I'm a regular here! Sina & Vika are always pleasant and always provide amazing service. Great neighborhood watering hole. Food is always good and the menu is priced very reasonably for the area. Love karaoke nights, late night apps or just coming here to unwind after a long day! All around positive vibes and welcoming staff! I highly recommend!

We came here after seeing it while walking around the area. The place was basically empty Thursday for lunch at noon. The bartender came over to get us settled with waters but didn't come back again for quite a while to order. I'd say the wait time for food was average, and the bartender was very nice. The music playing was great and at perfect volume for us to have a conversation and enjoy. I got a CYO burger, every add on was 50 cents (which the menu does NOT specify and the waiter did NOT mention) and my husband got the sliders. Both orders with fries. I also ordered a side of mayo because the burger was dry without cheese, that was 25 cents (which also was not mentioned). Overall, we were in and out in a little less than an hour, but likely will not come back since everything was pretty bland.

Great late night menu and a large variety of drinks! The wings are large, sliders are excellent, and everything is really great quality. Nice selection of craft beers and canned cocktails as well as beers on draft. Karaoke is every Wednesday night from 9pm-1am. Great Happy Hour specials and regular menu as well. The place is clean. The staff is friendly, and we really must shout out to THE BEST bartender / server, Arnold! Large free parking lot. Room for about 80-100 people plus an outdoor patio. While it's family friendly, I really wished that they closed the place off to adults only after 9pm. Lots of teens make the karaoke list long.

This place was a pretty great vibe. The food was awesome. I ordered a burger and the loaded tots. You get a great portion and the tots were good!

Gray bar and restaurant. Amazing atmosphere. Server Jay was a great and was very attentive and served us great food for a great price. Definitely will be coming again. I would put 6 stars if I could just based on the service... the food was a plus‼

The nachos were good! The margarita was good but could have been better! It was not super sweet which threw me off a bit! The service was really good! Waiter was attentive! The ambiance is a sit down restaraunt with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! :) They apparently have trivia and karokee too I will have to come back for

We stopped by Crafthouse while out for an activity in Fairfax. Crafthouse is an all American bar and restaurant. When we arrived there were quite a few work parties at many of the long tables inside. They have the QR code menus, which made it easy for us to look over the food before our server arrived. Order was placed quick and we received our drinks very quickly. The happy hour Moscow mule was excellent for the price. We got the Crafthouse burger and happy hour nachos. I thought the nachos would be good but was a bit disappointed. Everything on the plate seemed a bit wet. The Crafthouse burger and fries however were excellent.

Came with a group of friends to do trivia and had a lot of fun. It's pretty easy to hear the announcer even though it's loud, and the game progresses at a good pace- not too fast, not too slow, so you have time to think. In terms of food, fairly standard bar food here, a little overpriced in my opinion but it was pretty good. I got the Crafthouse Burger, and I will say the peanut butter, bacon, fried egg, and thousand island dressing combo was surprisingly good. My girlfriends Crafthouse (grilled) Chicken Sandwich was good as well. And if you're a fan of onions, get the Vidalia onion it's so tasty. Overall, food was good, trivia was fun, service was attentive- would come back!

Delicious Taiwanese sausage with sticky rice 大腸包小腸; very authentic 鐵板牛排 steak on a sizzling plate; tried their hot pot 小火鍋 for the first time which is nice on a cold evening. They offer Taiwanese popcorn chicken with basil leaves, 鹽酥雞, very good. Various bento boxes such as 滷肉飯, all very authentic. Food was good; ambiance was homey as usual. But the service (a sole waitress) was not welcoming. She just wanted to get us out of here. No smile either. Many items are already out (they probably do not restock, seeing that they are wrapping up anyway). Location is of course off the grid with no real public transportation. We got some takeout as well; beautifully packaged and presented takeout bento boxes (see my photo). For dining in, the bento box is also beautifully presented. However, for whatever reason, popcorn chicken and appetizers all came in paper boxes rather than on plates even for dining in. That takes a bit of the special feeling away.

