I was quoted a certain price I was even given a printout. On the day of his last appointment they called me as myself and my entire family was crying in the car and informed me that they would be charging me much more than originally quoted. Unfortunately I only could afford what they originally quoted me and had to scramble last minute to find an emergency pet clinic. This ruined Christmas for my entire family and myself. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! Dr. Celia Megdal, I wouldn't even call her a doctor, wanted to euthanize my cat. My cat got attacked in March by a coyote and upon taking him in, the place was nice and clean and the front desk reception was really sweet and got us checked in. A few minutes, the doctor was able to take a look at him and said that he is actively dying and needs to be euthanized. We told her that he was bleeding and his back legs weren't working. She examined him and said she couldn't find anything punctures and we had to tell her again that we know he is bleeding from somewhere. She genuinely looked annoyed and went back to further look at him and then came and told us that he did indeed have a puncture wound on his lower spine. Before our cat could get further medical attention and receive pain medications even though the doctor didn't recommend it and kept suggesting euthanization. We had to sign a tablet with what procedures we were willing to pay (x-rays, medication, etc.) Right as we were discussing on what we should do, the doctor comes rushing back in and tells us, and by us, I mean myself and my dad, she comes in and tell us, "Your cat is actively dying, we need to something now." Myself in shock and my dad, we just signed the tablet to allow the doctor to give him vaccines and medication and get him checked through an X-ray so our cat can be looked at. Once we signed it, she went back to our cat to attend to him. Once she's done, she comes back with our cat and says that with all the medication they gave him, and looking at him through the x-ray, she believes he won't make it and that he is going to die with the immense pain he's under. Now, we asked if he has internal injuries or if he's bleeding from the inside and nothing. ALL OF HIS ORGANS WERE WORKING NORMAL! He only had the spinal injury and was in pain from it, obviously. The doctor kept saying he needs to be euthanized and we were not gonna do that at all. Mind you, our cat, and we told the doctor, had been attack the year prior by 5 large dogs that were unleashed in our neighborhood and he also had a back injury and made a full recovery. We kept telling her, we can't euthanize him. Our cat is incredibly strong and we believed that he can recover from the injury like any human being that would have gone through a traumatic injury, we wanted to give him a fighting chance. The doctor very rudely said once we made our decision to not euthanize our cat, "I hope you know that this is considered animal abuse." We could not believe she said that. We were disgusted that as a so called "professional" she would say something like that, as I am actively crying my eyes out. She had no sympathy what so ever. After that whole ordeal, she left, and said that we would sign a paper saying that we denied the doctor. A nurse came in later and left us with the pain medication and antibiotics we would give to our cat while he recovers. The nurse was very nice with us. We left right after that and took our cat home. I can happily say that our cat after a few months made a full recovery and both of us legs work just like they always did! If you care for your animal, do not take them here. They are very easy to reach on the telephone during business hours for questions, appointments, to check in on your pet. The facility and grounds are beautiful and well taken care of. My cat, Charlotte, is an extremely anxious girl. I have issues handling her at home even under the best conditions and was terrified of getting her to the vet. However, the staff was so sweet, and kind, and it was the most peaceful experience. She was paired with Dr Faraci and had a thorough exam. I'm also a very anxious mama about my cat and Dr Faraci was so wonderful in reassuring me that Charlotte was pretty much healthy. And the thing I loved about the staff is that no one made me feel crazy about being anxious myself. I felt they took care of Charlotte in the best way possible. What I dreaded so bad turned out to be an amazing experience. As for pricing, Charlotte had literally everything done in terms of testing - which she needed because it had been years since she was checked and I wanted that peace of mind. Pricing was very comparable to other clinics, if not identical. I didn't feel forced into anything, the staff was completely upfront about pricing and showed me the itemized bill BEFORE the services were rendered and made it clear that I could opt out of anything. She was also