Service and ambiance were on par with CBs I've visited over the past 30+ years. Food was okay, portions were smaller than pre pandemic-and no more bottomless biscuits, gravy and grits with breakfast. Corporate profits rule again over historical precedent.

I was awoken by my husband in the car after our drive home from Kansas City..where were we? Where could we be, the area looked unfamiliar, I realzied we were in the parking lot of a Cracker Barrel. I have never been to this location, and definitely not to a CB in 10+ years. I forgot how charming the store front is. It was actually affordable too! I promised my kids if they ate their dinner they would be able to get a toy. Fast forward to a heaping basket of corn bread and biscuits, mac and cheese, and our delicious dinners we went back. I ordered the seasoned chicken, and it was excellent! two large chicken breasts seasoned perfectly. With a side of fries and dumplings. I didn't care for the dumplings, they werent very warm, and the fries were okay. The bread was amazing. We went back to the store and got a Bluey toy, plush, and coffee mug, all under $30. We had a nice visit and I would definitely not be mad if I woke up in another CB parking lot in the future.

Can't go wrong with Cracker Barrel!! There was a long wait (forgot it was Mothers Day and forgot to join the waitlist online. Oops!) Busy place for Sunday breakfast but the staff was good and the food came rather fast considering!

Cracker Barrel just feels like comfort food in mom's kitchen combined. Located at the Lake Manawa exit in Council Bluffs, It's pretty convenient if you're driving through or shopping in the area. Open all day long, 7 days per week, you can have breakfast lunch or dinner whenever you want it! The Decor is very much vintage 70s mixed with a little bit of country store. Not very fancy but has all the food that you need. Service seems to be right on top of things and the will keep an eye on you during your visit to make sure you do not run out of coffee! Check out Cracker Barrel for some comfort food at reasonable prices

My husband and I went to this location while out for an appointment. We were seated immediately, and our server was very friendly. She took our drink orders and then brought our food within a very short timeframe. I went with easy yet delicious biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. Everything tasted great in my opinion. After we ate, we walked around the store and looked at all the gift ideas. Definitely sign up for their rewards if you have not!

Almost always go for the steak and eggs breakfast as you can tell from my picture. Their steaks are always cooked perfectly in my opinion and have great flavor. Over easy eggs with fried apples complete the perfect meal. Our server was very nice, and let us eat in peace, without bugging us about needs constantly. Overall great dining experience and plan to come back if we're in this location again for breakfast

If I was waitress and seen all this food barely eaten...I'd ask what's wrong and fix it! Nasty, hard, cold, horrible food.

The fried green tomatoes are crispy, flavorful, and so good, while the fried chicken is juicy, seasoned perfectly, and has that delicious Southern comfort-food taste. Tupelo Honey is a fairly decent place located in the downtown area of Omaha. I've been here many…read moretimes because of how good the food is. That's the main thing that brings me back. Ok the other hand, the service is rather iffy & unpredictable. The chicken & waffles is my go-to for each visit, and they have many types of delicious sides to choose from, with my favorites being the biscuits & berries, goat cheese grits, and also the fried green tomatoes. I have zero problems with the food that they serve here, they always do an excellent job at preparing whatever they need to prepare & the portions are always satisfactory. As for the service, there are days where you will receive perfect service while on others the service is not so great. Some days you will be attended to in a timely manner, while there is other days where there isn't anyone available or willing to seat you somewhere. I've also experienced instances where they didn't attend to our table to take orders until I made a complaint. Most of these instances were during days where the place was virtually empty so it's not because of the place being busy. I've also ordered take out from here before, again some instances are perfect and there's other instances where they don't tell you if a certain food is out of stock via text or call so if you ordered something that isn't in stock, you're forced to wait for them to prepare something else once you arrive to pick up your order. They also don't always include syrup or butter in the takeout bags for chicken & waffles. One minor thing I'm also disappointed about is how the portion of grits has lessened over time, going from being served in a bowl to instead being served in a small cup/mug. Overall, I certainly don't return for the service because you never really know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day for that. It's always the food that brings me back. I do want to like this place, and I do to an extent but again the service is always unpredictable. I'd still say the food is worth coming here to see how it goes.

