Have been going there for 10 years on and off. I was never fond of this place but it's close and used to be more affordable than other vets. The new front staff and doctor are awful! I was not informed when I made the appointment that Dr. Lasher would not be attending to my boy. One of the "nurses" was extremely rude and argumentative when I asked a question regarding my boy's chart. I will never go back and highly recommend you don't either. Roswinn Vet Hospital on Roscoe is far superior in every way. It's clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the doctor is nice and cares about your pet. I should've gone back there but I wanted to see Dr Lasher since he knew of my boy's condition. read more

Unfortunately after over 20 years of being a customer and taking three of my dogs here. Hours of being able to see the vet have become less and less and harder to get the services of what is needed to keep my dogs healthy. The customer service of the front desk is extremely disappointing, they are rude and speak to you as if they are above you. read more

I have used this pet hospital for many years. One dog needed cancer surgery that was done so well that there was no follow-up treatment. Another dog had knee surgery also done so well that there was no rehab necessary. I've been coming to Cozycroft Pet Hospital for about 7 years now. And in my mind it's been 4 out of 5 stars up until today. 4 stars mainly because the ACTUAL VET is phenomenal. Dr Haether is the sweetest man and really cares about our animals. I tacked 1 star off because the staff/assistants who work there have always been incredibly horrendous, but we dealt with it because the Vet was so good. However, today was the worst experience I've ever had at this vet. And it is all to the fault of the staff. I had called on Monday to ask for an appointment for either Today (Monday) or for Thursday. The receptionist said "We don't have any availability until Friday, but what did you need to come in for?" I said "a teeth cleaning." She said "OH! A teeth cleaning? We can do that on Thursday." (First of all, what changed? Why does the means of my appointment change the day of your availability?) I say "cool see yah then!" And that was it. Thursday comes and my wife goes to drop off my dog. One of the assistants there shows my wife an itemized breakdown of how much the entire thing would cost (Teeth Cleaning, Pain Management, and we added Nail Trimming on to it). Which was said to come out to $414. My wife happily agreed to that price. Upon pickup it turned out our bill was just shy of $900. Over double in price. Due to a conveniently unmentioned "Anesthesia Fee". Something that was never stated we had to pay extra for. Their only excuse was "ah well someone should have told you, plus you signed the form so..." Yes, we signed a CONSENT FORM which did not state a price for Anesthesia, but happened to mention the price of everything else. PLUS the "somebody should have told you..." YEAH, somebody SHOULD have told me. But you didn't, and now I have to pay for YOUR miscommunication and lack of information? Their response was basically a more professional way of saying "Well sucks for you LOL pay up chump." After some back and forth with the staff it was clear they were content in scamming us out of funds we did not agree upon giving. We're very upset and now have to find a new vet with a staff who actually cares about their clients and their animals. Which stinks cause Dr. Haether is so great. 0 Stars if I could read more

AVOID THIS VET! I'M SO SORRY I EVER BROUGHT MY DOGS HERE. RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. RUDE EMPLOYEES. We came to Cozycroft after our vet suddenly passed away and it's always been a weird experience there. The doc is nice, but the office staff is JUST AWFUL. I used to order my dog's meds from here instead of PetMeds in order to support a local business, and most times I have to wait, sometimes 20-30 minutes in the waiting area just to pick up meds because the staff can't handle the traffic. Today was the last straw. As I entered, I was told by a very surly employee to wait outside and call the front desk. When I asked why I couldn't just give her my pet's name, she shut the door in my face and I was locked out. I called and waited 10 minutes and the other rude employee came out and made me pay for my pet's medication out on the sidewalk like we were doing some kind of illicit drug deal. WTF? And was there any sort of apology? Did anyone say, "Sorry for the wait", or "Thank you for your patience" NO. Sorry Cozycroft, but your front desk staff doesn't know jack about how to treat customers. When I asked why myself and another person had to wait outside, they said it was policy, though I never had to wait outside before despite the sign on the door. But it's not that so much as THE RUDE BEHAVIOR AND DIRTY LOOKS when all I was trying to do was pay for my dog's meds. So, BYEBYE COZYCROFT, I'M NOT SPENDING ANOTHER DIME AT THIS PLACE. YOU ARE DISGRACEFUL in the way you treat people who do business with you. read more

Just one visit. Cozycroft seems good. The doctor is knowledgeable. I would go back. I would do more with another visit sometime.

