Inside of the restaurant

The chicken was done perfectly! The broccoli was a tiny bit undercooked. Our waitress forgot to bring our drinks to start with. The atmosphere was AWESOME! Love the store attached to it with so many great finds including jewelry, signs, candy, reusable bags, clothes, books. Definitely worth a stop if you have never been!

Burnt Meatloaf!

The meatloaf was burnt and dry, like setting out. The mashed potatoes on my plate were also dried out and had a hard surface. Again, my carrots were dry and at room temperature, not cold or hot. The drink had very little ice. The waitress forgot about us. Did not bring out biscuits until after I ate, what part of the food was edible. The gravy served was breakfast sausage gravy. The Taco Bell workers have better culinary skills. I would rate a zero if possible. It took 20 minutes after we asked our ticket to get it

This was a loaded sweet potato with marshmallow & pecans soooo delicious!

We were visiting from California and this location was really nice. All the employees were friendly. The food was Excellent! But our waitress was AMAZING! Her name was Tracy and she was quick friendly & on top of everything! Best service I've had in a while.

Finally got to experience Bucee's older cousin, Cracker Barrel, and in no better place than in Little Rock Arkansas. Was surprised how quickly we were sat even though it was a full house on a Saturday afternoon. The food came out pretty quickly as well and I enjoyed every bit of it. I'm a traditional breakfast girl through and through and the ol Barrel didn't disappoint. Pancakes were on point with that cute little maple syrup bottle, biscuits were great. Was terrible at that peg game that's at every table but I'll get it next time. You just kinda can't beat that atmosphere and price point!

Cracker Barrel used to be one place you could consistently find eatable food. Not this place! I ordered chicken dumplings with broccoli. The broccoli had mild on it and the corn bread had some substance burnt into it. It was awful. The chicken dumplings were a glob of watery flour. The coffee was barely warm and tasted bitter. The server was nice and did his best, but the food was the worst I've been served ever. It is obvious that the kitchen don't care.

No toast. ??

Long wait times in every part of process at 10 am on a weekday. No toast. Pretty sad little breakfast. At one time, this was one of my favorite chains. No more!

Shocking service, sat like an idiot for 10 minutes and servers served a guy who came in later before us.

The restaurant didn't have many ingredients, no lettuce to make salads, the roast beef dinner was not edible, tasted horrible.

I've personally worked my way through most of the menu over time, so I was excited for them to try it. It was around 9am so it was still fairly quiet and calm. Believe me it gets busy!! We started with orange juice and a Sunrise Matcha while we looked over the menu and caught up. The service was excellent (always) attentive, friendly, and relaxed, which made it easy to take our time. My companion ordered the B Street Bowl (potatoes, smoked brisket, onions, and peppers) with the queso served on the side and eggs cooked to order(fried hard). I ordered The Chenal which is their seasoned grilled shrimp with bacon, peppers, and tomatoes over cheesy grits. I added an over-medium egg and a side of hollandaise. Both dishes were delicious and incredibly satisfying. The portions were huge, and we each ended up taking a to-go box home for a mini meal later. It's the kind of brunch spot where you can sip your drink, take your time, and leave very full. Tip: If you order the B Street Bowl, getting the queso on the side lets you control the richness. Everything is amazing here. If you're a newbie, you can't go wrong with a Benedict!

It was lunchtime, and even though I thought I wanted something sweet like French toast the brisket wrap caught my eye, and I decided to give that a try instead. Meanwhile, the nice lady sitting next to me received her bananas, foster pancakes, and I immediately started kicking myself for not going that route. Her bananas were beautifully caramelized with quite a bit of sauce, topping the pancakes, and it looked heavenly. According to her, it was heavenly. Moments later, my brisket wrap arrived with the tiniest little container of a garlic aïoli, which was clearly homemade. The rap itself was jampacked full of succulent, perfectly cooked beef, but when you put a little bit of that aïoli on there, it really stepped its game up and shined! I left completely stuffed in a very happy camper and you will too. Enjoy!

Traveling through a Little Rock for work, my group decided to grab breakfast before flying out. We came in due to the raving reviews from a multitude of online sources and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Root Benny and the blueberry muffin based on the host's recommendation. First cut into my poached egg and I already knew it was the start of a culinary journey. Absolute flavor and texture perfection. The seasonal greens (steamed kale?) paired so well with the greens and the crostini was the perfect vehicle for yolk dipping. The blueberry muffin was small but delicious--exactly what you should expect from a muffin. I wish I would've remembered to order the cookies to go. I suppose I'll have to come back.

They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a menu that features a fresh and healthier take on classic southern food. I really enjoyed the spicy tofu bowl with grits and collared greens, their homemade cornbread, and strawberry shortcake for dessert! I also liked their arancini which was on the specials menu. Their classic lemonade was delicious, and the perfect complement to my meal. I'd highly recommend The Root Cafe for a memorable meal!

One of our friends (and a Little Rock native) recommended Boulevard Bread Company, and we're so grateful that we stopped to check this cute spot out! There are a few Boulevard locations in Little Rock, and while this one wasn't the most convenient to the highway, it was still open for lunch as we were driving through the city around 2:30 PM. I placed our order online from the road, so when we pulled in, our sandwiches were ready and waiting! I'm glad we did order ahead, as they were still pretty busy when we arrived. We grabbed a table and enjoyed our lunch inside the cafe. We split a couple of their signature sandwiches, and our favorite of the two was the pastrami. The rye bread pairs quite nicely with the roast beef. We also shared the turkey sandwich, which was good but not as memorable as the pastrami. I can confidently say that we'd make Boulevard our new go-to road trip stop in Little Rock! From the freshly baked bread and tasty sandwiches to the friendly service, this is a solid spot for lunch.

After being added to the waitlist, we grabbed drinks at the bar and waited outside for our table. About 25 minutes later, we checked back in with the hostess, only to find out that the iPad they use to manage the waitlist had died. She apologized, and we were seated shortly afterward. However, it left us wondering how much longer we would have waited had we not checked in ourselves. To make matters more frustrating, we noticed at least one party that arrived after us was seated before we were. Unfortunately, the service didn't improve after we were seated. We sat at our table for about 10 minutes without being greeted by anyone. Several servers walked past, made eye contact with us, and continued on without offering menus, water, or even letting us know someone would be with us shortly. After waiting with no acknowledgment at all, we decided to leave. I understand that busy weekends can lead to delays, and mistakes like technology issues happen. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication and attentiveness throughout our visit. An acknowledgment or update would have gone a long way. We left feeling overlooked and unwelcome, and can't recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

So when I finally got the chance to stop by for an early dinner with a friend, I was excited. Unfortunately, the reality of the experience just didn't live up to the expectations. The two stars are strictly for the vibes--because eating outside under the stars on a warmed patio in the fall? That was beautiful. The atmosphere was exactly what I wanted: cozy, inviting, and perfect for a chill evening. Our server team was friendly, and everyone committed to us having a nice time there--including the cooks. But the food? Completely unseasoned. Everything was cooked well, but there was zero flavor. I mean, none. It felt like whoever made it had all the technique in the world but forgot to add even a pinch of salt. And because I met the cook, I'd venture to guess that's how Red Door told him to cook it. I'm pretty sure he seasons his food at home. For a place I had been waiting so long to try, the lack of flavor was a huge turnoff--especially since this spot ain't cheap. If you're coming for the ambiance, you'll have a great time. Just grab some appetizers and you'll be good to go. But if you're coming for flavorful food that makes you want to come back? This ain't it. I won't be rushing to return.
