Denise working the counter was amazing! Very friendly and helpful. She recommended getting the rob plate. 4 ribs- 2 with dry rub and 2 with sauce. I ordered unsweetened IT which joked that NOONE orders unsweet tea in Tennessee. Food came out hot on a plastic plate but was delicious. Ribs were tender and fell off bone. The rub was really good but the sauces ones were fantastic! 2 sides of cole slaw and beans were a great compliment and it comes with 2 pieces of bread to sop it all up in. What a warm welcome to lunch after a morning at Graceland! We asked for recommendations on what to have for lunch & Mrs. Pollard was very helpful & friendly. We had: pulled pork, rib ends, beef, baked beans, green beans, potato salad, & bbq spaghetti. I had mild bbq sauce, but my hubby chose the hot bbq sauce. Very rude and poor customer service. They need to change the name to Pollard's Ghetto BBQ because of the way the staff behaves. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:20pm and the restaurant closes at 6. I ordered a turkey leg and was informed they were out despite it being on the menu, and that they wouldn't have any for a month (so take it off the menu). So I ordered the nachos with mild sauce. My party sat down at a table and I asked the woman who I ordered from (black lady with plats and glasses) for the password to the "Pollard's Guest wifi". She answers "I don't know. " and walks away. She may not know but could have found out and made no attempt. At 530 the same woman comes to our table with bags and says "We close at 6 so I made your orders to go." and puts us out of the restaurant, locking the door behind us, although it was 30 minutes before close. So this place being ranked so high in the Memphis BBQ market is embarrassing. I ordered sliced brisket and got served chopped beef. I understand Memphis is more of a pork town, but it's on the menu. I returned the chopped beef and was served oxidized, old brisket. It was was dry as shoe leather. I get it, if you don't have it tell the customer. I wasn't informed. This place is bad. read more

Great no frills bbq spot close to Graceland. Service was super friendly and they helped me navigate the menu to get the best grub. Ended up with a turkey sandwich and double baked beans since they were out of green beans for the day. Turkey was juicy and delicious and the bbq sauce was nicely spicy without being too hot. My only wish was they had a sampler platter for multiple meats since they're all only sold by the pound and the double pork plate doesn't include other meats. I wanted to try them all! All were delicious. Medium was a bit much for me, but still good. I'd go with mild next time on my turkey sandwich. Hubs loved the medium and said it was just the right amount of pepper to taste ratio. It's akin to really good Texas BBQ minus the brisket ( not on the menu). Ribs today were tender not chewy, potato salad was creamy with good mustard taste (not overwhelming) and green beans were not soggy or over greasy. I walked in for lunch on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. Maybe I missed the rush? But the cashier was extremely friendly and allowed me to taste the sauce before I ordered. I went with the pulled chicken, spicy sauce, with coleslaw sandwich combo. The inside was clean and they had tons of Tony Pollard, Dallas Cowboys memorabilia. He's related to the owners I believe. Plus there are tv's so you can watch games. Looks like they have a few beers and wines too. I truly enjoyed my sandwich. The spicy wasn't that spicy at all so no worries there. The hot had some kick but didn't sacrifice flavor for heat, loved it. The BBQ spaghetti(amazing). Spicy sauce & just tender enough with the best meaty texture, not really fatty. My bf is 6'2" 200+ lbs & he thought he could take down a full rack but the ribs won. We ended up taking the remaining half rack to-go. The fried okra dipped in their spicy sauce were the perfect addition to our meal. Denise in the front treated us like absolute family with simply the best southern hospitality. She made suggestions & offered up the advice that we had to get there early next time to try the BBQ Spaghetti & their potato salad, both of which were sold out. The food was pretty good the rib tips were yummy. The sauce was great as well. I love the simple fact that they have multiple sauce choices and you can combine them. I also tried a red hot sausage and it was yummy as well. The only complaint that my partner had was that some of the tips were a little tough for her but I didn't have a problem. Also the okra was also yummy. The prices here are also very reasonable. The lady at the counter is awesome as well. She was very nice and gave us a great conversation while waiting for our food. We were in Memphis visiting Graceland. We wanted some local BBQ and we prefer local "dives" to tourist spots. That's where you usually find the best food. Pollards did not disappoint!! It's only a couple miles from Graceland. Due to Covid, they did not have inside dining available. So we ordered and took it back to our hotel. Pulled pork, rib tip sandwich, fried okra, onion rings, baked beans, and fried pickles. Truly, all were amazing! The meat was "clean" not fatty. The fried pickles were super thin, like a chip. And the baked beans had little bits of pork in them. Highly recommend! read more

I've cooked enough ribs in my time and kept the leftovers in the fridge to know when I'm eating leftovers and how long leftovers should last. My rib tips on Tuesday were 3 or 4 days old and had been cooked probably on the weekend. They're tough, chewy, and starting to get that spoiled taste. This was the last possible time they could be eaten. I damn sure couldn't save them and heat it again! They think the sauce covers it but it doesn't.
