We actually made it inside for dinner tonight without a wait. Last time we attempted to have dinner here, there was a 1 1/2 hour wait, so we left and found somewhere else to eat. The building has nice curb appeal. Once inside however, there is very limited bar seating, and the dining area is quite small. So many people crammed into the tiny space makes it very loud and you have to shout across the table to hold a conversation. Our server, Brian, was efficient but not very personable and seemed agitated to have to repeat himself to tell us about the specials because we simply could not hear him over all the noise. He did nothing more than deliver drinks and food to the table, take our plates before some of us were finished, and deliver the bills. He wasn't interested in any personal exchanges to make us feel particularly welcomed. Not a great table-side manner. House wines are $8/glass, they do have beers on draft, bottled beers, and a full bar for cocktails. The menu is fairly limited but offers nice selections. Our entrees were good, however overpriced for the amount of food received on the plates, especially the tuna tacos which came with no sides; just two small tacos with minimal ingredients. $25 is just too much to ask for 2 tacos. The person that ordered these at our table, left still hungry. The overall dining experience was just okay. There were just too many people stuffed into a limited dining area making it loud, stuffy, and warm. For the entrees offered, there are other restaurants in the area that offer the same or similar menu items that are as equally good or better for a 1/3 less on the prices &/or offer more generous portions. I was hoping to be exceptionally wowed, but it just didn't happen.

Positive experience. Small restaurant, there's more parking than there is seating. Hostess was friendly but a bit confused. We sat at the bar bc there was a 30 min wait. The tables are close together, not a lot of personal space (same goes for bar seating). The bartender was friendly & on top of the specials. He offered recommendations & great conversation. The food was really good & timely. We ordered the specials, the menu is a bit limited. The key lime pie is made in house & was delicious. They have beer & wine, so I got champagne. Clean establishment. The prices reflect the fresh well prepared food. I honestly don't think I'd visit again bc on the menu I only saw fish tacos appealing. They don't offer a full bar & the seating is too tight.

Nine months later.........One of the things about going back to a solid 5 star restaurant is the expectation of another quality experience. And Chill and Grill did not disappoint. On a Saturday evening we brought along another couple who were first timers. We were greeted at the hostess station by the front house half of the married owners. Csilla (think Chill-uh, hence the restaurant moniker), is animated & outgoing. We were seated promptly. It wasn't overly crowded. Tim, our pleasant and knowledgeable waiter, took our drink orders. When he returned he shared the dinner specials and took our orders. We started with another order of those steamed clams ($15). Ahhh. The lightly salted buttery broth, the tender clam meat. The bread. Still wonderful. The appetizer of Asian duck wings were sauced in a mildly spicy sweet glaze. Grilled and quickly fried, the meat was crispy/charred. The wings were dotted with sesame seeds and sprinkled with chopped scallions. Delicious. Our friends nodded in agreement. I ordered the restaurant's popular dish; Cajun shrimp and grits with andouille sausage pieces ($23.99) On a bed of creamy white hominy grits, the chef ladled on six large peeled shrimp and 1/4 rounds of sausage in a mildly spicy Cajun seasoned broth. Those flavors are time tested and the chef's interpretation did not disappoint. My wife and our friend both ordered the Chicken pasta ($21). Rich creamy cheese sauce with pesto coated penne pasta and pieces of good sun-dried tomatoes. Sliced grilled white meat topped the bed of pasta. Both proclaimed the dish as very good and my sample tasting added to their vote of approval. Finally, the fourth diner opted for the evening special of a smoked cattleman's NY strip steak ($34.99). This was the showpiece dish at our table. The 14 oz cut was allowed to wear a fat cap to enhance the smoke and grill treatment. The result was a mildly smoked and grilled cut of beef that was eye-rolling delicious. The oak smoke was the seasoning, sans some salt and pepper. It was ordered at medium rare temp and leaned to the rare side but was wonderfully tender. Served with truffle fries and grilled asparagus, it is a must try if you're undecided on an entree and it's a special on the menu. Another tempting special I had to bypass was the smoked turkey pot pie ($22). Close but....next time. No room for dessert but we know from our previous visit that our expectation of an outstanding dessert would be confirmed. Chill and Grill has found its place on our list of favorites.

Have visited this roadside bistro a couple times since our initial review. It is consistently very good. A modest menu and some nice specials. We love the duck wings appetizer and the warm brownie sundae is a great way to finish the meal. It is a little small and noisy but the service is excellent and it is always a delightful, unpretentious night out!

For starters, they never asked for our IDs. Now, my husband and I are old enough to drink, but the fact that they didn't check them should have been a red flag. It's clear they just don't care. As the night went on, it became even more apparent. The staff didn't seem to care enough to cut people off when they had clearly had too much to drink. At one point, a man approached my husband and me while we were sitting on the couch and started a bizarre conversation, making strange comments and pointing at us. We tried to ignore it, but then his "friends" had to pull him away. A little later, he came back, now more aggressive than before. I started yelling for help from other patrons or the bartender, and they only responded by pulling him away. The bartender didn't intervene at all. At that point, we decided to cut our night short. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, not even on a quiet Wednesday. If they're not responsible enough to check IDs, they clearly don't care enough to ensure their patrons' safety or comfort.

This is the only restaurant on property and the menu is small. Service started with bread, which included rolls and corn bread. We had four kids with us, and they brought out their food first, which was appreciated. I ordered the salmon, which was fine. It wasn't anything special. We also ordered dessert, which was the highlight of the meal. Service was also really great. It's just a very limited menu.

My wife and I are staying at the Disney's Vacation Club Vero Beach resort…read more We wanted to try out the Wind and Wave restaurant. We had a bit of a wait so we went to the Green Cabin room for a couple of drinks. Beautiful lounge with beautiful views of the ocean. When our table was ready we asked if we could bring our drinks to the restaurant and the bartender said we would have to transfer drinks into to go cups and they would transfer them back into glassware as soon as we were seated. When we were seated a manager type person said our server was busy with a huge order and he was more than happy to help. He did accommodate us with getting the glassware for our drinks. He also took our order to help out with our server. My wife ordered the chicken salad with avocado and the French onion soup. I ordered the mahi mahi fish and chips. I have to say the fish and chips were some of the best. Four fish planks with tasted like a home made tartar sauce. They laid on a good portion of fries that were cooked well. The restaurant was a quaint nautical themed place with a nice atmosphere. We had the festive center piece due to the Christmas season. The server I think forgot our French Onion soup and brought it to us a bit late in the dinner. It was a hardy soup and we couldn't figure out what was causing a sweet taste to it. Maybe they used a sweet onion in the recipe. When we received the bill it had a 25 dollar corking fee place on the bill and we had to remind our server they we brought them from the bar and he was more than happy to take it off the bill. Overall the restaurant put out great food at a little bit higher price point, but well worth the experience. If we come back to the resort we will definitely plan on having dinner here again.
