We are visiting family and they decided to take us here after picking up my brother's car nearby. There were 4 adults and a 3 year old in our party. We were sat right away. Greeted and drink orders were taken. At the same time we order a 2 item bites combo with the loaded tots and fried pickles. When our drinks arrived we ordered our entrees. Two of us ordered greens salads (which we bacame more and more thankful for since time just kept ticking away with no other food present). In fact we did not receive our starter until over 45 minutes after we ordered. We ended up asking our server when the food would be coming out. She only then told us that the kitchen was backed up. When it did come out they were both sitting in oil. They were piping hot which was a plus. But after waiting so long we devoured them. Another 10-15 minutes went by and 3 of the 4 adult meals along with the child's meal came out. We then had to ask about the 4th meal (which happened to be the same entree as one that had been received). Yet another wait...she ended up eating the child's meal since he was in full melt down over not eating and hers took an extra...additional 10 minutes. When it did come out. It was missing a side. Which we were then informed (an hour and 10 +minutes since ordering) they had run out of dumplings and she was asked to pick a different side. By this point all the food had come out. But it was all overly saturated with oil and no one got a chance to really eat so 90+% of it we had to box up and take with us as we were beyond melting point. We do not have Cracker Barrel by us but even if we did I would most likely not return after this experience. At any point before ordering someone could have let us know food was running an hour or so wait. When we said something to the cashier she said she had no idea things were so backed up. There definitely is a lack of communication. Had we known there was such a great wait we would have gone someplace else since a 3 year old doesn't understand such a wait for dinner. And now after the longest dinner ever. We have a 45 minute drive back home. Gonna be a late night. read more

Just can't get right ... Ordered the sampler with three choices of meatloaf , chicken and the dumplings . Waitress advised me that they were out of meatloaf AS SHE BROUGHT ME MY FOOD. Offered another of the two I ordered as a substitution.( Meatloaf is the star of the show for me ) I politely said no thanks . The problem I had is when did they know they didn't have meatloaf . I would have ordered something different but didn't want to send the whole thing back when it was already here . Food ( that I got ) was a $$(turnip green were good) Service $$$ Price $$ Overall $ ( if this was chopped , they would have lost for missing an item lol) Every time I try to give the old CB another chance , I never fails to disappoint . Cracker Barrel used to be my go to breakfast in Elkhart and I always got the country boy breakfast but today changed my mind on if I should ever go back to try it again after getting hard yokes in my three eggs when I asked for eggs over easy I had to bring my meal home and make my own eggs over easy to eat my breakfast I usually got five star rated breakfast from here. I hope it was just an off day for them. Next time I will get French toast or pancakes with my country ham and not take a chance on the eggs anymore. read more

The food, hospitality, and the overall atmosphere, and service was also excellent. The manager who's name is Michael even stopped by to ask me how was everything. Took advantage on the CrackerBarrel's "breakfast all day long" offer today. I ordered the Sun Rise Special and indulged. Two eggs, grits, fried apples, gravy, country ham,a sausage patty and biscuits. Everything was excellent. My wife ordered the chicken and noodles and also wolfed out my fried apples. The waitress delivered our order and then disappeared in the ether. We had to track her down to get our bill. The service alone reduced a five star to a four! My Mother and I stopped in at the Cracker Barrel in Auburn for lunch today. I have to say is we were seated promptly and our order was taken within a reasonable time. My Mom complained that her soup was too salty and asked for a salad instead. She is on medication that makes that happen. Once the rest of the order came my Moms order was fine. I ordered the chicken and dumpling, I took one bite and I dumplings were doughy. The manager came out and basically called me a liar, saying that no one else complained. I told him to try it and he stated he couldn't because of his health. Then in the next breath he was saying that he checked everything and nothing was wrong with the food. I didn't complain because I wanted a free meal, I complained because the food was not done. will never go back to that Cracker Barrel again! read more

Service is good. food was disappointing. We ordered online to go was there in 15 minutes to pick up 5 minutes home and it was cold. Ordered country fried steak and got a piece of leather steak But this management made it right and refunded our money, which she didn't have to refund the whole thing. Food is ok for a quick stop. Service is always slow. You can never get in and out quickly.

