Buss Down Blues Combo and 4. Full Combo

I guess I was supposed to order the sauce separately. This was dry and unseasoned. I'm also sure this is not a half pound of the ingredients. Maybe a half pound all together. I also got the Seafood Macaroni and cheese which had NO cheese. Pics looked good on Instagram. Don't be fooled.

    Overcooked old shrimp.

We got ALFREDO and a FULL COMBO. The Alfredo was good. The FULL COMBO was the issue. 1 shrimp was good and the rest were mushy and falling apart. The egg had a gray ring around it. The sausage was meh. There was zero flavor. The crab legs, corn and potato were the only items not overcooked. Never again.

I pre-ordered for a pull up in Reston, Virginia. I ordered half a dozen buss down large male crabs and a crabcake. My total was $80. The flavor was good but these crabs are definitely not large male crabs. They are hardly even medium crabs and more along the lines of catch them and throw them back so they can grow a little bit more because I feel bad like I'm eating baby crabs ! The crabcake was also about $26 for a single crabcake. You got me once but you won't get me again! If you delivered the crab size that you indicated then this would've been a five star review. The single crabcake was also sad for $26.

    The shrimp was not cleaned

Had to wait over three hours for the food it was horrible dry and the Owner refused to acknowledge his wrongdoing and offer any compensation

My camera made the food look good but the taste was average. I had to doctor it up.

Disappointed. I saw the marketing on IG social media and it seemed like the services and the food were good and I kept telling myself I'd go check it out to support the black own business. We'll I received a message that Crab Boss would be in my area, so I decided to take advantage of that. I had my sister place the order since I wouldn't be able to pick it up to make a long story short she texted me to let me know they sent her a message after 6 pm and the pickup time was 6:30 pm. She was already on the train. They Said they had issues with the transportation, they said they would be there at 8 pm NOPE they showed up after 9 pm with several people waiting with no apology unacceptable. I did send a message before they arrived asking for a refund and still crickets. I received the food since they never responded to my refund. The crablegs look good. The shrimp weren't deveined, and the potatoes overcooked. The egg was the best out of the dish. I would not recommend it at all and I usually would've even left a message but the last-minute communication is unacceptable and then no response not GOOD at all. I pray Crab Boss takes this feedback and better their service and the food!

We got a couple of the little boss/a dozen extra large crabs and the crabcake platter!! sausage was good corn was good.

Crab boss said they were coming to Fredericksburg I was super excited. I looked over the reviews and you haters gotta stop. The food was absolutely delicious, crabcakes were on fire extra large crabs were so meaty. The customer service was great as well.

I don't enjoy leaving bad reviews, but some times it's just necessary. Today I placed an order at noon online. My order was for $143.08. I was so excited because it's my sisters birthday and we've been craving crab legs. I was referred to this restaurant and couldn't wait to try it. Upon arrival, I parked on the side of the building and waited until 12:36, when my order said it would be ready. I got there a little early because I have my newborn baby with me and didn't want to rush. In my online order, I selected curbside pick up. Once my online order was approved, they sent me a confirmation text with a link to notify them of my arrival. I then waited in my car to the order to come out. Around 12:40 I began to call to see if someone could bring it out- remember my newborn is with me, and I didn't want to have to unload her in the rain to go inside. No one is answering. At 12:45 I decide to take her out of the car and go to the door. The lights are off and the door is locked. What is more upsetting than the $143.08 is the waste of time. I drove 30 minutes here and waited over 30 minutes for nothing. This was a miserable experience with a newborn who was just crying the entire time because she needed changed and fed. What a great birthday for my sister. I have left a voicemail and emailed the restaurant about my order. I am still waIting to be refunded for food I never received. I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Waiting for my platter! Had to take a selfie haha

Yo girl been trying to eat a little healthier and was looking for some baked or grill fish. This restaurant did deliver. The grill tilapia and broccoli was pretty good. The portion size was on point. My son wanted their crab cake burger which I had to taste and it was delicious. They offer mumbo sauce with their fries and it is banging. Got a nice little kick to it. The corn on the cob is so so. Its not bad but I just had better. Its too greasy for corn on the cob too. So confused about that. Any who, I spent $40 for everything which was reasonable for 2 meals. I will definitely be back to try other menu items. The cashiers here are super friendly which is always appreciated because its seems like people are losing basic manners. So thanks ladies for your kindness it didnt go unnoticed. Would I recommend this restaurant, yeah I would. Its not spectacular but its pretty good and you get enough food for the price. That itself is worth it. So go and visit so we can keep restaurants like this open in our community.

