Amazing nachos and wings! We had a wicked craving for nachos and were happy to see they offered delivery through Uber Eats. The nachos were not lacking in toppings and we had ordered extra cheese, but they really didnt need it! The wings we got were beer salt and pepper. They were also so delicious!!! I enjoyed all four, one was the excellent recommendation of our server. Our server was polite and prompt. Unfortunately the food we ordered was all kinds of wrong. The fish tacos were served with cold, undercooked fish. I was told the fish is slightly raw on purpose, but the cold aspect really turned me off. We also ordered a prosciutto and arugula flatbread which was ok. The kale salad we ordered also came with cold chicken (again with the quesy factor about being served cold meat) and there really wasn't much to it beyond kale and some dressing. Absolutely terrible!!!!!!! We wanted to come here for lunch, we were seated and the server came over 2 seconds after to take a drink order. At this stage we haven't even lifted the menus, once we read over them and decided what we wanted to drink we waited for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes with no one coming near us we left. The restaurant was not overly busy and there were 3 servers folding napkins. When we left the girl that sat us said have a great day and we told her we were waiting for over 20 minutes and no one came near us and she just laughed. Will not be back. read more

This was my first time here! It's in a great area a small cul de sac in the heart of downtown close to Churchill. It's winter so we sat inside but I believe they have a nice roof top patio I wanna check that out! I will definitely be back the booth we sat at was nice and spacious and comfortable. Our server was friendly but didn't hang over us which is good she seen when we were going low on drinks offered us more cleared plates in good timing. I had the TLT it was tasty and I love there presentation it's all sodden boards but they have parchment paper between the food and board which is great! The chips were really good to fried to the right amount and black pepper and another flavour over them. I drank a grapefruit lager it was refreshing and a tasty larger really enjoyed it! I've been to Craft a couple times and haven't been terribly impressed. The service was between slow and non-existant. Mind you, the place was packed both times. It's one of these places that is so typical in Edmonton. It tries to be a classy place to come and have drinks with friends, however the music is so loud that its a struggle to carry on a conversation and you end up yelling and just nodding your head all night because you have no idea what anyone is actually saying. As you would imagine, they have an extensive beer menu. Most beers range from $7-10 for a pint. If you enjoy yelling with your friends about the hopiness of double IPAs or the undertones of the latest microbrew, you're in the right place. Not for me though. read more

