I came here specifically for their hot stone bun bo hue and it did not disappoint! We ordered 4 bowls & the food came out quick. They serve the veggies, noodles and rare beef on the side so you can add it yourself. I love how the soup stays hot the whole time you're eating. What an interesting place. Ate at 12:50 on a Friday at lunch. Place was pretty empty maybe 3-4 tables. Got the fried catfish and shrimp platter (they were out of oysters because it was a busy night last night). Also got one pound of the boiled crawfish medium spice. Shrimp were fried perfectly and tasted ok but seemed fried. Not a big deal. Small portion of cocktail sauce and had to get two. Catfish was fried and good but the batter was kind of falling off so I'm guessing it was too wet when frying, though cooked perfectly otherwise. No tartar sauce available, given ranch instead. Fries were standard beer battered fries. Crawfish were served with potato and corn. The spice was solid! Lots of garlic which is fine because you really only use it to flavor the boil and it did the job! But I can see why it might intimidate. Crawdads were solid. No bad ones and fairly large. Overall not 100% the Vietnamese crawfish experience I'd heard about from my friends in Houston but happy I went. A lot of confusion from the front to the back! Abby oir server was new, but kind and eager to learn. We started with Onion Rings(my husband loves onion rings and is a dead ringer to order them if on any menu). They were crisp and hot and cooked well. The problem came with the entree. I ordered Snow Crab Legs in the traditional sauce and spice level. The were good sized, hot and succulent in a sauce that was full of garlic with a light spice. My husband ordered CS 15, Stir-fried Glass Noodles with Shrimp and crab. What he got as you can see below, was Flat-Noodles with Mussels, Scallops, Shrimp, and Calamari which is not even on the menu. The bartender noticed us trying to flag down Abby and politely asked what we needed. Of course we explained that although the dish actually tasted GREAT, it was not what we ordered. He confirmed that Yes, these are not Glass Noodles and that no the dish was not correct. He explained that the wait staff was new(They just opened opened Sept. 1st) and he would bring it to her attention. When Abby returned to our table, she apologized explaining that the Chef told her that this was for her table( we get it, she's new and didn't know if the dish was correct or not, so she leaned on the knowledge of the Chef). After speaking with the Chef, Abby informs us that the Chef said the dish was in fact CS15. After going back and forth, the Chef finally admitted that the dish was not exactly as described in the description because they were out of Crab, so he gave him other seafood items to make up for it. Yet, that does not explain why he got the wrong noodles, nor does it explain the fact that I received the Crab legs that I ordered, but they're out of Crab? This could have went very badly, if my husband was allergic to the substitutions he made without informing the server, nor my husband as the customer. Needless to say, we paid for the food and left. I just feel bad for the table that was already seated behind us, when we arrived and STILL hadn't received ANY of their food when we left. read more

Being they just opened Sept 1, we were aware they may still be getting into thr rhythm of things. Honeselty, after a rough start with a new server and a bad entree we were ready to walk out. Then restaurant coordinator came over and sat with us to go over the menu and make recommendations of the house favorites. She complete turned the outing around for us and we left with a smile on our face and because of her we will likely be back to try more of the chef specialities! Please give them a try and be patient, they are absolutely trying their best and the fried catfish po boy and crab city fried rice were fantastic! No knowledge of any menu items and how they should be served. (not her fault because of new restaurant and labor crunch). Would've been a bigger issue if not for... The Ugly: Ordered 2 pound of KING CRAB pictured at 49.95 /pound. I was in shock and almost had a heart attack when I saw the size. Pictures will show my ENORMOUS index finger compare to the size and the KING CRAB. Maybe I should've taken the pictures with the finger to the right of my index as it would've been comparable. Not good at all. We were there about 2:30 on a Fri afternoon. Not busy at all, however the parking lot seemed rather full. The only good thing (and now I wonder how good this actually is) was the male host who seated us. Very broken english but oddly attentive. We were never asked for our drink order but brought 2 ice waters right after we were seated. We got the appetizer sampler (2 spring rolls, 2 "egg" rolls, 2 shrimp rolls=2 shrimp just wrapped in egg roll wrapper & deep-fried and NOT de-vained ). The "egg" roll is pictured. Shrimp, sliced beef, LOTS of lettuce & what I assume was rice. The wraping, or casing was just NOT good. My husband seriously compared it to a condom. It was neither hot or cold but was room temp. I ordered the chicken fried rice. It was very bland, no egg, no peas, overcooked diced chicken and very unappetizing looking rice. My husband got the RD4-grilled pork with fried egg (not pictured). It was awful as well. Not served hot, lacking flavor & served with a "side salad" which consisted or lettuce, tomato & cucumber. There was only one other person in the restaurant who was sitting in the booth behind us. He complained about his meal to our server/host as well. As I mentioned, the host was very accommodating and attentive. So much so that it was odd. After he delivered our appetizer plate, he stood behind the bar and watched us eat it. Freaked me out. My chicken fried rice was HUGE and a ton of it. Because it was not flavorful & not appealing to look at, I ate very little of it & asked for a to-go box. Our server/hostess kept asking (again very broken english) how it was, if I liked it and why I didn't eat much of it. Over all a very awkward and bad experience for almost $50 for just the 2 of us. We watch a lot of cooking shows & seriously felt that Gordon Ramsey was going to come out of the back and find we were on an episode of Kitchen Nightmares and/or like the documentary of Jeffery Dahmer when he "made" the food and then watched intently as people ate it. Just moved here a few weeks from Cali and was looking for a place that can fulfill that authentic but Americanized flavor seafood. Came across this restaurant on my Yelp review. After reading all the reviews we decided to give it a try. Flavor is right on point. Not MSG after taste which is a super plus. Decors was quite fun and put us right into the mood for some seafood. Servers were attentive, friendly, and very helpful. And on top of that it is super close to our a new home. Didn't get to meet the owner like other yelpers but it's all good. While staying at Garland city for a family reunion, we were looking for some authentic and flavorful Vietnamese food. The restaurant came up first in our search. We decided to give it a try. Restaurant decors were very beautiful and hip, and quite modern for an Asian restaurant. We ordered the whole baked catfish which is amazingly good. There were four of us and we were fully fed. Went in for a drink and dinner. I guess I expected too much. I ordered a drink and they got it wrong. Sadly that was the best part of the evening. My wife ordered her meal and of course I ordered at the same time. They attempted to bring my wife 2 times 2 orders that were for other diners. They finally got her order right but then they informed me my order would be ready 25 minutes later. We came in together expecting to eat together, was I expecting too much? They brought her order out and THEN advised me my order would be an additional 20 minutes longer. I then requested my meal be a to go order. So I waited and asked for my salad to be brought out and it wasn't what I had requested; a house salad with ranch dressing. I was brought an oriental type salad with a "house" dressing, it was good but again not what had ordered. I did eat it and then after I was done I was informed the meal I had ordered would be an additional 20 minutes. I told the wait staff to cancel my order as my wife had already completed enjoying the meal she had been served. I am having a very hard time understanding how this event turned into the worst experience I had ever encountered.
