The food made us sick. I am not sure I was supposed to be eaten. The drinks were so watered down that they tasted like water. The wait staff never came back to ask if we needed anything. Terrible service, waitress didn't listen to our requests and didn't bring jelly with the cornbread and the biscuits only brought butter. The food was bland and was terrible. The waitress also took 25 minutes to bring me two creamers and seemed upset when I asked for more or when we asked for other items. we come here 2 to 3 times a month food is always good. Atmosphere is great . Service is normally great never a bad experience until tonight. we got seated and it took 15 minutes for our waiter to even come to our table to ask us what we would like to drink then we told him that we was ready to order and we start to order then he says hold on a minute and walks away and took another 10 minutes before he came back so we could order. Hostess and our server were very friendly. Our server was fast and very visible, always checking on us. Great atmosphere, not noisy or cramped. We were very comfortable. My food however left something to be desired. I asked for three scrambled eggs and when the dish came, the eggs were not scrambled at all, but resembled a hard egg omelette. My grits were extremely watery, looked like half cornmeal and half liquid. When I asked for another order, the server came back and said "The entire pan is watery like that" and offered to take a drink off the bill to compensate. I agreed, but would have rather had some creamy grits. My sausage was incredible as usual, and so was my whole wheat toast. Cracker Barrel is a chain restaurant found near most interstates. It's a great place to stop if you are on a long trip and want an "easy on, easy off" your road place. All of them primarily are the same. Outside you can sit in the rocking chairs which are for sale. When you enter there is a large gift shop ranging from everything to clothes, collectables, food, games, toys, and even seasonal items. Once you make it to the hostess stand they greet you and in my case got seated right away. The staff is very friendly and during today's visit they had the turkey dinner on special. Works for me since that's one of my favorite meals when dining out. Breakfast is available all day for purchase. Got the food fairly quick. It came with biscuits and my choice of sides. Was very good. At each table they have the famous solitaire peg game. In the center of the restaurant is a cozy fireplace they use in cold weather and a checkerboard set-Cracker Barrel staples. These items are for sale in the gift shop. You pay on your way out so it is tempting to buy a thing or two sitting in the shelves below you but hey, that's the experience. This restaurant is located just off the West Virginia University exit in Morgantown, WV up a hill where there are some other restaurants and a shopping plaza. Cracker Barrel serves consistently good food, served well by a great wait staff. One of my go to places, for breakfast. I have had dinner there a few times, and it is also predictably good. When traveling to Florida, I always work a Cracker Barrel in there somewhere. read more

Went to Cracker Barrel here last week, I myself work at the one in Washington pa. The server we had was absolutely amazing her name was Kristi M. Got everything we asked for did everything how we wanted it. Me and my sister both got mimosas they were great! I got the county boy breakfast steak was cooked perfect, my sister got the mommas French toast which was amazing as well. I'm not a Cracker Barrel person. My fiancé loves it so we decided to get a quick meal. First thing said, there is no sign anywhere on the road that says turn here. Once you get there (if you can find it, gps doesn't work) you will be greeted by a super friendly staff who will welcome you warmly. The food is a step up from Denny's but the staff isn't as surly and rude as Denny's. Our server was was one on the nicest guys I've ever met. The only down part is I don't think they had a bus person that day and a woman in the kitchen kept screaming "clear your tables!" You'll find here the typical CB menu as well as the typical restaurant and merchandise store they have in any other CB. Too often they have someone being trained as server so I assume the rotation is high. They do maintain the normal service guidelines but they serve a large number of customer in 3 different huge rooms so you get the service but not the best. The food is good, not excellent and one thing that bothers me is the grease smell my clothes and hair get impregnated with when I eat there. Other than that they have the usual town folks and travelers that create the usual CB atmosphere. I am a local so I end up going there due the lack of good breakfast places in town. read more

It is always interesting when I read reviews and see the "warning" signs of poor service, etc. But being the diehard Cracker Barrel fan, I'm hungover from a wedding reception I crashed, and I'm hungry as hell, I decided I'm up for the challenge. It's Sunday morning and the place is packed. The gift shop is full of people browsing, we were welcomed with a "hi folks, c'mon in" as we came through the doors. Both the hostess and our server were both friendly, inviting, social and prompt. The water and Iced Tea came immediately (Aahhh...) and the food came about 10 minutes later. Food was good, not great, but met my expectations. I hate when people complain about mediocre food at places that serve mediocre food, and they know that going in. What a great little stop off on our trip from North Carolina to New York today. Everyone is friendly, and our waitress promptly took our order. Mickey is the best! We both ordered the Sunday special homestyle chicken. You can never go wrong with this, no matter which Cracker Barrel we go to from state to state this is always the best! We were driving from OH to D.C. And stopped in for breakfast to get out of the driving rain. I was surprised at the poor reviews I read as I sat at the table, because our experience was great. French toast was spot on! Good coffee and the cup never emptied. Our waitress Kristen did a great job and as I was getting ready to leave she asked if I wanted a "to go cup" to take a cup of coffee for the road. Nice. The store was clean and put together well, table service was great, food was good and the bathrooms were clean. Like another reviewer, we went to this place on our way from OH to DC. This is the only Cracker Barrel I've been to, but I've been here twice. The positives are: staff are friendly, food is relatively cheap, and the place has a positive vibe. The negatives are that it's hard to find something that I could classify as "healthy food" and that the food is just OK... Still quite a decent place to get something on the road.
