Great beer selection & great food. The prices are reasonable but high enough to keep out the "riff raff" in jean shorts & tank tops. Very nice local place. I go there twice a month and it's always a great experience. The servers are very nice. I do agree with other reviewers that even when they have completely open tables, there is a 5-10 minute wait to be seated at those same open tables. Doesn't seam very efficient. Just had dinner there with the ball and chain. Wanted food and needed it now. Didn't feel like driving all over the place. Luckily, I remembered this place recently opened and was right down the street. Well, I'm glad we stopped in. The decor is really nice. They have a fireplace with a sofa and chairs which looked comfy. Was a little dark inside, but it fit this place perfectly. They have a pretty big selection of beers. About 15 on tap IIRC, and then another 3 sheets (no pun intended) of beers you can buy by the bottle. Another plus, is you can create your own 6 pack and get a 20% discount on the beers you choose. SCORE!! To top this all off, it's the first place in the area I live in that serves my favorite beer....Arrogant Bastard Ale by the Stone Brewing Co. So right off the bat after seeing that, I'm happy. I order a Stone Ruination IPA and set to ordering dinner. Not a whole lot of people there. About 8 or so dining, and another dozen at the bar. Which is fine by me. Was able to have a conversation (not that I pay attention, but I fein interest) and not have to shout over people. We ordered the Mac & Cheese, Chicken Pot pie with salad, a Pub Burger w/fries and for dessert chocolate bread pudding. The mac & cheese was great. At $8 they could've given a little more, but honestly it was so good I didn't care. Would probably pass on this the next time we go but it was really good. She devoured her salad, arugula with what seemed to be a raspberry vinagrette, but I could be wrong, and the poor pot pie was decimated in about 10min. So I think she liked it. My burger was cooked exactly how I asked. Medium. I'm always surprised when I ask for medium and get a med. well to well done burger. This was nice, thick and juicy which is the way burgers were intended to be. The fries had a garlic/rosemary seasoning on em which was also excellent. Our dessert, the bread pudding, was also good however not the best part of the meal. All in all, it was a great dinner and a great experience. Our server was very attentive, prompt and helpful on the meal and beer suggestions. It's pretty close to the Outlets so if you stop by there definitely make sure you stop in here for a bite. Worth every penny (which BTW our bill was only $38, not bad at all for the amount of food we got!!!) After a 45 min wait for a table on Saturday night, we were told that they were out of french fries, perogies, fish and chips and pulled pork! An already small menu managed to get worse. A side salad then accompanied my burger, if you want to call it that, was a few pieces of lettuce! Oh ya, and thats all that was on my burger,1 piece of lettuce. No tomatoes, no onions, nothing! --and it was only 7:00pm, still had a line of people waiting. The owner (i assume was him) was walking around and chatting with friends at the bar, rather than running to the grocery store to buy POTATOES AND TOMATOES! Don't waste your time or money. We decided to try the Craft Ale House after looking at other reviews. Well I am not sure where these folks ate, but it was not here. When we arrived the hostess told us IF she seated us we could only look at the lunch menu, but if we waited 15 minutes we could see the dinner menu. Strange, yes especially since there was NO one waiting and more than half the tables were empty! We opted to sit at a table instead of waiting. When we were seated a three page, front and back, macro beer menu was provided as well as their local made menu. The waitress either did not know anything about their beers or chose not to explain the choices so I ordered a macro. It arrived 10 minutes later and it was hot! A couple with two kids walked in a few minutes later and, I assume, decided to wait for the dinner menu. The family walked the 10 feet to the waiting area, while the hostess walked to an empty table and stood there. As soon as the family had settled in, the hostes walked over and told them they could sit at a table AND see a dinner menu even though they were still 5 minutes early for dinner. When our food arrived their specialty "handcut" fries tasted like we were eating salt directly from the salt shaker. The bbq sandwich had such a strong liquid smoke chemical taste that it was almost inedible. All this for more than $50 for three people and we only had one beer! There was a bright spot. The deck over looks the local nuclear power plant. So if you are looking for hot beer, high priced mediocre food with a great view, this is your place! read more