So just a little update. Rather than reach out to at least have a discussion with us about what happened, as good businesses do, they mailed us a letter basically saying our dogs are not welcome there anymore. This place has been around along time. The place isn't fancy but the Veterinary is old school Doctor. Many other places make sure that your dog has all his shots before they will even examine your dog. This place sees your dog for what you bring your puppy in for. No added fees. Great people work there. Highly recommend. read more

I don't normally leave reviews but felt compelled to. I have been bringing my dogs here for the last several years. I have recommended them to everyone I know. My daughter moved back to LA and she was also bringing her cat. I had an appointment to see the vet for my senior chihuahua to get her medicine refilled. My error, I truly thought she had been seen by this vet last year and I was wrong. My 3 other dogs have, but not my chihuahua as consistently. As I tried (poorly) to explain myself, I was met with raised eyebrows.  Flustered, because I've been so overwhelmed with my dad being extremely ill, and dealing with my 18 yo chihuahua's health, I'm sure I did not explain myself well. Instead of anyone at this office saying "Wait, let's figure this out." They called back to flatly say,  that I'm "no longer a fit." and couldn't come to bring my Chihuahua, or ANY of my dogs back. I was devastated, left with a chihuahua with a bad heart needing her medicine and having to scramble to get an appointment somewhere else. When I finally composed myself and talked to my husband, he told me he had taken our dog to a different vet when I was with my dad. Ultimately, it was my fault but they wouldn't let me explain and had zero empathy.  If anyone in that office is ever faced with a parent dying, I truly hope people show them compassion, care, and grace They will see how it's hard to keep things straight, and how mentally overwhelming it can be. All in all, this is just my experience, there are a lot of vets out there, I've owned animals my whole life and have never been treated like that. Good luck in your search! read more

It is too bad that this place had become so horrible over the years. I have been taking my dog here for last 9 years. Last time when we went we were recommend to go see a specialist and later found out our baby has cancer. As we adjust to live with it, I had made and appt. to get his nails cut and bath. I picked him up headed for the house. There was and intense smell in the car. It was in Aug and hot didn't stop to check but when I got to get him out of the trunk there was a lot of blood. I immediately called the office back. They told me to bring him back in. Got my son and we did. Not only I did not get any kind of a sympathy. I was treaded as I made a big deal. Lady who checked him said " it happens he probably moved while he was getting his nails cut." I am not a moron. I know dogs move and you are a professional and that is why I bring him here instead of cutting his nails at home. This is not a " small blood residue on paw" as they noted in his files afterwards. Small cuts happen but this wasn't small. Them treading it as it was nothing was ridiculous and hearthless. Our fur friends become our family member. You should know this more than anyone because you work at a vet. I tried to speak with the doctor left 4 messages. I let it go because although the office- apparently Jordan and Michele didn't think my dog deserved better. I liked the doctor. I figured they never told him since dr never called me back. Now in December, I almost ran out of his medications and called made and appt. to go see the doctor. ON THE DAY of the appt, to be exact 2 hours before they called me and told me I could not go in because I had apparently told them I was never going back and I was in hysterics last time. I did NOT say I was not going back to see the doctor. I would obviously not get his nails cut there again but that has nothing to do with the doctor. I wanted to talk to the doc and my grammar was made fun of in the front office right in front of my other clients and my son. YES I remember that very clearly !!!! Was I hysterical, yeah you damn right I was, I was crying for my dog. but I wasn't loud. I was very polite. I asked for my money back because their service was not good at all. I was denied but that is not the issue. I could NOT get my dogs prescription medications for a few days because of this office. I LEFT 5 messages with different people wanting to speak with the doctor and I never got a phone call back. Below I am posting a semi wiped picture of a blood in my car. Which they called it a "small blood residue in the paw" At the end we all deserve and need a care for our animal friends. We are paying customers. Especially after 9-10 years we expect that office knows their clients. Refusing a client to see a doctor over some much needed medications was pretty darn low. I suggest you guys take your business somewhere else. I have never been treated so wrong in my 54 years of my life in this world. And this is for the office : You don't need to do what you are doing if you don't like your job. We are trusting you with our babies who can NOT defend themselves and can't communicate. They already know you, they will never hurt you. They'll never treat you the way you treat them. Little compassion goes a long way. read more

