I hate writing bad reviews. I like to support local businesses, so if I don't end up liking the food, or if the experience wasn't for me, I just leave it alone instead of writing a bad review. Now I have the time since I won't be able to eat the rest of my food. I ordered over the phone and was told the food would take 15 minutes. I ordered 5 pieces of the Fish Fry and double fries and my girlfriend got the Hatch Chili Burger and upgraded to Sweet Potato fries for $2+ dollars. I live 2 minutes away down the street. I left 20 minutes after my order was made. When I get there I tell the cashier I have a to-go order and he has me pay. After I finish paying, he walks away without saying a word to me and starts sweeping the floor. I just wait and we make eye contact multiple times and he doesn't say anything. I assumed my food was ready because it had already been 25 minutes since I ordered. I realized maybe it's not ready, my mistake, I sit down in the table near the counter. He's watching me sit down and the literal exact moment I sit down he yells out that my order is ready. And when I get up to go get it, that's when he starts putting it in the bag. He doesn't go to the kitchen or anything so I don't know if my order was just sitting there this whole time and he was just waiting for me to sit down for some reason? I'm in no rush so I don't care its been 35 minutes at this point so I give him the benefit of the doubt still, and move on. Stacks the tartar sauce as he's trying to put everything in the bag and the stack falls over and a sauce falls on the floor. He looks at me and looks at the floor then he looks around the sauce drawer and puts another 3rd sauce which I assumed was another tartar sauce. It ended up being ranch. I wouldn't have cared if he just told me that he was out of tartar sauce but I guess trying to deceive me with ranch is a better option. At this point I would've still given a 4 STAR or even 5 STAR review if the food held up because it's a local business and I don't want some weird bald guy deter people from good food. After my 2 minute drive home we opened our containers that held extremely soggy and half cold sweet potato fries. I ordered double fries with my fish so my pile of fries were double soggy and partly cold too. I ate 2 pieces of Fish Fry and they were alright. I would've ordered them again and I was excited because I had a huge piece of fish fry I was going to have next. However I realized it was 2 pieces of fish fry stuck together causing the stuck sides to be soggy and have semi uncooked breading. The biggest piece I was excited for was the biggest disappointment. The only saving grace was the Hatch Chili Burger. The beef patties were soft and cooked well, unlike the last 3 pieces of fish fry. We spent $40 dollars on the entire thing. And we only ate the burger and 2 fish from the meals. Super convenient location for food that I will be completely avoiding in the future. TLDR: Bad service if bald guy is there. Was told 15 minutes but food took around 30-35 minutes. Let's you guess if your food is ready or not after he has you pay. Waits for you to sit down to tell you it's ready when it was possibly just sitting infront of him. Drops tartar sauce and tries to sneak ranch instead of just telling me that he can't/doesn't wanna replace it. Get home, half of order is soggy&cold. ALL fries including upcharged fries were soggy. Only Hatch Chili Burger was good. SPENT $40 and it was 2 meals that were less than mediocre overall. Normally I can ignore most bad service/attitudes but this dude sucked and doesn't like to communicate with customers. I came to Samy's burgers on my way through Goodyear after meeting the owners. I heard they're amazing Story and how involved they are with their community and it made me want to try. I ordered the hatch burger, double the onion rings and the BLT. The onion rings are made with homemade batter and all their sauces are homemade. The burger was fantastic. You could tell it was real meat with special sauce delicious green chilies on good bread with pepper jack cheese. This is one of the best burger places in all of, Arizona. What a bummer. After 7 years in this area, finally made the decision to try this place. 5pm on a Saturday, we were the only customers. The Place was clean, minus a few little things here and there. The environment was ok, nothing to write home about. Employees were relaxing in the lobby watching John Wick. Gentleman in the black shirt was vaping at the table there. I had a double bacon burger. If you said the burgers are juicy here, I would challenge if you have ever had a juicy burger. It was dang near well done and likely frozen patties. It was truly a basic burger, no real flavor. It was not bad, just no better than a jack in the box burger. Bread was soft, I'll say that. My wife had chicken tenders. Bland and small. The fries were ok, didn't seem overly fresh. If they are slow, I can see why. I can comfirm, their soda machine is likely dirty. Our soda tasted like old stale dish water or something. Had to go to QT after to get something decent to drink. 2 meals ran $34. It was a very middle of the road place. No effort. Food quality is MEH at best. So sad, with all the new growth around here, they could have stood out amongst the chain fast food burger joints. We wouldn't bother returning. read more