given special food for her allergies that I could return if she didn't like it, and her first round of flea medicine was free. Dr Faraci called about a week after her appointment and went over all her lab results in detail, and was available for questions which I really appreciated. Been coming to Dr Schneider for over 7 years. The staff is great - Ursula, Sonia, and especially Eddie! My dogs adore everyone but always make a beeline for Eddie lol. I absolutely trust Dr Schneider and his opinions. I never feel like he doesn't listen, or that he's in it for $$$. He's taken amazing care of my fur kids, but especially my Boxer, who has had some serious health issues. Zero stars! At first, I really thought this place was legitimate, but they're just scammers! "Dr." Megdal was so incredibly rude to me and my party on our second visit! She made assumptions she never should have made and even made a nasty comment to my elderly neighbor who I brought along with me. I brought my two newly adopted kittens for a follow up check up which was supposed to be complimentary for a voucher I had for each. I adopted them from a shelter and got VCA vouchers. The first visit was fine. The follow up not so much. The Dr. came in and examined the cats and all she did was tell us to keep treating the cats the way we had been. She claims she did a full examination, which fine, but our appointment was for a follow up check up. Well, she claims it was not. And they tried charging me $154 per cat! I told her I was expecting the exam to be complimentary like the voucher said. She made me go out and get the voucher and told me that people always try to get out of paying and then when my elderly neighbor said she didn't expect we would pay for a complimentary visit the doctor retorted and told her "come on really?" And then said she was trying to be tricky about not having to pay. At that point I lost my patience and started telling her she was being rude, so she called for "witnesses" and 3 people basically cornered me and my elderly neighbor and mom into an exam room and wouldn't let us leave. It was ridiculous!!! We paid the damn fees but I don't appreciate how we were treated or how that Megdal b!&$@ talked to us. NEVER going back and never ever going to another VCA again! I really do love coming here because it's convenient for me and they really do care about helping your pet but they do not care about your financial situation. As soon as you start asking for alternatives, the doctors turn the other way and have their assistants talk to you about pricing. XX is one of them, it really upset me that she didn't come back to say bye or to check up on us at the end of our visit. (I won't mention who...but it was a female Dr.) She wasn't busy either because there was no one else there, so I do feel like I was being avoided, it became awkward. In cases like this, I would ask you to be professional about it and kindly talk to me and anyone else coming to you for alternatives. Went there to get my 16yr old dog seen who had not eaten in 3 days. Called around 2pm before I went and I was told there was no wait to be seen by the triage doctor. Got there and was told it would be an hour wait. Waited for an hour and half and went to check in and was told they weren't sure when I would be seen, that it might be another 2 hours before he was seen. I was willing to wait. Half an hour later around 6pm we were told that there was no way we would be seen that day and that I should take him to the ER in Woodland Hills. We ended up rescuing a cute little street mutt who seems to always have little health issues here and there but we knew we have a fantastic vet in our corner. Had to rush my pup to the vet when he injured his paw digging into a tree root with thorns. They couldn't have been kinder or more professional in how they felt both with us (the pet owners) and our dog. Just received a call from this place, Yvonne, saying they are canceling my appointment because I didn't fill out the preregistration form online. The appointment was for the next day and I did fill out the form online for my free visit for my shelter dog. They call me a day before my appointment. I should have known when it took a month to even get an appointment. The woman was so rude and they call me a day before my appointment. She tells me she can text me the form to fill out now but when I tell her I am at work and can't she says my appointment is canceled. I can make another appointment but not until September 15. When I ask her if she knows if the Complimentary Exam from the shelter with their name on the list has to be done in a certain amount of time, she tells me to look on the voucher but I tell her i don't have it with me. She didn't know anything about the free shelter visit. She hung up on me. I am so upset . UPDATE They are on top of the situation and have been kind enough to give me an appointment. read more

