Cracker Barrel has STEPPED UP over the last year or so, but IMO they've always been top notch in service. Their selection has widened greatly and I love having so many options. We stopped by this location (hidden back behind a few hotels and a little tricky to get to) before an outlet shopping trip (right across the street.) It was a bit earlier than the dinner time rush (thankfully) so we were sat immediately. We were with Shay and she took great care of us. She made suggestions and patiently explained different sales and promotions going on. She also TOTALY PULLED MY LEG and MADE me get a banana pudding dessert (; (ok maybe she just suggested it and I gladly obliged) either way- not disappointed. My mom and I both got a 'meal deal' of sorts which allowed us to pick our main dish and two sides in addition to the classic corn bread and biscuit appetizer. We were filllllled to the brim and rolled out of there happy. Thank God for the following shopping trip otherwise we would have been feeling plump for a good while. Cracker Barrel is usually on point, USUALLY being KEY WORD here. I'm giving g them a 2 because David, our server was great. For starters, the lemonade machine was out of service and they were only serving fountain drinks and tea. My husband's chicken was overly cooked and the batter was way too crispy. My mother in law found a piece of plastic inside her green beans that could have easily needed up in my six year old's plate instead. I know accidents happen but, careless mistakes can actually harm innocent kids. We were less than happy with our experience during our visit and I'm sure we will not be returning any time soon. read more

Cracker Barrel used to be our go to place but over the last year the food has been very inconsistent. One time it is great and the next few it is awful. Today was one of the awful days. My wife ordered one pecan pancake with a side of grits and hashbrown casserole. The one pancake was much smaller than normal, smaller than a side plate and was almost $5 I ordered mommas pancakes and asked for my eggs over easy and bacon crisp. The eggs came out hard and the bacon soft. They remade them and the bacon was way over cooked and the eggs were now poached and absolutely terrible. To boot the waitress never came back. To top it off, when we checked out the manager asked us how our food was so I told him about my eggs. He just looked at me and did not say a word, not even an apology. Why ask the question if you do not care to hear the response. Very disappointed. read more

Man did the sides get smaller- im talking like a few bites of mac n cheese, a baby handful of fries and okra, and a spoonful of hash brown casserole. Pretty disappointed to say the least. We ordered the Sundays fried chicken dish with 3 sides knowing we wanted leftovers. That didn't happen. The chicken used to be huge and now the 2 slices are smaller then your hand. We also ordered a burger and specifically told him no pink at all. I cut it open and it's still moo'ing at me. Not my servers fault. He took it back and I waited 10 mins for another. By then the rest of the food we had ordered was gone. Which I will also add was cold when was brought to our table. I almost told him to just forget the burger but I didn't want to be that person. So I cut it open and honestly was disgusting. (And was the only hot plate outta our whole meal) had 2 bites of it and asked for a to go box hoping my kid will eat it tmrw. This is a consistently good Cracker Barrel. Our family meets here for breakfast or lunch a couple of times a year, for many years, and we have never been disappointed. Yesterday's service was no exception. We arrived at lunchtime and were greeted and seated promptly. The food took a bit longer to come out but the waitress was on her toes and continued to check both on the food and us. My parents both had Reubens, which they said were delicious. My son and I ate breakfast which was very good. As usual, the biscuits were soft, the gravy & grits were creamy & smooth, and the hash brown casserole was just flat out delish. The only odd thing was that the scrambled eggs were more like a flat, folded sheet of cooked egg. It tasted good, was fully cooked and not dry, but it wasn't fluffy like I was expecting. I think I'll stick with over-medium fried eggs I usually order here. The wait staff will bring you your drink in a "to go" cup if you ask, without a fuss - they are used to people driving long distances after leaving them. read more

