I have been taking my cat Mr. Whiskers to Nordhoff for years. From the moment I walk in Jennifer the receptionist greets me with a smile and very personable. Love chatting with her. Took him in today and the staff is amazing. Today he saw Dr. Kang and she was very thorough and gave me recommendations on his care. Wendy the tech was very gentle with whiskers and he was so calm with her and I appreciate that very much. He's been seen by Dr. Cohen and Dr. P in the past as well and both are amazing! I am grateful for Nordhoff Veterinary Hospital and their wonderful staff for caring for my whiskers. I won't go anywhere else and mind you I commute from Long Beach and will continue doing so because I only trust Nordhoff for my cats care.

I had to include his photo cause he's just so cute

They got us in quickly when our new pup injured himself jumping. Staff and vet were friendly, professional and checked up on him multiple times in the following days while he took a med prescribed for his pain. They didn't push for expensive x rays right away, which was nice - especially since he got way better fairly quickly. Glad to have found a great vet so close to home!

Today I walked our cat into Nordoff veterinarian hospital. They immediately helped our cat I didn't have an appointment. I just did an emergency walk in. Everyone was so nice so kind so patient and knew how to deal with a blubbering mess of a kitty mom. I just want to say that I really appreciate all who helped our cat and myself unfortunately my cat Farrell didn't make it. I don't do reviews on really anything ever. I just want everyone to know how great this veterinarian hospital is. R. I. P. Too our regal loyal loving boy cat. Thank you to everyone at this establishment.

When Buddy died they sent me a beautiful sympathy card with personal messages from each of the folks who took care of Buddy over the years. It also included paw prints and a small bag of fur. I'm putting the card, paw prints, and fur in a frame on my Dia de Los Muertos offrenda. ‍

The last thing you want when your fur baby is suffering is to reach voicemail after voicemail. Hearing a compassionate human voice on the other end of the phone brought me so much comfort. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. She encouraged him to stay in the room with us once he was comfortable with her, and I truly believe that helped him understand what was happening. She was incredibly professional, but I'll never forget one small moment. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions. I knew that if she believed my girl wasn't ready, she would have told me. Most of us are fortunate enough to experience this kind of heartbreak only a few times in our lives. She carries families through it over and over again. That takes an incredible amount of compassion. Thank you for your kindness, your empathy, and for helping my sweet Lilo leave this world peacefully and with dignity. Please take care of yourself, too. The first photo is the day Oliver met Lilo as a puppy, their first photo together. The second was taken just before the veterinarian arrived to help Lilo pass. I didn't realize until later that I had unknowingly captured both the beginning and the end of their story together I will miss my Lilo for eternity.

This is not my first review of our beloved Dr G, and I just recommended her to 6 more people again just these past 2 weeks. I always say to people I give her card to: "you will discover she is an Earth Angel - if she moved to a different town, I'd take my pup there... When you find a great vet, they are Gold! She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. That it so needed during that deeply emotional time, and more veterinary offices ought to follow her example. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. Unfortunately he passed, and I learned that finding the RIGHT professional truly makes ALL the difference. So yes, I drive from Sherman Oaks. Gratefully so :) I am thankful that my cherished pups are her patients. Her ethics, her care, her kindness, her knowledge, her integrity - she's our number 1!!!

