Cracker Barrel (CB) Feb 25, 2026; Arrived at CB at 12:55 pm, Party of two. Busy, Busy , Busy Restaurant as the waiting lines were long! Our Host, Jesse checked us in and advised us a 20 minute wait was probable. No problem! Jesse was a ball of "Fire, Hustle, Multi-Tasking and Friendly Smiles! Great Customer Service and he gets a 5 Star rating! We were seated within ten minutes! Aldo, our waiter, came by promptly and took our order. The service was quick and the food was very good! Aldo also gets a 5 Star Rating! Everything was great, in spite of the many Customers! We went to pay! That is where things got interesting! There were two lines to pay with two Cashiers. I got in the line on the right and waited and waited! The guy in front of me had been waiting a long time and was visibly annoyed. My wife was busy "Window" shopping so problem. Three people in line on the right and one Customer at the register. That's when the elderly Cashier ""Gruffly and Rudely told us that there was only one line and for us to move over to the other line on our left. Wow! How Rude! There were no "Arrows" or signs that said "One line only"! I think we HAD to know or read that Cashier's mind to find out the CB Rule! We all agreed that the Cashier was extremely Rude! My wife paid the Rude Cashier but being the Christian that she is she treated the Elderly Cashier with much kindness and understanding. Perhaps Cracker Barrel should post their "unknown" rules where Customers can read them. And re-train the Cashier on how to talk to Customers! Wow! PS: I did not mention the Cashier's name and will not! My qualifications as an Expert and Experienced Food and Service Critic; I have over 65 years of Management Experience. I went from picking Cotten, Fruits and Vegetables in many parts of the country, as a Migrant Worker to earning a College Degree with a BS in Business Management. Plus Serving my Country in the Air Force for over 22 years. As a Civilian I have been trained in two Culinary Schools, to include on the job training at other venues. I've successfully managed full service as well as fast food restaurants and have had my own successful Catering business. I have traveled to many places and tasted the many culinary delicacies this world has to offer! As a Culinary Trainer, I have trained personnel on how to provide superb cuisine, sales and customer service. Had the worst experience at this location, and even the manager was very unhelpful. First, we were seated at the most wobbly table imaginable. It moved more than a boat. Anytime we leaned on it, it would sway to the side, which is not exactly a pleasant experience when trying to eat. We tried to notify our server, but they were nowhere to be found for about 15 minutes. When we finally told them about the table, they sent a guy to check it, and even he seemed surprised by how wobbly it was. After that, nothing happened. We then waited another 10 minutes before our server showed up again, and by that point, we still had no drinks and had not even placed our order. Later, we needed ketchup and napkins, but again, it took another 15 minutes for our server to come back. On top of that, the hostess was extremely rude and had a noticeable attitude. The manager eventually came by, but all she really said was that they were busy, and that was pretty much it. She left and was probably the least helpful of everyone. This was probably the worst restaurant experience I have had. We were deciding between coming here or going to Hopdoddy, and we figured Cracker Barrel is usually a good choice. Next time, we will not even hesitate to go to Hopdoddys instead. This happened at around 12:30 pm on Sunday March 29th. They are on top of it! Friendly, courteous, prompt and get it right! I needed to try Cracker Barrel as from California. We have very few and none are located near me.. the height had me visiting when I saw the logo, the original logo that caused all the drama!!! the store was charming lots of things to look at and if you like candy this was the place to be. Cute little outfits for toddlers and Texas homestyle where for women and men. You have to pass through the little shop in order to get to the restaurant.. genius marketing! I had a 10 to 15 minute wait and so I had to browse the store. Because I'm traveling I did not purchase anything, but if I had more space in my luggage, I probably would've bought a few things.. I was seated after a short a while while and the server was right there at my table with coffee and water., took my order, which was a standard breakfast, though I can't remember the name. Scrambled eggs, bacon, and of course the biscuits and gravy.. this server came out and told me the best bits and gravy would be out a little later than my meal because they were being baked in the oven. I loved how he said that I would get them fresh out of the oven as a way to take me away from" delay" of my order. He used the right words to turn it around. I was finally on the side of town that had a Cracker Barrel - a hometown staple in NC - so we popped in to place a takeout order. While placing the order didn't take very long, it took a bit of time for the food to be prepared and there were multiple issues. I ordered a catfish dinner with 3 sides, but the turnip greens were missing (even though it was printed on the receipt). My youngest ordered a grilled cheese meal with lemonade but that's not what was printed on our ticket. I flagged that when I was paying for the order and they radioed into the kitchen to have them correct it. However, we still received Mac n cheese and an apple juice. My eldest daughter's order was the only one without issues. Also, they dont give you biscuits and corn muffins unless you specifically ask for them (even though it states on the menu it comes with the dinner plates and they didn't bother to ask or tell me). It took 45min for us to get our order. By the time we got home, food had to be warmed up but it was more disappointing that it lacked flavor/seasonings. The catfish lacked salt and pepper. The hash brown casserole was crunchy/hard and also needed salt and pepper. The okra was standard but benefited from seasonings too. That said, the turnip greens were delicious! The saucy chicken (with Nashville hot) was very spicy but the kid liked it. The grilled cheese was just that. A sandwich. No sides or anything. WORST service EVER at this 151/410 location. Made the mistake of having Father's Day breakfast here. Started with the fact that they by passed us to seat us. We had a party of 5. After 30 minutes and noticing a party of 8 seated before us. The two girls up front blamed one another for the mishap. Finally got seated. Our waitress brought us the coffee and spilled hot coffee on my arm, table and my husband's white tennis shoes. The worst part was, she didn't even acknowledge it. Not one apology. After we pointed out the coffee mess on the table and spilled coffee on his shoes and my arm. She didn't even clean the mess on the table or bring extra napkins. I used the wipes I had. She brought the coffees without creamers. After the second request, I asked a manager if he could get us creamers. Mentioned the coffee spill and he ignored it and Instead of doing it himself, he stated that he'd find out what the problem was. Another 5 minute wait on creamers for the now cold coffee. She brought out orders out. No condiments as we had previously requested. She forgot the ketchup. We had to wait 5 minutes more for the syrup on the now cold pancakes and our has browns finally came after our meal. After, I asked why she didn't bring the syrup with pancakes or creamers with coffee. That our food was cold. She chose to blame the kitchen staff. This establishment has no customer service. Only one of the pancakes was stuffed, the other was simply folded over. But the one that was stuffed, the filling was really good and sweet. The strawberries tasted fresh. My plate also came with eggs and bacon. I order my eggs scrambled, they came out cooked on the outside but goopy on the inside. Things have changed at Cracker Barrel -- and not for the better. It's OK that the portions are now a lot smaller because on this visit, the food was not good. The service was pretty good but everything else seems to have gone down hill. I ordered the grilled chicken. It was not tasty at all and the sides were not either. Even the tea left much to be desired. I was there with my husband and daughter and it was clear that they were sorry I chose this restaurant. Even the shopping area out front with candy and other various items seems to have changed. None of the candy selections are ones from my childhood anymore. So after the problems I had before, I was looking forward to my Turkey Dinner when it was not under the pressure of Thanksgiving. I enjoy a nice turkey dinner every couple of months and it's getting harder to find. Cracker Barrel has it only on Thursday for a lunch plate or dinner. Thank you so much for having that. Now unfortunately they again shorted me a side. The sweet potato casserole and didn't tell me when delivered to my car. But it does look like they made the decision to give me more stuffing which was nice but you had my number and email. I would have preferred a call or message to let me pick. I called and they said they ran out. They are always very nice and offered to refund my meal. But I'm not doing that for missing one side. I also got one of the 5 dollar take homes...it was the stuffed strawberries French toast. No instructions for reheating so I microwaved 60 seconds a time till the toast was warmer. Not a success but maybe my fault. The toast just got hard, even the filling while not really warm was stiff. I warmed the strawberrie, they give you a lot of them for 60 seconds to almost room temperature and left the sauce cold. It has the potential to be really great. The strawberries and sauce were fantastic but the toast stale tasting and hard to cut. I think if you get this eat it that meal as dessert might work better. But like I said it might be my fault it was stale tasting. Now my turkey dinner was very tasty, really hit the spot and was a great value on top of that. Photos this time. We waited 40 minutes for our food only to find my parents' ny steaks overcooked (we ordered then medium rare, they were well done), my smoky southern chicken was dry, mac and cheese cold... the only good things were the loaded baked sweet potatoes and breakfast plates my siblings ordered but you can't go wrong with pancakes I suppose. .. even the biscuits and corn bread was cold and dry, tasteless. Went here with my girlfriend and got told there was a 10 minute wait despite there being probably 20+ open tables. The hostess noticeably did not enjoy her job and didn't want to be at work. When we finally got a table, we waited over 20 minutes for a waiter to come by and take our order. About another 20 minutes go by and we finally get our food, but one of the sides was missing. Just left this location and will not return. The host started by telling us there was a wait due to the restaurant getting busy. We (3 adults, 3 kids) waited a short time before being seated, about 10 minutes. When our table was ready, we were told that our party would be seated at 2 separate tables. This wasn't a big issue, as the tables were next to each other. The kids ordered a starter. After 30 or so minutes, we asked about it, and the server said she would check on it. About 5 minutes later, she came back