So, if you need more encouragement before you commit to a booking with Mark and Carrie at The Cozy Cactus, let us help you. You will be delighted with the surroundings and accommodations. You will be counting the minutes until the next incredibly delicious breakfast is served. You will be begging for muffin and breakfast recipes. You will be thrilled with the morning sun hitting the Bell Rock that is in the backyard. If you are a photographer, you will not believe your luck at being in the right place. In the evening, you can bask in the glow of the fire pit while warmed by your poncho that is provided in your spacious room or rooms. You can even BBQ your own dinner ! We rented the Sedona Sky...it was perfection and so roomy. And bonus, you get a park pass for entry to all the hikes in and around Sedona. Stop reading and make a reservation. We could not have asked for better accommodations, hosts, location, and fellow travelers to share a most delicious breakfast with. Communication with the hosts was easy and fluid from the day we booked. We had reserved the Blooming Cactus room, but we were upgraded to the Sedona Sky room, a much bigger and comfortable room, upon arrival, simply because the room was available and they wanted us to feel comfortable. The room was great, with a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom, all very nicely decorated, spotlessly clean, and well stocked with toiletries, water in the fridge, coffees, teas, snacks, and information about Sedona. The hosts, Carrie and Mark, are wonderful people, obviously happy to do what they are doing and helpful, cheerful, and kind. The location of the property is unrivaled, with the back fence bordering the Red Rock National Park. The French door of our apartment opened directly onto a patio that faced the most beautiful and prized rock monuments of the area: Bell Rock, Courthouse Rock, and Cathedral Rock. We spent three amazing days there, and we left wanting to have spent more. Our stay was relaxing, energizing, just beautiful. Wow! We had the most WONDERFUL stay at the Cozy Cactus! The view for one was INCREDABLE! It is located near Oak Creek Village which is about a 10minute drive to "uptown". It was so quiet here and not much traffic! It keeps you close enough to EVERYTHING, yet far enough to give you that feeling of peace and solitude! Mark was an excellent host! The best muffin maker on earth, a fun sense of humor and always making sure we were happy and comfortable! Wonderful morning coffee with snack bars available when needed and don't get me started on Mark's homemade "cozy trail mix" I am addicted and now feeling withdrawals! LOL! Hiking trails galore right outside the back door! Firepit on the patio to watch the sunset, they truly have ANYTHING you would ever need, books, binoculars, blankets, games, cards, I could go on and on. We cooked a few of our dinners on the gas grill and ate outside- it was just a dream there! It was the PERFECT week and we were so sad to have to leave! Tequila is the sweetest lil' hostess with the moistest and I don't think I have ever met a more well behaved adorable dog in my life!! This is the ONLY place I will EVER stay when I am in Sedona! read more

My friend and I stayed at the Cozy Cactus for way too short of a time (just 2 nights). We stayed in the Cowboy Condo (2 really comfortable beds and 2 bathrooms). We love love loved it. The apartment was clean, well equipped and spacious with a view of a gorgeous mesa. It also had tasty snacks. The breakfast was delicious and a lovely mix of sweet and savory foods. It was also great way to hear from the other guests and get ideas about things to do and places to eat. Mark and the cozy staff were welcoming and helpful especially with local restaurant options. As with another reviewer we arrived a bit ahead of our 5 pm time and due to a lack of phone reception could not call - we did know that Mark was taking the four legged hostess with the mostess out for a walk - and right at 5 pm there they were. We would go back again in a heart beat. Originally we had planned day trips, but ended up hiking right out of the back of the property and were glad we did. We want to come back as soon as we can and for a lot longer this time. My only regret is that by writing this review more will fall in love with the Cozy Cactus and next time we might not be able to get in! read more

My husband and I vacationed in Sedona for our 10 year anniversary, and we could not have been happier with our stay at the Cozy Cactus. We chose the Cowboy Hideaway room, and it was very clean and super comfortable. The best part was being able to look out the window to see a spectacular view of some of Red Rock Country. The colorful back patio invites you to step outside your room and soak it all in. Our Innkeepers Carrie and Mark could not have been more helpful and accommodating, and we adored their dog Tequila! They were a wealth of information about the area and gave us lots of helpful tips - everything from the best hiking trails to the most popular restaurants, and of course, encouraging us to stay hydrated on our hiking days. The breakfasts Mark and Carrie prepared were fabulous, and I cannot stop thinking about them nearly two weeks after our trip: pancakes, breakfast burritos, delicious fruit, plus we could not stop talking about Mark's famous muffins! All in all we had a wonderful stay in Sedona, and it is a time we won't soon forget. We hope to stay at the Cozy Cactus again and would highly recommend it to anyone! read more

