From the minute, you walk through the door, you feel like you've gone back in time.! We were offered our choice of tables by the host, and we sat at a nice corner table in the bar. Our server/bartender Matthew, greeted us and told us about the daily specials and his signature drinks. The special was a small plate served with three perfectly cooked scallops on a pumpkin bur Blanc sauce. It was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night! Every part of our evening was just fantastic...

We had such an amazing dinner here! Matthew was our server and he absolutely made the night -- so attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Even though the bar isn't a full bar, he crafted incredible drinks with the ingredients they have, and they were spot on. The food was outstanding. The NY steak with béarnaise sauce and potatoes was cooked perfectly, and the tuna carpaccio was absolutely exquisite. Every bite felt thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. I will definitely be back -- this is officially a new favorite of mine! UPDATE: went again last night for I'd say my 3rd time and sat outside, it was lovely weather even after sunset and I really enjoyed the booth tables. I had to come update my review and mention Shelby was so thoughtful and kind - people like her and Matthew (and the INCREDIBLE chef) are what makes this place really special. I could have talked to her all night long. I genuinely think this is the best restaurant in Oceanside and will continue to come back any chance that I get

Just had a wonderful introduction to the Victorian last evening with friends; what fun. The food was remarkable in flavor and presentation. The service was caring and cordial, as we are a talkative crew. Great atmosphere created by this 1888 Victorian home, from the same year that Oceanside became a city. Beautiful courtyard; booths and tables with umbrellas, add to its comfort. Looking forward to the market and brunches that are planned.

The Victorian at Hill Street was recommended to us by some friends, so we decided to give it a shot. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and - as Oceanside natives - well versed on the history of the historic building and the surrounding area, which is something we really appreciated. We had the Laffa & Tahini and Tuna Carpaccio appetizers, which were just right as starters. Visually appealing and very tasty. The Little gem Salad was the perfect second course. The Zarsuela de Mariscos was amazing -very savory, which my wife really enjoyed. I had the Filet Mignon, which was served medium rare and buttery tender. We finished things off with the Burnt Basque Cheesecake, which my wife said was "the best cheesecake I've had in years." The cocktails were great, and that lemonade - a must try. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

Amazing flavors paired to perfection. And what a cool vibe in the victorian house, beautiful details. Service was very good really wanted to make our experience great.

    Steak - a must have!

I've been waiting for this spot to open and it has not disappointed! The restaurant is just a feast for the eyes - I love everything about the decor. The food is just as delicious. Do not miss the roasted corn lemonade - sounds bizarre but it's incredible!! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. I love everything about this place and can't wait to come back!

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the host (I forgot his name, but it starts with a V?). Super friendly and helped all of us feel at home; Would occasionally check-in to make sure our needs were taken care of too. Sometimes you walk into bars and deal with judgy/pretentious people or service workers and we didn't get that impression at all from any of the staff here. My girlies and I ended up sitting in the outside area, which honestly was a great choice due to the humid weather AND we got a great view of the beach sunset. It's a bit stuffy (when it's hot), but still nice inside the establishment. We also ordered some drinks and tiramisu to make the most of our time there. Overall, Sound By The Sea is a great spot to catch-up and unwind during one of those longer summer nights (cue the Summer Nights song by Lil Rob lol). I hope you also enjoy the same fun experience my friends and I shared yesterday. Thank you. :-)

This was my second time here, and I love everything about this place. First of all, kudos to the bartender--I forgot her name, but she was incredibly generous and kind. She accidentally forgot my drink and kept apologizing, but I told her it was totally fine since we had a large party. To make up for it, she gave me two shots instead of one and even added a big discount. The ambiance of this place is unique and very artsy. If you're looking for a cool, one-of-a-kind spot to hang out, this is it. There's so much attention to detail throughout--even the restroom door is thoughtfully designed with a modern, creative touch. My friend ordered a variety of cocktails, and everyone enjoyed them. The food was great as well. I ordered the hummus plate, and it was the best I've ever had--so fresh and served in a generous portion. My friends tried the pizza and a few other items from the menu, and everything got a thumbs up. If you're in the area looking for a cool place to hang out or planning a party, this is the spot. I'll definitely be back again soon.

Bottlecraft has several locations, but we have both agreed that the Oceanside location is our favorite. Bottlecraft is a bottle shop and tasting room - This means that you can taste a variety of beers, which taps continuously rotating - then pick up cans of your faves.. or try brand new cans to bring home. We love to grab a spot at the bar {typically to watch whatever sporting event is on TV}, or on the back outdoor patio space if we come with a group. When seated at the bar area, you can also chat with the amazing beertenders and ask for their recommendations if you're unsure what to try {I will always recommend a good Hazy or Double IPA}. The team here is always on point - Providing fantastic service as well as friendly conversation while you enjoy your brews! Not a beer drinker?! Hard Kombucha, Cider, Wine and Non-Alcoholic options are available - There is something for everyone! While enjoying your brews, if hunger hits, visit Shootz Fish & Beer - This is a stellar food spot tucked in the corner as you enter the shop. Do not skip out on the Potato Taco!
