What a chill place Craft and Carry Chelsea is. Staff are all very helpful and down to earth. There are plenty of seating inside and some outdoors. They have bar seating avail too. Come here with friends or even just alone to try a new to you beer or enjoy your favorite one. They have sometimes special events like beer tastings and they also have a trivia night. In the back there is a skeeball machine which adds more fun to this place. Music was great here too. There are many Craft and Carry's around NYC so enjoy one that is near you. read more

Interesting little outpost of an NYC craft beer mini-chain--I had never experienced one before, so new to me, but gauging there are a few others from their menu and website. Fine beer selection both insofar as about 20 tap options, as well as robust can and bottle options for takeaway. Interior is cool--narrow, but a nice bar area. Obviously interior is not an option now, and they have a solid little outdoor seating and dining area (this block of 7th has several restaurants, so it felt a tiny bit cramped on a nice summer evening, but what can you do these days). Not actually a spot to stop for an actual meal, but rather just to grab a small, decent $1 cup of chili and/or bag of chips if you want to be entitled to a COVID outdoor seat rather than just a drink/provisions to go. I found the draft prices a tad high (generally $11-$12), but the options were high quality and skewed local (e.g., Transmitter, Grimm). I tried a Transmitter Rice Saison that was quite tasty. I can't deny that my initial reaction is that it feels a tad redundant with the exemplary Beer Run right around the corner, but what the heck--the more beer, the merrier--right? read more

Craft + Carry was GREAT for happy hour after tiring walks. We were exhausted and were down for anything alcohol related and decided to stop by for some craft beers. I ordered a sour at first and realized they offered FLIGHTS for $16?!?! I immediately scarfed my first beer down and ordered the flight. By then, the patio seating cleared up and our entire party of 15 was able to sit at the patio. It was amazing weather with amazing company.. plus the beers tasted great. Very refreshing. They also have a wide selection of canned beers if none of the drafts appeal to you. For the flight, I got the Thin Man, Finback, Rushing Duck & Hipster Brunch. They were all solid and I think they rotate on their drafts. Definitely a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of walking. read more

There are pros and cons to this place for sure. I've walked by here probably close to a million times and had yet been to any of the Craft & Carry locations. There are numerous in the city now. But I was in a 'mood'. Like if you look at me the wrong way I might blow up mood right before the holidays in December so I came in here finally on my own to check it out. They have a phenomenal beer selection as you would assume with having some kind of claim of over 500 craft beers. About 16 on tap and then a number of cans and bottles in the fridge. The downside to all of this is that it's way over-priced. I thought the other craft beer spot around the block was expensive, this even trumps that by a dollar or two. Any can you pick out is going to have a $2 corking fee. Which still to this day I think is a rip off with bars. It's not like you're uncorking my can by lifting the tab and offering me a glass. But this will never change. All of the beers were $10 on tap, which I get. At least it's craft and not just Goose Island or Miller. They have a happy hour of I think a dollar off. Not sure when it ends but I assume 7pmish. They have chips and that's about it for food. Major brownie points: free ski ball (that I have yet to check out and have to come back) and trivia once a week. I ended up finally settling on the Lough Gill Mac Nutty Macadamia Nut Brown Ale. It surprisingly wasn't anything to write home about (especially for again a $10 can/although it was pretty much a 16oz glass) but I really was searching for something I've absolutely never heard of brewery wise. Would come back but it's kind of like have one or two specialty beers or buy a beer to go kind of spot. read more

Just recently opened around July/August 2020. Great outdoor seating but currently not heated but well shielded from the street, feels safe. The decor is very trendy and done right. I would say at least 12+ beers on draft and 100's of options for take out. A lot of local options which I like. The people working are always friendly. read more

The other day while walking home from shopping I passed this bar and decided since it was so hot a cold pint would be an order. I'm an older dude that is used to being an outlier in most Chelsea bars. However, I was made unwelcome and clearly unwanted. I am nearly blind and was unable to read the electronic menu when I entered from a sunny outside. When I asked for a hard copy menu they pointed to an OCR code on the counter. I am a technological dinosaur with bad eyes who only uses a cell phone for a quick text or an emergency phone call. If my life depended on it I could certainly download the app and figure out the OCR code, but why should I ? Shooting a business make a slight attempt to service a customer who has money burning a hole in his pocket? This lack of a menu and having everything on in OCR app has cost the patronage of several other bars in the neighborhood. If you are aging with the visual problem then this place is not for you. I wonder what other kinds of people they place no value on? read more
