I don't know where to start ! First the service here is amazing. My car needed to be repaired as my whole left side was dented in by a hit and run driver .I had to pay for a rental car out of pocket . Since Sam the owner was aware I had to pay out of pocket for a rental car , he went out of his way to make sure I can get my car back in a good amount of time without me breaking my bank for a rental . He even followed up with me on status of my car, so I had an idea when to drop off my rental . Sam the owner even stated they use good quality products and like to make sure the job is done correct and not half fast . The repair on my car was done amazing and they even detailed the car for me as well . I couldn't even tell there was a repair done . There has been other repairs I had been to in the past, but impact #2 tops off as the best . Thank you sam!!

I love this place. My 2015 Subaru BRZ was vandalized recently and they shattered my rear window. Progressive said this was the closest autobody shop they partnered with. Before sending my car here I read some reviews and I was impressed. Even the low star reviews looked like it was still a positive experience. So I had my car taken here. And the work they have done was fantastic. I even had them repaint my rear bumper, and let me tell you the paint was flawless. I will gladly bring my cars here in the future. They went above and beyond. They even put my trunk interior back together which was unrelated because I was too lazy to when I put the new tail lights on.

They even buffed out my headlights for no charge.

Someone hit my car and I had been to other collision repair places in the past. I had some other damage to my truck that I had to have repaired. Seeing I was paying for the other repairs out of my pocket, I did some shopping around. Impact was below the average and after reading the reviews I took it there. Well Jose was informative and very fair on the repair I was paying for. He gave me a date he would have it done by and the team at Impact met that time frame. Upon picking the truck up, I was floored. It looked like a new truck. It was clean and immaculate. The guys at impact even went above and beyond and touched up a few spots I didn't even pay for and buffed out my dimming headlight lens. I would not hesitate to refer my friends or family members to go here. There's no reason to shop around. This shop has the best prices and does amazing quality work. You won't be disappointed.

They also have strong industry relationships that help them source quality parts at fair prices, which can save customers money compared to going directly to a dealership. What stood out most to me was their transparency. They took the time to explain what actually needed to be fixed versus what could wait. The work was done professionally, communication was great throughout the process, and I never felt pressured into unnecessary repairs. If you're looking for a trustworthy mechanic in Escondido that does quality work at fair prices, I'd absolutely recommend Fair Auto Repair. 2011 Honda Accord 2 Door EX-L V6

On a positive note, the shop is very clean and gated, so it is a safe place to leave your car overnight Nevertheless, I will not return to the shop. My experience found them to be dishonest. I brought my 2022 Volkswagen Taos (approximately 35,000 miles) in for a routine oil change and was told that my rear brake rotors needed to be replaced immediately because "new brake pads would not apply to the rotors." At the time this did not make sense because I did not hear any screeching on my brakes and had no issues with my brakes prior to this appointment. However, I was in a time crunch and did not have time to visit an auto shop anytime soon for a second recommendation. I was about to start a full-time commute driving 60 miles each way five days a week. Because of this, I went ahead with the repairs. The way the need for replacement was presented made me feel like my vehicle was unsafe to drive if I didn't authorize the repair. Every time I mentioned driving to Orange County, Fred's response only furthered my fear. Once the repairs were underway, I began to question the pricing and necessity for replacement. It was at that point that I asked for pictures of the rotors, and then I asked the shop to give me my rotors and brake pads when the repairs were completed. Before I left the shop, I took a closer look at the rotors myself. While the shop owners did an excellent job of trying to convince me at the time that these rotors needed to be replaced, my first instinct was that they looked fine and did not need to be replaced. They had normal wear, and as I ran my fingers over them they had no deep grooves, no significant scoring, and no obvious damage. I took my rotors with me and had them reviewed by a friend who owns a repair shop in Orange County. There was nothing indicating the rotors were at the end of their useful life. It was at that point I knew I needed to write a review. To be clear, the shop failed to provide any measurements showing the rotors were below the manufacturer's minimum thickness or warped, replacing them did not appear to be an obvious necessity. The long-term effects of this experience will be felt every time I drive my car. When business owners look out for their bottom line over the needs of their customers, they often overlook the long-term consequences. Lost business, bad reputation, long-term loss. Being a woman, I assume they did not think I would do my research and dive this deep on the situation. But I do not like to call dishonesty out without having all the facts first. It was a poor miscalculation on their part. What disappointed me most was not that the shop recommended additional work, there are certainly situations where rotor replacement is appropriate. It was the fear-based approach used to sell the repair. As a customer, I rely on professionals to provide objective information, explain why a repair is needed, and present the evidence so I can make an informed decision. Instead, I left feeling pressured into believing my brakes were unsafe. It is experiences like this that have taught me to always double check what mechanics tell me. I value honest recommendations and transparent communication. If the rotors had been measured and shown to be below specification, or if there had been another objective reason they required replacement, I would have appreciated that explanation. Unfortunately, that wasn't my experience. I encourage others to seek a second opinion before authorizing expensive repairs based solely on verbal recommendations.

After a lot of Yelp research, I found Escondido Auto Tech. I brought my vehicles for a smog and got great service each time. Found them easy to work with too. Next, I brought in my car for maintenance and a list of repairs and items to check on. Let me not bore with the mundane details, just know: -they took good care of the car, addressing every item on my list. -Frank, the service manager, took the time to discuss the list of repairs with me and explained what they would do-to make sure we were on the same page with everything. There were three auto repair companies right next door to my office in RB but after reviewing Yelp, I discovered that there was a much much better one a few miles away. Trusting Yelp, I immediately headed over to Ricks RB Auto because his reviews were not only much much better but the praise to the quality of work gave me a very high comfort level. I was not disappointed. Driving into his shop is not that impressive being part of a shell station but the staff were efficient and friendly even though they were closing. They wasted no time diagnosing the issue. It was a leak in the cooling system in the rear section of the engine. Rick made me comfortable that he'll take care of it ASAP. The very next day the car was ready and Rick mentioned he ran into some issues. It turned out that it wasn't just a hose but a special water pump attached to the hybrid system that was cracked into two! Turned out this is a $900 part because Hyundai sells it as part of a larger piece that connects to the manifold, so he went to another source and found a refurbished part for just $200! Saving me $700. He not only saved me a huge amount of money had I taken it elsewhere but made several important recommendations on belt replacement as the car was aging. I told him he is going to be the only company to look after this car from now on! Well believe it or not, the car overheated again a few days later and off it went back to Rick. He assured me they will take care of it and boy did they. It turned out to be another hose failure in a different part of the engine. He not only replaced it and the coolant but charged me absolutely nothing!!! Even though the problem was brand new. I'm sold and I will highly recommend Rick to my friends and to anyone else in San Diego. It's so rare to see such service anywhere.
