Good old Cracker Barrel. Still same good service and friendly staff. Food was good. Will come back.

I believe in giving any Restaurant three strikes before giving them a negative review. My last three visits to two different. Cracker Barrel's have been disappointing to say the least. The new management of Cracker Barrel has totally lost their way. When they don't have bone in chicken, they serve meatloaf that's more like oatmeal, and cold eggs for breakfast. Their down-home country food looks and tastes good when you dine in --- but their take out service is pathetic. We are Rewards members and every time they have messed up take out order. Burned fried chicken. No gravy on pork chops. Tiny portions on the Turkey dinner that didn't look anything like their menu. Oh, they even forgot the Cranberry Sauce! Their gift shop is their only saving grace - love it! read more

i have. ordered delivery several times from the E. Mall Rd. store and have stopped. The order 90% of the time was missing an item. It has arrived all spilled out in the paper bag. Their packaging is horrible. Food delivered in plastic containers with lids that do leak, placed in paper bag, not sealed. Do not order drink for delivery as it come un protected no seal. I love eating here. In the dining room but their procedures for delivery are unacceptable. If you cannot accommodate safe packaging for delivery then do not offer it. read more

After driving 3 hours to visit with family in Knoxville and celebrate Christmas with them over the weekend, we stopped here for supper before checking into our lodging. We were seated at a table after a 25 minute wait while we wandered through the gift shop. The gift shop and dining room seemed full for a Thursday night, but not out of the ordinary for a Cracker Barrel located off an interstate. After another wait, a server arrived and took our orders, promising to bring us some hot biscuits and cornbread with our drinks, and I asked for apple butter with my biscuits. After waiting again, we received our drinks, but no bread! Hubby tasted his iced tea and it was sweet tea. We tried to get the attention of our server to get it switched to unsweetened tea since he is diabetic and cannot drink sweet tea, but she had disappeared! After another wait of at least 30 more minutes, our food was delivered by someone who seemed to be having a very bad day. All of the food was lukewarm to cold, like it had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. At this point Hubby was finally able to ask for his tea to be replaced. After asking about the biscuits and cornbread, they were finally brought to the table, without the apple butter, and were the only hot food we received. Since we all were hungry, we ate the less than satisfactory food. When the server brought the check I asked a third time for the apple butter and finally received it! After finishing the biscuits and apple butter, we paid our bill and left. With all of the waiting, we spent two hours here when it should have taken about half of that time, and all we received was cold food, bad service, and a bad attitude. Over the decades and various locations where we have patronized Cracker Barrel, we have never had such a bad experience! read more

Our food was so good. our steaks done to order. our server McCorey, was superb. a real sweethear. our glasses were kept full and he was super polite. Took my grandmother there tonight to eat The waiters come by and got a drinks took forever to get our drinks and never did bring us any bread and then when she brought her food my grandmother's order was right mine was completely messed up My son got grilled chicken breast they brought him fried chicken tenders seen it back then they bringing grilled chicken tenders I ordered the chicken fried chicken they brought me fried chicken asked for okra dumplings and pinto beans got everything but the pinto beans no gravy on the chicken she never came back by and asked us how everything was finally talked to the manager she took one meal completely off of our ticket but the mail was still $40 It wasn't worth $2 in my book probably never go back to this cracker barrel The girl may have been new but good God get your head out of your ass read more

