The bacon was a little bit on the two crispy side for us. She was very attentive to our needs and refills. Wow! The food quality and service have left the building!!! We came on a Friday night and one party had the fried catfish, one had the chicken fried steak, and one had the cod fish dinner. We were seated and our waitress gave us no attention for over 20 minutes!! We waited for our drink orders but had to wait an extremely long time, thus needing the manager to intervene! My fried catfish was good tasting, but was not always cooked all the way. The country fried steak was supposed to come with extra gravy but it didn't. We had to ask again! And the cod fish was nasty!! Very fishy tasting cod that was also not cooked done!!! They put my sides on my sister's order and vice versa. It was Mother's Day. My husband and I took my mother. She loves this place. The food is hot it miss for me. Though I love I can get a chunky from the store. I don't have Va picture of my mother's food because she cleaned her plate!!! She had a Creole grilled shrimp dinner. It had seasoned rice, greens & fried okra. She put her corn muffin in her greens and I know if she was home b she would have eaten them with her fingers. She really ate all of her food. That included the toast on the sides of her plate and an extra biscuit from the basket on the table. We had a great time. Our waitress was very attentive. My family and I came out to eat this evening. We didn't have any wait. We got there around 4 which was good. Two of our kids ordered the chicken ( one was Nashville hot) the other was honey flavored. They both enjoyed it. They had steak fries with their chicken. They barely stomached 2-3 until they were full. They each had a root beer to drink. We all shared biscuits and cornbread combo. Our server was Que. very friendly guy and he made sure we took time to look over the menu. He made sure we had refills and didn't over do it. My husband and I did what we usually order. He does the chicken-fried chicken paired with two sides and I with the country fried steak with two sides. My father came with us, he also did the county fried steak with two sides. I had peach sweet tea, someone had regular sweet, and there was one beer. ( they provide you with a nice cold glass to pour your root beer and adult beverage into. Everything was good and fulfilling. I know Cracker Barrel is not a high-end restaurant. The food was pretty good to my surprise, this time. I tried the cheesecake stuffed pancakes , it is pancakes folded over a cheese sauce and pretty good. It comes with whipped cream and strawberries right on top, delicious! Also they upgraded that menu and now they offer plant-based sausage. The sausage was pretty good. It's the Impossible brand and I really enjoyed it. The price is not too far off. It was like $14, I think with the up charge for the front they sausage. The facility is clean and very noisy. You would find it hard to have a conversation here. You will not have any intimate conversation for sure. There is plenty of parking. I have avoided this place for probably over 10 years. The food used to be terrible but now I already taste a big improvement. I know they changed the recipe. Give them a shot. Got seated at 2:11 Got greeted/put order in at 2:23 First half of our food came out at 2:50ish Second half of our food came out at 3:06 No napkins, no bread, we were sat at a dirty table in the corner and had to ask for someone to come clean our table. Took multiple times for our food and sides too be correct. Food wasn't even very good. One person had burnt bread. Took over an hour and a half to even get our check. Absolutely abysmal. Manager didn't even bother to come back the first time we asked, we had to ask for a second time. Over $100 for the food and this was absolutely horrible. After I checked in and before we were seated we witnessed a young Black girl and older White lady fussing with each other at the hostess stand. It felt like the younger female was trying to help streamline the checking in process, but her delivery was off and they shouldn't have been going back and forth in front of customers. I don't believe the older lady accurately added our name to the list - my sister-in-law also added us to the wait list while on her way there and we'd decided to just wait and see who was called first for a table. Well, sis's reservation was called first and when I went to have her cancel mine, she couldn't find my name. ‍ We were seated and a lady named Jo helped us. She seemed nice, but she was fussing with her coworkers in front of the customers, too. This must've been the theme of the day. lol And every time we ordered something or needed something extra brought to the table, she had a 30 second story about it. It was strange. When the food finally came out and we ate, it was delicious. Everyone in our party was happy with what they got. As we walked in, I could smell something close to smelling like a sewer. The whole gift shop smelled like a sewer. While waiting for a table I asked one of the staff if he could smell the odor and he said it smelled like that all the time. Great. They were short staffed. Our waiter was running around like a chicken with his head cut off. My mom and I are traveling and decided to stop at this cracker barrel, not only was the food overseasonned, the customer service was about the most obnoxious thing of the whole visit. So me and my mom and my Aunt Joyce go here quite often maybe a few times a month at most, they have really gone down hill with the waitresses, I really don't know if they hired new staff or what but the last few times they've been rude, have had attitude and or only got us drinks once and never came back to check on us or ask how everything is, the food is just as good as it normally is its always hot like it should be, if your hard of hearing like my dad it is not an enjoyable place to have a conversation because it is VERY loud in here, some kids with sensory issues or people who don't like loud noises WILL NOT like going here, I love their grilled chicken tenders and macaroni and country fried steak, like i said the food is amazing its the works lately that have ruined the experience, they need to do a better job on customer service and hospitality a lot of them act like you're bothering them if you walk up and ask them something or get their attention, including the cashiers up front who are young and almost always have an attitude here! read more

