The moving crew was excellent, but my low rating is because of their low-ball estimate. They came to my home, looked at everything, took photos, then provided an estimate. Their estimate was in line with two other estimates I received, so I chose them because of a family recommendation. When all was done the bill was over twice the estimate. The truck was not large enough for the entire load so it took a second trip, and therefore into a second day to make the 10 mile move. They charged outrageous rates for wooden crates to move glass tabletops, which was not provided to me in the initial estimate. I could have easily moved some of those items myself had I known the cost. Their concession to the 100% error in estimate was one hour of labor on the drive. We used "Compassionate Movers" in August, Citrus Heights. It was a topsy turvy ordeal. They did NOT mark on boxes the rooms it came from, or contents. Horrible UN professional and a nightmare for trying to get at necessary things! But the worst - the crew worked VERY fast, and at one point in the afternoon, the man who seemed to be the leader stood solidly outside, raised his hands to the sky, and proclaimed "I'M DONE!" And left. We assumed that meant they were finished. We have since realized they got tired and took off with a LOT of our things!!! It has taken awhile for us (2 disabled seniors) to realize all that is missing. MANY of my important files (we are retired business people), shoes, clothes, documents ... by now we have opened EVERY box and crate - WHERE ARE OUR THINGS!!!!??? read more

Do not use this company. As soon as they walked in the door there were misunderstandings. They told me that they were not told that I had a washer and dryer when in fact I did tell the owner that I had a washer and dryer and they just told me to make sure that it was unhooked which I did. Then when they were moving one of my pillars for my bed they shipped it and then later they lied about chipping it. They moved myself to my new location and they told me it was $1,800 which I paid them and then when I call them to make sure that they released the hold on my credit card they told me that they forgot to add in the cost of packaging and they wanted to charge me approximately another $250. So in addition they broke the legs on my $3,000 tv. Then they wanted to quibble about that. I finally got that settled and they gave me a $75 credit which means that they were still only overcharge me $161. Now if you're an owner of a business and you make a mistake why are you making your customer eat the mistake. And when I call the owner about them charge me more money he was rude and practically yelling on the phone at me and telling me how I had backed him into a corner and he wasn't at the office and I had a hard time understanding why he was being rude when I was asking a legitimate question about money that was coming out of my pocket. I would never recommend this company do not use them. read more

We used CR Moving Services for our move from Northern CA to the central coast. They provided a fair & accurate quote and had great customer service & communication. We made a mistake and packed both sets of our RV keys in the moving truck and didn't realize the mistake until the truck had already left. I used CR Moving services on very short notice due to another moving company trying to rip me off. I moved a 2 bedroom house. The guys at CR Moving were extremely professional and explained the entire process and pricing. What impressed me most was the price cap they put on the move so that it would never exceed a certain cost. I noticed that other places kept telling me they charged X amount after every 15 minutes over the budgeted time. It was comforting to know that if something happened with a time delay that I wouldn't be overcharged. The movers called before showing up and they showed up on time! They carefully wrapped and handled my furniture, using dollies, ramps, pads, shrink wrap, etc. They even took apart my big dining room table and put it together again at the new house. Further, after seeing that they were making rapid progress and had extra room we ended up taking even more stuff. They were extremely honest, polite, and professional. I would totally recommend them to anybody considering hiring a mover. I had so many coworkers and people telling me to hire some labor guys from Craigslist or find some college kids. But then what? I still had to go get the U-haul, get gas, pay the help, etc. For a little bit more $$ I did nothing and all of my stuff was insured by licensed people who know how to move stuff and NOT bang up my furniture or the walls in the house. Also, I chose CR based on the initial honest and positive impression and conversation I had with one of the owners. I had made a few calls and never received return calls or ended up talking with guys who gave me an uneasy feeling. I will NEVER, EVER move my own stuff again. In response to the owner's comment on 12/11/13: This company obviously says whatever it takes to get your business and then the day of forces you to sign a "Will Not Exceed" contract. This legally allows them to charge you over and above their quote and say "Hey look, you agreed to this! You could have stopped our services at any time." Right, as if you can just up and stop moving. **It should be noted, my bill was not reduced to $428.00; rather I was charged the amount I was forced to sign the day of our move.** read more

