This review is loooong overdue. But I just interacted with the office just this morning and they were so sweet and nice once again. Plus it was my Tony's (my little fur boy's) birthday yesterday. So, I am finally posting it. Even though it was a very sad day (of having to let go of our kitty), I have to say that this was an amazing clinic with an amazing staff and an incredibly humane and knowledgeable doctor. I was sooooo lucky to get her at the last moment. We've been referred by a good friend, and we called in and despite their busy schedule, they were kind enough to take us in with the last minute appointment, because our cat was in a very bad condition and our previous vet could not determine much. Jennifer was the one who answered the phone and she's been an angel from the moment we spoke to her on the phone to the moment we left the office. What a kind, compassionate human being! I don't have enough good things to say about the Doctor P who was so intelligent, experienced and did not BS around giving us false hopes or torturing our cat with extra tests/procedures (and pain and suffering along with it) to prolong his life. In a very delicate way, she confirmed what we've been suspecting for a while now and made this decision a little easier to make, even though it's never easy, no matter how ready you think you are. Anyway, the whole staff was really cool, the ones doing paperwork and also a very kind girl who was there during the final injections. Thank you to the wonderful veterinarian team for their excellent customer service and efficiency! We brought our dog here for the first time to get some overdue vaccinations and for a physical check up, and were treated very well by the Adriana, Cynthia, and Dr Cohen. They recognized signs of how our dog is feeling and offered to do their services in the separate treatment room so that our dog wouldn't keep feeling like he must protect us! Afterwards, we were consulted on everything that occurred and were given valuable information on what other steps we could take. I really appreciate Dr Cohen taking her time to discuss with us everything and both sides asked and answered questions. She was very kind and as our first vet to come across, she didn't make us feel worried and eased our stresses. We brought our new kitten in for his first checkup, and it was a great experience! The veterinarian was very knowledgeable, took the time to answer all of our questions, and reassured us as first-time kitten owners. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. We also appreciated receiving a first-time kitten owner guide with helpful information to take home. I have been taking my cat Mr. Whiskers to Nordhoff for years. From the moment I walk in Jennifer the receptionist greets me with a smile and very personable. Love chatting with her. Took him in today and the staff is amazing. Today he saw Dr. Kang and she was very thorough and gave me recommendations on his care. Wendy the tech was very gentle with whiskers and he was so calm with her and I appreciate that very much. He's been seen by Dr. Cohen and Dr. P in the past as well and both are amazing! I am grateful for Nordhoff Veterinary Hospital and their wonderful staff for caring for my whiskers. Took my puppy for a possible eye infection as a new patient. I brought in all the vaccine documents from a breeder and the previous vet. Out of nowhere, they recommended that my puppy gets a vaccine booster shot. On the basis of recommendation, we went ahead with the booster but the this office made a error in reading all the documents I provided (they did take all the coduments and made copies of them). My puppy didn't need to have another booster for a year. Spent money on unnecessary procedure and I felt so guilty for putting my puppy through a shot he didn't need. On top of that, they asked me to come back in a month later for ANOTHER BOOSTER SHOT!! They are very eager to schedule your next appointments but wasn't competent to take proper care of my puppy. read more

My cat, Mr. Mambo, has just moved for the first time in his 15 years to the area from Sun Valley and has been having some tummy troubles this past month because of it. New living situation and all new smells have him experiencing a 2-Feliway plugin level of anxiety. I appreciate that this new vet spent some time to hear about all his medical ailments and concerns over the years, as well as reviewing all the bloodwork from our last vet that was done in Nov. She didn't try to upsell me and said they kinda let the cats guide them on what to test for if anything. She helped relieve some of my anxieties about his health and sent him home with some probiotics to help, while I continue to monitor him. Definitely recommend. read more

As a new patient I was so pleasantly surprised by the care that was provided and education. Dr.cohen is very informative and holistic with care. Services I've got from prior vet that I didn't know weren't ideal for my cat she shared in such a kind way and provided a better alternative. The vet techs Emily was so gentle and kind when handling my cat. Jennifer at the front desk was beyond kind and reassuring. So much so she even precut a bottle before sending it home for medication for my baby Freddy. One more vet tech really spared her time to make sure I could get to chatsworth to get the medication. Overall the staff has a sense of urgency that I don't see now days. We recently moved to the west end of the valley and needed to find a vet closer to our new home. We went to Yelp to see who our neighbors trust with their fur children. We reached out to Nordhoff Veterinary Hospital. They were pretty busy and the first available appointment was over a week out for new clients. Since we were establishing care to address our dog's ongoing allergies, we didn't feel that waiting was a problem. On our appointment day we met with Dr. Cohen. She was very attentive and took quite a bit of time listening to what has been going on with our pup and giving us several options on how to move forward. Nothing felt rushed. No services were pushed on us. It was just very straightforward legitimate care. Celeste was assisting and she was great too. We left feeling empowered on how to resolve his issues and felt confident knowing that there were other options, if our course of action didn't workout. Another GREAT thing about this practice is that you can text them with questions or needs. This came in very handy when we forgot to get a refill for Biscuit's RX. They are very responsive regardless of how you communicate with them. Additionally their prices felt VERY fair compared to our previous experiences with veterinary care. They got us in quickly when our new pup injured himself jumping. Staff and vet were friendly, professional and checked up on him multiple times in the following days while he took a med prescribed for his pain. They didn't push for expensive x rays right away, which was nice - especially since he got way better fairly quickly. Glad to have found a great vet so close to home! read more

I am very happy with the care my fur babies receive here. I go to Dr Popescu...love her! She's great! I have seen Dr Cohen a couple times (when Dr P isn't available) and she is good too. I haven't been in a while but I do call from time to time with questions and everyone is so helpful and friendly. Dr Popescu answers all my questions and the front desk is always nice. I called there to finds bet for my pregnant Yorkie and the receptionist was so nice and helpful. She gave me useful information and referred me to two veterinarians who care for pregnant dogs. Everyone was so nice so kind so patient and knew how to deal with a blubbering mess of a kitty mom. I just want to say that I really appreciate all who helped our cat and myself unfortunately my cat Farrell didn't make it. I don't do reviews on really anything ever. Our cat was suddenly sick. We called NVH and we're able to walk the 10 minutes to the hospital. The staff took her immediately, gave us an estimate of care, and we left her with them. Completely thorough; the final cost WAS above the estimate, yet a small amount. She recovered within a day or so, and we're glad for the treatment given. This was the most in depth vet exam I've had where the doctor really took tthe time to explain and answer my questions. Dr Favinski helped my cat Rosie and she is very sweet to the animals and doesn't recommend anything unnecessary which means alot to me. I'm so happy they squeezed me in! This clinic is unprofessional and rarely answers their phone. I've been trying to be a client with various different pets for the past few years and they never got back to me. Their website has a form that states they are accepting new patients yet when you call them they say they aren't taking any new patients. I've been on their waitlist for years but they like to pick and choose despite waiting years.. after speaking to their rude receptionist Cindy I have decided that I will never want to be their client. read more

My dog was elderly and had a host of health issues, and I consulted with this veterinarian because my previous veterinarian passed away. From the moment I walked in with my dog, I was not only welcomed, I was reassured that their staff would give my dog the care and attention that she needed. Even with my dog visibly shaking, and later making a mess in one of the rooms, the staff were patient and understanding as I helped to clean up. The doctor and assistant carefully examined my dog, and it was clear that my dog was suffering, with limited options available. My family and I had done our best to give her the most comfortable life possible, and although it was a difficult decision to make, the staff was exceptionally compassionate and supportive with the decision to have my dog put to sleep.