The dumplings was so big and thick they was not done on the In side and his side order was Pinto beans and they needed to cook maybe another 30 minutes they was hard so he sent them back and got mashed potatoes . I got Country fried steak and. 2 sides dumplings and greens with the stems still on them . I had more stems than greens. We always have a good waitress !! The worst service we've had and food my boyfriend had. His food was cold the sides were cold. We asked her to touch the meatloaf dish he received and she said if he received another piece it would be cold or, same temperature as well and she would have to microwave it. She was horrible. He's never had a meal this terrible. This was not even Health Inspection worthy of passing. This was the most disappointing meal in 40 years at a Cracker Barrel. We will never come back to this location again. Krystal was not even sympathetic her attitude was like oh well I'll just have to get you another one that is cold. This is a chain restaurant which are normally not my favorite. I have to say though that my experiences with cracker barrel have usually been pretty good. This morning I had the old timers breakfast. That's biscuits, gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, and hashbrown casserole. There are other sides to choose from but those are the ones I like. I also got the barrel bites. I like to call them devil tots because I love them. Barrel bites are tater tots with bacon and melted cheddar cheese with ranch dipping sauce. Yum. Our waitress was so sweet and really did a wonderful job. A good experience. Well be back. read more

We were a party of 3. When Haley came to take our orders, one of us requested a separate check. The order was combined with ours. We waited approximately 30 minutes for our food after it was brought to the mgr attention. The green beans were barely warm, scrambled eggs were still runny, asked for link sausage-patties were on the plate. Was told they only had spicy chicken sausage in links. Fresh tea was requested, it arrived with no ice or lemon which came originally. Had requested extra salad dressing, didn't get that. Mentioned it-she received 1/2 of container. Mgr. Said he could cook my food if I wanted. A box was requested but Haley wanted to finish talking to the couple behind us before she got it. The service was good and pretty quick and the young lady who brought it out to our vehicle was very nice. However the hash town casserole appears to have been in the container for some time and potentially refrigerated and the reheated. It was inedible. The same could be said about the mashed potatoes. I had requested utensils and salt and pepper as we were staying in a hotel. It was marked on the receipt, but was not in the bag. Top notch service from our waiter tonight. Management was also doing some genuine table touching and really seemed to care. Food came out hot and tasted good. Everyone we encountered was friendly and efficient. 100x better than our visit 2 weeks earlier in Straw Plains which was so horrible I almost wouldn't try this new one tonight. The host was super friendly, but the service from our actual server was lacking. Usually when you come to a Cracker Barrel and order a meal they give you a choice of a biscuit or corn bread complimentary. I had asked my server to bring me out some jelly for those said biscuits and never mentions anything of those biscuits after I asked for that. My friend then asked if we were to get biscuits and the server proceeded to tell us to that if we wanted ONE biscuit we would have to be charged. I get that if we were ordering multiple, but we were expecting one which they usually give you way more in the basket that you are given with your option of cornbread or biscuits. We were charged $1.50 which came with two biscuits, but it is still the principal. We asked multiple times and she was rude when telling us that we would have to be charged. Pretty disappointing experience honestly & I am pretty understanding since I was a server for many years. Our server was a "five star" but it was anything but five star service. We waited on our food for 45 minutes while people around us got there later and got their food first & we were left waiting while having two small kids with us. We asked for iced mochas with no whip cream, got warm mochas with whip cream after about 15 minutes of ordering. Once we eventually got our food, mine was cold, my husbands was okay, and my 1 year olds was piping hot. We would have been fine waiting if our orders were correct. I do not blame the chef by any means, it was definitely the server. We had to ask for more sweet tea twice, the attentiveness was just not there. We saw her all of 3 times maybe, but saw other servers multiple times helping all their tables. From what I could see, we were the only table she was helping and if she wasn't at our table, she was in the back. Probably won't come back to this location and if we do, we won't be having her serve us. read more

I would not recommend this location of Cracker Barrel. This is because it took them an overextended time to bring out drinks that took no time to prepare and when they did come out the waitress spilled some of my drink on me. When the food came out I was with my friend and before handing out my friend her food the waitress plucked a hair off her food (friend's food). Before all of this happened A man had walked out of the dining area and said "I'm done! Where's the manager?" The only thing that was fairly decent was the environment. read more

