I ate here on a Friday night after checking into my hotel room next door. It wasn't extremely busy and I was sat right away. Every CB has a similar dining area layout consisting of three eating areas, and I was seated in the furthest room. There were approximately 5 tables occupied in the room. It took a few minutes for the young employee to come and ask me for my drink and take my order. She was polite and courteous. I ordered the meatloaf with two sides, fried apples and sweet baby carrots. It took about 10 minutes for her to return with my coffee and some cornbread. Another 20 minutes passed and coffee and cornbread being long gone, my meal arrived...minus the carrots. She said they were not going to be ready for another 10 minutes and wondered if I still wanted them or wanted something else? I opted for option two and went with Mac 'n cheese, which she promptly went and got for me. She stated she would return with more coffee. Almost finished with my meal, she returned with coffee. Now amongst all this, I noticed that some other tables were giving this young employee a rather demanding time. I decided I wasn't going to add any extra stress to her evening and just thanked her when she showed up ...and besides once my meal came, it was good. When I got to the front desk to pay, the employee checked my ticket, looked puzzled, said something to the employee at the adjoining pay station, and then after a brief conversation with the manager via her headset, looked at me and said "the manager has comped your meal, have a great night." Hmmm, Interesting night to say the least, but reinforces my reasoning why I love to eat at Cracker Barrel. I will stop in here again sometime, and recommend you check them out. read more

I was at the Cracker Barrel about 3 weeks ago and had the worst service. Our server Dolores was rude and unapologetic about her behavior. If we asked for a refill or anything missing, she would ask us why we did not tell her earlier. But I don't know why I should ask for the butter for the biscuit. I would assume they would serve them with butter. Once I complained she proceeded to bad mouth us to other Servers, to the point where I could hear her. Cracker Barrel is one of those places where you just have to go to get the nice southern fell and hospitality. Walking in first thing you get to explore the shop which reminds you for the general stores from the olden times. There's a lot of candy, shirts and stuff, they even have a season section too. In the dining area has a fireplace for decoration and is quite spacious. I started my morning with some cold orange juice. Then I had my buttermilk pancakes with some eggs and bacon. It's the same atmosphere same decor and all, however, I've noticed the quality of the food has declined. We stopped in Vero Beach to grab a quick breakfast on the way to the airport. Staff was super friendly and atmosphere was good. Not busy at all. We placed our order for breakfast (4) of us. 2 ordered of scrambled eggs and order of 2 eggs over medium all three got bacon and hash brown casserole on 2 and grits on the other. Gravy and one order of sausage with a biscuit. It took way longer that it should have for this type of order and once it got to our table, all three orders of bacon were undercooked, the eggs over medium had one of the times busted and were both still raw. We sent the bacon back, I should have sent the eggs back, and it looked like they put the bacon in the fryer! So now it's overcooked and at this point t we are out of time so we eat what we can and head out. The gray was cold and the biscuits were too hard/over cooked! The HB casserole was not good / Luke warm and the grits while warm had begun to stiffen up like they dipped them up and the just sat in the bowl waiting on the rest of the order to be done. Cracker Barrel you are now not my first option for breakfast or anytime after today. Close to $50 for our check and we were super disappointed. We did leave the waitress a good tip as it was not her fault. Had we not been in a hurry I would have sent more of it back to the kitchen and should have asked for the manager. Server named Austin R. Was very slow. We waited over 15 minutes just for drinks and never got our food. We waited for around an hour with no food in sight while multiple tables over 5 tables all got their food before us. Never interacted with us to tell us any updates about food. worst service ever, paid for drinks and left. When we asked other waitresses for help just to get our drinks paid he magically appeared to tell us our food was in the window but had no hurry to even grab it. He didn't apologize and gave a mild attitude when he spoke about them being in the window. he kept on dragging his feet slowly bringing one drink at a time and other people had to bus his tables and bring out food. Finally, a server that had been taking care of tables in front of me for 10 mins finally introduced herself as my server. She didn't return after 5 mins, so I left. When I told the host I was leaving because I had been waiting, she thanked me for telling her, but no apology was offered. I was there for a total of 25 minutes. When I left a review on their website, they responded with sympathy, asking me to contact them. When I did, I was told quickly to call a number. Cracker Barrel is one f the east coast's favorite. The food is very hearty and pretty authentic. The price a good, and a greeter is available to assist in the storefront. Pretty cool. I would go again. They did mention that there is one in California and more are coming. Let's hope they don't lose the hearty meals they serve. Check them out. ;-) read more