There are surprising number of chicken options here for a place called, "This Is Seafood", but not quite as many seafood options as I hoped. I was really looking forward to getting an order of fried scallops for lunch and I was a little disappointed they didn't have them on the menu. I decided to get the Combo #4: 3 whole wings, 6 fried shrimp, and my choice of 1 piece of fish and side dish. For my fish, I chose fried catfish and for my side I chose hush puppies. The combo also came with a fountain drink. I decided to mix their house-made lemonade and house-made iced tea and it made the perfect half-and-half. The wait wasn't too bad, as the food was being freshly made. It was piping hot and crispy when I received it. Those shrimp were huge! Some of the biggest fried shrimp I've ever had...And not those butterfly shrimp either. Whole shrimp, and the tail was removed so I didn't have to worry about accidentally crunching on one of the shells. The catfish was delectable! Perfectly seasoned, delightfully crispy, and absolutely melted in my mouth. So good. I'm coming back for the catfish if nothing else. The wings were perfectly fried, nice and crispy, but they were a bit too light on the seasoning for my taste. And the mumbo sauce tasted too similar to barbecue sauce. I did not like that, so I ended up saving the rest of the wings until I got home to put my own mumbo sauce on them. The hush puppies were also really good. I like that they were fried perfectly and weren't greasy... Even after reheating them. Overall, my lunch cost me about $25 and it was enough food for at least two meals. Can't beat that. I'll be back for that catfish.

I was unable to enjoy or finish my 90-minute meal because I did not like the sauce that was served, yet there seemed to be little willingness to accommodate or adjust the dish to my preferences. As a paying customer, I believe there should be more flexibility when a guest is dissatisfied with part of their meal. While the service was pleasant, the strict policies and unwillingness to make reasonable adjustments left me with a disappointing experience. I am not one to say this but I do not recommend this place at ALL. In response to owner: Thank you for the quick reply. I appreciate that you chose not to charge me a waste fee. However, I would like to clarify that this was only my second sauce selection change. My goal was simply to order something without sauce so I could enjoy the remainder of my 90-minute dining experience. Unfortunately, the meal did not meet my expectations and, in my opinion, was not worth the price. As a customer, I believe there should be more flexibility when someone is dissatisfied with an item, especially when reasonable alternatives are available. There are several other restaurants that offer similar dining experiences at a lower price point and without what I feel is an excessive gratuity charge. While I appreciate your response, the overall experience left me disappointed and unlikely to return.

