The new fried turkey platter had 2 large perfectly fried turkey breasts that were smothered in gravy and were so tender and moist on the inside, yet crispy on the outside. And the Mac and cheese was so cheesy and satisfying. And it even came with cranberry sauce. Perfect! We also had the Southern fried chicken and the biscuits were oh so fluffy and buttery. And everyone was so friendly and attentive. And their ambiance was cozy with their actual massive wood fired fireplace and hearth. It warmed my soul! This is my second time going to Cracker Barrel and both times were at this location. Overall, my experience has been great and the service has been prompt and no complaints here. Overall I love all of the options that provide for both breakfast and lunch. It really caters to a lot of people and I personally like that I can get a little bit of both. This time we ordered a couple of appetizers: fried pickles and beignets. I love pickles but the ones here were not worth ordering again. The breading almost tasted a little bitter, like the oil was older. I also got the country fried steak which they ran out of gravy so I opted to use the "gravy" from my dumplings dish. We also got the fried chicken which wasn't too bad. The highlight of my meal was the side of French toast, which was nice, fluffy and perfectly sweet and the BISCUITS!! Went here to eat on a Saturday night. Didn't know they switched the night for chicken and rice until we saw it on the menu. Tried to order the chicken and dumplings but they told me they were all out of the dumplings so I had to choose something else. Waited about 35-40 minutes for our food. They also said they were all out of biscuits and had to check on the cornbread, then we saw another table who came after us get cornbread before our waitress came back with some. The service has gone down and wait time has gone up. Not sure if they are short staffed or what but this is the second time we've ate at this location, in Shrewsbury, PA and experienced similar service issues. Not sure if we will return to this location. They used to be really good, seems like before the pandemic. Also, another table close to us were talking and laughing really loud. Olivia was our waitress and she was horrible. She was obviously unhappy to be there. We waited a long time to be acknowledged, as well as a long time for our drinks and our cups sat empty without being asked about refills. The food itself was delicious and we had zero complaints about that. We waited an excessively long time for the check so we ended up leaving the table and asking the cashier about our bill. The cashier WAS INCREDIBLE. She was very kind and kept apologizing. She called the gentleman manager over and we explained the poor service and lack of check and he did not even offer an apology. Ate there for dinner and I had the usual, rainbow trout with sides. I also enjoyed a peach tea but fair warning it's really sweet! We never have any room for dessert but that's ok. So, it's a Cracker Barrel and they basically all look the same and the store has fun little knickknacks to look at. We had no wait for our table on a Thursday evening. The waitress was pretty friendly and brought things out in a fairly prompt fashion. The kids ordered milk and we usually are only given one carton (which is never enough) but she brought out 2 small cartons per kid which was nice and they drank all of it. She only brought out 4 biscuits (so one per person) and then never brought out more or asked us if we wanted more. I finally was able to flag her down and ask for more and she brought 2 ‍ Then I had to flag her down again and ask for more jelly too. But I will say those 2 biscuits were piping hot and fresh out of the oven. I like that you can scan the receipt and pay on your phone, instead of waiting to pay out front in the store. On a side note, the page says "lots of vegetarian options" but the only option is to order sides and some of the vegetable sides have meat in them. All main meals have meat but I do eat fish so if you're pescatarian you'll be fine. I did note that in the menu in mentioned a vegan sausage if you decide to order a breakfast meal so I'll have to try that sometime. read more