We ordered a strawberry lemonade drink but it was too sweet so we just stuck with water. Service was good when we stopped in the last Sunday of August in the early evening. The menu seems somewhat limited as compared to the past. The food was a bit disappointing as well. My husband's Kick'N Ranch Chicken was served without the ranch which he had to ask the server to bring. My Ham Steak was very tough. The accompanying mashed potatoes did not taste fresh or homemade. My mom wanted turkey but it is now available only on Thursdays. The server asked me if I wanted to take my drink to go. It was only after I looked at the receipt that I saw that I was charged for the drink. If I'd known I would be charged for the to go drink, I wouldn't have taken one to go. My 85 year old mom really loves Cracker Barrel but I'm not sure when or if we'll return again. read more

I've always heard stories about Cracker Barrel's being racist but I thought that was folk lore and stuff you see on TikTok videos, but the way my family and I felt, it's like we were eating at a place that was still subscribing to Jim Crow era laws. First we were sitting in a section where it was mixed, but scattered, it was evident that if you were not white, only a certain server would take care of you. Now our server was excellent. She took our order and we waited, and waited, and waited... our waitress came by and informed us that for some reason our ticket kept getting pushed to the back of the line. Meanwhile, the tables around us were getting their meals delivered to their table without any delays - they had sat down and ordered after we had. Sitting there, waiting and watching every other table getting their meals while we just continued to wait can only make me think that I was being treated differently, and the employees were subscribing to Jim Crow era tactics. Food good, staff/kitchen service was terrible. If your skin has a darker shade than white, I would suggest you try any of the other restaurants on 60... Kind of a nightmare from the time we sat down. My mom sat down first while I purchased a peg game and some other items. After sitting for 10 mins once I joined her, the server went to every table except ours and people who sat down after me were already getting their food before the server even greeted us. When she finally asked if we wanted drinks while waiting for the other person in our party, we looked at her and said there is no one else, it's just the 2 of us. When she looked clearly puzzled and tried to say that she wasn't going to come over until the other person arrived, I corrected her and clarified that my mom was waiting for me to pay for goods at the register. And once I arrived our table was ready to at least order drinks. When she finally took our order, she kept talking over me as if she knew what I wanted so I kept loosing my train of thought and didn't get to request no bacon on my side salad (which frankly they should ask all diners if they want it the way it comes or to make changes). Then we were disappointed in the pot roast and the way the server and manager handled it. It was bone dry and 1/2 of it was charred like they put in on a coal BBQ (not in a pit or baked in an oven - charred to where several large pieces we're not edible), and it had no gravy/broth, but they'll did include 2 baby carrots cut into 3 or 4 pieces each. When the server asked how everything was I explained how dry it was and she said she would bring out more gravy. She brought out the brown gravy that goes on mashed potatoes and other meats but that is much thicker and has a very different taste (which I do not like) than what usually comes with the post roast. She had the kitchen make me another one which was a little better, but when she brought it out she stood there and just kept arguing that it's the same gravy even though I hadn't complained. Once she started arguing I simply pulled out the menu online and showed her a picture and asked if the 2 looked the same or not? She threw her hands in the air and said she would get the manager. The manager took about 7-10 minutes to slowly waltz over with a face on while my mom's food was getting cold. When he made it to our table he just said I hear there's a problem with the gravy. He said it was the same gravy but it tasted differently because of the vegetable and I didn't get the mashed potatoes. They only asked my mom if she wanted a box and didn't ask either of us if we wanted to go drinks. Worst Cracker Barrel ever. Food was subpar and the service was seriously lacking. First, we really appreciated the fact that the blocked out every other tables. We went with our usual lunch/dinner of grilled chicken and 2 side dishes. No guilt here! The grilled chicken is tasty and moist. Steamed broccoli is well done, nice and soft but still keep its bright green color!
