THIS IS MY FAVORITE PLACE IN CEDAR PARK! My husband and I come here regularly, especially during crawfish season. I don't care what anyone says, this is hands down the BEST crawfish you will ever have. I am comparing this locally to Crawfish Shack, Deckhand Oyster Bar, and Moutons Bistro. It is always cooked perfectly and super juicy and flavorful from the citrus of the oranges. We also love their fried clams and the fried combo. Chicken fried steak is a huge portion and very delicious. Sweet tea is amazing as well and it comes in little pitchers to drink out of. Oh! I almost forgot! Get. The. Oysters. Rockefeller. Now. This place is amazing! Good quality seafood with reasonable prices. Th shrimp diablo is well fried and season. The Cajun shrimp is different from elsewhere. It has a creamier texture and goes perfectly with the baguette. The baguette is in Viet style which gives a softer and fluffier interior. The lobster is huge and interestingly flavored. Not sure if I like the black pepper and bell pepper cooking style but it's a good experience. The servers are nice and attentive. The ambiance is the classic Texan bar style. I have driven by this place many times over the years and it wasn't until a friend recommended it that I tried it & I am happy that I did. It doesn't look like much on the inside but the food coming out of the kitchen was delicious. We started with the charbroiled oysters which were HUGE! They were nothing like New Orleans oysters but they were decently tasty. Ordered the shrimp and avocado cocktail as well which was served with thick chips, had more of a sweet like taste but very good. I ordered the lobster and shrimp ravioli and ooooh was this the best thing ever!! Great prices, especially at lunch. I've had the shrimp and the catfish and both were good. Service is thorough but not overly friendly. Both times I have been there they have only two servers for what I guess is 20-25 tables. So the servers are spread too thin when there is a crowd and they don't have adequate time to make any small talk or make the customers feel at home. Mashed potatoes were cold and lacking flavor. Green beans weren't as fresh as I would have liked. It has been years since we have been to Surf and Turf. While the servers are always very friendly, the food was just ok. I had the chargrilled oysters and while they were very buttery, they really didn't have that much flavor and were definitely not grilled. They were prepared in the oven. I'd say they have waiting space inside the restaurant for 5 - 6 and a couple of benches outside that will handle another 5 - 6. This seems to be a very busy place, with tables set very closely together and a lot of to-go traffic, too. It took us 20 - 30 minutes to get seated. . The service was quick and friendly. The biggest disappointment is the only diet soft drink is Pepsi; I ended up with sparkling water. In Texas, if you're serving Pepsi products please give customers an option of diet Dr. Pepper. I'll admit, if I can't get Diet Coke or diet Dr. Pepper, I'm not going to enjoy my meal as much. The place is loud, bright, and clean. Food was great. This is a small restaurant that once you go in you realize the food will be homemade.It's very simple but the food is simply amazing! Portions are very big. I had lunch and dinner that day. My husband and one daughter had the broiled tilapia and they were very happy with their choice. My other daughter had the lobster ravioli and she said it was the best one she has ever had. I could see the pieces of lobster and she mentioned the sauce was just perfect. I am gluten free so I asked our server for a recommendation. We kept going weekly for another 18 months, until we figured out that the seafood diet wasn't making any noticeable dent in health by way of lab blood-work test results. Nothing ever changed for me in regards to eating seafood and ascertaining what is good and what is normal. Even went back 3 months after our last visit and there was no discernable difference in "taste" for me. I'm just not a seafood person. Customer service-wise, though, they are still killing it. Wait staff keeps tabs on you for refills or to make sure everything is ok. The wait time from ordering to receiving food was always consistent and the food prep itself was always consistent, from the steamed vegetables to the fish, so the cook in the back is experienced. And the wait staff does not have high turnover so they remember who you are. read more

