Our waitress gave us the wrong ticket and when Mom confronted her about it she said she gave someone ours and the manager and her both tried to get us to pay the $36 ticket. Said it was cheaper then our own. When we demanded our original ticket it turns out ours was over $10 cheaper. Only $24. The fact that the manager lied to our face just makes me so angry. They tried to rip us off to pay someone else's ticket. Of course the people who got ours took that ticket and ran! read more

Food from here gets progressively worse and worse each time I visit. Incomparable to any other Cracker Barrel location in the southern US. Portion size is terrible compared to price and tonight our waitress had a terrible attitude. Seven tables occupied (I take into account 2 were larger parties. Also I have worked food service before for this company. However after waiting 10 minutes at host station with no regard from wait staff or any staff then eight minutes after being seated before any acknowledgement from staff again. What was to be a leisurely breakfast before work is now a rushed breakfast due to staff. I seen 6 people in aprons running around like it was a first day for them all. This manager Zack needs a vacation!! He was grossly understaffed at 1pm for lunch. Large amount of vacant tables with many frustrated customers stuffed like sardines in their gift shop waiting to be seated. We didn't take it out on our server by not tipping, but you normally do not expect to dedicate over an hour of your trip just to grab lunch. Today we should have grabbed a quick sandwich to go elsewhere. Unfortunate, unnecessary situation. Just need better management. read more

2/25/2016 around 6:30 p.m. Central time. Ordered gravy and biscuits with turkey sausage. Ate the sausage could not eat the gravy. Ask for jelly and honey and two more biscuits. Was told they were out of biscuits but more was being baked. One cashier working register with customers lined up. Cashier called for more help ... No one came to help. Went to Cracker Barrel's online survey and entered my access code and survey. Followed all steps to completed the survey. Touched enter and a picture of a stupid sock monkey came up saying " something went wrong." Tried two more times and gave up. Meatloaf is my favorite at Cracker Barrel and I haven't had a bad meal yet at the Jasper location. Also love their catfish, both the fried and grilled. The new fried chicken was a pleasant surprise as it was very good. My only complaint is that sometimes on online orders the Jasper location tends to make small mistakes, like putting fresh apples in the bag when the order was for fried apples. Also leaving to go silverware out. Other than that it is great. The blueberry pancakes seem as big as a hub cap and very, very tasty. read more

The food was great. The issue I had was the dishonesty. I asked to have a document printed from my laptop after I finished my meal. The response from the manager was," the system is closed." I asked to email a paper and have it printed out from another computer. It's a computer, if the system is off, which I highly doubt it is off in mid day, then it takes two minutes to cut the computer on. That's fine if you don't want to print a paper for a customer, but at least be honest. Don't lie. He manager choose to lie, while hiding. read more

I ordered the homestyle chicken and it came with two sides and HUGE pieces of chicken for only $9.99. i was full before i even got to my second piece of chicken. The green beans were kind of soggy and didn't taste too great. My boyfriend got an 8oz sirloin and the flavor was GREAT! Our waiter was very nice and great service! read more

This cracker barrel is hit and miss. This past Saturday, Nov 10th was a BIG miss. We were seated and watched others seated after us get service before us. I finally had to flag a waitress down to place a drink order. When I go in a place and spend 50 dollars on 4 breakfasts I can get conservatively for 25 dollars locallyI expect a little better service. They got our order wrong several times (missing items) and my daughter was not offered refill on her sweet tea. A good waiter/waitress notices these things. I understand they were busy, but I have been many places busier where the service was better. read more

We thought the food was very good, came out fast, fresh and hot. Our server, Genisee, was great. I (we) have managed and owned restaurants, prior to retiring, and I (we) would have loved to have her on any of our staffs. From what I observed, the rest of the staff was very good. The food was good but not as outstanding as I've coke to expect from Cracker Barrel. The service was pitiful considering we were one of maybe 7 tables with customers in the entire restaurant. It took forever to get our food and our youngest spilled their tea in the floor. Instead of cleaning it up the waiters stepped in it multiple times and tracked it throughout the restaurant, even out into the gift shop area. We had to ask for biscuits and cornbread after we finally received our food. I've had the same waiter before and he was so much better the first time. The Cracker Barrel model is everywhere and it's pretty standard, except here. The place is awful. I stopped going after waiting for an hour and getting cold food, being out of items and then telling you 20 minutes later and just plain wrong. Actually called their Corperate office and complained. I've been comped on our order about 50% of the time because of a goof. However the last time I went in June of 17 they have improved to descent. Can't wait for another year till they reach Fair. Keep driving to the next Cracker Barrel and save yourself some grief. read more

They had a full house yesterday. Seating was quick with only a 5 minute wait, if that long. Meals were served exceptionally fast. I never expected that kind of service considering the numerous customers being served. I throughly enjoyed the lemon pepper trout. The sweetened tea was on the overly sweet side, but the waitress didn't mind fixing it to perfect taste. The brussel, kale salad was in a very sweet clear slaw type dressing. I would have preferred a lightly seasoned approach of squeezed lemon or a light balsamic or red wine vinegarette dressing that isn't as sweet but compliments the natural flavors of the vegetables. I could have asked for something else, but I drained off the dressing and that worked. Will I eat there again? You bet I will! I enjoyed the surroundings and decor, like an old timey farm house. I've eaten at Cracker Barrel's all over the place and this one is the absolute worst one I've ever been to. The food is delicious BUT the service is absolutely brutal. Yes, it was this was before Covid. Today, it took forever to get seated. I saw 7 different employees while waiting and there were only 6 tables seated at the time. After we were seated, another 15 minutes for drink orders. Took about 5 minutes to get them out. Took our order, 35 minutes to get our food. Had to ask more than once for a coffee refill and I'm not a fast coffee drinker. Once our food got here, only had one set of silverware so of course I gave it to my kid and waited 10 more minutes for her to bring it. What she didn't realize, I was sitting where I could see into the kitchen. EVERY time we had to wait, it was bc of her standing back there talking. I was highly aggravated but still nice. These are the reasons people don't leave tips. I believe in tipping and I'm a VERY generous tipper if the service is good but when you're horrible, expect a horrible tip. I understand people have off-days but this is a very common thing at this location. read more

They could soak their breakfast in dirty dish water and I would still love it. It is that fantastic. They have bottles of Stewart's orange cream soda!!!!! The store no longer has those little brain teaser puzzle thingamabobs, like two nails twisted together that you have to figure out how to take apart. That is disappointing. If zero stars were possible, that would be the selection. We arrived on a busy night but was seated quickly. It went down hill from there. Zero training for the staff is quite obvious. A waitress smacking gum and shirt untucked was quite unprofessional. Our waitress, Maddy was very inexperienced. "When your ready to order, flag me down". Instead of 'excuse me' or 'pardon' when she didn't hear my son's order, we got a 'what?'. My food came after an hour wait. My family waited another ten minutes. I have never sent food back in 43 year of dining. How do you screw up a salad? Soggy, ice cold rubber chicken, disgusting. She brought my wife the wrong food three times and when it finally came out sort of correct, the roast beef was cold and a sad piece of meat. One of her sides was left off. I don't expect great food at Cracker Barrel but average food and great service is the norm. We are 0 for 3 in the service and food department at the Jasper location. And then there was the checkout...one register on a busy night staffed by a 'Rising Star'. It all starts at the top, with management. Corporate should be embarrassed with this store. Bad service and bland food is the norm here. I recommend going next door to the truck stop and getting the three day old hotdog off of the roller instead. read more