My husband and I were looking to get away for a couple of days in Sedona. We have never stayed at a B&B and weren't quite sure what to expect. I can honestly say it was far superior to what we could have imagined. After visiting with Mark and Carrie for about 5 minutes we felt like they were old friends and their place was so welcoming and far better than any hotel. Their breakfast is top notch and definitely something to look forward to every morning! We enjoyed visiting with the other guests at breakfast and having this fabulous meal served on the patio with the most beautiful view. It's the details and thought they put into every aspect of the stay. Mark has rain ponchos to loan out, advice on where to eat, on where to go, and where not to go, snacks, popcorn, coffee (all in room). They truly go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and pampered. We very much felt like we were visiting family out of town and were so amazed with their genuine spirit, hospitality and charm. We had a short visit but will definitely go back! read more

My wife and I spend three wonderful nights in this wonderful place. To call it Bed & Breakfast doesn't give it proper credit, it is so much more than. From the very beginning we were welcomed by Mark and Carrie as friends. There B.B. is amazing: beautiful colors, filled with amazing artwork and books about everything you ever wanted to read. There breakfast is also a work of art! It was extremely delicious and nutritious (perfect if one is about to take a hike in the very nearby National Park; actually some of the trails start one minute away from the house). The room we stayed in was spacious with many fine features.The other guests we meet during our stay were also very interesting with long and good talks. All in all: Perfect. If you want privacy and to be near the outdoor activities then this is the place for you! Wow we cant say enough. The grounds were clean well kept. Views are outstanding. Amazing Bed & Breakfast! I stayed at the Cozy Cactus years ago and it was just as great as I remembered. Mark and his staff are top-notch and go above-and-beyond with both the breakfasts as well as room accommodations. Our room (Vortex Vista) was clean, fully-stocked with amenities and had amazing views of Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. The atmosphere is welcoming and there are plenty of outdoor common areas to relax and socialize. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and morning coffee on the back patio. The view from the Cozy Cactus is among the best we experienced anywhere on our trip and the hiking trails could not be more convenient (directly behind the house). The 3-course breakfast is delicious and Mark modified his muffins so that we could enjoy despite a dietary restriction. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Sedona/Oak Creek! We highly recommend and should we find ourselves in the Sedona area again, we would certainly love to stay at the Cozy Cactus again! read more

My husband and I visited Sedona for a wedding recently and stayed at The Cozy Cactus. we loved our time there! The Cozy Cactus provides a relaxing oasis with a stunning view! There are several spaces on the property to sit back and just enjoy, including a couple of fire pits that are perfect for the chilly evenings. (And star gazing!) Our room was incredibly comfortable and well taken care of by the Cozy Cactus team. Everything was very clean and tidy. We were also provided with helpful information about the area such as maps and local restaurant recommendations. Finally, one of our favorite parts of our stay at The Cozy Cactus was meeting Mark and Tequila. Mark is hilarious and kept us laughing through out our stay, he is a wonderful host! And sweet Tequila was happy to accept pats and greeted us on the patio each morning before breakfast. She is a joy! We loved our time at the Cozy Cactus and can't recommend it enough. We will absolutely be returning in the future! read more

We arrived late at night and my wife woke up earlier than me and went to get coffee in the common area. She came back crying because the view from the back patio was so spectacular. This place is wonderfully unique and backs up to open and beautiful views of all the surrounding red rocks, mountains and more. The rooms are very eclectic, well equipped and with comfortable beds and chairs. With COVID the breakfast was only available "delivered to your room" but was non-the-less very delicious. The details and care that the owners put into this B&B will make for a wonderful stay that far surpasses many other choices in the area. One surprise for us was that the Cozy Cactus was not in Sedona but rather Oak Creek. This turned out to be just fine as Sedona is only a few miles away and Oak Creek has some excellent places to dine. The view from the back patio more that compensated for not being right in Sedona. We've stayed at a few B&B's over the years, but the Cozy Cactus has topped them all. Our hosts were out of this world friendly and they can whip up some fabulous breakfast. Tequila (the dog) was a highlight for us as well and she is quite possibly the softest dog in the world. The property itself is warm and inviting. We stayed in the Cowboy suite and it was incredibly comfortable for the 2 of us. Plenty of room to spread out and loved the easy access to the well appointed patio. They place is stocked full of hiking gear, coolers, parking passes, and area information. If you are new to Sedona, they have you covered. We live in the Phoenix area and it's only a couple hours up to Sedona for us. This will be our home away from home in Sedona as long as Mark and Carrie are in charge. I have never once been employed by the cozy cactus and this so the same disrespect we got while staying here and they don't wanna take responsibility for there actions and it's totally understandable considering the kind of people the have showed to be the so called owners of the place should really stop trying to make a low quality high budget motel and looking into retirement since they can't keep make up there mind to run there own business but this is exactly why we will NEVER stay here again and recommend you don't wither it's funny when you call out business owner for poor service and poor quality rooms they seem to want to flip it on you and make it seem like you were out to get them.to terry and Carrie don't be upset that you guys have a poor quality business maybe it's just not for you sincerely an actual PAYING customer read more