Went on Wednesday night for their soft opening (ooo, I've never been able to say that before). It was very cold, windy and snowing and there were about 10-15 people in line. The bouncer said "there's not a wait time, I just need the host to come back." Just because you say it's not waiting, doesn't mean it isn't. Anyways, we got inside and the friendly host found our name on the list, and then another girl guided us upstairs to the Yelp section. I didn't realize this building was so huge on the inside! On that note, though, it's super loud. The upstairs area is more like the size of a smaller restaurant. It got very hot up there very quickly. Food: There was a fish taco station set up upstairs and an ahi tuna station downstairs. Our server was super nice and brought us a few bowls of the tuna so we didn't have to make the trek ourselves. The fish tacos were good, but the attitude of the woman at the station was horrific. I asked if I could take two and she just bluntly said "I'd rather not", when a friendly "Oh sorry I wish we could but you can't" would have sufficed. When I went back for seconds I heard her loudly complaining to two other customers about it (people wanting more than one at once) loudly. Rule of thumb: don't complain about customers in front of other customers. We also had a free flat bread come to our table that was pretty tasty. I didn't order anything off of the menu. Drinks: There were some small glasses of beer to sample at the entrance. Off the menu, I had a Caesar (good) and a Big Kid Lemonade. It tasted like China smelled a.k.a. something you do not want to drink. It certainly didn't taste at all like lemonade. Not what I was expecting. Disappointing as I love lemonade. Like I mentioned, our server was very, very friendly and smiley. Kudos to her. We had another lady coming around to check on us and she was professional. Maybe came by too often to clear plates but whatever, better than dirty. Craft has a few things going for it. Definitely a respectable selection of beers, spacious interiors and a great patio are the pluses. The staff are efficient and friendly. However, it was a Cask Night and nobody seemed to know whether there was going to be a special cask or not. That's okay though, because the staff were overall very courteous and friendly. I must say that having a very limited beer selection in the patio warrants a warning from the staff. If I'm at Craft, I'm there for beer. We were certainly excited to get a patio table the other day, but were really only there to drink good beer and perhaps enjoy some nice food. The farm fresh chicken and kale salad I had was pretty decent. Very tasty salad dressing, crunchy kale, delicious brussels sprouts and moist grilled chicken. The fish tacos we shared were only okay. The sauce was a minuscule amount (yes, there was a side of hot sauce) and so tasted mainly like cabbage. It did feel fresh and crunchy, but had the plain, boring taste of every-other-bar-restaurant-in-the-world. However, kudos on the salad. I'd go back when I'm craving a great beer but will not be going upstairs to the patio. I just don't know what I might miss in terms of beer by going up there. What a pleasure! Stopped in for lunch today. Admitedly, as it was Family Day, it may not have been as busy as usual. Downtown as a whole was very quiet. Regardless...our experience left us wanting more. Building is impressive. 2 levels inside and a roof top patio I imagine is quite a draw in warmer times. Atmosphere was great and tables are well space so that even when busy, you would have ample room. Staff were friendly and our server was fantastic, honest and helpfull. I had one mere glass if beer from the impressive offering of...well...craft beer. My wife indulged in a sampler consisting of 6 glasses. The food... We decided to share four appatizers to "make the most" of our experience. Fried Pickles were excellent and less greasy than others I have tried. Korean Satay lettuce wraps were also really good. A well delivered dish. Hawaiian Ahi Poke was our least favorite. Still good...but a lite too nuch sauce for my wifes liking. The most unique dish...Fast Food Sushi. Stopped in here after work for a bite to eat before catching a concert downtown. For a Thursday night (just after 5ish) it was very busy, but the helpful and friendly hostess found us a seat. The atmosphere is nice enough for a downtown venue - the usual airy space with wood fixtures. The food was pretty good - but considering the premium prices, I expected better. I guess this is the case when drinking/dining in the core - you're going to pay for the real estate. Burger was pedestrian - not great but not horrible. Beer sampler was tasty but a bit steep in price for what you get. The saving grace for this place was the aforementioned hostess - friendly and helpful. read more

CRAFT used to be my favorite place. Typically the food is good and the selection of drinks is unreal. Unfortunately my latest experience here was less than enjoyable. First off, the service was really slow even though there were empty seats! The lead time from when we ordered drinks to when received them was nearly 20 minutes. Since the drinks were taking so long, our group decided to order extra drinks each time so we wouldn't be waiting forever. The waiter had no problem with this. However, the waiter suddenly said 1 person couldn't order more than 1 shot even if they were giving the shot to someone else. The waiter admitted he had been over-serving liquor as per AGLCs rules all night but his manager was now around and he didn't want them to notice. This was very unprofessional. He tried to blame his lack of compliance on us. Additionally, the food did not live up the standards it usually does. The poutine was soggy. The flat bread was also soggy. It appears the food must have been sitting around for some time before being delivered to the table. For an organization operating in such a competitive marketplace, I expected an overall better experience. When you leave hungry cause your food wasn't the best and with a sour taste in your mouth from the sub-par service, it doesn't make you want to return. Hopefully CRAFT can step it up. read more

The food was really bland. I honestly thought it would be great, as I had heard good things, but it was so aggressively mediocre. Kind of put a damper on date night. We had nachos and sweet potato fries, both of which are kind of hard to fuck up in my opinion. The chips tasted like cardboard, with barely any toppings (for $20!!), and the fries were undercooked and served with chipotle dressing that somehow tasted like Caesar (it wasn't Caesar dressing..) Craft beer in the downtown core. First off, they have a lovely rooftop patio to enjoy. Then there is all the craft beer! They have a great selection of different beers with $4 beer specials on Sundays. Food wise, it's not my favourite. They have limited vegetarian options. Lately I have been for brunch the white cheddar and avocado benny is good, but I little too rich as we can never seem to finish it. The buttermilk biscuit along with cheddar cheese, avocado and hollandaise can be a bit heavy for brunch. There was a wine that began with the letter J, but we weren't sipping that night. The food was good. I went with the Bolognese pasta. Sauce was good, thick and rich in flavour. They served with Garlic bread of course. Some friends went with the brisket which looked very tender. Appetizer was the seafood dip with nacho chips. Seating wise we got lucky. We were seated by the open window so a nice breeze would hit us. Also got to see that talent walking in....LOL! The greeters were really nce, our waitress was good, the girl who was taking dishes away was not really sociable, but hey, everyone can have a bad day, right? Craft also has a roof open wth seats, if you get there at a good time, there may be open tables. Well rounded place, lots of tvs if you were watching sports, we were watching the really bad Eskimo vs Ottawa game, man, no touchdowns...makes me understood why I watched NFL games. Fruit flies all over and hair in food that's all there is to say very disappointing taste and not satisfying