This place use to provide decent food at an affordable price. But for several years now, Sammy's food and value has dropped off. Nevertheless, I gave them one last chance to change my mind when I ate breakfast there this past Saturday. The service was very slow even though they weren't busy. My husband and I decided to try this place out because he can never find a good pastrami sandwich like in California. Was in the area for an errand and did not know where to go to eat as I headed back home. Found this place by accident. It was darling, local, sporty and has an extensive menu. 4 stars for the taste of food but see below for why I subtracted two stars. I had a club sandwich and it came with fries it was enough for two meals and very good. The drawback is one star off because my Diet Pepsie tasted really bad. It was very off tasting as others have mentioned. Is something wrong with their machines? Not sure if they need to clean the soda fountain machine really good or the combo of gas to syrup is off but it tasted spoiled. Also, this place is very expensive. I struggled to give this 2 stars. Today, I randomly decided I wanted a turkey burger, so I google where I could find one and came across Sammy's. It's, in all honesty, my second time here- I came for breakfast in 2023- it was very mid, the service sucked, it wasn't clean inside, we waited forever and there were MANY ppl waiting.... But, we all have bad days, right? Ok....So, tho I was reluctant to try this place again, I wanted the turkey burger so I said-why not? I looked at the ONLINE TO GO MENU, called and placed my order and went to pick it up. Now online it said the burger was $6 and change- not bad, and a small zucchini fries was $5 and change. I'm anticipating this meal to cost about $13 maybe $14... I get in to pick up and the food is ready...the woman at the counter tells me $18.89...?! Of course I IMMEDIATELY recount my order to her and tell her what the online menu said to which she tells me that "they had someone make the online menu for them and they've been trying to get them to update the prices, but they won't." Sooooo my burger is ACTUALLY $9.99.... I'm IRRITATED because that's LITERALLY FALSE ADVERTISEMENT, but I'm hungry and on my lunch break, so I pay.... Now, I get to the car and try one of my zucchini fries- these are THE BLANDEST, with NOT AN OUNCE of seasoning having, just unappealing tasteless zuch fries I've EVER HAD. I'm instantly pissed. It gets worse... This $10 turkey burger with ONLY (and yes this is how it comes, but I asked for no mayo) questionable lettuce and tomato is as bland as the Zuch fries. The bun wasn't special or too soft really... it was legit just tomato, lettuce and a frozen turkey patty- dasit. Not a big or a generous portion- a just a regular patty, 1 slice of tomato and questionably fresh lettuce-TEN DOLLARS. Because I spent pretty much $20 on this, I tried to eat it- but couldn't finish it bc the zucchini fries had a weird smell, were gross and the only thing that was good about this was the ranch that came from the fries. It was very unclean First thing I noticed is outside. There's a lot of trash on the ground in the parking lot, and when I walked in that air conditioning was barely running, and it was stuffy inside. Nothing seems to be very clean. I couldn't tell you when they last mopped. The tables and chairs all seem to be covered in grime. First thing I asked was if they could tell me if the burger buns had dairy in them, I was told " oh no, we don't make the buns here". I said I understand but If they could just check the label because I'm allergic and need to know if I could eat it. I was told "no". No care whatsoever. In most cases, I would've just turned and walked out because there should be no reason why a restaurant wouldn't have a label on food they are selling to the public, but my husband saw a chicken sandwich and wanted to order. The soda machine has actual sludge coming down the side of it doesn't look like it's been wiped in months or maybe years. The ice machine doesn't work so there's a separate ice machine behind the counter that they have to fill up your ice for you in a cup. It looks crazy cluttered and dirty. The cups for soda are huge, but the Dr Pepper tasted like poop and my husband dumped it out, we tried two other different sodas and they tasted like straw or plastic. I don't know if that has something to do with the soda machine never looking like it's ever been cleaned. The french fry portion is very generous and I have no complaints there, the Burger seems to be just be a very thin frozen patty. Three of us got burgers and one of us got a chicken sandwich. The bun is about 10 times as thick as the burger patty is. I got my burger, lettuce wrapped and felt that the portion of lettuce and pickles was very generous for the burger. My husband's chicken sandwich was not edible. He said it tasted like someone took a frozen slab of chicken and tossed it in the microwave, but it didn't get warmed up all the way. The ketchup bottle has so many layers of grudge on it. I am scared to see what the kitchen looks like. All in all we hope that we won't get food poisoning tonight we basically spent $53 to throw it out, and we all sprayed our hands many times with hand sanitizer when we left. The decor looks like they painted bricks on the wall. There's lots of signs with funny sayings all over the walls. There are two ceiling fans in the dining room, which provide the only airflow it seems. Our table top was clean, but there were layers of dust and grease on the sides of the table where the molding was. All in all maybe it was a cute place back in the day but seems like a public health concern now. read more

I really used to love this place. :( I am so bummed. I want to start off by saying the cashiers are so incredibly nice. This isn't on them. But I cannot excuse being served what I am being served. The first time on my omelette I got black avocado. I kinda just shrugged this one off as a fluke and continued ordering food here as usual, then another time I ordered, on my eggs Benedict I got a black burnt English muffin. I am not understanding how they are okay with serving people this??? How do you cut up an avocado and knowingly serve this to customers playing extra and try to pass it off like that's okay. Hatch chilli burger was like eating a gas station burger. I asked for no onions and guess what I got double onions smh fries were like they have been recooked, my buddy got the beef dip and it was like eating beef jerky, jalapeño poppers were obviously ones from a store no cheese inside and not great at all, mozzarella sticks are all dried out, not stringy at all, and we're freezer burn, I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! This is greasy burger and sandwich food. Yummy when you want to have a homemade type burger or sandwich. Today we had a cheeseburger and tenderloin. You order at counter and if eating on site they bring you out your food. Staff has always been pleasant and friendly. It reminds me of half diner half sports bar, minus TVs, etc. It is a favorite when you want to sit down, enjoy a burger without the fast food ambiance.
