Server David D.Asked if we had any questions about the menu and started to explain a few things... we mentioned that we had looked at the menu online and our beverage and meal order was taken. They have PEPSI products not COKE. The short rib Benedict was fantastic. We did substituted the spicy hollandaise sauce for the regular hollandaise sauce. We decided to take the Metro Link to Oceanside on Saturday, 07/25/26. The train goes from LA Union Station to Oceanside vice versa. The Unlimited Weekend Special Pass is $10 for Adults and $5 for Senior's and the Disabled. Free rides for Children under 17. After arriving to Oceanside, we walked around a "Sustainable Festival" taking place on Coast Hwy. We purchased snacks, clothing & jewelry. Afterwards we had breakfast/lunch at "Mary's Family Restaurant". We were greeted with a smile and seated right away. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The food was very good. They have indoor & outdoor dining. Since we were walking I am not too sure of the parking situation. There are other eateries in the area to choose from as well. I will definitely visit Mary's again. I've been here a few of times for both lunch and breakfast and every time the food hits so hard! You get a big bang for your buck while still getting great quality ingredients and service. This morning I had the best egg, cheese and sausage bagel sandwich of my life. I will never get another breakfast sandwich anywhere else after having that. I loved it so much, I had to give them a shoutout!! I highly recommend giving Mary's a try if you are ever in the area, you will not be disappointed. My wife ordered a breakfast burrito (no meat). Received a monster burrito cut in half. Almost entirely potatoes. Politely complained about it, and asked it be returned. Received push back from the waitress. She stepped way, left the plate and never saw her again. By now, I'd nearly finished my meal. Finally, another waitress came to the table asked what the problem was. Explained the situation again, she left, and also left the plate. Finally, a 3rd young man came to the table. Explained the situation AGAIN. He picked up the plate, and said "I'll see what I can do." He returned a few minutes later. By now I'm done with breakfast. He offered a 10% discount off my wife's burrito. She declined, and asked it be taken off the bill. He asked if she wanted anything else. Again she declined, saying we were leaving now. Again he said "Let me see what I can do." By now this is getting kinda ridiculous. He finally returns with the burrito removed from the bill. The whole experience was a disappointment. We've been regular customers for years. Noticed a few months back the staff had changed. Regular waitresses are all gone now. Sad.. Used to bring friends & family to Mary's. Disappointed- I know my daughter brought me here once before. I could have sworn I wrote a review for here but I can't find it. I remember thinking it was pretty good. Today is another story. I had biscuits and gravy and I guess being from the south it is just hard to find really good biscuits and gravy. The plate had a lot of food on it but I barely ate it. I did not complain because they were so busy but I would have thought, being an ex-waitress, that she would have seen so much food left and would have asked if there were something wrong.