first impressions of this is place is great! i am a first time cat parent so i was greeted by some nice women by the counter and what feels like a safe space for pets. they went through the process of starting off as a new client in the facility with me and were very gentle with my kitty juno. what i loved most was when they went through the options of what i was getting that day and it showed me the charges. they gave me a few minutes to decide before my final decision which felt super comforting. overall, this place is great! i am only giving this a four stars for now because i did ask the vet to check my kitten for fleas and while they did brush her and found nothing, the next day i used the flea comb they gave to me for free and i ended up finding fleas not even a minute in of brushing her. i think they only brushed her neck area once which i did mention to them that it was the area where she was scratching the most. luckily, they did give me a flea medication for free so i'm extremely grateful for it :) read more

Terrible service. The front desk might as well be replaced with robots. There is poor communication and apparently there is only one manager on site that can make decisions. There is no empathy whatsoever. We have a puppy care club account that was past due (our card on file was compromised and we had yet to update the new one). About 3 weeks ago we took our dog in for a scheduled appointment which we confirmed the prior day with an associate from VCA. The associate did not inform us the account was past due nor explained that we wouldn't be seen until it was brought up to date. The next day we show up to our appointment, we were told to call Care club and sort out our balance before we could be seen. We called but due to high call volumes we were on hold. We asked the front desk if we could pay there and we're told no. We waited in the room for 30-40 min, no one checked in and we're still on hold so we decided to leave. About 20 min after we left, j get a call from an associated at VCA asking if we left. I said yes. She replied with "Well were you going to let us know?" The tone in her voice was condescending which was already a red flag but Why would I let them know I left? They did not once check in on us during our 40 min wait and they saw us leave the office. You literally have to walk by the front desk to leave. Our last straw with VCA was yesterday. We called to get an appointment, all we needed was a date, didn't matter if it was for next month, in 3 months or next year. We simply needed to provide proof of a scheduled appointment to get our dog spayed. We brought our account up to date with care club and explained our situation to the associate over the phone. She told us to have the front office at VCA give her a call so she can verbally confirm the account status. We called VCA, the associates were not helpful at all. We were told we needed to wait 24 hrs for an appointment to be scheduled as it was their policy. We tried to explain our situation and that the associate with care club could validate our payment. They did not let us explain, it was very frustrating. I asked for a manager, we were then told she had left for the day. Mind you we called between 2-3pm. There was no one else in charge that we could speak to. Today, the manager Alicia called trying to schedule the appointment to get my dog spayed. I replied and said we no longer needed it and we would like to cancel our service. She replied with ok here's your remaining balance, once paid I can cancel it. Not once did she ask why! As a business I assume you would want to know why a service is being canceled. I asked where can I leave my feedback/complain, to which she replied " I am the office manager so you would be speaking to me". Not once did she show empathy or apologize for any misunderstandings. We take ownership for the balance, however why would anyone want to do business with a company that doesn't hear you out? Even if the appointment couldn't have been done, (which it could have). If the staff at least attempted to help that would have been enough. I understand store policy but I also understand customer service which was not evident during the last 3 interactions I had with VCA. I should have listen to friends who have taken their dogs to VCA for one appointment and never went back because of the negative encounters with the front desk. It is a shame because the veterinarian was great but this office is truly not worth the headache. read more

I got my first pet ever and it is a kitten. The next day which was last Saturday, I took the kitten to the vet. I found this easily on yelp and it is just down the street from where I live. There is a parking lot and it's very beautiful there. Everyone was very friendly inside and I love how they are open on the weekends as well. It cost about $300 to get all of the shots, tests, and the first vet visit. If you check in on yelp you get $10 off the $50 vet visit. I had to come in the next day to drop off a fecal sample for the worms test. The vet is very prompt in calling the next day to give you test results for everything. I'm looking forward to partnering up with the vet to give the best health care to my adorable kitten. Tip: make sure your pet is on a leash or in a traveler... even if your pet is tiny! read more

The vets here would rather cut your animal open rather than monitor the situation. Always looking to charge fees and do the most work. We brought our dog in a couple of months ago because he was limping. They thought it required a ligament repair. We waited it out....observed him and he was fine within a few days. He scraped a tooth the other day and the recommendation was to pull two teeth immediately. Again, we decided to observe and he seems fine today. My own personal opinion is that surgery should be the last effort; not the first. I'm done with them. read more

