Food was lazy. Cornbread was so cold it couldn't melt butter. Large stem pieces were still in green beans, okra caps still on and fried, half my okra was caps. I got curbside. It was okay at best. Some fries looked like they had been from another batch and refried. The chicken was okay. The Mac and cheese, normally a staple of Cracker Barrel was meh and had burn and hard pieces in it. Trashed it. This is pretty unfortunate because I used to eat here with my parents years ago. Normally Cracker Barrel is pretty consistent, but this makes me shy away from going to others in the future. I thought maybe it was a rough night but I read some more recent reviews. The food wasn't bad, but for almost $20, it wasn't great. I hope whatever is going on gets straightened out. People need their jobs. It's a decent place to sit down and have a meal. I've eaten at more Cracker Barrel restaurants than I can count over the years, around the country, but this one in a small town in Arkansas stands out. We ate there two days in a row. We were there right around noon on Saturday and there was no wait and there was no wait at 10am on Sunday! That was a first for me. I went there expecting to wait. The first day I had French Toast which was very good and the second day I had some very good, very light, very fluffy pancakes. I forgot that Cracker Barrel sells alcohol now, so I enjoyed a Bloody Mary one day and mimosa the next. read more

I was there at 4:30pm. It took 40min to get a grilled chicken breast. And then it had onions, which I specifically told them I had an allergy to. The waitress apologized and said she thought I said no onion rings. ??? Onions are onions. Took another 15 for them to clean off the chicken. Yep, didn't get a new one. By the time I hit the road, I could tell that onions were still hidden on the plate. This is the 3rd of this restaurant that has received my one star. Third strike and you are gone! read more

They are definitely a victim to the times here. Extremely understaffed and the help they have is poorly motivated. When asked what the soup of the day is and you are told it is always only vegetable soup and it is terrible, while I appreciate the transparency, why not do something about it and either get some variety or suggest an improvement. The fact you can no longer get any drink offered in the display up front with your meal is just another sign that customer satisfaction is no longer high on the list. The bathrooms are filthy- this used to be something that Cracker Barrel took great pride in having clean restrooms. Not any longer- the response today was that we know. Again- do something about it instead of complaining about how short staffed you are. The salad was disgusting- the lettuce was brown. The biscuits were ok, but something has happened to them where they now look pre-made and not homemade any longer. The management team does not wear any sort of uniform- they could easily be confused for customers and they certainly had no guest interaction. The menu has been cut down to little and many of the options have been removed, like Turkey sausage. In place of that, they have added crazy things like impossible sausage- I mean, let's be serious... who's genius idea was it to think that a country kitchen clientele would have any interest at all in plant based meats? For goodness sakes- this is Arkansas; not California! The bacon casserole bowl was great. The dumplings were extremely dry. The hash brown casserole tasted 2 days old. It used to be that when you broke an egg yolk on a sunny side up order, you remade the egg. Now they just don't care and flop hash brown brick on top of it and break the yolks. Sad- this used to be a really good place to go with high standards. Unfortunately, if this level of service continues, I suspect they will not be operating much longer in this location. read more