Cozy Cactus made my first time at a bed & breakfast a fantastic experience to remember. Our room was indeed cozy. My boyfriend and I appreciated the comfort it offered, as well as the amenities included. They really thought of everything, and the Cozy Snax were a perfect touch. And speaking of food, the breakfasts were nothing short of amazing! And what a view! We could see Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte like they were right in the backyard, which they pretty much were! Right from the back patio, we started our beautiful hike on the trails. And just across the street, there's another trail! And downtown Sedona is just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Mark is an awesome host, and his dog Tequila is super sweet. We'd love to stay there again and certainly recommend it to everyone who's looking for a wonderful B&B in Sedona! read more

We stayed in Sedona Sky room, which has 2 BR and opens onto the patio, looking out at the beautiful red rocks. 1 BR looks out to the rocks, the other BR looks to a small private sitting area on the front side of the inn. There's a semi-kitchen (full size fridge, micro, toaster oven, dishes, glasses, all kinds of utensils - even an immersion blender!). The breakfasts were delicious, the hosts very thoughtful and the location was stunning! We loved watching all the birds at the feeders - including lots of humming birds. Technically, you're in Oak Creek, which is south of and quieter than downtown Sedona. Right across the street from Bell Rock. 2 of 3 mornings we didn't have to get in our car to enjoy terrific hikes! If you head up to the Grand Canyon, be sure to ask Jimmy for his input! read more

The Cozy Cactus, where do I begin? A beautiful location with amazing hosts, especially their pup Tequila. Their daily breakfast was absolutely extravagant, they had three courses with muffins, fresh fruit and delicious entrees. What made the breakfast even better was the lovely hospitality and the gorgeous view from our seat of the red rocks. The table was so beautifully set and Mark has definitely earned his title of the muffin Tsar! Carrie, his wife, was wonderful and very accommodating, she also made a delicious breakfast! Our time in Sedona was truly made special with these lovely hosts and hostess, and we felt truly at home and especially cozy. We definitely feel like members of the family! Great rooms - we like one of the apt. style with a lovely living room, kitchen and nice bedroom with the most comfort bed after a long day of hiking. You can start right out after the VERY BEST breakfast in Sedona made by chef Carrie and the Muffin Czar, then head out the back gate for short or very long hikes in any direction. Everything K Y says about all the extras Mark and Carrie provide come in so handy you really don't need much more. My husband and I have stayed many times and have even left a "free" condo in Sedona early to come "home" to our Cozy Cactus and we both look forward to coming back again next year. 3rd time staying at Cozy Cactus, and this will always be our go-to place when we head to Sedona. Mark & Carrie (& Tequila) always make us feel at home and like family. The breakfasts are always 5 star. Since it backs up to the Nat'l Forest and the red rocks, the views are spectacular, and you can hike right outside your door ... or sit on the patio in the evenings and watch the wildlife and visit with your fellow guests. This particular visit we met 2 couples from Spain, a military wife from the UK, and a couple from Germany. New friends! Our 4 night stay at Cozy Cactus was a special treat. We spent our early mornings and late evenings on the back patio overlooking Bell Rock and other surrounding mountains while being entertained by the quail, rabbits, chipmunks and other critters meandering by. Our Cowboy suite had every amenity for our stay -- comfy king bed, bath, kitchen and eating area, and living area space. Mark and Carrie's breakfasts were absolutely delicious...and memorable. Mark gave spot-on recommendations for trips and restaurants and was always happy to help with advice and information about Sedona. This small Inn is one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in. The views from the patio are as good as any you can see anywhere in Sedona. The Inn backs up to the Coconino National Forest so you can take hikes without having to get in the car to drive there. Our room was comfortable and included every amenity you would possibly need including ponchos to sit by the outdoor fire pits when the weather is chilly. The breakfasts are delicious, homemade, and served with care. The small size makes for fun and intimate gatherings at breakfast and in the common areas with new friends.
