Made a HUGE breakfast order. It was my first time ordering catering from them for a provider breakfast, needless to say, NEVER again. my $15 coffee came as a half gallon jug. No way to keep it warm when it's in a little plastic milk jug. Never mind the fact how ridiculous it looked to put out on a table. Most places sell coffee in a nice container, so it can sit on a table. I ordered biscuits and gravy. They gave me gravy with no biscuits. I had $140 worth of food and not a single serving utensil. I asked for some sugar-free syrup in addition to the little bottles of regular syrup they give you and it was leaking and sticky and ended up all over the food items. They sent me my drinks, but 0 cups. Even if we wanted to drink the lukewarm coffee out of the milk jug we wouldn't have had any cups to do so. Our sausages were burnt to a crisp, no one ate them. Just an underwhelming experience altogether. I showed up at 8:30 to pick up my order. It wasn't ready yet. I don't mind waiting a few minutes. I ordered it at 8:30 knowing I didn't have my breakfast until nine, but had I known parts of my order we're going to be missing and what a sloppy mess it would've been. I would've ordered sooner so I could've cleaned it up before I presented it. I don't even know if the food was good, I just know it looked like crap and parts of it were missing. It was such a great deal getting the Thanksgiving plate because its like a little Thanksgiving sampler as well as a dessert and a drink. So worth it! I love Cracker Barrel. Food is always tasty and have been coming here since my childhood. Customer service is always pretty great. I feel that attention to detail lacks when it comes to to-go orders. Multiple times I've checked my orders and had to go back inside because I was missing items. Moral of the story: Always check your bag before you pull off! read more

This time was just the opposite. Restaurant was clean, staff friendly. Our server was fantastic. Kept stopping by and kept us informed regarding our meal. Condiments were brought to table right after we placed our order. Food however was disappointing. Ordered the garlic steak bites. There was no sauce on any of the three orders. Server kept checking back with us, and explained that they ran out of sauce and that the kitchen was in the process of thawing out more. Not sure what it is about my allure to Cracker Barrel, possibly a combination of home cooked meals and the gift store. In my opinion, they have great tasting pancakes. I am also a fan of grits, so this menu item is a go-to regardless of my choice of entree. Portion size is decent and reasonably priced. Service is always good, even when the restaurant is packed. Server was fine, food was disgusting, I couldn't wait to get in here as I haven't eaten here in many years but was hungry for a chicken fried steak with country gravy and mashed potatoes, I was salivating at the thought of it and then, the food arrived at my table and it all went down hill. The taste of any of this gross so called food left me wanting to vomit. Meat tasted rotten, gravy like tasteless paste with a hint of a garbage disposal drain... My date said it tasted like dirty feet and after wondering for a few minutes how she would know what that tasted like, I remained calm, kept a half smile and asked for the check and then.... I couldn't hold back. I told the server this was absolutely disgusting and she says well yeah I see you didn't eat much of it so I was going to ask.... I wanted so bad for her to taste this disgusting food that I had literally taken 3 bites of and couldn't take a 4th. Seated right away, that was good. Ordered drinks pretty quickly, also good. Downhill from there... ordered our food. Asked for a basket of biscuits. Sat for 15 minutes before the food came at the same time as the biscuits. The last 20 years they've always asked if we want them before the food. No one asked us and they didn't come before the food. Our daughter's chicken tenders were like rubber. My bacon was not extra crispy as I had asked. I phrased it "I'd like it basically burned" it came floppy. We also did not get utensils until 5 minutes after receiving our meals. I never complain, but this was a sub par experience. I could also see our server whispering about us with the other servers in the doorway of the kitchen. Manager came out to talk with us when we told our server we were just ready for the check. Went for thanksgiving dinner with my boyfriend's family, service and food were okay, food took a little long but overall the meal portion of my visit to Cracker Barrel was pleasant. Things changed when after our meal me and my boyfriend went into the gift shop. We were looking for a candle and some ornaments for our Christmas tree. We were doing good until some bigger white lady came up and basically asked if we wanted to keep our items behind the register. I've worked retail so I knew immediately she was profiling us as shoplifters. Mind you, we've never shoplifted a day in our lives :) she continuously watched us like a hawk. We found our things and headed to the register because at this point it was making us uncomfortable and pissed off. I had to go to the bathroom really badly, after just eating a whole meal and staying there for 2 hours, so my boyfriend was paying and I asked the lady where the bathroom was. She told me where and when I walked away, before even ringing our things out went over her walkie and told her coworker to "watch the bathrooms" right in front of my boyfriend. When I walked out of the bathroom there was a worker standing outside of it and staring my boyfriend down. The bigger white lady was standing right beside the door. We walked out and said have a good night and happy thanksgiving. Should've told her instead of profiling us she should stock the bathroom with toilet paper. Do better. We stopped at the Maumee Cracker Barrel on our return trip home to Chicago after Thanksgiving. My brother-in-law had eaten there previously and said the food was OK. I was absolutely appalled at the service in this restaurant. Our waiter was extremely unfriendly. So unpleasant. Upon entering, I waited at the unattended hostess station for a minute or two. I went there last night to get their old fateful Roast Beef Dinner and was surprised to learn they changed the name to Pot Roast. (all their locations have adopted this menu). It was not good, not even close to the original and they raised the price to $15.49. This is plainly a prime example