It's actually sad that I hope this restaurant goes out of business now for ripping people off. The food was very good and the service was exceptional. BUT $24 for a small margarita!? C'mon. Like my wife, I ordered the seasonal margarita but I asked if they could use a gold (signals not high-end) or reposada tequila instead of the jalapeño silver tequila. He said no problem, he had a reposada. C'mon...you up charge 50% for that??? A $16 margarita became $24 and I ordered two. Or why was the $6 randomly thrown on the two $21 reposada margaritas??? Can I get my shots of silver tequila then too that you seem to be charging for?? Ha. And $8 for a greasy little thin dog burger...fine, not the end of world, but we would have gotten him a chicken breast for same price. We had two chicken salads and 4 margaritas. My husband and I planned our wedding reception dinner at Craft House and it was everything we could have dreamed of! The back covered patio was the perfect space for dinner, drinks, and dancing! From beginning to end, every aspect was on point! The name "Craft House" led me to believe it was known for its craft beers, but they're actually known for their huge selection of whiskey. There is outdoor dining available on the front patio and a large tent setup out back for dining. Service 5/5 Impeccable! Hostesses, bar tenders, and servers all greet you with a smile and great attitude. Servers are quick, and make great recommendations. We were helped by Brendan, and he was totally awesome with drink and food recommendations. He even gave a piece of bacon to my dog, so cool. Food 5/5 Brendan recommended the avocado toast, saying it was incredible and the best he's had, and he sure wasn't lying! It is so delicious. The avocado is super fresh and has a lime flavor to it, but it's not overpowering. The breakfast potatoes are cooked and seasoned to perfection. He also recommended the breakfast burrito, and to order a side of guacamole, great tip. The chorizo tasted light (for chorizo) and went well with the potatoes in the burrito. Chocolate mousse, was super yummy, but definitely tasted more like pudding than mousse. It was on the dinner menu, but we were lucky the were able to make it for brunch, chocoholic right here lol. Cocktails 5/5 "Kook of the day" was refreshing and light, definitely got the cucumber taste in this one. Have to get some whiskey at the whiskey spot, so I ordered the Craft House old fashioned, it was delicious! They definitely do it right, you taste the smokiness. Beers were good too. Ambiance/decor 5/5 Crafty type of decor, lots of wood. A lot of bottles displayed. Front patio is great with ample seating, very chill vibe. Overall it was good, but nothing standout. The service was great, not rushing, very pleasant. The place is small but very welcoming. We started on the patio but the noise from PCH had us asking for a table inside in less than a minute. The food ranged from great to almost sending it back. The cocktails were very good. Street corn and salt and pepper shrimp were great. Potato tacos.... Not as memorable. Sea scallops and lemon risotto... the scallops were a little chewy, like 30 seconds overcooked, and the lemon risotto was more tomato than lemon. The halibut was overcooked to the point of being dry. I considered sending it back but we were close enough to full that it wasn't worth it. The butter cake was also very good. Overall, we had a very nice unhurried date night but it was otherwise nothing to write home about. read more

Just moved to Dana point three weeks ago and have done a decent amount of exploring and checking places out - this takes the cake so far by a considerable margin. Feel like there's a lot of places here that skirt by because of the location and kind of a cool floor plan/overall vibe (which this place obviously has) and ignores the important stuff - genuinely quality food, but can definitely say this place gets it. Small menu but everything we got was super well done and made with care - for appetizers we got the peppers and the tuna rice which were both great. My mom got the shrimp pasta which was super flavorful and I got the burger which was a genuinely quality restaurant style burger. Sophia was our server and she was very sweet, bubbly and attentive. Will definitely be back and will tell my friends about it as well - great job from top to bottom, you guys are killing it! read more

Food was incredible. I like basically the whole menu but top highlight is the fried chicken and also the spicy tuna crispy rice. It is as good as if you got it at a sushi place. They have great creative drinks. I ordered one drink and didn't like it, but I felt I didn't choose well - nothing was wrong with the drink. So I ordered a second one. Tried to update, at the end of the day, they want you in and out. Had I known they want to turn tables and mind you, we were there a while, but we kept ordering and moved to the bar. They just wanted us out for no reason that we could see. We'd been there in the past, had far less to drink when they kicked us out than we have ever had. Though the parking lot was small and we weren't able to find a space, there is a road right behind the restaurant where there is a lot of parking and there is a small flight of stairs to easily get back to the restaurant from that street. Our waitress was really nice and gave great recommendations! We ordered Kate's and Nate's old fashion for cocktails which were strong! The price for each was about $16. For an appetizer, we ordered the spica tuna crispy rice ($18). So yummy! Sad it was only 5 pieces though. The appetizers are so delicious we had the egg rolls and ahi rice cakes...also Cauliflower with Tahini sauce! My favorite. Met up here for lunch on a Sunday around 130. I hadn't done my research and realized when we got there that they only had brunch menu. We were able to find something that we could eat. Husband had their burger and mother in law burrata salad with grilled chicken. I ordered the avocado toast with scrambled egg and a side of fresh fruit. The fruits were indeed very fresh and I liked my avocado toast. We were seated in the front patio and it was very hard to talk because of the traffic on PCH. Everything was just average. read more

I wish I could give Craft House a higher rating as the restaurant is cute and the $15 bottomless mimosas are a great deal but my French toast left a lot to be desired. It was dry and bland and desperately needed more of the fruit compote, which I couldn't even tell if it was apple or peach because there was so little of it. In hindsight, I wish I would have chosen a better brunch entree. We were also disappointed to learn that they were out of the guava juice so we only had the choice of orange, grapefruit and pineapple to accompany our champagne. I chose the pineapple but I would have liked to mix it up with some guava too. The waiter did a great job of keeping a chilled bottle on our table though. Great for every meal! Craft House has always been one of my favorite local places to grab dinner. The cocktails and fried chicken are some of the best around! Potato tacos, scallops, birria egg rolls, spicy tuna crispy rice, and butter cake are also worth a mention! Today was the first time we came for brunch. I really wish we had come sooner! The brunch menu has everything you could ask for. A variety of dishes, plenty of drink options, and very reasonable prices. $60 bottle of Veuve Cliquot can't be beat! We walked in around 1pm with a party of 4 (Sunday of 4th of July weekend) and were seated immediately. Service was great, the rest of the restaurant was buzzing with good Sunday brunch energy (people cheering from the bar area, dining area was pretty full, everyone enjoying their conversations and food. The outside dining area is quite loud as it backs to PCH, but again, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves). Both day and night the ambiance is trendy, yet welcoming. I've been with and without kids and feel equally welcome. Now that we had such a great experience with brunch I'm curious to come back for social hour. The menu looks great.