My wife and I wanted to give this place a go because we have heard some good things about it. First, any business on Rice Howard Way is awesome, second they serve beer and third, love the look of the place from the street. I was blown away at the size of this place. Huuuuuuge! It reminded me of a pub you would find in downtown Denver or San Diego. It's quite a presence and I was imagining myself as a tourist and how I could spend all day there getting hammered and enjoying the amazing inventory of beers on tap. Ya I could do some damage there. On Sunday's they have 8 dollar appies so instead of getting entrees my wife and I gorged on a number of different appies. We got their cheeseburger sushi, chicken sliders, kale ceased salad, Baja tacos. It brought a tear to my eye that I could wash down all this food with a cold pint of Boddingtons.......*sniffle*.....my favourite beer on the planet. It was turning into a glorious Sunday afternoon. That was until we started eating. OMFG their food is great. The kale ceased salad was ALL kale. Unlike some other restaurant that mix romaine with a handful of kale. The dressing was packed with garlic and some fantastic zip. Then we got into the cheeseburger sushi. Holy Hanna it was good. I didn't know you could deconstruct a cheeseburger and wrap it in bacon to look like sushi rolls. Then we ate the chicken sliders. Very well balanced with taste and bun to meat ratio. The Baja Tacos were mediocre though. The portion size of fish was too small and it was lacking some flavour. I feel,they could have put some tartar sauce in the tacos and increased the amount of fish to make it better. But that wasn't going to sour the experience. Our server Charlotte was awesome. Great conversation, friendly, inviting and accommodating. I was grateful that she was our server. She really elevated our first experience. I cannot wait until we have a hockey team downtown and they start winning. Game nights here will be epic. In fact I even see summers being awesome at this place. Can't wait to come back. read more

My friends and I ventured out to Craft on a Sunday after 5 pm as we needed munchies and dinner post concert at the Winspear Center. I love that it's a 5 minute walking distance from Churchill Square which makes it convenient when you are in that area looking for food. We got a table for 6 right away with no wait. The place was busy but not overly packed like most nights. We were pleased to learn that pretty much all appies were on for special for $8 and more than half the beers on the menu were on for $5. We had a friend who was vegan and our server went above and beyond to inquire with her manager and the kitchen staff to make sure that even the oil to fry her fries is not contaminated with meat products. How awesome is she?!?!? It's hard to find exceptional service these days. I ordered the Korean turkey satay wraps and shared it with my friend. My friend ordered Yellow curry steamed mussels and we shared the two dishes. For $8 for each dish, it was great value. I am not sure if I would have paid $15 for my wrap though, it was tasty but not that tasty. Craft is a good place to grab grub when you just want a no fuss spot to accommodate a big group. Perhaps if you come here to drink you will be more impressed than I, who came to eat. I was in Canada for 24 hours and this spot was right outside my hotel. I longed for poutine and that's what I ordered. It was a sad and sorry excuse for the national dish and they appear to have subbed curds for mozz. I tried to forget about my visit to this place but the thing that sticks in my mind was the staff indifference to my complaints that the food was sub par. Craft is my landlady's favourite bar. I'm not complaining because she 1) always buys my beer and 2) she prefers to go on Monday nights, when things are fairly quiet. If you wanna go almost any other night of the week, you'll have to twist my arm, as the cavernous interior has nothing to absorb the hundreds of excited voices when they're near capacity. It's unfortunate because I really like Craft, but anyone who reads my reviews knows how much not being able to carry on a conversation will wreck my opinion of a place. The beer selection is great, but I find the servers unhelpful when it comes to selecting one. If you're feeling adventurous (or don't know what you're in the mood for), sit at the bar and chat with a bartender--they seem to have a much better sense of what's on tap and which ones you'll like based on your preferences. And while Scotch is not the libation of interest here, I have come across several servers who've told me they were out of a particular kind when I could see the half-full bottle sitting on the shelf behind the bar. If they look confused and then say they're out, don't believe them and ask a bartender. The food is solid, though I'm usually just stopping in for a pint or two late at night and haven't tried much on the menu. I intend to spend more time here this summer, when the rooftop patio I've yet to see is once again open for the season. read more

