We had the fried and blackened shrimp, which were both delicious, and a gin and tonic to go with it. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and a good spot to grab a meal while on the island. The folks next to us had the crab soup and raved how good it was. Will come back and try that next time. (For those who plan, this place doesn't take reservations. We got there right at 5:00 and sat right down. When we left close to 6:00 the place was packed and had a wait.)

Prices these days are CRAAAAAAAZY!!! Service was super friendly. Hubby got a doz oysters & shrimp Mom & I split the fish tacos/fries. The tacos were so small with hardly any fish. Certainly not a shareable dish! All said best hush puppies ever!! Daughter got Shrimp & Grits... enjoyed it!Not sure what the others got, but they all seemed satisfied. My son said he was still hungry & I bet the other guy with us was too. Both in their 20's. Total for 7 people with a couple of adult beverages was $328 plus tip & that stupid % charge for using a card... what a joke!! Very dark inside & not water front. I didn't see a patio, but I wasn't looking. I mean, you judge! I am incredibly sticker shocked when we eat out now. Pics show portions & I have the menu posted too.

Fresh steamed crab legs yum! Great slaw and hush puppies too!

Ambiance is older, but on purpose I think... The highlight was the food, as it should be! The crab legs were perfect. Steamy and fresh, so good!! The shrimp and grits, amazing flavor! The scallops blacked were full of flavor and not just peppery but really good flavor! Service was great too! We will definitively go back!

First came to the crab trap in 1991... Saint Simons Island remains unchanged and untouched, moving forward, seamlessly and timelessly Crab trap is a throwback to the 70s seafood restaurant with figurines, nautical items throughout the restaurant The food is average quality. The service is fine. It is more just to be able to go back in time to Saint Simons and enjoy what was a memorable lovely moment some 30 years ago.

We really enjoyed our food! I had their shrimp and grits and my husband had fried shrimp. This was the first time my shrimp and grits had sautéed mushrooms, onions and peppers in it. I really liked it! Our service was excellent! We loved the nautical ambiance.

This place has become a tradition every time we visit St. Simon's Island. The day that we arrive to the island we HAVE to go to The Crab Trap. It's a traditional bar seafood menu. It's not going to have anything that is going to wow you or even be off the beaten path. However it is comforting to know that this restaurant knows what it is and does it at a very high level. I love the option for anything on the menu if you don't want deep fried everything. The salad with balsamic dressing is not to be discounted either. And the cocktails are fun and remind you that you are on vacation. The service is incredibly friendly and very attentive. Once again when you walk in it is a fairly standard beach bar atmosphere and you know exactly what you are going to get. It's a must to anyone vacationing in St. Simons Island.

One of my favorite places on the island. They have the best crab soup I've ever eaten. I've begged for the recipe! Food is cooked very well, the staff is nice. And the atmosphere is great. We make it a point to go here ever time we are on the island!

Very busy restaurant so we put our name in and luckily got a spot at the bar. Bartenders were very busy but managed to make a nice dirty martini. We ordered the fish dip for appetizer, tastier than I was expecting! The fried shrimp was the very best I have ever eaten. The hush puppies and fries were delicious also. This is a busy, loud, family friendly restaurant. I wasn't bothered by it because the food was so good! The server was quick and efficient.

Service was extremely slow and food was very poor. I am not sure how you can mess up basic fried seafood this bad.

Service is very responsive. Food is consistently excellent. Not fancy but perfect beach, seafood vibe. Shrimp is very, very fresh and local.

Next up, the waitress was super nice and attentive. We ordered the deep fried devil eggs...so yummy. The mule drink was mixed well. The burger, fries, cup of stew was also prepared very well. Pricing was good. Will stop back here again.

