We recently stopped by Cracker Barrel and overall I'd give it (3 stars). The service was definitely a highlight--friendly, attentive, and we felt well taken care of throughout our visit. The restaurant itself was clean, including the restrooms, which is always appreciated. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite meet expectations. My burger came out with lettuce that was wilted and greasy from the hamburger meat, which took away from the overall taste. My husband ordered the hamburger steak, and while it was cooked, the portion felt small and it lacked flavor. On a positive note, the green side salad was fresh and enjoyable, and the iced tea was just right. My husband and I went there for breakfast and they have a picture of amazing steak and eggs, and that's right at my husband's alley however, when he received his steak, he felt like it was chewing on a piece of leather no flavor they charge $21 for this breakfast And it literally wasn't worth five dollars. The service was OK but they had two people come around pushing their six dollar take on meals and if you told your server, no you don't want any, then I don't think it's appropriate for another associate to come ask you about wanting take-home meals. This CB location is half way between me and my friend so we have met here a couple times. It's sooooooooo busy on weekends for brunch. The staff can barely keep up. The bussers can't seem to at all. The table are usual cleanish but under the table is disgusting with all types of food under there. It's so gross. Take an extra 30 seconds to clean that up before you seat someone. And everything from the table seems to be swept onto the chair. It's really unacceptable. Our server was super sweet. She was very overwhelmed with all her tables. Made some order mistakes. And since when does chicken fried chicken not come with gravy. They have some work to do at this location. read more

Where to begin...there's a certain standard you can typically expect from Cracker Barrel. While they aren't considered "fine dining", the food is usually good and warm. But this location is definitely the exception unfortunately. As for service...never got a drink refill, had to ask 2 and 3 times for jelly, lemons, cocktail sauce. Food was room temperature at best and appeared to have sat out for a while before receiving it; biscuits were cold and probably day old. It's weird that this Cracker Barrel rated so low. Glad I went anyway. It was already well over 100 degrees when I headed out to this location. On a Sunday, as to be expected, this place was crazy packed. I guess there aren't many in the area, so I get it. At about 10 am, I was told my wait would be about 40 minutes long. That's ok. I was hungry and had nowhere else to be. I had great convo with another customer while I waited to be seated so it was all good. And a lovely lady named Rose came and offered us ice cold waters which we happily took her up on. She also offered an explanation as to why this location was so busy. I didn't time how long I waited but while excessive, it wasn't horrific. The young lady who seated me was pleasant and kindly asked how my day was going and I asked her the same. The lovely lady, Kathy A. who was my server was an absolute joy. She was exactly who you want helping you. Southern charm overflowing. I ordered catfish and a couple of mimosas and everything tasted great and was fresh. I love CB's catfish because it doesn't have that yucky bottom-feeder fish flavor that is seriously off-putting. A fellow customer was kind and paid my tab for no reason other than we both ride motorcycles I guess (Thanks so much, Phil!) and that capped off a really pleasant experience. I purchased my usual old-timey candy fix and left with a smile. It was a great experience for me so I would say go and make your own mind up about this place. I am not big on chains but CB is an exception for me. It's got great vibes! Cracker Barrel ... REALLY? Did I break Protocol? My recent experience on Aug 14th at their establishment on Litchfield Blvd, north of the 101, in Goodyear will be unforgettable. While I choose not to submerge myself and all of the daily events around us, I try to stay sufficiently informed for various purposes, one of which is to prepare and govern myself accordingly. Following my return from a cross country road trip, southern cuisine seemed tasteful however this particular experience was definitely unexpected, shocking and sadly, uncommon, through my research and social observations. Nevertheless, I have been to this particular location dozens of times over the years and have never felt uncomfortable and the subject of discrimination, until now. Here's my story: I was seated at [table 242] and catered by a nice waitress named Kiya, earning 3 Stars at present. Drinks (Peach Tea and Water) ordered, followed by an entree. So far so good. Craving fulfilled,I asked for and received Tea for departure and was accommodated. Meal ticket came shortly thereafter and, as I've done many times here and other places if/when provided, I would use the QR code on the check to Pay by Phone. Let me recap the point of emphasis, there's a QR code near the bottom of the check of this establishment that offers you to Pay by Phone. It Is An Option!!! Proceeding forward, I paid for my meal using the Pay by Phone option, then manually sent a copy of the receipt to my email as another layer of confirmation, gathered up my belongings, grabbed my Tea and headed towards to main exit through their Country Store. As I enter the Country Store, I was greeted by a cashier, asking if I was ready to pay, ushering me towards the counter, to which I kindly responded that I have just paid at the table. The manager was present in the Country Store when I advised her cashier of my ticket being paid at the table. However, said manager ceased her task only to intentionally cut into my path to stop me, barricading me in the aisle, while I witnessed her calling to verify the bill at [table 242] had in fact been paid. After receiving confirmation of such, she seemed quite disappointed and bothered as she then casually, cavalierishly, and without saying a word beyond "Yes" to my question "Are you good?" stepped aside to allow me to exit the establishment. I felt like a criminal, "Guilty until Proven Innocent" at the enjoyment of this manager. Did I break protocol by paying my bill at the Table, an option provided by Cracker Barrel? Or, given I didn't fit her/their particular image of preference, was it the managers goal to make me feel so uncomfortable, albeit brief, in such a way that will minimize or even perhaps eliminate my interest and others like self, to return to Cracker Barrel. In today's world of technology and advanced communications, there were several opportunistic moments wherein said manager and/or staff could have immediately confirmed the ticket at table 242 had been paid, prior to me entering their Country Store. Either way, the actions by the cashier and manager was unnecessary, deliberate, and unprofessional. My grandfather had a Charles Chips route in Butler, PA and I remember these tons all over his house. Came here after a long drive from California Nascars championship weekend as part of our tradition as soon as we touchdown in Az we find a Cracker Barrel to dine. The food is amazing as always there's nothing wrong with the food it was actually our waitress young AA female. Not really to friendly served me my Arnold Palmer in a broken glass and when I told her she said I'll get that taken care and only returned when our food arrived in which I asked for some hot sauce and ketchup and once again she never returned I eventually got up and took it from another table. She never checked on our table and eventually the what appeared to be the manager brought me my Arnold Palmer she was great had a smile on her face awesome service. Ethan made a great first impression when taking our carry out order over the phone. He was polite, patient and well-mannered. He even checked on a side dish we ordered with 2 of our meals and informed us it was no longer available. We were able to make another selection. Did I say he was patient. When we asked for available sides, he gave us all the options. He is a great representative for your brand. Upon arrival, we paid right away and the food was out within 2-3 minutes. The server was Ethan. Hubby asked about utensils, napkins and butter being in the bag. He said there was but still went back for napkins and additional butter. I do not recommend the Goodyear crackerbarrel. Went on Sunday afternoon with family. My plate of food was set down at the table of customers next to us when the 2nd plate was attempting to be served to them, they spoke up and said it wasn't their food, the server then served to our table and set my plate of food in front of me while stating the other table didn't touch it and not even offering to replace it. I ended up not requesting it be remade for 2 reasons, didn't want my family to wait 30min for it to be remade and with the server's attitude about it not being an issue, I didn't trust it going back to being the same plate coming back out. Having worked around restaurants, I know food safety and once a dish, pitcher of liquid, or any other item of food or drink is touching a table of customers, its not to be served to another table of customers. When I mentioned this to their corporate they simply offered a free dessert voucher. This was for a $14 food entree that ended up making me sick about 2hrs later. I dont get dessert and did not have a dessert on my receipt. This is how low they think of food safety apparently. Unacceptable. read more
