No complaints except that the hashbrowns that we ordered were way too oily, but I think it might be the same in all waffle houses. Cleaning wise, it was a bit better than other waffle houses, though I think its a common thing in all Waffle House's, that they never mop the floor properly. This Waffle House has a dedicated parking lot and there is no exit in the back to any other areas. If you're driving a larger vehicle, you're going to have some significant challenges and I would recommend you go somewhere else. I got the full show this morning. I took my usual seat - one of the low counter to the side of the cooking area - and got to watch a customer argue with the cashier about whether or not she got her fourth order of bacon for the table. And then the table of four behind me decided to have a loud speakerphone Facetime breakfast with their grandmother who's never been to a Waffle House before. Absolutely hilarious. When the drama completed (about 10-15 minutes of being patient), I was able to place my order for a keto breakfast - Fiesta Omelet all the way with a side of city ham - and consumed three cups of coffee during my meal. The ham arrived quickly, the omelet a few minutes later. All done properly. My waitress was great. She also let me know that Waffle House has discontinued the house salsa. That's a bummer. The staff is always friendly and they work very hard. The restaurant was clean and partitions were in place to use as much space as possible within COVID guidelines. My coffee was fresh even at 0230. I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on Texas toast. It was great and packed with tons of bacon. My friend got a peanut butter waffle and he loved it. We are 6,000 miles into a cross country road trip from PA to CA and back through the south. This place was one of the best places we ate on the entire trip. The food was excellent and we are pretty positive the lady that cooked it put her heart and soul into it. Pam our waitress and the other two ladies were the best and kept us entertained the entire time we were there. Unfortunately while we were there people pulled in and trashed their parking lot and just drove away and the employees had to clean up the mess and we helped them. People are disgusting sometimes. By far the cleanest bathrooms and friendliest staff we encountered anywhere on I-95 this month! Staff were all wearing masks, happily greeted us coming in and out of the restaurant, and the take-out we ordered was PERFECT. Crisp lettuce and bright firm tomatoes on my sandwich and piping hot and fresh hash browns. I kinda wanna go order another BLT right now LOL The interior was also VERY clean. Walked in with $100 tip to bless someone on New Year's Day. The lady working was the rudest person I've ever encountered. We are a family of 5, three toddlers. She wouldn't allow us to all sit in a booth together. She claimed only 4 people to a booth, which is hilarious because my twins were once conjoined if she wanted to get specific. In fact - in all honesty - the only reason I remembered that I hadn't written it - was because as often as I visit McIntosh & Glynn counties - I rarely remember to post reviews. BUT - I was creating a new list and updating my existing McIntosh County / Golden Isles list and remembered that I hadn't reviewed this spot. So - To be clear - 1) I understand the niche that places like Waffle House, IHOP, Denny's, Krytal's, etc fill. That's great. I'm a night owl - I'm not a food snob - I like 'diners' in general. So - This is not one of those reviews where the person goes in with unrealistic expectations. 2) Even though I understand #1 - Waffle House and Krystal's food - even when tasty - has NEVER agreed with me. SO - in the less than 5 times I've eaten at Waffle House - I have to ask myself - would you prefer satiation now eating later OR do want to go to sleep hungry or possibly fall asleep trying to cook something. Most times I opt for going to sleep hungry . . . but every once in a while - I live dangerously and opt for Waffle House. When I do - I THOROUGHLY enjoy the hash browns and the pecan waffle. Until the horrible stomach pains / gas hit me hours later. Having said all that / TMI - that's not why this location gets 1 star. They get one star because: A) The first time I called in an order here and picked it up for my Father - they were rude. He was going thru chemo and would specifically request Waffle House sometimes - and each time I called them - they were rude and snappy - even though the restaurant was not busy at the time. B) Years later - after my Father had passed away - I placed an order for the pork chop(s) dinner. They overcharged me. They were rude. AND - they served me undercooked pork chops. FYI - the server / order-taker got rude with me because she hung up on me when I tried to ask how long it would be before order was ready - and when I called back - she was annoyed that I called back to ask. Claimed that no one ever asks that because the food will be ready when I get there. When I explained that I was in the parking lot - she said that it would 8 minutes. She was already irritated - so I figured What-the-heck - I expressed my surprise that she could cook pork chops in 8 minutes. She double-downed on her madness. She said the pork chops were thin and the grill was really hot. And of course - I was given undercooked pork chops. Tip: Go here at your own risk. They are absolutely the only late night option in McIntosh County once McDondald's closes - but I was told that Applebee's in Brunswick (one exit away) stays open until 2am on Fri and Sat nights! I would GLADLY drive 6 miles up I-95 to avoid food poisoning and a rude waitress who's channeling an irritable, scowling, gum-snapping, gum-chewing Flo (and I'm referring to the one from Alice / that 80's sitcom. . . not the Progressive Insurance lady - we love her). read more

Not even remotely impressed with this place. I have personally been serving and working in restaurants for 6 years, so I am usually very forgiving if it looks like the staff is even half-way trying. But the late night crew here makes zero effort to so much as say hi when you walk in the door. The waitress, Bridgette, complained about her job the entire time my husband and I were there. She forgot his waffle, knew she forgot it before we ever told her because she told them to take it off our ticket before we paid.
