Feeling a little road trip nostalgia after spending the day in Sanford, we decided to stop at Cracker Barrel for some good old southern "home cooking." It had been years, and I was genuinely excited. Unfortunately, that excitement faded pretty quickly. It was freezing inside, and that's coming from two Floridians who appreciate strong AC. The service started off rough. Our first server seemed irritated from the beginning. Somehow even asking about the soup of the day that was listed on the menu felt like an inconvenience. The whole vibe felt tense. Ordering took forever (to the point we were questioning if they realized we were there), and the food took just as long to come out. My sister was so excited for the hashbrown casserole that she ordered a double portion, which made it even more disappointing when everything came out bland. Truly bland, to the point that neither of us could finish our meals. I was honestly so thrown off by the server's attitude that I forgot to ask for a corn muffin instead of a biscuit, although she did not ask either (which is typical). The only reason this is not a 1-star review is because our server was unexpectedly switched out after we ordered, and the second one was a total night and day difference. The gift shop staff were also beyond sweet and helpful, and the store itself is still fun to browse. They have such a unique selection of treats you do not usually see. I could not resist trying the bubble gum soda and loading up on candy. Everything you would expect from this huge chain. Friendly service and good country eats. Love the grilled catfish. Their tartar sauce is literally my favorite! Hash brown casserole was delicious. In the five years I've lived in this area, I've eaten here many times both inside the restaurant, and placing orders via the app and picking up. I can honestly say it is the most consistent Cracker Barrel I've ever lived near. I've had too many things off the menu to even begin to name, and everything g is always so good. From breakfast to lunch to dinner. I've also been here quite a few times with a group of 10+ of us and they handle the service for big parties very well too. If you've never had their hash brown casserole, you're missing out! My favorite days are Thursdays - turkey and dressing! Yummy!! Grab a $6 dinner to take home and heat up for later. Haven't been to this one in some time. - this place needs a refresh. an 80 score on LifeKitchen (very low really) plus really run down bathrooms (long term "ick", grout...walls, broken tiles etc) and such make this place iffy to me. -server was new. Not ready. His trainer left him a couple times, he's clueless. Neither my wife nor I could hear him he was speaking so quietly. Asked him to speak up..nah..same whisper/mumble. Another example, asked for some coffee (wasn't offered)...he poured and my wife's was empty and he walked away. Guess not saying "for her too" threw him off -food was good (C) but the cinnamon rolls were either waaay overdone, or what seemed more likely...reheated. Dry, dark brown, not sticky gooey like normal literally needed a slug of coffee to wash them down. -SHRINKFLATION. The portion of hashbrown casserole was half a deck of cards. Even the bisquits were NOTICABLY smaller. What's odd is that another location very recently in NC had NOTICEABLE serving size differences. AND ...if the manager walks by you 4-5 times (it seems maybe the GM or someone was doing paperwork in the corner) think of how fun it would be if he smiled or even said hey. No interest at all. three times now in a row, we have eaten at this particular Cracker Barrel for breakfastand it was a disaster. First of all the coffee is so weak. I swear I believe they're only putting about half or 2/3 of the grounds in the pot to brew. So that can be overlooked when my food got both mine and my wife's hashbrowns were so cold. I'm not sure if they just left them under the heater for the last hour and the heater is only 1/2 on. Over easy eggs were hard. My wife's over medium eggs were hard. My sausage tasted like cardboard with no seasoning which they forgot to put on plate in the beginning three times as a charm Cracker Barrel we won't be back. read more

I stopped here to meet with a client for a breakfast meeting. I arrived a bit early and had a few minutes to wander the store part, but only a few minutes as my client also arrived early. I've eaten at this Cracker Barrel quite a few times. We have always had a great experience here. It has always been clean and the wait staff has always been very polite and quick to serve us. Today I tried the Biscuit Benny with sausage and it was delicious. The biscuits were great as always and so were my sides of cinnamon apples and has brown casserole. We also had the biscuit beignets which were really good as well. I could eat brunch here almost every week. Worst visit in 25 years going to Cracker Barrel. This was my first time going to this location. They were out of most drinks due to a water issue. I ordered Diet Coke and it was flat. The server said they were out of the following. It was only 6pm. Pot Pie Pot Roast Meat Loaf I ordered fried chicken, since they were out of so many things. It was extremely overcooked. I have been eating at Cracker Barrel Restaurants for over 40 years, but in the past 2-3 years, the service and food quality has declined and is getting worse with every visit. At the same time, the prices are on a steep increase, which makes the experience even worse. I never paid attention to company policy or even looked at their website EVER. All that mattered was the dining experience and quality food, regardless of which locating I travelled to. When the logo was announced as a change to the restaurant, I investigated to find the CEO had lost her mind. Who spends 700 Million on a WOKE makeover, when your market cap is only 1.2 Billion? They have lost my business forever, switching back to the old logo costs nothing! Only a few signs were changed, not the majority of them...and the WOKE culture has just been taken off of the website. It is still entrenched deeply in the heart of the corporation. I have not been to Cracker Barrel in years and while it has not changed much it has changed A LOT, in a great way! Same amazing food, same great prices but much larger overwhelming portions. We literally had enough leftovers for a whole other meal. So many amazing additions to the menu since I left went including mimosas, YES MIMOSAS!! As always, everyone was extremely nice and overly accommodating. The restaurant itself was so warm, cozy and inviting. The gift shop loaded with cute finds and yummy treats. Food soo good every single thing I originally wanted when I came in was sold out.... I'm a big boy, so I asked to speak with the Manager to see if he had any kind of recommendation that would actually be filling for me. When I mentioned that I what I wanted was sold out and an hour later I still couldn't figure something out because I was hungry, he offered to actually make the Southern Fried Chicken fresh for me if I had the time. Now THAT is first class service, don't get me wrong, my server Salvannah was definitely at the top of her game too, only had to flag her one time because she was dealing with a situation in the back for another table. I have to say that this was most definitely one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Had an amazing breakfast at my local Cracker Barrel. Service was outstanding! Anna B. took great care of us! She was attentive, very nice and professional. The food was delicious. We didn't wait long for the food and it was hot. The New Bee Sting Chicken Tenders stole the show. The sauce was so good with a little kick. Also never had the hash brown casserole tator tots. In my opinion, this place has the best breakfasts around. Moreover the prices and portions are both reasonable. My only complaint is trying to pay the check. The line at the cash register tends to move very slowly. Most often there is only one cashier. In my experience, other employees keep distracting the cashier with questions, then the cashier also has to ask every customer if the have a account, then the customer has to enter their phone number, then the cashier has to ask if they want o use any accumulated pegs. All this slows the check paying process. When I am fifth in line, my frustration level reaches the point that I no longer remember the good points of dining here. read more

Personally I was not a fan of the Southern Fried Chicken. If you're all about dark meat then it may be for you, but their boneless options are all white meat and I by far prefer those. I used to adore this place but unfortunately it ranks just below IHOP now They have changed their menu and canceled the things thar made them unique. 1st of all the frozen apple cider mug....eggs in a basket. I am disappointed. I had ther biscuits and gravy anf the gravy tasted commercially made. The only thing they still have is the maple syrup which is not 100 percent. They have combination platters that are about 11 to 12 a person that will fill you up. They may still have the fish fry Fri But I am not sure because they have changed so much. read more