We have been there a few times since the new assistant manager arrived and Michael is on top of it checking on staff, cleaning tables, talking with customers, making sure the meals are as expected. Sooo I'm sorry to say that everything that could go wrong, did go wrong with this meal. The only saving grace was that the manager finally removed my dinner from the bill because it was cooked so terribly! I ordered a grilled sirloin steak and carrots with a baked potato. The steak was raw at first. I had asked for "medium well". Then it took 30 more minutes plus... and the next steak was all gristle and burnt. It was truly inedible! The carrots were cold and believe it or not, they gave me a rotten (black inside) baked potato! It was sliced open and you could easily see that it was rotten inside! This isn't even the worst! So when I asked the waitress for salt and pepper, she walked over to a dirty uncleared and not yet sanitized table, and gave me the salt & pepper off of it! I Br asked her "did you really just take this off of that dirty table especially during Covid-19? She just looked at me dumbfounded! Like she had absolutely no idea why I was upset at this point! I went and found a manager and told him everything! He was mortified, I could sense it! But even though he took the steak off of my bill, that is NOT good practice during a pandemic especially. This is based on my last seven or eight visits. The majority of time it takes far too long to be seated, even when it's slow and nobody is in front of you. Several times when I've ordered breakfast they bring eggs, bacon and toast after I've finished up my potatoes arrive. This morning they were very slow, nobody in front of us and I stood with my 88 year old mother over 5 minutes. Three people walked past and assured us somebody would be there soon. When my mother needed to sit we walked very slowly toward the door The woman that knew were waiting said, goodbye! Cracker Barrel you have a serious management problem in this location and the culture of your entire staff reflects it. We've been here dozens of times and it got bad a few years ago and we quit going then it got better so we went again today. Got the meat loaf which was refrigerator temperature and obviously left over, the once great potato casserole was shredded cold potatoes in grease with no cheese, and the corn muffins were hard as a rock. Didn't complain as we were already running late but then spent 20 minutes waiting to check out with one lady taking that nlong to do three before me. It started off with a 50 minute ticket time. By the time we got our food, my husband's pancakes were tough and you needed a knife to cut them. I had the fried chicken with French toast. Do not waste your time here. I placed a to go order at 840 on a Saturday morning. I didn't get it until 930. I ordered eggs, pancakes, hashbrown casserole and sugar ham (they gave me country ham) food wasn't good or up to Cracker Barrel quality I'm use to. Such a let down. Worst run restaurant I've ever been to. Ridiculous wait time for first visit from waitress (NOT busy) and 40 mins for food. Manager yelled at a customer (even though the customer WAS wrong, she handled it about as poor as a manager could). We decided to come back to Cracker Barrel after about a year to give it a second chance. Last time we came, it wasn't the best service. When we arrived, they told us it would be about a 5-10 minute wait. We were there for an hour. They finally seated us and got our order. Overall the store is just another cracker barrel nothing I haven't seen before. But the food was good not super great but the server was good but I'm not holding the server responsible for the food part as she said it was her first day. She did about as good as she could've with how busy it was. The servers name is Hannah so I just wanted to come on here and give her a S/O because if the service from her wasn't as good as it was our party would've probably left. We use to realy like cracker barrel however the last few times coming here has been a real disappointment. The orders have been messed up. I ordered a pancake and in the past would get a regular sized pancake, today I got a miniaturized one. They changed the country fried chicken to country fried chicken tenders. This wouldn't be such a big deal if they were made right, they are the hard, heavy battered, pre frozen type. I think in the future I will have to go elsewhere. read more

We arrived around 11 AM on a Monday (and on the 4th of July) and the restaurant was pretty crowded. Although the restaurant was pretty full, we were seated immediately which was nice. However, service was pretty slow. It took about 10 minutes to order drinks, 15 minutes to get our drinks, 15 minutes to order our food, and about 40 minutes to get our food. The time that it took for all of this left us with an extremely irritable toddler. The little peg board game and the crayons did help entertain our toddler, but for about 40 minutes only. The waitress tried her best to help with our screaming toddler as well by offering crackers, but that did not help either. Once the food came out, our toddler was finally satisfied. She slammed her mac and cheese as if she were in a mac and cheese eating competition. Other than the slow service, everything else was great. Our waitress was very upbeat and friendly and the food was delicious. I ordered the Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast and Brian ordered the Country Boy Breakfast! We both enjoyed our meals and especially loved the hash brown casserole! So good! We also loved that our meals were served with unlimited biscuits and gravy which we ended up sharing with the rest of our family. Not the best experience we've had at Cracker Barrel. The host was nice and seated us immediately since it wasn't busy by any means. Then we waited for about ten minutes for our server to come say hi. She took our drink orders and then we didn't see her again for a while. She walked by and asked our permission if it was okay for her to get another table's apple butter before she took our orders. I found this to be odd and thought, "Why are you asking? Just do it or just tell us you'll be right back." Anyhow she took our order after us being there for half an hour. She didn't appear to want to be there or she had something on her mind that didn't involve work. Either way, I felt she was short and sarcastic, which is sometimes appropriate but it wasn't at this particular time. She forgot our drink refills and my mother's side of ranch (Oh the humanity!). The food was standard Cracker Barrel fare. My only issue was the mashed potatoes were lukewarm. They changed their country fried chicken around and it was delicious. We opted to skip dessert and pick something up at Starbucks. Will probably choose a different location next time. read more

The restaurant was not busy when we arrived for breakfast. Our waitress was prompt in greeting us. We ordered our drinks, which arrived in a timely manner. That's about all the positives I can say. From this point forward, things went down hill. We had to ask our waitress for cream for our coffee twice. By the time it arrived, the first cup of coffee was cold. It took almost an hour to get our food. When it arrived. We were told that it was going to be 15 more minutes for biscuits because they just put more in the oven and ran out. One person ordered steak in our group. They got country fried steak, which came out well past the rest of our food. The food was mediocre at best. The hash brown casserole was terrible. Well not a good visit. Came in for lunch and ordered a vegetable plate it took 45 minutes to get it. When it arrived the several of the items were not in good shape, the broccoli was burnt or bad not are which and the three apples I got in my Fried Apple side were just sloped into the bowl. I don't visit chain restaurants a lot, and when I do, I don't usually leave a review unless they're much better or much worse than the standard for the chain, but this Cracker Barrel was lackluster. The food was mediocre and the service was pitiful. After ordering, we waited around 15 minutes for our food before the waitress told us that they were out of my meal (the meatloaf), so I had to choose a replacement. This wouldn't have been a problem if they would have noticed before we waited for 15 minutes and if we didn't have to wait 15 more minutes afterwards. After those 30 total minutes passed, we finally got our food.. except my dad was missing a side, which the waitress then brought out.. oh and my grandmother was missing 2 sides which took another 2-3 minutes to be brought out. The food was mediocre and worse than most Cracker Barrel locations I've been to, and you could tell a lot of it had been sitting under the warmer for awhile.