We were traveling early morning and needed coffee and a good breakfast. Cracker Barrel is always a favorite. Imagine our disappointment when they had no regular coffee, decaf only which was extremely weak. Also my blueberry pancakes were burn't on one side, I could not eat them. Cracker Barrel is one of the chain restaurants I can count on to be consistent. The restaurant was a little over a mile from my hotel so I decided on carryout. It had been a long day of driving and I just wanted comfort food, something familiar and that I could count on being good. They did not disappoint. The woman who took my phone order was very pleasant and professional then read every detail of my order back for confirmation. I always appreciate that! I arrived a tad early so I could browse the gift shop. Wow! Christmas Trees are already up as well as the fall and Halloween decorations. I'm already buying Christmas presents so I guess it's reasonable to have decorations displayed. A nice woman arrived timely at the cashier's station with my order. She proceeded to open the bag to review the order was accurate including the amenities requested. Everything was perfect but I did ask for one additional empty bowl which she was happy to get. Very pleasant woman who seemed to take great pride in your job! When I arrived at my room I was grateful I already knew my order was correct. No surprises when opening the carryout bag. I ordered my usual 2 Spicy Grilled Catfish filets with dumplings and a double order of turnip greens plus a bowl of turnip greens. The catfish was delicious covered in a thin layer of seasoning and the fish was tender and moist. The dumplings were cooked well and no flour aftertaste. The turnip greens are my favorite and they were very tender with a nice touch of ham. We always order apple butter for our biscuits and the turnip bowl is served with sliced onions, corn relish and corn muffins. I was glad there was a fridge and microwave in my room so I could save my leftovers. My meal was perfect and just what I needed at the end of a long day driving. I've only been to Cracker Barrel like 2 times before. I don't really remember my experiences there. Walking in, I was surprised to see a store. Cool! Our waitress was nice and helpful! I opted for the Sunrise Special which lets me sample pretty much everything they offer. I have had grits before and thought it didn't have much taste or they add tons of butter. Their grits tasted like some rice porridge which was surprising. After breakfast, we looked around the store and bought a few items. The cashier was very friendly and nice. read more

My friend and I work together once a year at a local university for a few weeks. We were meeting for dinner and we always go to the Arkadelphia CB. My friend & I ordered the Chicken & Dumplings. They were out of dumplings. So we ordered breakfast with hash brown casserole. It came out crunchy and dry, like they used dried potatoes. The waitress said they had a lousy prep cook that night and offered us no replacement Or comp. A few days later 3 of us went for dinner. We repeated our previous order for Chicken & Dumplings and got them this time, but they were cold. One of the meals they were out of, but didn't tell us for 15 minutes. She ordered something else and we were charged for the original order and the replacement. A few days later 2 of us again were going for dinner. We decided on a local restaurant instead. At the end of our 2 weeks we tried CB one last time. The HB casserole was crunchy & dry again. The dumplings were warm this time. Everytime it was impossible to get coffee refills. read more