I hired this company to move me, store my belongings and then move the belongings several months later. First sign of why I shouldnt have hired them is the owner did not come to the house and look at what was to be moved he had me do face time and go around the house. He provided me with an estimate for the move and the storage. The problem started when he charged me more for the move and more for the storage than what was quoted. I questioned him on this and he did a spin on it and said he moved additional items that were not covered in the contract. I questioned him on a charge of $65 for a box, he said that was to rent the box to move a tv. There were some items that were not moved and some things I added to compensate for what was not moved. They completed the move in the time alloted. I sent him the storage payment, deducting what was his bogus over. He attempted to charge my credit card for these fees and the charges were declined as it was put on a card with a low credit limit. When i called them to set up a time to have them deliver the stored items to me he gave me the run around. He gave me a date and the day prior to that date, i called them to give them a credit card and he said he would not accept my credit card, as I might call the credit card company and put a dispute in. He had no basis for making that statement and said I would have to pay the balance in cash or cashiers check. He cancelled my move date, and he changed the date three times. I mailed him a cashiers check. They then delivered the items to me and I informed them that there were a few items that the crew broke. I sent pictures of the broken items. I had them repaired and paid a company for that. I then sent them a copy of the invoice for the repairs which came to $250. I then sent it them a letter demanding payment for the repair and for the overcharges on the first pick up and the overcharge on the storage. He sent me a text saying he wasnt going to pay the repair bill as it looked suspicious and said the phone number on the bill was disconnected. The phone being disconnected is my issue? I am filing a complaint with the state department that oversees moving companies. Paul Fletcher is immoral, unethical, unprofessional and a cheat. Hidden costs that are not expected... They charged me almost $200 bucks to pull my 3 items out of a storage container without loading them into my truck on a Saturday, I needed to bring my own men to load them. I must admit that my items were wrapped well, and in good condition. read more

By the steps...each progressively well done and professionally managed! The initial survey with Paul was most thorough and resulted in an extraordinarily well researched and presented inventory assessment and cost estimate broken down by labor, weight and volume, and corroborated by a follow-on walk through validation within the house and garden. With a 'month out' timeframe for the move, Paul recommended we complete the move in two phases...a splendid recommendation that allowed us ample time to pack, then load out the first shipment, travel to our new destination and receive the initial delivery...and repeat the process two weeks later for the second shipment (with the new house already partially installed!) Paul provided us with ample 1.5 cf, 3 cf and wardrobe boxes, strapping tape and wrapping paper to allow us to get ahead with owner-packing those things we wanted to do in order to save labor/packing costs. While we had perhaps packed one-half of the initial move, CR's impressive packing crew arrived on schedule (and precisely on the indicated time!) and finished packing the fragile items and first load of furniture (bedroom, kitchen, and dining room). Load out was accomplished the next day in two hours with the same crew that did the packing carrying previously staged items in our garage to a single truck--last in, first out. One member of the family drove down ahead of the delivery truck to receive the first shipment in our new location, which occurred the next day. The actual delivery was quick and most thorough, with the same crew accomplishing set up. The second phase movement went as smoothly as the first, and in the same fashion. Our highest commendations to Paul for overall management of the move, William for 'on-the-ground' supervision, and stalwarts Aaron, Sharif, and Damian, for being 'heavy lifters'. To all: Please accept a hearty 'well done'...having moved over 25 times while in the military, I can honestly say this is the best, most professional move we have ever experienced! BRAVO! read more