Price was very fair for the quality and quantity of food I ordered. I went with the fish and chicken combo with a side of sweet potato pudding. We were seated right away, and it was a perfect day to sit outside. The hostess let us know they had workers outside, but we were totally okay with the noise, which ended up being very minimal. We didn't order any drinks, but for food, I decided to try the birria grilled cheese, which comes with one side, and I chose fries. Not only did it look so appetizing, but it tasted AMAZING. The bread had some sort of seasoning on it that added so much flavor to the sandwich. The fries were seasoned exceptionally well too. I'll definitely be back sometime soon to try more items. The food today was 10/10, and our waitress was very kind and attentive as well.

I had the Cubano sandwich, which was good overall, especially the smoky meat, but I think the coarse-ground mustard overpowered the flavours a bit and dulled the smokiness a bit. A plain yellow mustard might balance the sandwich better and let the smokiness shine through more. The sweet potato fries, however, were excellent. My wife Laura ordered Emily's Salad, which was pleasant and fresh, though we both thought it could have benefited from a little crunch--maybe some seeds or nuts added in. Our daughter Alex had the birria tacos and carne asada fries. The tacos were tasty, though a little on the small side, but the carne asada fries were fantastic. Umai! (I am a Rengoku fan; if you know, you know.) I highly recommend it. Our other daughter, Sam, ordered the birria grilled cheese and elote fries, and both were really good. Her cherryade was especially refreshing. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, though the dining area and patio felt a bit bare. A few plants outside and inside would really warm the place up and give it more character. The music was pretty good with indie hits in there. I also tried the Old Fashioned. It was definitely strong, which I appreciated, but it felt like it was missing a touch of sweetness or something to round it out. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, and I'd absolutely go back and try more on the menu. Their waitstaff was top-notch and really were on their game. The restaurant has good ingredients and solid ideas--it just feels like a few flavour balances could be dialed in a little more.

It may not be the five-star dining experience of our dreams, but when Dad's happy, we're happy. We rolled into GC around 5 p.m., navigating the minefield of potholes in the parking lot like seasoned pros. Inside, the lack of a line was a promising sign--fewer people meant a lower chance of mystery food cross-contamination. (I prefer my pudding without a surprise serving of macaroni salad, thank you very much.) With drinks in hand (Diet Coke for me, tea for my husband, and a classic Coke for Dad), we took our seats by the window and embarked on our buffet adventure. I started with my usual--a crisp iceberg salad with all the fixings, plus a side of fresh pineapple. So far, so good. Then came the nachos, a buffet staple that never truly impresses but always finds its way onto my plate. Chips? Check. Cheese sauce? Check. Pico and jalapeños? Check. The taco meat? Still suspiciously greasy. Some traditions never change. Since I tend to favor sides over mains, my plate was a sampler of comfort food: fried fish (always a winner), a handful of popcorn shrimp, mac and cheese, steamed carrots, green beans (a little southern flair with bacon), sweet potato casserole, and mashed potatoes with corn and gravy. The fish, when doused in a little Texas Pete, was an easy win. The green beans were solid. The mac and cheese? A tragic disappointment--cold, bland, and utterly lifeless. But I rallied, rounding things out with a last-minute mini churro grab. Sadly, my favorite chicken wings were missing in action during my first pass. But on my second lap? Victory. Fresh, crispy, and piping hot. The GC redemption arc was complete. Dessert was a DIY ice cream sandwich--two chocolate chip cookies sandwiching some struggling soft-serve from the perpetually overworked ice cream machine. A sweet end to a solid meal. My only real heartbreak? No gummy bears for my usual ice cream topping. A buffet betrayal. Golden Corral may not be winning any Michelin stars, but it's reliable, consistent, and (most importantly) Dad-approved. Plus, our server, Jade, kept the drinks flowing and the table cleared, making for a smooth experience. At the end of the day, sometimes it's less about the food and more about the company--and in that department, GC delivered. I'm sure we will return in the future (especially if the gummy bears make a comeback).