I call this place Cozycroft Death Hospital. This review is long overdue. I used to take my two dogs here for regular checkups. One day, my golden stopped eating so I took him in for check up. I left him there for them to do testing. I got a call several hours later. The vet told me my golden has cancer and matter of factly suggested I put him to sleep. Didn't provide explanation, educate or suggest options for treating it. After a few follow up calls he said we could try removing the tumors. His staff asked me if I wanted his nails cut since he would be under anesthesia already. I didn't think it was that serious then since they asked me this option. Long story short, my dog passed away hours after the surgery. They were going to have him stay at their facility overnight without anyone watching him. I insisted in having him brought home where he died on his own bed. Terrible place. read more

My Vet is the best. Hi! My name is Grumpy. I was born with a unique case of cryptorchidism-which means I was born with one undescended testicle. My mommy adopted me from the West Valley Shelter in 2014. You see how handsome I am now--you should've seen me as a kitten. When I went to get neutered at Cozycroft veterinary hospital,right next-door to the shelter, Dr. Haerther told my mommy that one testicle had not dropped. He told her that she would have to bring me back in a couple of months so he could remove it. So my mommy took me back, but he still didn't find the testicle with the second surgery. That one little testicle that was left in me, made me extremely difficult to live with. I sprayed all over my mommy's apartment. I fought with her other kitties. I humped blankets and tried to mount her other kitties who were not at all happy about it. One time, I lifted my tail and sprayed directly onto my mommy. My mother was getting extremely frustrated, and took me to another vet for a third surgery when I was three years old. She couldn't find the testicle either. Three surgeries later, ultrasounds, hormone tests, and monthly estrogen shots, my mommy was at her wits end. It killed her, but my mom surrendered me back to the shelter where I came from. I was in the shelter for two months. She was miserable without me. She cried every day and thought about me constantly. One night, she had a dream and saw me in a cage at the shelter. In her dream, I looked in her face and cried out to her. The next day my mommy came to check on me, and saw that I had been placed in the quarantine room with the feral cats. I had been acting up and placed away in isolation. The workers at the shelter told her I had been hissing and couldn't be placed in the adoption room- they said that I was " out for blood" and had gone mad. My mom immediately adopted me back because she knew she couldn't keep me in that little cage in isolation. It broke her heart that she couldn't help all the feral cats there. As a last resort, my mom took me to Dr. Haerther at Cozycroft one more time. By some odd miracle, the fourth surgery was successful! He found the testicle right in my groin. It had taken four years for the testicle to come out of my muscle tissue. Now I live at home with my mommy and other furry friends in peace, and I'm a perfect gentleman. I highly recommend Dr. Haerther--he only charged $200 for the first surgery. The following two surgeries he performed were free of charge. He said he had never seen a case like mine in the 30+ years that he has been in practice. So now- no one calls me Humpy anymore. Dr. Haerther saved my life another time too, when I ate a whole spool of string which got bunched up in my intestines-- but that's a whole other story! read more

Hello to all that are taking time to read this review. I've been going to cozy Croft vet for years. It's gone to hell! The Dr we always saw is always on leave due to health problems and family issues. I completely understand that. Life happens. The problem is the animal care has also gone to hell. A year ago we brought our dog in for a limping problem. We had an Xray and he has a small bone spur that was causing a bit of discomfort. He was 8 at the time. His health was excellent besides that. The Dr steve recommended a once a month shot to help with his pain. It's called Librela. I was told by our vet who we trusted for years it was safe. Look this poison up! It's killed thousands of dogs and cats. FDA issued a warning and we were not told once it could kill our dog. Well it did kill him. It paralyzed him. My neighbor I was telling me she went to cozy Croft last year and I just found out it killed her dog too! Please DO NOT USE LIBRELA! IT NEEDS TO BE PULLED OFF THE MARKET! Needless to say I will never go to cozy Croft again! read more

I never even spoke to him so whoever relayed the nature of my complaint simply lied about what I said. The bottom line is that they were rude and unprofessional. Further, I was specifically told the vet would not even speak to me about medication issues regardless of the circumstances. The lovely ladies I talked to at the front desk answered all the questions I had and didn't rush me off the phone. When I went in they were fast even though there were quite a bit of people inside. Our little Frankie, whom we adopted knowing we would be hospice, lived a total of 2 years more than we had any right to expect. Cozycroft deserves credit for partnering with us as her family. When the time came to make the decision to put her to sleep it was overwhelming; the Cozycroft staff were professional, compassionate and communicative of the process. We got to be with our sweet baby until she drifted off. Afterwards, we received an unexpected gift of Frankie's little paw print. Cozycroft truly stands out as the best vet I've ever visited. We still miss Frankie, but Cozycroft has helped us through it. They truly love animals. read more

