First impression, classic small town Texas honky tonk, the kind that makes you feel like you just stepped into a country song. Fridays offer free dance lessons starting at 7 PM, taught by an awesome couple who make even two left feet look good after 90 minutes lol. Young adults 18-20 can enter on Friday nights only. It's slow, but honestly having the dance floor to practice was super fun. Saturday nights.. poppin' and packed! They often have a live band starting around 8 PM. There's no info anywhere about reservations or tickets, but judging by how packed it was by 10 PM, I'd bet it's a first-come, first-served deal. The crowd was a great mix of young and old, 50/ 50 men women ratio, something for everyone from line-dancing to two-stepping to slow dancing. This former competitive western dancer gives the dance floor two thumbs up! It's half the size of Red River but big enough to enjoy. TIP: There's a cozy bar area away from the music if you'd rather sip than spin. Great AC and fans so you don't melt in your boots lol. Randomly stumbled upon Ranch House and I am SURE glad that I did! The vibe is super low key and divey, and I LOVE IT! The staff is so friendly and kind. The bartender was absolutely fabulous! The Ranch House is pretty large, larger than I was expecting! It is a great spot to go two stepping and the dance floor is magical! They also have live bands which was a really nice touch. Have been here several times in large groups and have always enjoyed the service and bands. Went on 7/22/23 and had a completely different night. First, the drinks (shots of tequila and fireball) were weak and appeared watered down. The bartender had problems pouring the fireball (out of the freezer) which is a sign of watered down alcohol. This place is just a good old fashioned honky tonk. We rolled up about 10pm and the (huge) parking lot was already packed and already sprayed with puke in a couple of spots. Someone started early! The place is deceptively large. I've been driving by this place for almost ten years and always thought it was just a little hole in the wall. It's fricking huge! A good 100 yards or so long with two bar areas, pool tables, and a large dance floor. The band Saturday night was actually outstanding (The Terry Allen band). The drinks cheap. The waitresses SMOKING hot. Ding, ding, ding--we have a winner. The crowd was really diverse, everybody from the traditional cowboys in their starched shirts, ironed wranglers, & 20X Resitols to drunken cougars in too tight mom jeans to 20-something douchebags to 50 year old couples two-steppin' out on the big dance floor. This place is a joke. They are open on Friday and Saturday night because the owner is an idiot. I spent $100+ a night for months every week for poker, but now I'm banned until he looses it because I snuck out a $3 beer out one night, my bad I was drunk, I got away with it. These morons banned me over one $3 incident, I didn't start a fight, or cause a problem. FYI once you walk-in you can't leave, no re-entry, if your a woman no purse can be brought in "because of the shootings in California" in actuality the owner is loosing money and goin to the parking lot to do a shot will bankrupt him, 10 years ago this was an awesome place, now it's a joke. Had a meeting out in the country a little bit, right at lunch, so when i got out of there i was hungry and looking for a deal. I found it, to say the least. A huge sign that just said "Burgers and Beer" called me in like it knew me. When i walked in and found a huge dancehall to the left, still cooling down from the night before, i felt at home. When the owner said "howdy, sit where ever you like" and pointed to the bar area that was half wood paneling and half aluminum paneling, i felt at home. When everyone else was drinking at lunch on a Thursday, i felt at home. When the guys behind me asked the owner how much he was getting paid to wear his new golf hat, and if his boyfriend gave it to him, the whole place let out a big laugh together, even me for some reason, i felt at home. When i took down my backyard burger and homemade fries, i felt at home. And when two pints of Miller Lite and a burger basket ran me all of $9.50, i almost moved in. I have been to this establishment multiple times, but based on my last visit this previous Saturday, I would never, could never, and will never go back. I recommended this place to my friends, and the way that we were treated was embarrassing. It mainly started when my friends and I were taking pictures at our table. A guy who worked there, came over to our table asked if we would like him to take it for us, we said sure. He walks away and clearly had no intention of taking the picture. Super smug and rude about it. A little bit later, I was talking to Jessica (Amazing bartender, by the way) and expressed my frustration at his behavior. He ended up coming over and overhearing, and essentially told me that he didn't care. There was even another lady that worked there, whose name I didn't get, shook her head in disbelief. I asked Jessica who the manager was, and she informed me that he was the manager, but the owner was there and maybe I could talk to him about it. When