Our waitress acted like she did not want to help us let alone even be there to begin with. She did not bring us bread, did not give any refills, she didn't even bring us UTENSILS! We even had to hunt her down for the check. She did not have her name tag, but she was about 5'5 with brown hair, round cheeks with acne (not to be rude I just don't know what else to say to describe her) I think she's legit the worst waitress I've ever had in my life. We ordered the steak and egg hash brown casserole and biscuits & gravy with a side of sausage. My steak was not done on the outside (I'm fine with medium-rare, as long as the outside is done to kill bacteria), and was not any warmer than room temp. My husband's sausage was also completely raw on the inside, and the gravy was a congealed mess that must've been very old. Overall, it looked like they put a frozen clump of sirloin tips on the griddle and didn't separate them until they plated, and put frozen sausage on the griddle and only browned the outside. Good Fried Chicken on "National Fried Chicken Day" Our family recently traveled thru Arkadelphia and decided to eat at Cracker Barrel. Such good food, and good and gracious service from Kenzi today. Well, since we happened to be there on "National Fried Chicken Day", you know I had to get the Chicken Fried Chicken. Wow, was it good. I was expecting one nice sized piece of chicken. What I got was so much more - I actually got 2 large pieces of the Chicken Fried Chicken. The chicken was moist and tender with good flavor. You know it's all about the batter, right? Well, the chicken arrived nice and hot, and the batter was nice and crunchy. De-licious! As expected, the green beans and hashbrown casserole were good too. My wife enjoyed her Veggie Plate. Everyone enjoyed the biscuits; some had gravy, some honey and jelly - all good, but they were smaller this time. Even though we had chosen to meet at this location, you can choose any Cracker Barrel near you. Still, if you're headed through Arkadelphia, be sure to check these folks out. I've always been a fan of this chain, but I don't come here often enough! I came in craving a previous promotional item (Apple Cider Baked Chicken), but alas they didn't have it and instead had a new promotion going on: "Maple Pecan Fried Chicken." I had my doubts at first, because it originally comes with a Maple/Mustard sauce. I'm not a fan of mustard. In fact, I hate condiments (except bbq sauce). The kitchen was able to create a different topping for me based off one of their other menu items, which canes with Apple cider and cranberry with Apple slices on top. Not a fan of apples, but the flavoring of the chicken because of it was delicious! The fried chicken was a little bit dry, but the flavoring was delicious enough to overlook the dryness. Truly a delicious meal, and only $10. Biscuits or cornbread (whichever you choose) are served upon deliverance of your order. My biscuit was soft and fluffy, with a decent amount of flavor. They were not hard or overcooked. The coffee I had with my meal was decent. It's not the best I've ever had but not the worst. Very average even with a lot of cream and sugar. My meal came with 2 sides so I ordered 2 baked potatoes (extra cost). I love their potatoes, especially with a lot of sour cream! However, they were slightly under/over cooked: a little tough to dig into, and a little dry. I had two friends join me for dessert. We ordered two of the "Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake." It was great! It was nice and fluffy and packed with flavor. It was a little rich for my tastes, but still wonderful. For only $4, it was a good size portion. My only complaint was not with the restaurant or food, but with the staff. The waitress that served me was perfect, definitely wonderful at her job. My complaint is with the girl that seated me. She was disinterested in her job and took her time getting around to seating me after being called by the cashier up front (he called her twice to come seat me). Another waitress walked by into the kitchen mouthing about some issue she was having with another person, but it's not something I want to see or hear over my meal. So, this place was "hopping". Again, graduation weekend, but busy as a one armed paper hanger. Now that said, they did hand stands to accommodate a large party. Food was what I'd call..Cracker Barrel great. Not fine dining mind you, but pretty darn good!!!! The only hitch....well half the table of maybe 10 was finished eating before the second half were served...but hey, busy busy busy! So, I'll take it. Decent food at a decent price. Nuff said! Feel free to go there! There is really no "gluten free" but my son just got grilled chicken and sides...it all worked out great. I had to wait longer than expected for my order, however, when the manager brought it to me, she was extremely apologetic. Apparently they were waiting for bread to finish cooking. I love reading these reviews sometimes. I wonder if any of the people who post reviews used to work in the service industry or not? A bad waiter gives a restaurant 1 star, really? Or a bad meal does? There are many components to a restaurant experience including PRICE. I ate here yesterday and have eaten at this location 6 times in 18 months. Always fine, sometimes a wait, staff is okay to good, and the food? Is pretty good, now remember people who are expecting a 5 star $100 dollar per head experience these meals are barely more than fast food.......I think it is a phenomenal deal once you factor in everything. My wife and I are avid RVers and it's a challenge to find a spot to pull in and park with the trailer. We look for the Cracker Barrels since they're "RV friendly" plus the food is consistent and we know what to expect. It was Memorial Day when we were headed home from a state park in Arkansas and we needed to stop somewhere for lunch. Cracker Barrel popped up and our search was over. My wife and I both agreed Cracker Barrel would be perfect and it had the foods we'd been craving. We were worried that there would be a long wait but we were seated immediately. Another thing we love about Cracker Barrel is that we can order off the "kids" menu when we're not really that hungry. I love their chicken and dumplings but never can eat a full order with an additional side. On the "kids" menu you can order just a bowl of chicken and dumplings, perfect! My wife loves their chicken fingers. The regular plate come with a side and 6 "huge" chicken fingers. The "kids" menu has 3 strips and one side, also perfect for her appetite. I do agree with other reviewers that the staff does get behind on cleaning the restroom, they need to watch it a bit more carefully. read more

We stopped on Friday April 30. It wasn't to busy at the time. Everyone had their masks on & social distancing. They placed us in middle of room (we didn't like that) and most tables weren't cleaned off. They did bring coffee & took order. Took while to bring out. Biscuits were hard as a rock, grits, gravy, eggs, cold, ham was major salty! French toast was cold also. Ended up getting crowded & loud real fast! We were told a 30-40 minute wait. 90 minutes later we still had 4 parties ahead of us and they had stopped seating die to a kitchen backup with no estimate on when they would resume normal business.