When a coworker tells you he wants to take you for lunch to apologize, you just do it. It doesn't matter if it's for sleeping with your mother or using the last piece of paper in the printer without refilling it. Apologies that involve food and alcohol are the best kind. There were three of us that day: the Apologizer, myself and the Other One. The Other One and I weren't really sure what was about to go down, but there was free food involved, so we didn't really care. We decided on Craft because it was close and we were thirsty. When we arrived, it was packed. That's what happens when it's noon on a Friday. Let's just say the Apologizer wasn't a planner. We put our names on a list, grabbed our mini alert system and made our way to the bar to be closer to the real reason we came: beer. A young bartender with dark, wavy locks like Ben Affleck and a young Mel Gibson before his anti-Semitic days, greeted us. I don't remember his name, so I'll call him Bel Gibsleck. Bel was super friendly, and patiently went through the trials and tribulations that come with having countless beers on tap. After 11 or so "What's that beer taste like," and a few samples, we let Bel free to deal with the turmoil of other indecisive customers. We waited for our apology, and our food. I had the lettuce wraps. I like lettuce. I like wrapping things. And I like those two together very much. The presentation was quite pretty, but the two ways of peppers confused me. Throughout lunch, Bel checked in on us and won over our hearts. We left happy, full and still unsure of the apology. What's the moral of this story? Anything you can wrap tastes better. Beer is good. You can try out new and unusual beers from across Canada and around the world and almost certainly find all the standards. Unfortunately the food is nothing better than average. Standard wings, flatbread, deep fried prawns. Typical bar food with nothing notable. We came in today after a corporate event with 40 people. We had prearranged a group reservation but they had a bit of a mix up and after 10 mins of confusion the manager opened up a private space for us in the mezzanine. I love having so many choices! TVs for everyone's viewing with the bar in the middle. I like how the beer kegs are visible when you go downstairs to use the washrooms. In between my friends' wedding ceremony and reception, we a large group of us was searching for a good brew and some food to tie us over until the cocktail hour. Unsuccessfully trying the Taste of Edmonton and a closed Mexican restaurant, we ended up at Craft Beer market. It was packed and people were waiting to be seated, no space available on the patio. We were a party of 15 people. The hostess told us their larger table was reserved for a party in two hours--they ended up giving us the table and asking us to turn it back over in 1.5 hours, no problem. Why would it take it so long? We figured out shortly, the service was slow so I could see why we could be there for more than two hours. I had the Ahi Poke add avocado and togarashi aioli. Its raw tuna with cucumber, ginger, garlic and sesame soya vinaigrette topped with crispy wontons--it thought it was pretty standard ahi poke and the spicy togarashi aioli made it stood out a little. I had a couple bites of my friend's Yucatan Chicken salad which had chicken breast, mixed greens, fire-roasted corn, pico de gallo, avocado, roasted red pepper, black beans, shredded cheddar, crisp tortilla, chili lime dressing...almost like a burrito bowl. I think I liked that better than my tuna. Food was slightly better than pub quality. They had a big selection of beers, I ended up getting the Lemon Hefenweizen. It was light and refreshing. This was my first visit here. It is a favourite spot for one of my friends. We came in at a really busy time. The place was packed. So there was a bit of confusion to get us seated. We were suggested to grab a seat at the bar and as soon as we see a table leave grab it. As the hostess walked us to the bar a spot had opened. The hostess quickly cleaned to table and as we sat another came by to tell us it was reserved. By then a manager came by and said he would find us a table. Another table was found for us in a few mins. Next time I will try to make a reservation. The tables were high and small. Not the best for our shorter friend. They do have nice booths, but all full. So I would also request a booth when making a reservation. The menu selection was ok. I wasn't really drawn to much. I ordered the steak and fries. Steak was cooked correctly. I enjoyed it. Prices were a little high but a lot of items are sourced locally and made in house. The main focus is beer here and again prices are little high for those as well. There was a impressive selection of beers. So in all I am indifferent to this place. It was decent but I was not wowed. I will give them another try in the future. read more