I was just here with a couple of friends to enjoy a nice dinner and this is where the fun began... It was after we were seated and placed our orders that the wait began. You'd think to expect a 10-20 minute wait after ordering for your food to arrive (I would consider this a reasonable wait time). It wasn't until an hour and 20 minutes after ordering that we inform our server if we could just get our orders to go. She promptly turned around and walked away. Another 10 minutes later, she returns to say that the order never went in. When she came back to inform us of this my friend politely told her to just forget it and she said "don't worry about any of this you guys, it's on the house" and then waved her hand over three ice waters. So at least our waters were comped!! Now that it took this long to NOT order food, everywhere else around us was closing or already closed. Pancakes were burned, bacon undercooked, fries were reheated by being cooked again in the fryer - gross. But the food was not spoiled and it was hot. So it's edible. Tables not bussed at all, doesn't seem like the 2 or 3 waitresses I saw had any help. Maybe the generational staffing is an issue. I don't think it's a good time for anyone to own a large restaurant. I have never been to a Cracker Barrel but have been wanting to try one forever. I have heard many things about their gift shop so that was my #1 reason for going there. I was with family and we wanted a down home country lunch so Cracker Barrel was the right choice. We only had to wait a few minutes for a table. We got seated and our waitress came by right away to take drink orders. She was very friendly and attentive. I had a special they were advertising. It was a chicken pot pie but actually it was more of a biscuit with pot pie filling. It was very tasty though. I also loved the biscuits and corn bread they brought to the table. Yum! I have been to this restaurant 3-4 times over the last two years. The service has never been good, we have gone entire meals with no drink refills. The food is horrendous-it's always bland and very salty. The French toast tastes like cardboard. One time my husband and I went in for lunch, there was an elderly couple at the table behind ours, next to the windows. They brought their small dog inside the restaurant with them and put it on one of the dining chairs at their table. Stopped here after most in the party had been traveling for 22 hours. Greeted by ambivalent hostess. Seated at dirty table. I flagged over another hostess who wiped some of the table and walked away quickly. We used napkins to brush off the obvious food left there. Our server took our order but did not know if the meatloaf had pork so she went to ask. Several minutes later we were told it did have pork in it, but she should have known that. Wait, wait, wait at least 45 minutes. We flagged down the server and asked her when food will come. We were told soon. A minute later my daughter realized she had not been asked how she wanted her steak cooked. We flagged down the server and specified medium/rare. Several minutes later the food came but we had no utensils. She told us they were still being washed ????? Also, the kids meal of chicken came with burnt grilled chicken tenders. We inquired and asked about normal breaded chicken tenders. She said sorry I assumed these. We did not know there were two kinds and she had never asked. Utensils came several minutes later when food was almost cooled. Broccoli was much too salty. The steak was more than half inedible gristle. Country fried steak was too salty and gravy was coagulated and cold with ham in it instead of sausage. There was a man at the table behind us and we heard him speaking to his server that the replacement serving (second try) of his steak was not satisfactory either. After a while we called the Manager over and spoke of some of these issues. He apologized and took some off the bill, but it was the worst visit to a Cracker Barrel any of us ever experienced. Let me start by saying our server, Ashley G., was incredible. She single-handedly added a star to this review. She was incredibly nice and truly cared about our experience. However, our food was very disappointing. Half of my order was cold, and the other half was lukewarm. One of my sides didn't make it out with the rest of the order (which our server was very quick to apologize for and correct, so props for that). In addition, the food tasted like it was microwaved. Nothing we had felt fresh (with the exception of one of our sides of Hashbrown Casserole) and tasted like it had been bought at Walmart and thrown in the microwave. The store itself was poorly cleaned and was not inviting. The floors were sticking to the bottom of my shoes with every step. I cannot stress that this was an incredibly disappointing dining experience, and seriously damaged our perceptions of a Cracker Barrel as a whole, with the exception of our server, who may very well be the single reason I eat at Cracker Barrel ever again. read more

I lived near this location about 10 years ago and always loved it. Went today to get my favorite breakfast French Toast! Asked for the bacon extra crispy which should be an easy thing to do, but half was almost raw, the other half was perfectly crispy. I also asked for my powdered sugar for my French Toast on the side, but not only wAs it not on the side but on the toast and so much it was sickening sweet and inedible. It felt like the com had an issue with me since I asked for extra crispy bacon. Worst breakfast ever!!