With that being said, I recommend calling your order in ahead of placing it on-line. The owner, Kim, is awesome. She is very friendly and full of personality. She gets to know her regulars and loves her community. As for my food, there was a ton of it. The Philly was packed with meat. I really liked my sandwich. The Mac and cheese was delicious. I love a server who doesn't hover but always checks to see if everything is going well. She def rocked! I have been so excited to get on and share how incredible this place is since we left. My husband asked if I wanted to go back, within the week. This is *UNHEARD* of. I don't know if he has ever loved a restaurant so quickly and so MUCH. He's been craving seafood boils for a few days now, so he suggested we go this afternoon. We went around 3-4pm. The crowd was minimal, but still, there were probably 15-20 tables full. It's a nice sized restaurant , about the size of a "pub"/local dive bar. The hostess was really welcoming (no eye rolling or impatience!!). She greeted us with a smile and a kind gesture and promptly sat us in a booth. The entire restaurant was clean, whimsical and smelled like old bay and garlic. Great art and seafood accoutrements all over the walls and booths The music was 2000s R&B and couldn't have been more perfect. Our server was incredible. We were given two very easy to understand menus and a "basket" of popcorn! It tasted like movie theater popcorn , our cups which were paper cups and a paper table cloth which lent to the "crab house" vibe we love so much, "seafood sauce" (mayo based siracha sauce think, with old bay? - it's like a spiced Big Mac sauce), clarified butter, cocktail sauce, gloves, a garbage pail, crab cracker tools and plastic silverware, and wet wipes and bibs (which I used because of course I visited in a white shirt!) After no more than a 10-15 minute wait, we had our boils "Rocked and Tossed" right to the table!! Seasoning 100% covered everything!! We ordered: Freshly brewed, 1/2&1/2 sweet/unsweetened tea. (It was very reminiscent of Chick-Fil-A tea/McDonald's tea...the good kind!) Not overly iced. So delicious!! Husband: 1 combo boil with snow crab legs, sausage and extra corn, (comes with corn and potatoes), garlic seasoning and medium heat. His garlic sauce smelled to die for. Very well rounded, (I tasted it). It had sliced garlic in it and wasn't too salty at all. The medium heat wasn't too hot, but don't take my word for it, get the heat level you like. His crab legs pulled *perfectly*. The sausage was wonderfully Smokey with that crispy/crunchy edge. The corn was tender and juicy, not overly cooked and the potatoes melted like butter. Me: 1 combo boil with snow crabs and crawfish and added hard boiled eggs (also comes with corn and potatoes), "Rocking Bomb" seasoning (old bay, garlic, lemon pepper, Cajun). *I have never had crawfish THIS good in my entire life.* I genuinely cannot describe the euphoria I had with words, but I'll try. They weren't muddy/fishy. They absorbed the flavors so well, yet preserved the firm but tender texture of the meat. They were very easy to break into, just like the crab legs. Nothing got stuck or jammed. The eggs were a balanced addition, soaking up all that awesome flavor. I ate one half way through and the second at the end. Again, nothing was abnormally fishy. Seafood can, at times, taste a little too oceanic. Everything came out piping hot, but not so hot you couldn't tear right into it. Both boils were nice and buttery. We tried using the gloves but ended up tossing them. They have sinks right in the open so it is easy to get up and wash up if you get too messy. (The bathrooms are on the smaller side - with the women being two stalls, and I didn't see any others, so the extra sinks really come in handy). There was a very kind gentleman bussing tables. He was fast and thorough. He was very pleasant to us as we walked by him. Very courteous!!! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Literally nothing was bad. I cannot wait to go back and hope they stay in business for a millennia to come. I believe we found THE best seafood boil restaurant in all of Maryland!!

The first course, the ceviche paired with the "Blazin' Britches" cocktail, was a great start and immediately let me know this 5-course experience was going to be something special. The food and drink pairings were creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented throughout the night. My favorite courses were definitely the earlier ones, especially the shrimp stack and cocktails. The atmosphere felt fun and social, and overall the event felt worth the price. There were only two things I personally was not a fan of: the sea bass and the Espresso-Chino cocktail. The sea bass just wasn't for me, and unfortunately two of my friends got sick after eating it, one that same night and the other the next day after reheating leftovers. I only had a small bite myself because I didn't really enjoy the taste. The Espresso-Chino was also very strong, and I couldn't finish it. Even with those issues, I would definitely come back for another pairing dinner or special event. The inside is lowly lit and the music was great, definitely a vibe in there and I can understand how despite their reviews they have a solid patron base. We ordered: Strawberry Lemon Drop - 10/10 no notes Calamari - 8/10 - great texture but a small portion at that price point. I prefer mine with a remoulade and they only serve it with sweet chili sauce. They had remoulade with the catfish nuggets but when I asked the waitress she said remoulade was the salad. When I tried to explain that no it was a sauce she just said they didn't have it......ok. Deviled eggs with crab - 8/10 - they were ok. The eggs were a little overcooked to my liking but they were horrible. Wings - 10/10 - sweet and spicy, great crunch. Crabbed stuffed salmon - 6/10 - came with two sides and he got rice and spinach. It was just ok but at $42 you wanted it to wow you. There is an automatic 18% gratuity regardless your party size so that's something to look out for. Overall it was a bit overpriced to my liking for a location that's not more like a local bar than anything.
