I love this comfort food restaurant. Cozy, comfortable, good food. First time for dinner. The grilled blackened catfish was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. The green beans side was yummy. I didn't much care for the turnip greens cause they had meat in them. I guess that's the southern way? The cornbread muffin was soft and buttery and oh so good. Our server was friendly. However the bread basket that usually comes before our meal came after our dishes were served. And we waited over 30 minutes for that. It was busy but not overly so. No explanation for delay so 1 star ding. I still recommend. read more

I hate to be that person, but this has to be hands down THE worst Cracker Barrel I've ever been too. We ordered it once before and it wasn't good, but my thought was maybe because it was a take out order and they just gave us old food. Well fast forward about a year later we decided to dine in, in hopes for a better experience. Honestly, the food might've been worse. The hasbrown casserole was dry, had no flavor, and was cold. The chicken also was flavorless. The pancakes weren't great either. Unfortunately, no one enjoyed their food. The only bright side was there was no wait and the service was quick. But that easy to do when you're serving up old subpar food. We gave it two chances and definitely will not be back. If you're reading this and haven't gotten there yet, do yourself a favor and turn around. The 2.5 stars is very generous. read more

My boyfriend and I had dinner here last weekend. I enjoyed the campfire beef. That was a special they were having. Our waiter was Malik and he did a fantastic job. I was drinking iced tea and our glasses were never empty. Malik was on the ball. I would have to say he's one of the best waiters I've ever had here. He was polite, very efficient, and on top of everything. Kudos to Malik! We will definitely be back to dine in again and we will ask for Malik next time. 5 Star's all the way. read more

Three Strikes, You're Out I've given this Cracker Barrel near Carowinds three tries in two months--each one worse than the last. Ever since the "new" interior and menu update, service has gone downhill. You get seated and then forgotten. Orders come out wrong or not at all. This week I ordered turkey--ten minutes later, they were out. Asked for napkins and bread--never came. Staff was chatting and laughing in the kitchen while guests waited. I have been to this store many times but today was the first time I used their curbside pickup. The ordering process was very easy from my phone. I was able to customize my order and easily place the order for pickup. When I arrived I was able to easily locate the curbside parking. I clicked the link to let them know I had arrived and typed in the number of the spot I was in. Within a few minutes someone was bring out our order. We had ordered three dinners and extra sides and they were all neatly plated and boxed. Separate containers for the gravy and sauces. They included butter and jelly and utensils without us asking for any. The food was hot and delicious and overall this was a great experience. read more

735 am it myself and 1 other person in the whole dinning room. The place is really peaceful, there is a light that is blinking just to side of my table which is very annoying. My order was taken my food came out and that last time I seen waitress. I got the build your own breakfast ordered to over easy eggs both over cooked. I had the sampler with 1 slice of sausage, country, ham, and bacon. The bacon was so undercooked it wasn't edible. My glass has been empty for most of my meal. Came in on a Friday around 11:30am to eat. We were sat right away and got a nice table by the window. Alexis was our server. She was amazing and really made the whole dining experience a great one. She was very knowledgeable with the menu, helped us choose our meals and checked on us several times to update us on food status and see if we needed anything. Food was good. Nothing fancy but it filled us up. The biscuits and apple butter were my favorite. So soft and flavorful. I haven't been to Cracker Barrel in ages. With so many local eateries in Charlotte we often avoid chains. My experience here today made me add them back to my list of places to come when I want a hot, filling, inexpensive meal. read more