Most people don't really like to move. With the help of a CR Moving storage I was able to make my relocation much easier. From the very beginning I was treated with respect and courtesy. From getting the preliminary online estimate, to Paul coming out and giving me a formal estimate, to the actual move it self everything was seamless professional . when it was Evident that we were going to relocate I did a little research on some movers. It seems like most movers wanted either move local under a hundred miles or out of state. Our move was mediocre it was a 350 mile move. CR moving didn't squint or quack about the size of the move , They were just one hundred percent professional did their best to accommodate my family and I are moving of all of our precious items to a new Location. When moveing day finally came I was overly anxious and stressed. William and the other movers said do you not to worry and this is their job and that's what they do . and for me to relax. That is exactly what happened. 2 days after they loaded up they showed up at the new residence unloaded everything put together what had been taken apart left everything clean no damage nothing no complaints whatsoever! I wish I would have known it was this easy to move before. No U-Haul no trying to find friends to bribe with pizza and beer. So much easier and professional. If I ever do need to move again I'm in the area I definitely will help them help me! Not enough good things can be said. Be warned of the last minute document they present to you on moving day that authorizes them to add additional time to the original estimate (in my case an additional $700) in case they go over the time and YES they conveniently went over exactly that additional time and left items on the contract for me to move myself. The assessment/contract clearly stated which items would be moved yet the movers (very nice and professional guys) left all my backyard furniture and a lot of my garage contents from that list for me to move on my own because they ran out of room on the truck. They couldn't find the estimator Ryan or the owner for me to talk too and they never called me back afterwards. The new document that was presented to me on the day of the move that the supervisor had me sign stating 3+ hours may be charged to my credit card left me in a bind on the day of the move with no back up. This was an unjust maneuver to charge me additional funds at the last minute. Why wasn't this shown to me before? Even though I informed them during the estimate that a 28' truck wasn't large enough to move a home with 2200+ footage, the estimator convinced me that 4 guys and a 28' truck will work. The estimate was $1400 and the total ended up being over $2100. For the total cost they charged me, I could have gotten a 53' moving truck. My wife and I boxed up all items that could fit in boxes we purchased and even numbered them for each room so the staff would know which room they go in. All of these items were left in the garage of the new home and we had to sort through them all, move them inside by ourselves. On the day of the move, the moving supervisor attempted several times to contact someone, but couldn't get a response. It was the responsibility of the assessor to estimate how many movers, size of the truck, etc to ensure that ALL items on the contract were moved. NOTE: I consider myself an honest and calm individual but the method in which this was done and to charge me the additional 3 hours without compensating me back for what was left by this company because the truck got full was shady. Katlin, the office manager was exceptionally kind and understanding and the movers were nice and professional as well but that doesn't excuse not assessing this move properly, leaving me to move items that were on the contract and charging me more because of a document they conveniently showed me on the day of the move that left me with no choice. I attempted to work out an agreement to balance out the difference but had to claim the entire $700 through my bank. Today I was notified that because of that document I signed I have to give them the money back. Assessing a reasonable and agreed estimate with a signed contract doesn't justify showing up on moving day with an additional document to justify "possibly" charging an additional $700 and conveniently doing just that. Does this sound fair? I'm only stating facts and I hope they change their procedures. read more

We utilized CR for packing household goods for a long distance move (Seattle company). They estimated 3 days, but only packed for 1 1/2+ days. On the final day, things were just being thrown into boxes with no wrapping or sorting. The long distance movers were not happy with the way boxes were not properly packed, and had to re-pack some of those boxes. Their charges were rather high, particularly for the services as received. read more