of a money grab. Not that long ago this type of meal was $8.95. Horrible experience at the Cracker Barrel on Ford St. in Maumee. OH. 82 degrees outside and freezing inside the restaurant. My food was cold before I could eat even a third of it. (Meatloaf dinner with 2 sides). Serving staff all had jackets on and informed us they had asked the manager to raise the indoor temperature but she declined. One man went out to his vehicle to retrieve a jacket for his wife. The majority of diners had jackets on. The table of 4 next to us also complained about the freezing temperature with one woman showing the server her goose bumps. Our server offered to heat my meal again but why bother? I like this location. Whether to go or eat in the service is good. Orders come out correctly. No begging for extra napkins, they bring them out no problem. I'm especially a fan of the breakfast. If u are a turkey meat fan, the turkey sausage is the bomb. I snuck a piece on my mans plate and he didn't even know the difference. The lunch/dinner options are no slouch either. We were seated right away, which was nice, but since it was close to 7:00 I wasn't surprised, since their usual clientele is most likely getting ready for bed at this time. One guest got the strawberry mimosa and it was the saddest looking drink ever. Part of the champagne was poured into the glass, but then some was in the bottle. The total amount of liquid in the glass looked smaller than the bottle of champagne...even with the strawberry purée (I'm guessing that's what it was). The gravy on the country fried steak was very gelatinous, when the guest asked our server to take it back because she didn't like it there was no offer of anything else or a reduction in price. My daughter and I had fried pickles (fantastic), French toast, and cheesecake filled strawberry pancakes. My daughter really liked her French toast and eggs and my pancakes were good but I have an issue with them not being able to offer any other sides in place of eggs and meat. There are so many people who are vegetarian now and it's cheaper to offer potatoes than meat anyways! When I walked into this location, there was a very bad smell permeating throughout the restaurant. This should have been my indication to leave but I wanted my veggie plate and sweet tea. I was promptly seated and waited and waited. It was about 15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged my presence. By that time I knew what I wanted to I ordered my tea, veggie plate and biscuits. The server stated she would bring my biscuits first while I waited. Again, I waited and waited. Another 15 minutes passed by before I got my tea and biscuits. When the food arrived, it was okay. The cole slaw had an off-putting flavor and the mac n' cheese had a slight burnt taste to it. The okra was good and plentiful. Once I finished it took a while longer to get my check. I placed my order at 5:37pm via the app. I received an email confirmation stating my pick up time would be 5:58pm. I arrived at the restaurant at 5:58, the young lady at the counter stated my order wasn't up so I stepped the side. At about 6:09pm a young man brings some orders to the front, I inquire about my order and he states that he believes he saw my name and order being bagged and should be up in about 5 min. At 6:28 I was still waiting for my order after many other orders came up. I asked for a manager, Kristin the manager comes up from and seemed very bothered from the start of the conversation. I inquired about my order, showed her my email confirmation, she assumed I was a DoorDash driver and told me that door dash can't give a time of when order would be ready. I informed I wasn't a DoorDash driver and this was my personal order. I tell her about the gentleman who said "5 minutes on my order" and she proceeds to tell me that they would never say 5 minutes because it's a camp fire meal and takes time to cook. And she walks away. At approximately another manager approached and asked myself and a gentleman if we had been helped. I explained the situation showed her the time that I placed my order and ask her did she feel this was an acceptable time to wait for an order. She states no and apologized. I finally received my order, which was only 2 meals, around 6:39pm. It took an hour and 2 minutes to receive my order. Cracker Barrel in Maumee is one of my favorite places especially for their country style breakfasts. This morning began strangely in the parking lot. I got a front row space since there were only four cars in the parking lot. We were seated right away (after we browsed through the Country Store) but no one came with water until we had to ask. Not too long later we got our coffee and water. We were told a bus group had just left so everyone was tired. Our order came and my husband's eggs were over easy and he asked for scrambled but not really a big problem. All the other side dishes were fine. This is one of the worst Cracker Barrels we've eaten at. It was at least 10 minutes after we were seated before anyone acknowledged us and asked for our drink order. They were not busy at all...which should have been our sign. The service was sub par, and the restaurant in general was dirty. This is Cracker Barrel. You know what to expect and they deliver. Summer means Campfire Chicken and Beef foil dinners with new Potatoes, carrots, onion, tomato. Plus the requisite biscuits and corn bread. Wait staff was attentive but not overly. Wood chairs and no sound absorption remain their big drawbacks. tl;dr: I was pleasantly surprised by Cracker Barrel's healthy food options, and I could definitely see myself going back again. When my parents told me that they wanted to go to Cracker Barrel for lunch, I couldn't help but be a little disappointed. I ordered the grilled Chicken Tenderloin with 3 sides of Fresh Steamed Broccoli. The chicken was actually very juicy and flavorful and potentially some of the best chicken I've had in a while. The broccoli was more of a mixed bag. Two of my bowls were a little undercooked while one was a little undercooked. Overall though, it was satisfactory. I also ate a bit of my mom's Lemon Pepper Grilled Rainbow Trout, and I was also very pleased with it. I'm glad to report that Cracker Barrel offers very good tasting and healthy options. In conclusion, while I don't think I would ever drive out to eat at a Cracker Barrel, I would be more than happy to go back again if I'm driving on a highway and need somewhere to eat. read more
