For such a busy weekend spot, they always manage to seat fairly quickly. I've never been here and received bad service, so that's always been a win. On 05/04/2026 at the York, PA location off of Route 30, I placed a take-out order (check#45404) at the bar (1) full rack ribs and (1) BC Wrapper. The restaurant was fairly busy for a Monday at 1:15PM, so to my surprise my order came out pretty quickly. My order was bagged and tied together, so I cloud not check my order without ripping the entire plastic bag. There were two standard to-go containers inside the bag, NOT the standard long full-length container a full rack is served in when placing a to-go order. I order the full rack of ribs to-go all the time at Cheddars, and they are served in the long full-rack box. When I got home and to my surprise I was given two separate rib halves. Neither were the same size, (both were upper ends), not an entire complete rack of ribs. Looking at the ribs, each upper end was different in size, and each had a different appearance and texture. I tasted each half-rack, and yes hey came from different racks as each had a different taste, dried-out texture, and not even luke-warm to the touch. These ribs were not freshly made that day. I'm positive these rib halves were old ribs, at least a day or more old, and somewhat reheated, barely. I live 2-miles from Cheddar's, I's a straight shot, 5-minute drive at best. The food should not be cold driving that distance. I used to go to Cheddar's all the time, but quit going there about six-plus months ago because the food quality was going downhill, but decided to give it another try, I WAS WRONG... The BC Wrappers were editable, barely warm, but just thrown together, not neatly wrapped and fell apart trying to get one out of the box. In-total I wasted $37.00 on this meal at Cheddar's in York, PA. The ribs were thrown away, and the BC Wrapper was half-eaten. The service was pretty decent considering how busy they were at 1pm on a Saturday, but there were definitely gaps, and the table next to us clearly wasn't happy about it either. But, aside from that, and a pretty awesome croissant and Caesar salad, my steak was horrible. I mean, 6oz, and almost none of it was edible. Terrible cut. There was so much gristle and fat that I couldn't even cut it off because it was basically all there was, and it was medium well, not medium rare. I was "afraid" to take any bites of it. The garlic butter and steak seasoning tasted great, which made the texture's shortcomings all the more disappointing. The loaded baked potato was alright, but something about it wasn't quite my favorite, possibly the butter, which tasted cheap. Stopped in for an early dinner with my daughter after a doctors appointment. The honey butter croissants given to you when you sit down are very good. My daughter got the chicken tenders and fries. She loved her fries but the chicken tenders were just ok. I got a cup of the baked potato soup and new orleans pasta with extra shrimp. The soup was very tasteless, the pasta was good but could have used more seasoning and the extra $4 dollars for the 2 or 3 little extra shrimp wasn't worth it. What went well, what goes well, everything! We first visited this Cheddar's location about a year ago. The food is always consistently delicious. The salads are fresh. The dressings are made in-house and have a great flavor. The service, even at the busiest hours of the day, is second to none. The servers have always been pleasant, professional, and have an in-depth knowledge of the product they are serving. It can be a bit noisy at times. This is after all a family restaurant. We had a very large group so it took 45 min to get our tables even with a reservation (a lot of large groups were there for the weekend event). I got the Texas Sweet Tea and the Key West Chicken & Shrimp with a side of broccoli cheese casserole and fries. The Texas sweet tea was great, and not overall sweet which I liked. My partner got the painkiller and it was good, but on the sweeter side. The Key West Chicken & Shrimp was great. Cooked and flavored well. It's also so well priced here (I'm used to big city prices). We tried going here on a Friday night, hour wait so skipped it. We tried a few weeks later on a Saturday night and it was a 20 minute wait (turned out to be less than 10). That's a plus. They brought out croissants which they switched out for ones without the honey butter, no problem. Another plus. We ordered the chicken pot pie, tenders and fries, pork chops, and homemade onion rings. Entrees came out within 15 minutes of appetizer, perfect timing. Probably 2nd best pot pie we've ever had. Pork chops were well portioned, no complaints, same with tenders. Onion rings make outback seem like a joke. And best of all our bill was $50. Are you serious? Sooooo upon entering the restaurant we are taken to a table to be seated. The server comes over and starts scolding the host right in front of us and we go back to the lobby to sit down. Cheddars 11-8-24 Stopped by Cheddars on Friday night about 6:15pm. This is my first time at this place and it's neat, clean, and very well laid out. Our main orders came out about the time we were done with our salads. My Steak looked amazing, and it was done just perfectly but my mashed Potatoes were ice cold. (for the life of me I don't know how you mess up a side like that) My wife's Salamon was hot and very good but her baked potato was cold in the center. Everything was amazing. Host's, waitress, cooks. Hands down we couldn't figure out what we appreciated more, the amazing food or the friendly hospitality from the staff. I unfortunately don't recall the waitress's name who served us, but she was impeccable. We told her about how where we are from, no one would give us the time of day to have a pleasant conversation about the food and the area and over just in general. We have definitely discussed coming back for an overnight trip just to have a getaway to hang out, grab a bite to eat and not be so far from home. My jaw dropped when I noticed the center fan as you walked in, the entire place just gives off nothing but good vibes. The outside was insanely clean and tidy, just as much as the inside!! Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is a restaurant that serves delicious food with a pleasant atmosphere. Their menu offers a variety of options like smokehouse burgers; chicken tenders, broccoli and cheese casserole and their famous croissants drizzled with honey butter. The croissants themselves are over the top and very orgasmic. I could have just eaten these as my whole meal plus dessert. The staff provided prompt service and ensured a comfortable dining experience for us. The restaurant is spacious and clean, the food is awesome. and the service is fabulous. Service that was provided was great. The food didn't take long to come out. If I'm going to be honest, the steak looked cheap and tasted mid as can be. For a sirloin, it was fatty and I personally don't like fatty steaks. The chicken tenders were Immaculate crunchy and crispy.