We began taking our sick cat to them in January after our previous vet being unable to find a problem, we were able to cure a finding in his lung but eventually he began to get sicker and it became clear his diagnosis was much worse than we all predicted. Update: I've decided to get my dogs prescription at chewy.com because it's $0.09 a tablet as opposed to $3 at the vet. But they were not responding to requests from chewy to ok the or forward the prescription so I called. The woman at the office told me I had to bring Rudy in for a checkup to get the prescription, even though he was seen 4 times last year for the skin issue. They wanted $70 for the visit and addition fee for the doctor. I explained I'm a 72 yr old senior on a fixed income and in the middle of a pandemic. That the fee she's asking is an extreme hardship, not to mention my fear of getting sick. I asked if there was possibly a senior discount, or a discount day. I was told that they do not offer any assistance "we are not a charity case" was her exact comment. I told her she was making me choose between getting groceries or paying for an unnecessary vet bill. I asked to have the vet call me, she told me I was no longer welcome there and the vet is very busy and would not call me. "Take your business elsewhere, we don't want you here anymore" was what she told me. I was in there a recently with my other dog and was shocked to see, in the midst of this health crisis, the place is still disgustingly filthy. I just found this place by a referral. I have three pets now (a cat and two dogs ), but I have had many pets all my life. I've lived 3 minutes away from this place for 20 years and I never knew how good it was. I had been looking for a good vet for a long time. I'm so happy to have found it now, my cat Amber had her teeth cleaned and they did such a good job. I was worried because I have had bad past experiences at other vet hospitals, but they did such a good job on her and she is so happy and healthy now. They were also honest to tell me that the dogs can wait a little longer for their teeth cleaning. The bill was very reasonable and I will definitely go back again. Please take your pet elsewhere. You will find better hands for your loved one. I'm sure other people had good experiences here, but I would never refer anyone to Cozycroft. Four weeks ago, we took our 16-year-old kitty here when we noticed she was dropping food out of her mouth. We assumed a dental issue. My wife and I found the doctor to be arrogant, he didn't listen to what we had to say and kept talking over us... but he seemed to be otherwise competent. So we silently agreed not to go back to him next time. The doctor gave her a physical exam, said all her organs felt fine, and ran blood work. Blood work came back the next day with nothing wrong except a slightly elevated white cell count, so he gave us an antibiotic and said she should be "80% better within 5 days." Within five days, she had completely stopped eating and had become severely lethargic. We took her to a different hospital where the vet merely put his hands on our cat and said, "You need to get her to emergency care right now..." My wife and I rushed her to a 24-hour Emergency Vet where we discovered that our cat had metastatic cancer throughout her body, in her lungs and abdomen. Our kitty passed away last week after fighting the cancer for 2 weeks. Where Cozycroft failed us the most is that all of the other vets who gave our cat a physical exam detected problems simply by handling her. They all said her cancer was so advanced that her tumors and growths could be felt with their fingers when they handled her body. Which means the vet at Cozycroft was the ONLY one who missed what everyone else noticed right away. When everyone else catches the same thing except this one guy, the problem is obvious. I would urge anyone to avoid this place and look elsewhere. read more

I have been taking my two dogs to this Cozycroft pet hospital for over 10 years. and my experience was very bad. they don't care for your pets at all. They are very careless and don't bother to tell you if there is an issue with your dog. each time when I take my dog for her vaccine shots. And if my don has other health issues, they are the professionals that should say something that my dog is not doing well, until I found ou--t that she had a severe heart issue, they just never bothered to say anything, till my dog passed. all they say is I am sorry and didn't even mean it. They are just horrible. I don't understand why they are in this business.  The 2nd dog I took him for boarding for a couple of nights, I was supposed to pick him up Saturday afternoon, but I was stuck in terrible traffic, I called and plea, asked if they would wait a bit longer, but I was told they would wait only 15 minutes and no longer. I was trying to rush to pick up my dog, otherwise, my dog would stay there till the following Monday and my dog needed his medication, but they couldn't care less.I offered to pay for their time, of course, but she kept repeating that she would not and could not wait. I almost had a deadly accident, and finally made it there 5 min. late, they had closed and didn't wait. read more