Great beer list, can't argue with that. The first time I ate here (a few years ago), everything was awesome across the board. I totally loved it. This past time... it was really bad. I was wanting it to be awesome, the beer was awesome, food looked awesome, but meh. The mushroom ricotta ravioli appetizer was $12 for 3 ravioli. Which would be totally fine if the ravioli was really intense and delicious. I was ready and waiting for delicious ravioli. YEARNING for delicious ravioli. The $4/pc ravioli were not delicious. The filling had zero flavor, was devoid of salt, and the ricotta was undetectible. Sauce was super lemony, which would be fine, but it was totally out of balance w/ the lame ravioli. No bueno! Smoked pulled chicken spring roll... again, no flavor, no seasoning, not a hint of salt. The chili sauce was OK I guess. Same chili sauce as on the scallops, which again, had no seasoning. Mushroom soup was tasty, totally yum. I thought the tarragon garnish was weird but maybe you'd like it. Anyway, for this bland ickiness we paid a hefty price and waited 45min. The table next to us had finished their dinner and was then asked to move to the bar/lounge no more than 15min after paying their bill to turn the table. Very disappointed with 2 out of 3 items ordered. Mussels flavor was good but only if you don't mind a little grit. Chicken Pot Pie was horrendous. Tiny bowl with hardly any chicken and just barely warm. Crust on top was like a flat white piece of cardboard, couldn't eat the "crust" looked like an uncooked frozen pastry. Nothing like a golden, crispy puff pastry I was expecting. Short rib with egg sandwich had fried onion rings that were stone cold. Short rib was dry like reheated last nights special or something. Side salads were soggy. Complained to waiter said he told the manager who offered a dessert to go but still charged for 2 half eaten plates. Also, I had requested a sample of carrot ginger soup that I was considering taking home for later but that he never brought the sample. It's a very pleasant throwback to 1960's southern hospitality. You can sit, won't get served. But as soon as whitey walks in, you have to leave. I never see the point to getting chicken tenders at a restaurant. When I come here, I never can bring myself to get anything else. I crave the tossed chipotle tenders. They have music sometime which is nice depending on if you want noise or not. Other times it is very quiet. All around one of my favorite places just down the road. read more

Heard this place was great and was truly disappointed. It was very cute. Waitress came over promptly and it was the last good thing that happened. She forgot my friends lemonade. The food took an hour to come out- at lunchtime! My mussels had a very strange taste. The quality was nice and I enjoyed the toast that came with it but there was a very unpleasant taste as if a lot of cheap wine had been added to the broth. My friends sandwich did not thrill her. My wife and I were hesitant to come here after reading some of the reviews but we loved our experience! The food was superb, tap beer selection was great (much more bottle choices) and we really enjoyed the live music. Our waitress was very nice and made excellent recommendations for my wife. This place doesn't look like your typical brew-pub. When I heard the name, I assumed it would be like a Gordon Biersch, BJ's, or similar restaurant. I was surprised when I pulled up that it's a pretty small place. The bar area is right in front of you when you walk in. There is a dining area with tables, booths, etc. to the right. It's a quaint, comfortable place overall. I was passing through town on business, and wasn't drinking, but the beer menu was hard to resist. There were some great-sounding beers in the list. I got there between lunch and dinner, and I'm glad I did. I was able to order the spinach salad from the lunch menu. It was full of warm bacon chunks and mushrooms, and was just amazing. I ordered the hangar steak from the dinner menu; it was pretty good. Kinda mushy, for some reason, but cooked perfectly and served with collard greens (and more bacon!), mashed plantains, and a sweet molasses sauce. The menu didn't have a lot of selections, but I think that anyone could have found something from the choices they offered. If I'm ever in that area again, I'll definitely go back. read more

If you want a fantastic selection of beer and great ambiance you could give this place another star. The food service is friendly, robotic and slow. We ordered fish and chips and a grilled chicken sandwich. It took 42 minutes to arrive. The fish and chips was good. I could have done with a little less grease. The sandwich sadly was bad - most likely spoiled. My wife sent it back with her appetite basically killed. Fries were average - serviceable and definitely not well done as requested. I feel bad giving three stars because I have been waiting so long to come here, but maybe I will have a second experience that will bump me because I will try again. Had the spinach dip- ew. When you get spinach dip, you're not trying to eat heathy, make it cheesy. Lots more dippers. We felt like we were just having sautéed spinach in olive oil on baguettes. For a beer girl, the beer selection was good, but there are just as many that are as good or better within a 20 minute drive. I love going to the Craft Ale House. As an avid homebrewer myself, this is the perfect place for trying just about any craft beer I can think of. They have a huge bottle collection and a good sized menu on tap. The food is awesome as well. The burgers are the best I've seen in the area- better than getting a steak at a fine steak house. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about craft beers. I like going to a restaurant that I can ask "What's on tap?" and not have to wait paitently till they get past all the domestics only to learn closest thing they have to Craft Beer is Heinekin or Sam Adams Boston Lager. The bar fills up at lunch time and many of us have become regulars even if "regular" is only once a month. You can strike up a conversation with your bar neighbors and be pleasantly surprised at who you meet. The only downside to the Craft Ale House is that they will not seat you at a table until everyone arrives. So on weekends it makes it real hard when you're getting together with friends and neighbors and you're all meeting at the Ale House. Your table for 8 will have to wait to be seated until that last friend arrives which can be really annoying. so don't bother trying to save a seat for someone who's just meeting you all for drinks. But beyond that the Craft Ale House is perfect. read more