Worst service ever!!!!! We ordered and the server told me that they were out of that specific food I want it on the menu so I ordered something else. (not too big of a deal) but... After waiting for about an hour, the server came to our table to tell us that they didn't have what we ordered. On May 5, 2023, my wife and I stopped at the Cracker Barrel in Caseyville, IL for dinner. Although the server was very nice and professional, we were less than pleased with the remainder of the experience. When our meals were brought out we were informed they were out of a side we both ordered. Why didn't they let us know shortly after our order was placed rather than wait until it was served? Again, our server was pleasant and apologetic. While checking out we were baffled by the behavior of the younger female checking us out. She was mumbling and saying inappropriate things throughout the entire transaction. It was hard to understand what she was saying, but between my wife and I we pieced it together. She was asking us for cash tips, said she hoped she made enough in tips that night, and the most shocking was when she said, "That bitch gonna make me close tonight." I came here with my Father on the Tuesday of the 2022 initial flood damage. We had to get out of work as we were going crazy and hadn't eaten all day. We opted to have late breakfast / early lunch at this Cracker Barrel. We both ordered breakfast dishes. I ordered the Bacon N' Egg Hash brown Casserole with toast instead of biscuits. He ordered some sort of combo that came with grits and biscuits and gravy. My food was cold and eatable but the portion size was small compared to other locations. My Father had to send back the grits because they were the consistency of water. We noticed other tables around us doing the same. The service was slow and the food was really mediocre. So, I don't normally write a review of such a well known restaurant but because of our server, I feel I must. This morning, we took a party of 22 to this location of Cracker Barrel. Natalie was our server of two big tables. She was AMAZING!!! Never once flustered, overwhelmed. She was awesome. So friendly and took amazing care of us. She stayed on top of all our drinks before we even noticed it was almost empty. This group hadn't seen each other in a long time so lots of talking and she just effortlessly took care of us while we got to visit. They never rushed us out and made us feel welcomed. We went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast on a nice Saturday morning. They were busy, but at 9 AM, we were still seated immediately. They seemed to be a little short on servers, we had two young ladies helping us at different intervals. Our main server, Stephenee C, was wonderful! She could light up a room. Shayanna(Sp?) Was our other server and she was great as well. The gentlemen who brought our food to us was named Jeremy. He has amazing hearing. I mentioned to my husband that I should have asked for salt and he heard me from some distance away and brought it on his next pass. The customer service was phenomenal. All of our food was on point. While I wouldn't say any Cracker Barrel is a 4 star dining establishment when it comes to fine dining, this isn't about fine dining. My first visit to this location. Got there around 11:30 on Sunday, knowing it would be busy. Surprisingly we were able to get seated with no wait. We were a party of three. Despite being busy, our sever Angelica immediately greeted us and took our drink order. Our food took more than 30 minutes- which is more than I wanted to spend waiting. But I am still leaving four stars because our server constantly checked on us giving us biscuits and drink refills probably every 5-10 minutes. She politely apologized us for the wait. Today, however, I brought in my family from out of state and we are a party of 8. As I'm standing by the hostess counter, there are three ladies Erial stands out the most because she is talking about her co workers and how "she isn't dealing with her [co-worker] attitude". I've always supported Cracker Barrel in my travels across the USA. Staffing is typically amiable and well trained. Clean and safe breakfast food with quality ingredients. Personally ,I enjoy the fireplace and it's a great place to purchase quality snacks and drinks as I cross the country via highways. My issue is this-Plain and Simple : * They do not have WiFI available. I've driven across Indiana,Illinois and Missouri recently and no location offered this. Food was fine. Service was slow (Saturday @ 1:30 PM). They're obviously understaffed, especially in the kitchen. An employee had a table set up outside, begging for workers. Besides the slow service, a few minor complaints: 1. If the cheeseburger doesn't come with any condiments, offer up some ketchup when you bring it rather than making me chase you down, 2. If the bun is damaged, toss it; sure, it's edible, but it looks like you either have no attention to quality or you just don't care. Another tip for management: bring in that employee from out front and get her in the kitchen. My wife and myself ate at the Caseyville, Illinois location, my wife was wanting Chicken and Dumplings. I ordered the fried fish dinner with green beans. Green beads were burn,and fish was still swimming in the water. My wife's Chicken Dumplings was like eating nothing but wet noodles, Chicken Dumplings was hardly touch .