I chose and shared the chicken fried steak with two sides, i went with asparagus and a house salad with blue cheese ($6.99). Wifey had the popcorn shrimp and fries with a cup of gumbo($7.99) Our server Lisa took very good care of us. In years past I came in this restaurant at least once a week. I will admit it's been a while since I've been around. When I went in the door I waited for at least five minutes before anybody decided that I should sit down. Once he took my order I didn't see him again until he dropped the food and never saw him again until I flagged him down to get the bill. The food tasted fine and it came out in a reasonable amount of time however customer service is still important. My drink was empty and there was nobody around to bring me anything else to drink. If my food had been terrible nobody stop by to ask me. In the past customer service has not been an issue but last night was definitely an issue. We have driven past CR a gazillion times and I always think I've got to try this place as it has great reviews. Well we finally put our thoughts into action and actually stopped in. The menu is 90% Cajun with a smattering of additional offerings. When we were there it was evident that we were surrounded by regulars ordering heaping plates of fried offerings and of course mud bugs. Minor nit alert. CR has pretty extensive menu which throws me off for the obvious reasons (#Cheesecake Factory). I ordered, outside the box, the seafood and sausage jambalaya which is served over a bed of linguine. Plus 1 ordered the broiled salmon. Our heaping plates arrived, and our first words were wow that's a pretty bountiful portion. My dish was seasoned perfectly and had the proper amount of seafood and sausage. The salmon and veggie plate were cooked exactly as ordered and plus 1 barely finished her dinner, so as usual I mopped up the remaining salmon. CR has a pretty good beer and wine list, nothing spectacular but the food is what will bring us back. Service is friendly and competent and a like the chill local vibe here. read more

This place is a hidden gem! We (hubby and I) were looking for a place to have dinner after we had work in the area. Not being very familiar with the Cedar Park area, we turned to our fellow Yelpers for guidance. When CR Surf and Turf came up, we both thought it looked good and decided we'd try it. So, it doesn't look like much from the outside. If I had been just driving past, I probably wouldn't have stopped. But whoa....I'm glad we did. We decided to have the clam strips basket as a starter. I then ordered the lobster ravioli and my hubby ordered the 14 oz Ribeye. When our "starter" arrived, it was piping hot, crispy and delicious. Ok, we're off to a good start! When our entrées arrived, I got a whiff of mine as it was placed in front of me. Wow, this smells goooood! I wasn't disappointed. The ravioli were amazing, Perfect pillowy-filled greatness. That first bite.....OMG. Yeah, that good. (Oh, side note...I did ask to have the entrée without the bell peppers). The sauce was so plentiful with big chunks of lobster and crab, perfectly cooked asparagus and mushrooms. My hubby's steak was cooked perfectly. By the way his eyes were rolling back in his head, I'd say he was enjoying! This is a wonderful but unassuming place. Everyone there is very friendly. It appears to be a family run business. Surf and Turf is my favorite restaurant, been there 20 times in past 2 years. It's informal but the food is reliably delicious. Their seafood gumbo is my go- to order and is full of shrimp, fish and always a lobster tail. I frequently order the flatiron steak - tenderest most flavorful steak in town for only $20 including 2 sides, fried shrimp tacos with the best pico in town, oyster poor boy, or an oyster platter - raw or Rockefeller. It's hard to find good Cajun food so I'm glad this place exists nearby. Food is delicious, prices are very affordable, and portions are huge, what more can you ask for. So far we've gotten the Cajun Fried Rice, Shrimp Kabob, Fried Crawfish Tacos, and Shrimp/Crawfish by the pound. I especially like the Cajun Fried Rice because it is spicy and seasoning is perfect. There is a lot of crawfish in the dish so you'll get some in every bite. Plus, a dozen oysters here is ~$10, which is very affordable, where else can you find fresh oysters for this price. Everything is fairly priced, but slightly in the bland side, we ended up putting Salt, Hot sauce, A1 sauce to add some flavor. I definitely recommend the scampi for appetizer! They do charge 18% gratuity for our large party then offer an additional tip. The only thing was that it was so freezing, the ac was definitely cranked all the way on, so within a few minutes of our food sitting everything started to taste cold. It was about $200 for 5 meals.