Living out in Royersford I find myself usually in the city of Conshy for dining out. However stumbled across Craft Ale House when going to Ace Hardware one day and been best thing I ever found. The place doesnt look fancy from outside but the inside is gorgeous. Dark wood and cream color walls give it the great gastropub feel. The food was AMAZING!!!! Nothing what you would think. The menu has everything from burgers, which are freshly ground when ordered, to shrimp quinoa salad with arugula. I have had both there so far and needless to say absolutely amazing. Fresh and you can taste the food. They do not put too much sauce on it. Also the burger was done exactly how I ordered; medium rare with char on outside. As for drinks they do only carry beer but have a wide selection of gluten free. This puts it at 4 for me. They should offer at least wine. I will visit till I try the whole menu and have already recommended friends to make the drive then go to outlets. read more

Great atmosphere and good service but the food tastes poorly. All the food looks great and I don't think they are using frozen patties but it either has no flavor or tastes strange. Fries are great, burger did not taste like beef at all, calamari had a very strange sauce and also tasted strange. Spring rolls were not like anything I every tasted before, very strange. Been going there for years but really soured after last night. First they have taken the best sandwich they had-the short-rib sandwich-off the menu. I end up ordering the pork sandwich with peppers and provolone. The sandwich itself was terrible-VERY LITTLE MEAT on the sandwich. For 11 bucks the meat should fill the roll-not come up short 2 inches on each side and from the top. The French Fries were soggy and inedible. I told the waiter about it and he seemed indifferent. You would think he would have been apologetic and taken something off the bill or offer something else. NOPE. I do not mind paying for overpriced beer BUT-the food had better be good. This is our family go to place in the neighborhood for pub grub. Once a deli/ sandwich shop before its present transformation, it is a small space with limited seating that gets super busy on weekends so wait time may be long as they do not take reservations. There is a large lot so parking is not an issue. When diining here we usually start our meal with an appetizer of buttermilk chicken tenders tossed with harissa chili sauce which adds a nice kick . Also have sampled several of their cream soups which while satisfying are a tad too thick.. The only recent disappointment was the poorly prepared fish and chips which lacked a crisp crust and was greasy. Having had this dish served properly on several other visits, perhaps it was just an off night. The burgers, however, always hit the mark as they are made with quality beef and have what every good pub burger should have - a lovely charcoal flavor. To turn up the flavor index even more, I always get my burger topped with caramelized onions and blue cheese which lends just the right amount of sharpness. The handcut fries that accompany the dish are plentiful and delicious as well. For a small place, the Craft Ale House, has a good selection of beers on tap. While the beer offerings lean toward IPA's, I have always been able to enjoy a hardy, well crafted stout with my dinner. If you are unfamiliar with a particular draft beer, they will offer a complimentary sample.They also have a large selection of bottled beers from around the world Service is adequate and prices are reasonable for typical pub food, but are a bit pricey for some of the entrees. read more

'The Craft' is a gem of a beer mecca along the 422 corridor in Limerick. It's been a hit amongst beer lovers and foodies since the day it opened. There is often a long wait at dinner time and not just on Friday and Saturday nights. After a few frustrating occasions of long waits (without room to sit or even stand near the bar while waiting) I've come to learn that Tuesday nights are normally the least crowded night and I normally sit right down when we go then. read more

I travel a lot for my job, and it tends to take me to smaller towns around the country. It can be hard to find good food in small suburban towns that isn't overpriced for the quality. Craft Ale House is fantastic. One of the best places I've been to nationwide for food that isn't exorbitantly expensive but still great quality. They also have one of the better selections of beers, both on tap and in their refrigerated wall. But the thing that sets this place apart from other pub style restaurants is the staff. Every time I've been there, I've been served by Kayla, and she is hands down the best server I've had during my travels. She's always prompt, doesn't constantly hover while you're eating, and the food and drinks are always exactly as ordered(which can be a rarity, if you've spent a lot of time in restaurants). She's never given anything but 100% and that's made me a fan of this place for life. Kudos to management for picking such a fantastic staff to work with! read more

The Craft Ale House is the class of beer bars. The tap selection is constantly rotating to offer your palate new and fantastic choices. The bottle list is extensive and will cover all of your road beer needs. The food selection is better than I've come to expect from micro/beer bar fare. The high quality chicken tenders are required fare for every visit. The decode is homey and comfortable, the staff super friendly and Gary and Melissa are excellent folks. I would pay no attention to the one star reviews. The Craft Ale is a small venue, and it sounds like most of the bad reviewers walked in on a Friday or Saturday evening and expected to be seated right away. (you folks need to grow up). If there's a wait for seating, grab a brew and socialize with your friends until a table frees up. This is a rare place, the kind of place that you look forward to going to and leave happier than when you came. See you at the Craft Ale! read more