My order was ready in the estimated amount of time. However, they had left off my grits. I called to see if I could get them, and the line was on a recorded loop that wasn't answered. I went back in to get them, and it was 15 minutes before they were ready. By then all of my food was cold. My eggs sunny side up had firm yolks when I received them, even before the food had to be reheated. The staff was friendly, but there was nothing offered for my wait. Place an online order almost two hours ago and my fiancé got home and realized we were missing two things after he had to was an extra 30 minutes past the time the food was supposed to be ready. Now that Cracker Barrel is wet (serves alcohol after 51 years of being dry) we have never, nor will we, set foot in any of them again. They are now dead to us. It was a good run while it lasted. It's getting harder to find a family restaurant thats not fast food that don't serve booze, but they're out there. I have not set foot in a Cracker Barrel in at least 30 years. I was partially reluctant to come due to some stories from the 80's and 90's about discrimination. But, I did a quick Google search and found that Cracker Barrel has made great strides forward in a short time when it comes to treating their employees fairly. We came on a Monday morning and there was still a short wait. That gives you a clue to the popularity of the place. But, we did not wait more than 5 minutes before we were seated in a nice table by the window. Our waitress showed up quickly with water and coffee. She kept our water and coffee filled during our entire breakfast and even after when we lingered a bit. She was polite, attentive and cheerful. The menu is extensive. A wide wide choice of typical southern breakfast foods including grits, pork chops, country fried steaks, and many different kinds of pancakes. We had a plate full of biscuits which were great. The bacon was crispy, and the cinnamon pancakes were some of the best I have ever had. Afterwards, we perused the gift shop for a bit before taking off. Lots of knicknacks and food items for purchase their including things such as coffee, pancake mix, and more. I'll definitely visit the Cracker Barrel again! read more

Came here for Sunday brunch and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't expect much from a chain restaurant but the food was good and the service was excellent! I ordered the chicken fried steak with dumplings, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The sides were the stars of the show for me. The chicken fried steak itself was a little dry even with the white gravy. The macaroni and cheese was delicious! The dumplings were amazing! And the mashed potatoes were good, but nothing spectacular. The service should also be noted because we had the sweetest waitress who accomodated a party of 9 with grace and much positive energy. Went there for Thanksgiving dinner. We were looking forward to having a Thankagiving dinner there for years since they don't have one anywhere we lived. When we had Thanksgiving dinner in Prescott, AZ, 6 years ago, it was incredibly delicious with an enormous amount of food. We talked about it for years and couldn't wait to have our Thanksgiving dinner there. Unfortunately, we were so disappointed. The food was cold, and the green beans tasted like they were straight out of the can with no seasoning, not as advertised on the menu. The stuffing tasted like soap fell in there and was crunchy/burnt. I couldn't eat it. Not much gravy on the turkey. The cranberry sauce was served in one of those very tiny small black to go containers with the cap, and the cranberries seemed to be the kind out of the can, not made fresh like the one in AZ. I'm writing this in hopes that they will improve, but I doubt I'll try this one again. It was so disappointingly bad. read more

Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy 1 cornbread roll and 1 biscuit $5.99 A disappointment because the meatloaf was about a 3 or 3 1/2 oz only about 1/2 inch thick. I would consider it a children's menu portion. There was no gravy on the mashed potatoes or butter. Someone messed up. The side of dumplings tasted as if the dumplings were under cooked and doughy. Turkey with dressing, sweet potatoes and 2 biscuits for $5.99 It was ok but not anything beyond what was expected. We drive by here very often, it is close by. I know this chain has a great reputation. Both of us will try different choices next time. But if not better it will be my last from here. read more

Called restaurant and made 3 attempts at placing my ordered but after waiting on hold for over 10 minutes each time, waiting for a server to take order each time. I gave up. Tried calling the corporate number..........."sorry, all representatives are busy. Leave your name and number and we'll call you back" Still waiting.................................................. Tried to go onto the CrackerBarrel.com site to fill complaint. Waited for 45 minutes for site to "Load" then site closed itself.