I'm a fan of Cracker Barrel but, they're not all the same as far as the food is concerned. The service was good but, the biscuits were a lil burnt, they should not have put them on the table and the muffins were hard. The turnip greens wasn't hot, the mashed potatoes were sitting out so they changed color and they put fresh potatoes on top of the old . I'm disappointed at this establishment. Unfortunately we have had three recent visits with three separate but undeniably bad experiences. In their defense the management has handled the issues each time with no hesitation or need for us to plead our cause. The star reduction is due to this continuing and also to acknowledge that you should be aware in this pandemic many of the workers are not all in. Our waitress last night told us after being very frustrated that she wasn't feeling well. Wait what ???? Oh my goodness... no words ... She later said two people had quit and she had a headache. I sure hope my complaints didn't add to her headache ! Last night wasn't great. It really wasn't. I ordered meatloaf and it wasn't cooked properly. As a matter of fact it was PINK. I brought it to my servers attention and she immediately got the manager who came and took it away. We got a refund and the manager gave us a dinner on the house but honestly I did want anything after that. We did order a to go meal but later gave it away . We have often given meals to people out begging for help. We left frustrated. So be aware this restaurant has lately been very consistently bad . Three visits three times bad. (4/25/22) It's been awhile since I was last here. My wife wanted to take me out to breakfast. The parking lot is pretty full, but inside there are hardly any diners. We were seated and I ordered the egg and hash brown casserole with cocoa. The cocoa isn't hot, more lukewarm. I've noticed that they now have wine and mimosa offerings on the menu. It doesn't look like the offer of alcohol is attracting more customers. My wife ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage & sweet tea. She seemed happy enough with her meal, which is a rare occurrence. My meal was edible. It was on the same level as iHop in Pineville, which isn't saying much. I was hungry. And the people working here are nice. The ambiance was what you would expect for a 'country' type store / restaurant . the food was typical breakfast food, the grits could have been creamery , but I could not expect them to cook them the way my family does. So, they where basic grits ( we put milk, cheese and butter in ours). Love the little shop area , customer service was basic , but we did meet 2 employees I guess getting off shift while we sat out front for a minute, they where very nice. My mom loves Cracker Barrel so I decided to pick the closest one to me and I am highly disappointed I chose this location smh! The service was med our waitress seemed like she was overworked which isn't her fault she did the best she could so I appreciate that! On to the food I got the coastal sampler which came with two white fish and shrimp. I chose mac n cheese and okra as my side. The fish was DISGUSTING not flavored and horribly cooked I had to send it back and decided to get more shrimp instead which the manager had to sign off on due to "portioning " I also had to send back the mac n cheese because it was so bad! It literally taste like fake cheese warm water and noodles no flavor AT ALL. I tried to make it work by adding pepper but it was still a no! Which didn't matter because I ended up changing it out for the hash brown casserole which is my favorite side from this chain restaurant but this location really missed the mark. The onions in it were thick and undercooked and the casserole itself was extremely dry! Idk who they have cooking back there but they need to do better. I'm only giving a two star because the shrimp and okra were the only edible things and even that was a 5/10. My mom got the grandma sampler. Might be the worse run Cracker Barrel in the country. Decided to dine in since last time we ordered take out online and it took an hour. Waiter was MIA for about 10 minutes. Place was empty. We asked hostess to get the waiter and he started waiting on people that literally just sat down. Food is standard fair - worth what they charge. Always amazed by the always changing gift shop. Need a manager to train the staff. Other wait staff walked by us multiple times without offering to find our waiter or offer us a drink. Customer service is easy if you care. For Thanksgiving, we ordered the holiday meal at my sisters in Columbia and it was a hit, so we decided to order the Christmas holiday meal from this location. So easy to just heat up the meal and not have to worry about being in the kitchen for hours preparing a meal, we spent more time with family. We placed the order and had our confirmation and we're excited to pick it up. With our Thanksgiving meal, all the containers were labeled so we knew what was what. Not the case from this location. We literally had to open each one to see what we had and should have looked when we picked it up, because we were missing the mashed potatoes we ordered and had double the Mac and cheese. The cornbread dressing looked nothing like what we had in November, and was extremely dry, even with the gravy we had to mix in it before heating in the oven. Still an easy meal to prepare that allowed us time to spend with our family, but we were disappointed our order was wrong and the dressing was dry. This location needs to do better with holiday orders next year and we will definitely check before we leave with our order. read more

We called so many times without answer. Once they did answer and just left the phone on the counter. They should not be in business if their own methods for selling and delivering food through curbside do not work. It was the rudest treatment we had ever received. They need to shut down curbside delivery or fire everyone who works there. It was an hour before closing so there was no excuse for this. I'll die by 2020. Their food is consistent. Haven't have a bad customer service yet. But from time to time. I see how these poor waiters and hostess get mistreated. We have been steadfast Cracker Barrel supporters for over 40 years! That ended this past week when we went to The store at Carowinds. When we walked in; three employees were sitting at the first table"shooting the breeze." We were greeted and told there would be a 15 minute wait? They were at 10% capacity; no one else waiting; and the staff was "doing absolutely nothing". The staff became uncomfortable as we watched them sit; doing nothing; so after 15 minutes; they all stood up and walked back into the kitchen; to continue their conversation.
