Country Fried Pickles
Victor S.

Overall, the food was very good. The pickles were prepared nicely. Service was very friendly and the ambience is casual as usual. The biscuits today were very good. The green beans on the other hand or lacking a little seasoning.

Went there for my youngest son's birthday, the host was very welcoming and friendly, making us feel right at home immediately. Our server, Michael, was fantastic! He was very kind to my kids, made sure everything was good and our glasses were always full. The food was delicious, but Michael and his co workers truly made my son's birthday special with their friendly attitude and smooth service, they sang "Happy Birthday " to my son.

Next stop on our mini road trip was none other than Cracker Barrel... ***LOCATION*** Right outside of Nashville, right off the interstate before we drove into the city. Ample parking as with any CB. ***EXPERIENCE*** We were immediately seated which was nice! I have previously waited 2 hours at other locations haha. Placed our order and it was out pretty quickly! ***STAFF*** Staff was friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed! ***FOOD/DRINKS*** First of all.. it was in Jan that I realized they now have mimosas at CB... love that. The strawberry one is my fave! I always get the veggie plate or chicken and dumplings now that I am eating some chicken, but still stick to primarily a vegetarian diet. Always a side of green beans and either okra, carrots or mashed potatoes. Everything was perfect at this location! ***PRICE*** It's Cracker Barrel... always great prices imo. A whole dinner for around 10$, yes! ***BATHROOMS*** Clean - all CB bathrooms look a little outdated to me but maybe that just goes with the aesthetic idk haha but they were clean and that is what is important :) ***CONCLUSION*** A solid Cracker Barrel to stop by if you're in the area :)

I picked my youngest up from school Friday at the beginning of Christmas break. He was out early due to a two hour day. When I picked him up he was complaining that he was hungry and asked if we could grab a quick bite. We decided on Cracker Barrel which is always a great treat. And as usual Micah went for their pancakes which he loves. I on the other hand wanted biscuits and gravy, eggs and hash brown casserole. Needless to say, it hit the spot for both of us. We love Cracker Barrel!

They got my order correct. Food was hot. Food was ready when promised. Greens were not as good as usual.

Got about 1/2 the number of fried shrimp than usual. The hash brown casserole was dry & pretty much tasteless .

The fried chicken is cooked to order so I went with the white meat option (breast and wing) and I added a thigh. For sides I selected the pinto beans, cabbage, and sweet potatoes along with a fountain drink. You may have to wait 15 minutes for the chicken...but the chicken Adrian serves up would make your Granny jealous. This was some of the best fried chicken I've had in a very long time, crispy skin that was not overly seasoned and the meat was tender and juicy. While the chicken was excellent, the sides were saying "you ain't tasted nothing yet"!!! Pinto beans had a great depth to the flavor with a rich sauce and tender beans. The sweet potatoes were not overly sweetened (like candied) and you could taste the sweet potato, slightly firm, and reminded me of Thanksgiving. I saved the best for last...the cabbage. Many times cabbage offered is just boiled, but Adrian adds some secret ingredients and it is awesome. So while the meat was excellent, the sides are created in true Southern tradition. Several homemade desserts were available...but I was stuffed. The location may be difficult to get into with traffic, but the food that awaits you is well worth it. Pay Adrian a visit and enjoy some good old home cooking right here in Murfreesboro.

Date of Visit: July 1, 2026…read more After driving all day the previous day we were wanting a real good county breakfast. My wife told me she had just the place in mind and I've been there before too (City Cafe). But when we arrived we saw they were permanently closed, dang. I could taste it. Then the wife recommended Puckett's and they are just around the the corner, a short walk. As we walked up on the place I noticed the marque, retro. The inside was bit as well. We were quickly seated and drink orders taken. This was a weekday morning visit so not too busy. Looking over the menu, I may not have looked close enough, I decided on the "Build your own Omelette". Onions, tomatoes and pepper jack cheese. The wife ordered the B&G. I noticed I wasn't asked about my side? I wounded potatoes. Also rye bread with my omelette, hmmm. Our food arrived, all looked good. I saw my order came with what looked like frozen type of potatoes, perfect squares. I was expecting something home cooked, fried potatoes with burnt edges. Flavor. The wife's B&G looked great, two basques and potatoes as well. The omelette was good, plenty of everything and filled. The wife said here B&G was really good and she's a B&G expert. Over all, all was good just disappointed with the potatoes option and no rye toast. Perhaps they could consider fresh cut potatoes along with the frozen type. Also maybe offer some type of toast. Give the place try if your on the square. Peace.

I got the BBQ pork platter and it was delicious, definitely the highlight of the night. The atmosphere was great too. They had live music going, which added a lot to the country vibe and made it a fun place to hang out. Service was okay, nothing bad, but I did have to ask for a refill once or twice. Overall, a good experience and I'd go back!

Date of Visit: July 2, 2026…read more On this afternoon my wife wanted to take me on a country drive after an overwhelming day in Murfreesboro the day before. Murfreesboro used be an easy navigable town, not no more, so many people. So off we went. Heading out towards Chapel Hill we came up the Fried Tater Cafe. After yesterday (if your following) I needed something authentic to the area and this looked the part. We both agreed to stop. Walked inside and I knew right away this going to be great. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere. Nice. Found a booth against the wall and were given menus and drink orders taken. Drinks came while still viewing the menu. I almost wanted a burger but chose the patty melt with coleslaw. I was going to have fries but they have those Checkers type fries. My wife had the BLT with Tots and after having a couple of her tots I should of had the tots. My wife even agrees, these are the best tots she has ever had and she has tots when ever offered. These had the crispy outside that you can bite into without crushing and fluffy innerds mmmmm. But getting back to my patty melt. The menu said it came with thousand island dressing. I would usually hold the TI, but now I'm in a phase where I order with no substitutions. So I took it with the Thousand island. And so glad I did, it did something to it. Don't know if everyone does this but wow. And the slaw was good too, though I wish I had gotten the tots, next time tots. The wife and I will be back here next time in town for sure, if just for the drive. Peace.

Sat down and Megan brought me a menu while sharing some of the "must haves" here. I ordered the Philly Sirloin steak sandwich (this is not a Philly cheesesteak for all you purists out there) and the Tater Tornado as an appetizer. The Tater Tornado gives you the best of both worlds...potato chips and french fries and they are really good. I sprinkled a little salt on em, dipped in ranch dressing, they are addicting!!! This steak sandwich is solid! The steak had some nice grill char, great flavor, and is very tender. The veggies caramelized while the smoked gouda cheese is a really nice touch. Even the "side" of cole slaw was very good, fresh, and crunchy. While I was eating Megan brought some fried pies to a table and they smelled incredible. So I ordered a blueberry one to go and suffered in my SUV the whole way home smelling it. These pies alone are worth the drive out here...absolutely delicious! Without a doubt the best homemade blueberry fried pie I've ever enjoyed. Really great food, nice serene country setting, and friendly service. Well worth the drive out to Rockvale!!!