I've been stuck on biscuits and gravy. Call in orders for lunch but still exspect a wait. No matter how many times I have made corrections, I seem to always pass this place by when driving there. They need a bigger sign that extended nears the entrance. Surrounded by so many hotels you will breeze by it. Lunch crowd is huge so don't even try parking legally. Just tuck yourself away and go straight to the long lines at the register. Food is regularly great every time at every location. The defining factor with always be customer service. This specific location has always performed well in that area as well. Both servers and managers are all hands on deck every time I come in trying to limit the wait time to seat and for pick ups. My family loves Cracker Barrel! We come to this location all the time. It's a good location. The St. Augustine outlets are around the corner. It's right next to I-95, and Highway 16 goes into historical St. Augustine. So, we travel through this area a lot. The entrance is kind of weird, but a lot of these restaurants are this way. They want visibility from the interstate more than ease of access. If you have never been to a Cracker Barrel, you live in a hole. They are everywhere, and they are all the same. The front porch is cool, with lots of rocking chairs for waiting, and you can purchase the rocking chairs as well. The restaurant in general is great for kids. The porch has games if you have to wait. The store has toys for the kids to look at. There are games and coloring pages at the tables. The dining room has a good volume for your kids. Loud enough they won't be noticed, but quiet enough it's not annoying. The entrance to the store is full of a lot of country styled trinkets and gifts. I don't care for the store, but my country wife loves it. Her favorite is all the Christmas decor when it's in season. As far as food, just eat your favorite country style meal. They serve breakfast all day, praise God! I always get the Old Timer or the Sunrise Sampler. It's good for indecisive people who want a little bit of everything. If I get the desire for dinner. My go to is the country fried steak, which is fried cube steak! You pick your own sides. They always have some sort of side of the day, so make sure you ask. I have been to Cracker Barrel's all over the USA. The food is always consistent except we have found that some Cracker Barrels do not know how to cook grits. Luckily this one made awesome grits. I have to mention the wonderful service we received at this particular location. I was so shocked that we never ran out of coffee. So we chose this one because was close to our Hotel, the first day, YES because we went back, we were sat quick and the best server ever came to give us a great service her name is Jennifer, we find out that she has been working there for over 10 years and later find out why, because she is really good at serving, the food was great fresh, tasty... Went here as a chaperone to a large group of nursing home patients. Our servers name was Austin and he did such a great job taking care of everyone. Such a sweet boy, that one. Full of southern charm and country pride. I swear that boy bleeds sweet tea! One of the patients had an accident on the ground, and the two young male hosts did not hesitate to scoop it up. Immediately went to bring out what they called the "big guns" to clean up my patients big mess. Swiftly came back and mopped up the remaining skid marks. They even used a squeegee. Impressive. Slightly odd expeirience. Went in with my disabled war veteran husband for some brunch and was greeted by this tan teenage boy. Super kind and was very helpful to my husband and accommodated us to a seat that was more quiet for him. However, that boy would not stop talking about the weapons on the wall. I remember him going on and on about that old rifle hanging from the ceiling. He was talking about them in a almost sinister way, very odd to say the least. Overall though the food was amazing , i'd advise a little less butter on the pancakes though, could feel my stomach churning for hours after the brunch and was on the toilet half the evening. My family and I have a tradition where every Sunday we have breakfast somewhere new. There's five of us so the dynamics can be really fun. Needless to say last Sunday was the Cracker Barrel. Our waitress was very good. She was attentive and knowledgeable. No one's cup ever went dry. The decor was a bit cheesey but fun. The restaurant was very busy, so beware of the table wait. The gift shop is packed and my kids love to touch things! The food was as expected, good. We covered the menu from Apple pancakes to chicken fried steak. Not flaky or even a real buttermilk taste. When I was paying my bill in the gift shop they had bisquit mix and seeing the picture of it made me wish my biscuits even looked like that. This place was not easy to find. My dad told me "It's the Cracker Barrel at SR 16 off of I-95." I passed the entrance. Mostly because the sign is at the bottom of a hotel sign and is far smaller and I was not coming from the interstate. I might have noticed the much larger sign had I been coming from the interstate. The staff were all friendly today and they served a rather large group of us. My dad had a chicken salad that came with all sorts of things in it. He had a side of bleu cheese that went really well with my fries. The rest of the salad didn't look that appetizing to me. He didn't eat much of it so I will leave that meal to your imagination. My wife shared some children's chicken tenders and fries with my son. She also indulged on the corn bread and biscuits with him. She loves to put apple butter on the biscuits. I shared some of the tenders as well and they were pretty decent. I ordered the Friday special for catfish. I felt a bit deceived. The special was either 4 fried cod fillets or catfish. I assumed the catfish would be fillets also. They were not. They were little nuggets and that is definitely not what I wanted. Catfish is kind of a specialty where I am from and these were okay, but not great at all. I did not want nuggets at all. The breading was also very, very corn flour laden without much other seasoning. The fries were pretty good and I had some broccoli that they doused in butter. Also, they seemed to ignore our water and only refilled the other drinks at the table until my wife and I specifically asked for a refill. All in all it was a very generic experience and not worth remembering outside of the family time. read more

On a family vacation to one of the oldest cities in the United States led us to our first meal at a safe food chain we could all agree upon, Cracker Barrel. At lunch time, there was a 10-15 minute wait for a table, which was easily passed with the olde timey country store attached to the restaurant. As we sat, ordered, and ate, the service was friendly, receptive, yet sparse and distracted. This irked me slightly, but my family, as private as they are, preferred this. The food was mediocre at best, even on a hungry stomach. I ordered a Country Fried Chicken platter with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and fresh apple slices with a water for my drink of choice. The chicken I ordered was clearly meant to be masked by the gravy usually smothered, as it was a dry and flavorless hunk of fried chicken. The potatoes and Mac and cheese were delicious, though a bit lukewarm as they hit the table. And the apple slices were just peachy. The water, surprising enough as it is to mess up, tasted like soapy dishwater. Overall, if you've been to one Cracker Barrel, you've been to them all. This one was a little subpar, but the service made up for it. read more

Absolutely horrible. We had a table of 6. Food took a while to come out, however when it finally came out the food is cold and only half of us got our food out. We had to wait another 10 minutes when the other half decided to come out, even then their food was cold. My dad for scrambled eggs, and in the eggs he found an egg shell in his food. Once we told our waitress, she took it back and came back out with a new thing of eggs, and made a snotty comment about if anyone else had egg shells in their food. The ham was leather dry. Don't waste your time or money here, you're better off going to the Denny's or Ruby Tuesday next door. read more