and said they were still working on the appetizer, but our food would be out shortly. The appetizer was finally brought out, and we asked how long until the food came out. The server said it would be just a moment. She explained that most of the food was ready, but they were waiting to bring it out together. We told her we didn't care about that and would prefer the food be brought out as it was ready. When the food finally arrived, some of it was cold, some was overcooked, and some plates were missing items. During our whole experience, our waitress, Sidney L., repeatedly responded with "I got you" anytime we brought up an issue or asked a question. I understand it's a common phrase, but the tone came across as dismissive and unprofessional, especially given the problems we were already having. When our issues were addressed, she never asked if we'd like to speak with a manager. When we paid, the issue was addressed again, and the cashier asked if we'd like to speak with a manager, to which I replied yes. He called the manager multiple times while discounting my bill. After he gave me the total and the manager still hadn't shown up, he asked if I'd still like to speak with the manager. I am very disappointed. I ordered the country boy's breakfast and got the country toddler's seven piece meal. I included my receipt so you can see this wasn't a cheap meal. This must be a bad dream because the cracker barrel has never let me down, but on this day, I would like my money back. The eggs have some kind of watery liquid under them. The tips were not done so the way. At least the apples are good. My stomach is still growling from hunger, and this food does not hit the spot. I threw away most of the food, and it pains me because money is tight. Uber Eats is expensive, and I don't have a car right now because my transmission is shot. Our waitress Jessica was awesome. We had ordered a well done burger which was not well done. Sent it back and they made another one correctly the second time around. Jessica checked up on us to make sure we were good. Overall the food was great along with great customer service. The gentleman,(host) was also nice and friendly. Our food was brought out by Tanya, when we told her "Thank You" she just ignored us. She even asked us if we needed anything else and when I started telling her what we needed she ended up telling me "I'll let your waitress know" and walked away. So either she was upset she brought our food even though we were not her table or who knows. But she was quick to be telling her tables "you're welcome". We got seated down and a server got our order in and everything, but it took us an hour to realize where did our server go so we were looking around finally got the attention of one of the workers and then told them the situation and the manager came to us and said that your server left, but the food will be on us in which I was really happy because come on it took a whole hour of just realizing where is our server and no one didn't even at least talk to us, but I'm happy that a worker actually saw us and we told them everything and the food was free so I really do recommend this place even though we had a bad experience at the beginning of it. Once seated our waiter was rushing things and rude. She seemed overwhelmed and stretched to thin. It took forever for our food orders to come out. We saw people at near by tables that arrived after us get there food before us. Lastly the food was sub par. The food was bland and nothing special. My daughter and her husband ordered breakfast plates with steak on them and both orders the steaks were very under cooked. So undercooked they did not eat them. Good I'll Cracker Barrel! There are 7 things I like about this restaurant which we regularly visit. 1. Consistency. You know what they offer on the menu and it's served well each time. 2. Service. We've always had courteous, personable and thorough waiters/waitresses. This last time, Cassandra was our waitress and she was top notch. That girl was working! 3. Good home style food. We can eat their biscuits and green beans for days. 4. The country store up front. Yes it's in Your face marketing, but it's a great time killer if there's a wait, and thee are some distinctive old fashioned goods you're unlikely to find elsewhere. 5. Decor. What the heck is that contraption over there in the wall?! And signs and old times advertisements. You just don't see this stuff any more except on American Pickers history channel. 6. the rocking chairs outside. Granted most folks here are nice old timers willing to strike up a cordial conversation. However, once we were seated, we were served by the nicest lady who was in over her head. But she was polite and did her best. The pancakes were a little dry but the hashbrowns and the sausage were also delicious. I will say I wish they had a kid free section. Not everyone wants to sit around kids. Today, though, I ordered a Campfire Shrimp and Sausage lunch, and was told it wouldn't be ready for an hour. It was 11 o'clock, so I expected all lunches to be available. We love Cracker Barrel, it's our go to place to eat. However this location you're better off going to a different location or another place. It's currently 8PM we ordered our food at 7PM....there is literally only 8 tables with small families no more than 4 people per table. Unless you want to wait an hour do NOT go here. To top it off, we waited an hour just to be told they're out of the food we ordered. Wasted our time. This location needs serious attention or shut it down. We requested the manager and they didn't even have the audacity to come and speak to us. Left us sitting there like idiots. Got up and walked out. Absolutely ridiculous. read more