Words to the wise out there, make sure that your groomer is cleaning out your fu babies anal gland at least 4 times a year when they get groomed as this can cause an impacted anal glad that can be toxic to your fur baby!! Oh boy...if I could leave negative stars…read more.. My mom and I brought my dog in today (July 4, 2026) while they were open. We were actually reccommended by the VCA Animal Specialists of the Valley on Ventura. We needed an Urgent Care and this was the first that was open today because of the holiday. We roll in at 5:55 after being told the vet would be seeing walk-in patients at 6pm. It turned out, HE WASN'T EVEN THERE! The front desk girl, Cheyenne, said he'd be a few minutes because (and she told us this while laughing) "someone walked into his house and stole his pizza off the counter." She acted like it was some big joke and then said "He's the only vet I know who has had his house broken into so many times." FIrst of all, unprofessional as HELL! Second, why are you laughing about your boss's house getting broken into? Third, why are you even telling us this?????? Now, it wasn't a life or death emergency, but it's called Urgent Care for a reason. We had to do the new patient paperwork on the iPad and then she had to ask us questions so we sat there for maybe 10 minutes. We saw a man walk in, but didn't know if it was the vet or not. It was the doctor, Dr. Gurmani. He never introduced himself either, I only know his name because I just looked up who owned the clinic. He does. She brings us into a room becasue she has to take my dog's temperature and tells us she's "sorry that this one takes so long to count. I took the fast one home." Also while laughing. WHYYYYYYYY are you taking office medical supplies home? Why are you telling us? FINALLY the doctor comes in. He clearly has some sort of speech impediment so he speaks very softly and briefly. No problem, that doesn't bother us at all. We were told "he has a hard time speaking" though. But he doesn't explain anything let alone even look at my dog closely. He shined some sort of little light device in her eye, from a good distance, and said they would flush it and do a thing with drops to see if there was damage. We thought she had been scratched by my grandma's cat. Then the tech comes to get the dog and she immediately freaks out upon seeing him. This guy did not give off good vibes and when he noticed that she was clearly upset, he did......NOTHING. He just had my mom walk with them to the backroom door where he then pretty much had to drag her with him because she was so scared of him. The front desk girl has us come back to the front after a few minutes and pay. No explanations, no doctor telling us what's up, NOTHING. So we go pay. She does breakdown the costs and gives a brief explanation of what each thing was after we asked. She then literally LAUGHS at my mom, inturrupts to correct her, and is snarky about the way we are paying. "I've never seen it done that way" and "That's actually so much easier than what you were doing." Like girl, that's NOT how you talk to a customer. We just had no words for the unprofessionalism. A few minutes into this, the tech comes out with my dog who is practically dragging him to me because she wants to get away from him. Now, this tech is NOT listed on the website so I don't know his name. But Cheyenne claimed he was "a vet too" when he answered a question. This guy was OBVIOUSLY a vet tech. He gave me the medication and told me how to do it. He didn't talk to us otherwise. I know this is really long, but I sincerely hope you (the vet, receptionist, other people looking for a vet) take the time to read it through. I've worked retail and am currently a teacher and I have NEVER even THOUGHT ABOUT talking to anyone in my work environment the way Cheyenne talked to us. TLDR: Pros: The place was clean. There was no wait, which probably was a bad sign. Cons: Unprofessional staff. Uncommunicative vet. Overpriced. Next time, in a non-life threatening case, I will wait the weekend and see my vet whom I adore and TRUST. Thanks for reading.

This is not optional or cosmetic--it's a serious diagnostic test. Yet the Banfield location in Chatsworth (91311) acted like scheduling it was a burden. They pushed back, resisted, and initially refused to book the appointment. It took a manager from another Banfield hospital calling them just to get an appointment made for today. That alone tells you how poorly this location is managed. When I arrived, I was 20 minutes late. I understand punctuality matters, but what happened next was unacceptable: they immediately used that as an excuse to refuse to perform the test, with zero effort to help or problem-solve. An LDDS test involves timed blood draws every 4 hours, so a professional clinic would explain options clearly, offer a modified plan if possible, or at minimum reschedule in a reasonable way. Instead, they acted like they were looking for a reason to turn us away. The practice manager, Katie, was hostile, dismissive, and confrontational. Her behavior was not just "busy" or "having a bad day"--it was outright disrespectful. I asked for the next available date or any alternative appointment, and she refused to schedule anything. No solutions. No accountability. No concern for my dog's health. Just attitude. Bottom line: If your pet needs real medical attention and you expect basic professionalism, avoid this Banfield in Chatsworth. They wasted my time, added stress during a health issue, and showed zero empathy or willingness to help. I will not be returning, and I strongly suggest you take your pet to a clinic that actually cares and behaves professionally.