Beers: I am a fan of beers especially international once. This is really great place to hangout so I go here often with friends and colleagues. Service: Their Service is alright, it depends on who is the Server. One time we had this European Server, she was really nice and knowledgeable of the customer needs. On Sunday, April 19, 2015, our Server was rushing us out, which we did't like it. We didn't even finish our food and she brought us a bill. I was very surprised by the service. It seem like she didn't care. I told her my Veg Sandwich isn't good, she replied "oh well sorry". The only time she spoke or seem little interested when we were playing our bills, she asked "Do you guys have any plans for tonight", that's it. Music: I love Music but their music is so loud that it's hard to have a conversation with other people. Food: I really think they need to include more items in their menu because options are very less. I do not understand why they are changing their food i.e. they used different fish for their fish tacos before (I think it was Basa) and they changed their Veg sandwich too. CRAFT is known for beer. Pure and simple. The restaurant has over 100 beers on tap and regularly hold beer-related events, such as Cask Night and Beer Pairing Dinners. What a lot of people may not know, however, is that they also serve wine on tap and have a menu filled with options made from local produce. Let's face it: CRAFT isn't the first (nor will it be the last) restaurant to latch onto the 'eat local' trend. It's become less of a novelty these days, so the kitchen at CRAFT will need to pull off something unique and spectacular to make the food stand out above the rest. There a few exciting and unique items on the CRAFT menu: the Gaucho Chicken Flatbread, the Butternut Squash Ravioli, the Hawaiian Ahi Poke. But, as expected from a gastropub, there are the usual favourites - the drinking companions - such as wings, steak, mac and cheese, and bacon and blue cheese burgers. Not very exciting, but they're not bad. From what we experienced, the food was OK, but the various kinds of beer are the restaurant's main selling point. I admit, I'll have to try some of the more unique items on the menu before completely judging CRAFT's food, but that's where it stands at the moment. Visit CRAFT for an after work drink; it's a beautiful space with some really interesting interior design touches, and the bathrooms are stunning. CRAFT isn't a steakhouse or a fine dining restaurant and it's bound to serve things that you'd get in your everyday pub, bar, or gastropub. Give their unique menu items a shot, though, and you might just find a glimmer of CRAFT's food innovation. read more

We had a Yelp dinner and a movie night here, and overall it was great. Our server was fast and attentive, the management came by to see how everything was going, and we had a great table waiting for us, right on time, while they were busy. We had the nachos, which were good, but get extra points for being served on the cut off top of a keg, pizzas, also good (I can't remember what kinds we had), and charcuterie, which was great. I won't list out the contents, but it was three meats, three cheeses, bread, olives, and more. I drank an Alley Kat, but these guys get major points for selection. Absolutely dreadful service. We had an reservation for 7 people for lunch time on a Saturday. When we got there, we immediately noticed that there was a lineup of people waiting outside - which makes sense since we were part of an event with 450 people over at the Convention Centre. We were seated quickly, however after that we waited over 45 mins just to get water at our table. Our server didn't even come over to take our orders until we'd been sitting for 45 minutes. At no point in time did our server or a manager come over to check on us or explain anything. They might have been "swamped" "slammed" unexpectedly but that is no excuse for the poor communication and terrible service - no apology made by the server or manager. Upon making our displeasure known, we were met with "well what you like us to do. The kitchen is swamped" An hour and a half later, as we made to decision to walk out, I approached a manager to inform them - I was told that they had comped our table. How does that help us, if we're walking out?? Lucky for us, we had one person willing to stay back to get our food to go - which arrived over 2 hours after we were seated. On top of that, there were clear errors in our food. My dish was supposed to have grilled avocado - there was none to be found. Another person ordered a side salad, but was given fries. There were several other tables and patrons who were also in the same position. Many walked out as well, all clearly disgruntled and hungry. While I cannot fault the restaurant for the unexpected rush, or for being swamped - I can fault them for their lack of concern for the time of others, lack of empathy for their patron's discomfort, or their lack of professional communication. A preemptive sorrow for the inconvenience would have gone a long way. Will absolutely never ever return to this place ever!! Nor would recommend this establishment. read more

This place is awesome I love coming here the service is outstanding. I had a girl named Lauren beautiful and just out right nice!!!! She was on top of everything did t have to wait for my drinks service on point!! Place is so nice n awsome beers and food! Must come read more