I went to talk to the owner, he barely even looked up at me and told me to go talk to the manager. At this point, I am confused, because I have a complaint about a manager. Owner says, "well go talk to the manager, that's what I pay him for." I decide at this point, that I am obviously not getting any decent customer service from anyone here, so I'll leave. I went to pay my tab, and I still had a beer in my hand, which of course I wasn't thinking, but this same manager blurts out "You can't take that out of here dumb ass!" Yes, the "manager" said that. Stephanie (also a rare sweet gem here) apologizes to me and informs me that the owner will deal with it. I have a hard time believing that the owner will take care of anything seeing as though he sat right there and invalidated my frustrations and concern, and never came over and intervened when his manager called me a dumb ass. My friends and I were standing up near the front booth and talking amongst one another, and finishing up our drinks and the entire time, another guy who was the bouncer I am assuming, was standing next to us (no idea why) and then suddenly says "I'm getting sick of this! Just get out!" Let me not even mention the amount of men that kept touching the women in this bar. This facility does not respect women. I was the only black person in the bar, and I am not saying they are racist, but no one else was being treated in that manner. So, you make your own assumption on that one. The men who work here exhibited very narcissistic behavior. They were very rude in a subtle manner in the beginning, but the minute I got upset about it, their rudeness and disrespect became very outward, got worst, and no one stopped it. Aside from being a person of color, as a woman I would never recommend this place to anyone. It is not safe and the men here feel like they can say and do whatever they want. Great place, down to earth people, cheap drinks, free pool and poker

Wow - I'm 51; been to countless bars across the globe- never ever needed to right a review - but this place takes the biscuit. Went there for poker on Friday 7pm. So far so good - dive bar with character (or had it according to regulars). Obviously in need of promotion (as bars don't need free roll Poker on a Friday night unless they are in trouble). Maybe in trouble as they charge you $7 if you leave Ie. (No sign!; no entry fee initially - only if you pop out to car and back :-) !!!)Go to your car to get something. And they will charge you $7 again each time. When I asked why this barbaric; unfair; maybe illegal practice was done they said as I might go out for a 'blow job'; or fight; or hookers - yep their answer :-) honestly:-) - it was 8pm and empty bar - wow - who goes there normally. When I asked to speak to manager he was a thug full of threats - what a wanker. Anyway never ever going back - Shame I would have spent a lot - so much for Texas hospitality - trump influence shining through; well done - when told locals about experience they were equally stunned of the stupidity of it! I love this little honkey-tonk. The beer is always cold and the dance floor is always hopping. I've only ever been on a Saturday night. It is a good place to meet up with friends and have a good time. I haven't tried the food yet so I can't review that. I am assuming it is your typical bar food. If you're ever in the neighborhood try them out! Only downfall...you can still smoke in there so you leave smelling like an ashtray :( read more

We love the friends we've made there, love the music AND the drink specials. Cover charge is reasonable on Friday nights, as ladies are FREE. Only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 is because of their ventilation system! Smoking is allowed (grandfathered in?) I have always liked this place for my husband and I to just grab a few drinks and do a little dancing. It's close to home and they always have a good band. Had a bad experience recently though. I called 2 weeks before my husbands birthday to make a reservation. A large group of us were going to grab dinner then head to the ranch house for some fun. When we arrived they didn't have the tables I wanted ready when I specifically ask for a certain spot in the bar. When I told the manager on duty he looked around and said "sorry about your bad luck, looks like your outta luck" which was extremely rude, but since there was 20'of us we needed a table fast so we took what they had for us. Then after we sit down the most bossy and most rude waitress VALERIE comes over and screams at my mom that she shouldn't order their drinks at the bar, they have to order them from her. Well we didn't want to do that cause we know the bartender Stephen and wanted to use him. All around the worst experience we have had there and I was very upset since it was my husbands birthday. Well this past Friday evening my first time at the Ranch House, its different than most places I've gone to. Reminds me of W.W. Fairfields in Richardson, Texas. The stage and dance floor are positioned in the same manner. Dance floor was a bit slick since it was not a true hardwood floor, laminate flooring. There are pool tables and flat screen tv's.