Stellar cocktails, friendly service, great views, modern design aesthetic, and incredible food. My only gripe is that they do not take reservations, though even on a Friday night, I've been able to get seated within 20-30 minutes, and you can always grab a drink from the bar and hang out on the lawn while you wait. This most recent visit, I started with the seafood chowder, one of my favorite soups on the island. Creamy, hearty, with plenty of fish, shrimp, crab, and potatoes. Shared a crabcake with my girlfriend--another solid choice, with plenty of crab, not too heavy on the filling, and with a lovely remoulade. For mains, we both had the grilled redfish, a baked potato for me, and mixed veggies for her. Perfectly cooked pieces of fish with a nice crust on the outside while still being moist and tender. Dessert this time was the chocolate pie, which was quite nice, not being too heavy nor excessively sweet. Did I mention the cocktails? I'm a big fan of the smokey mango Fiddlerita (a mezcal take on the classic marg), and the saladito a close second (again, mezcal, but with a little honey and cayenne). The girlfriend enjoys the basil smash (hold the simple syrup, please). Previously, we've tried the artichoke dip, which is also fantastic, shrimp and grits (solid, but Reid's does it better), blackened tripletail over creamy leek sauce (a special, and special indeed), and the key lime pie (excellent). You really can't go wrong here.

The seating was plush and comfortable and the tables are spaced far enough apart that you enjoy your own conversation without hearing everyone else's at the same time- a big plus in my book. Our server, Cameron, took the best care of us, answering questions and making suggestions that ensured everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. They offer a happy hour for cocktails and small plates even on Saturday which we all took advantage of! Between the group we sampled a large portion of the menu and the only thing we didn't LOVE was the steak Kushiyaki (skewered grilled meat). The steak was too tough and smoky for our tastes, but every other dish and drink we would absolutely recommend! Some standouts were the Szechuan noodles, the salmon and Hamachi crudo, the tuna tartare and surprisingly? The burger and fries! I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

My wife started with a glass of wine and I had an old-fashioned. The wine was a Zwiegelt and a decent pour which was nice and dry. I enjoyed the old-fashioned which was nicely presented but on regular cubes. We ordered a number of items off the HH menu, including the shaved Brussels sprouts salad, black bean tlacoyos, a short rib torta, and the Dorothy burger and fries. The torta was tasty but small. I'd pass on the tlacoyos but it was fine. We also ordered a fresh salmon belly off the raw bar menu which was my favorite and very tasty and would definitely order again. This was a nice experience and would try again. I'd rate at a 4.4 if Yelp scoring allowed it. Check it out.

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE! Been searching for a decent brunch in…read morethe area and my wife suggested Woodside. My experience is that many places just don't deliver the quality expected and I'm often disappointed. I'll have to say, Woodside delivered! This place is clearly elevated, elegant, and the food is prepared with culinary skill. From the moment we stepped inside, I could tell the atmosphere was classy and quaint. We were greeted by our server Buddy and the bartender. My instincts were that this was going to be good. I was still cautious. Buddy seated us appropriately and brought us menus and filtered water. We both started with coffee and to my surprise Buddy brought a large urn of French press coffee, whole cream and sugar cubes, I absolutely love French Press coffee but rarely see it at a restaurant. I make it at home and it definitely adds to the enjoyment of a good cup of coffee. Definitely a step above here. We looked at the brunch menu and found it hard to decide as there were so many interesting selections that I wanted to try. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict and I ordered the Croque Madame. As I deliberated, Buddy suggested that I'd stick with my first impression and that I would not be disappointed. I thought it was very classy the way he presented that and it makes sense that sometimes one should go with their first instinct, rather than wonder if they made the right choice later. Again, there were just so many things I wanted to try. When our meals came out, we were both pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste. This was not ordinary breakfast, but I had a good price point for what you get. It was really about the same cost as most breakfast places on the island, but such higher quality and sophistication. I can honestly say this was the best brunch experience I've had in many years and we've frequent a lot of places. The Croque was so tasty, complex and abundant and even the french fries were excellent. My wife's Benedict was also very special as it was rich, fresh, and absolutely clear it was prepared by a chef. The Latkas were a tasty complement. Overall, this was an outstanding experience and I just didn't want to leave. I can't wait to return for dinner to experience it. I believe the menu changes daily and I would definitely recommend Woodside as an elevated dining experience. I am happy to rate this a true 5.0 as it is the best food I've had in the Brunswick/SSI area over the past 6 months. Buddy was great and clearly understands service etiquette. Thanks so much for helping us enjoy a truly nice experience.