We found ourselves in need of a moving company. I called everyone I could think of and even did an internet search. Unfortunately in the times of Covid, no one, I mean no one wanted to help us move or they demanded a godawful minimum of like 8 hours or some such nonsense. Then Paul answered the phone at CR, Inc. and he said "Sure we can help" From that moment on, I had nothing else to worry about. They had everything a person would need including amazing customer service. He made sure we had all the boxes we needed (we already had them) he provided mattress covers for beds and when the moving crew discovered that one of the mattresses was going to be stored for a while in the garage, they made sure that mattress and covering were air tight. We were quoted just under $1000 to move a 2 story 2000 sq. ft house moved to 35 miles away to a one story 1550 sq ft. home. It was handled in under 4 hours (now the speed in which this huge move was done in was probably due to the fact that my husband used to be a mover and we had all boxes already at the new place, just needed the heavy furniture moved so not everyone can get that kind of speedy service) A few days before the move, I got a call and they asked if I needed anything else and asked how things were going. Day before move they called and asked for payment information and reassured me that the card would not be charged until after the move and after I received the actual billing. And true to their word, that's how it happened and we were only charged a tad over $700. for the whole project. Every phone call, every interpersonal contact was professional and courteous. Moving is daunting at best, but Paul and his crew of professionals (which included his assistant Princess in the office) made it easy peasy. The movers themselves were kind, professional and on top of the move. They had great sense of humor and even had us giggling during what is supposed to be hectic and crazy time) They were organized and efficient. I appreciated CR, Inc. They were very professional and careful packing my items and took care of my furniture, which made me feel more confident that they would take care of my stuff when transporting it. Before I hired movers I read reviews. I got several quotes and met with as many movers as possible. I had a good feeling about CR Moving from the very beginning. We had just purchased a brand new home and we're moving my parents into one wing. I felt that CR could do the best job because of their focus on the elderly. Boy am i glad that I chose them! They followed-up with us the day before the move and arrived a few minutes early the day of the move. The workers were friendly and efficient and respected my stuff. They took great care in wrapping things, packing, covering furniture with blankets and loading it all up on the truck. They even helped me direct the arrival of a new dresser and desk that I had arranged to be delivered at the same time. I will always use them for my moves from now on. I will also refer all my friends to their company. My husband was called away in the middle of the move. I used CR Moving Services recently to move my in-laws in Roseville and let me just say I am more than happy with the services they provided us! My husband and I (with the help of a few family members) would normally move them ourselves, but we have been so busy at work that with our hectic schedules, we had to call in the calvary and have professional help. I was so skeptical with all the stories I had heard about moving companies, and had a few come out and give us quotes, but after meeting with Ryan, I was assured that everything would get taken care of and we could do as much or as little as we wanted. Let me just say that I will never use another company! CR took such good care of us! To save money we decided to pack everything ourselves and on move day, the crew not only showed up on time (actually maybe like 5 or 10 mins early) but they called ahead to let us know they were on their way. They were very careful, as mother in law has various sentimental items, to handle everything with care. Not a single thing was broken, scratched, or damaged! There were a couple of pieces of furniture that were not only extremely heavy but had to be disassembled and brought down the stairs as well. And they made this look easy!! It was a really long day for us, but it actually came down to about a half our difference of the quote we were originally given. At the end of the day the most important thing was that my father in law and mother in law looked so happy and relaxed to finally be moved into their new home. read more

WARNING: Do NOT use this company! They will rip you off! We have moved many times over the last few years and this was by far the worst of all. This company was extremely unorganized and inefficient. The movers stood around talking and smoking all throughout the day. One truck sat at the new house for an hour waiting for other truck because they didnt have runners to start the unload process and this is time we had to PAY for. Our move was supposed to be completed in one day, and it ended up taking two. We did not expect to have to spend the next day moving in as wel, which was a huge inconvenience for our family as we had not been prepared for this. Also, the truck that did not get unpacked had all our last minute items, so we were left the first night in the new house without any toiletries, important belongings, and critical things for our baby. This is totally unacceptable. Our time is valuable too. On day 2, we were forced to sign a contract that virtually doubled our original bid because we were threatened that they were going to drop all our stuff on the driveway and leave. Our move was local, one mile away, 2900 sq ft home and bid was supposed to be $2100, very close to the other 2 quotes from other companies. This moved ended up costing $4500! We are certain that once seeing our new house and neighborhood, they profiled us and basically forced us to pay more. The fact that they charge hourly when many of the guys stand around (putting our basic bed frames together was a joke, and one mover stood there while my wife and I screwed in pieces to hurry the process). This is the WORST company ever. Very dishonest. Do not use! RUN AWAY FROM CR Moving & Storage! read more