I've been taking all of my dogs to VCA Chatsworth for over 20 years to see Dr. Susan Milder. Going to the vet can be such a stressful experience for human and animal, but the staff and Dr. Milder have been absolute angels. Even during the lowest, saddest moments when I've had to make the horribly hard decision to put a dog down when it was their time, they've helped me to realize it was the right choice. Dr. Milder and I have an open line of communication via text and email. Whenever I've had a pet issue, she's fit me into her extremely busy schedule. She is the most caring Vet I've ever known and we won't move somewhere else unless she retires. The VCA Chatsworth is not you or your pets friends! Do not Trust them with your pets care! Review is regarding overnight boarding for our dog. Our sweet dog cut her paw while under the care and supervision of the VCA Chatsworth staff. The staff then refused to provide medical treatment for her injury during her stay, unless we paid them. I don't know if she was cut during a playtime session, or if she was cut while in her kennel at the VCA, or if she was injured by a scalpel or knife that was carelessly left by a staff member in the vicinity of all the pets. How can the VCA Chatsworth remain such an unethical business that will not take responsibility for such negligence? When we picked up our dog after a two night stay at the VCA, the staff said she was limping and could not explain why. When inquiring for more information as to how this could have happened, we were presented with a bill for, "Authorization For Medical And/Or Surgical Treatment" instead. Basically if we paid them more money, they could asses her and treat her for getting injured under their, "professional," care! The VCA Chatsworth did not want to be accountable for hurting my dog. Instead of taking this incident as an opportunity to review their boarding facility to make sure it was a safe environment for other boarders, the staff just disregarded this accident and dismissed my dog and our family! On top of that they wanted to make even more money for their negligence! Completely inappropriate and damaging!!! After 10 years of being a faithful client, I am saddened by the lack of care and compassion shown to my beloved pet. I have lost trust that they can provide quality care. If you truly love your pet like we do, please consider a different place to board them. Update: The cut on my dogs paw was a direct result of neglect by those we paid to care for our pet. The bill we were forced to pay to treat her injury is proof of the unprofessionalism of the VCA staff. read more

I've been going to Dr. Suzi's office for close to a decade. Jesus, that's a long time now that I think about it... We went to her when we got our first family dog in 2000, and now that I have my own dog I still go to her. For some perspective, over a decade, between me, my sister, and my parents, she has consistently seen 8 of our dogs. I will admit, CVC is not the most inexpensive veterinary office you can find, but I think the quality that you receive from the staff is well worth it. They always remember my dogs, and they remember my dogs' histories. It's a welcoming feeling. We've had several emergency situations - my parents' dogs have been bitten by coyotes a few times, and we've always been able to be seen as quickly as possible. We've had a couple of more serious issues, and they've been helpful and kind the entire way through. I honestly can't imagine going to any other veterinary office. read more

My dog Quill has been coming here since we rescued him back in 2020 and Dr. Schneider and his team have been amazing! Any issues that have come up, Dr.Schneider always takes time to hear our concerns and works with us on best/ safest ways to resolve them (not always picking medication as the first suggestion too, which is a plus to us as we don't always want our dog on meds if he doesn't need them). The front desk staff are also very friendly and helpful, as they make it easy to schedule appointments, call with follow-ups, and pass messages along to the Doctor when needed (we always get a call back from the Doctor when that happens and are never forgotten). We love knowing our dog is well taken care of here and in good hands because of their expertise and knowledge about pet health. I can't express enough thanks to Dr. Nassi and the staff of Chatsworth Veterinary Center! I have a 13 year old Jindo who is terrified of strangers! This dog is a serious handful and when my family called me to tell me he had an infection on his face I was mortified at the thought of bringing him to the vet! I called 6 different veterinary centers and vets providing home visits. I told them my dog would be aggressive if someone attempted to touch him, they all were pretty rude and lacked any empathy towards my situation. I was getting pretty discouraged until I made a call to the Chatsworth Veterinary Center. After being shot down so many times I was shocked to hear a kind understanding voice on the other side of the line. The receptionist (Cristy) was very consoling and understood where I was coming from. She told me that the facility would be prepared for an aggressive dog and that they would guide me through the process. Cristy was so wonderful! I felt safe trusting my dog to their care and most importantly she was so nonjudgmental. I was already stressed out enough with the situation! When we arrived at the veterinary center was very clean, organized and spacious. They were punctual, professional and very prepared to care for my dog. I was able to walk my dog to the entrance of their holding area without any other animals and people present. They quickly got my dog into the holding area where they were able to treat the wound on his face. In the end the whole experience was not as bad as I thought it was going to be...PLUS I got my dog back the same day! Dr. Nassi took the time to explain what was going on with my dog and what treatments would be necessary. The facility was very transparent with their prices. They quoted me before any interventions were done. All of my questions were answered and Dr. Nassi explained my dogs treatment thoroughly. A lot of people complain about the price... Truthfully it's more expensive than other places I researched but you get what you pay for. They did an excellent job caring for my pet! My dog has been with me for years!