To be fair, Momo's Cafe is a bit out of the way and hard to get to (for us, we have to drive through Georgetown on M Street), but it's worth it! TAIWANESE POPCORN CHICKEN - 8.95 The chicken was salted and peppered perfectly, crispy but not overly so. The chicken itself was juicy and tender. This really hit on a rainy day, and I could hardly focus on the conversation with my friend because I was pre-occupied eating the chicken. I could not ask for a better Taiwanese popcorn chicken. BRAISED PORK BENTO - 11.50 This bento came with a lot of food, where 25% of it was braised pork over white rice. There were some sides like sauteed napa cabbage, a bit of pickled vegetables, steamed corn, and an odd assortment of Chinese sausage, fried tofu, and half a tea egg. Everything was good. The braised pork was fatty and juicy, and the sauce was a bit milder than I'd expect, but still flavorful. The sides were all homey and not too over-the-top, which was what I wanted. The corn was cooked with butter and clearly came from a can, but it hit home because that's how my grandma used to cook for me. So I'm not sure if anyone else would like the corn this way, but I did for nostalgia reasons. Also, the prices are actually reasonable?? I wish it was easier to get to Momo's Cafe from where I live -- I'd actually stop by quite often if that was the case. The food is homey and delicious, I'd definitely recommend it!

The tater tots were barely cooked and definitely not crispy (more steamed than anything, so much so that quite a bit of condensation had built up in the container). If there was any of the miso ranch, it must have evaporated in the container. The crag rangoon was missing from my order but was on the receipt (DoorDash was able to refund). The buns were pretty good. The pork belly was my favorite, with bulgogi taking 2nd and tofu coming in last. The pork belly was a nice balance of sweet and spicy, while the bulgogi had a bit too much sauce vs bulgogi meat (more tiny bits of meat). The tofu was pretty 'meh', it was a nice chunk of tofu but even the sauce didn't make it memorable. With the size of the buns, definitely take advantage of the 'happy hour' discount. If I ordered again, I'd probably just go for the pork belly.

In my first visit to Maketto, I came for their dim sum lunch on the weekend, and even though I had high expectations coming in, it met my every desire. We started with the pork steamed bao, and man it didn't disappoint. With a hoisin sauce spread on the plate and plenty of hoisin sauce flavoring the pork, this homemade beauty was my favorite of the lot. Having eaten so many bao buns in my past, this one stood out among many I've eaten across Asia. We also ordered the Xaio Long Bao, the Cambodian Noodle Soup, and the Rice Roll with Shrimp. The star of these was the Rice Roll w/shrimp. The shrimp was excellent, the Rice Roll itself was perfect and the toppings and sauce made me want to order more. The Cambodian Noodle Soup was great as well. True to form, we had it with the chicken and it was a perfect encapsulation of the Cambodian soups that I so loved when visiting. Service was good, but most importantly the food came out piping hot. A must with this style of cuisine. The only exception was the Xaio Long Bao, but that could have been due to the sauce cooling the dumplings. As for ambiance, it is a unique model as it is a coffee shop before 11, and then a restaurant and coffee shop after 11. We came around 11:30 and it was in between selling out of all their pop-up pastries and ramping up the kitchen. I will be back, many times indeed.

First things first did you know that Maketto has been around for 11 years! That's amazing, especially for a small business. And I fully understand why, because this place is a gem. Maketto is a Cambodian, Taiwanese blend restaurant that is surprisingly open from 9 am- 10 pm most days. I love the vibes, the exposed brick, the food, drinks, and the bartender was super friendly. So my friend was telling me that the restaurant used to be half retail store and half restaurant. I'm sure I would've wanted to come in here just to browse all the time because they're definitely trendy and in tune with the culture. Now to my experience. I tried their fried chicken wings and the lo mein. Both are medium plates and large portions. Between my friend and I we were stuffed at the end of dinner and still took some food to-go. All of their dishes come family style and they are not skimping you with the portions. The food was all fresh and soooo flavorful! Kudos to chef Erik, who also owns/created Providencia up the street. I'm so excited to come back to try more because everything sounds delicious. One little word of advice is to check if the restaurant has a private event booked before heading over. I recently tried to go for an early dinner on a Saturday and there was a wedding getting ready to happen. BRAVOOO Maketto, I will be supporting frequently :)

I had sooo many meals from here since I went to UMD. When I crave for rice dish or a cozy beef noodles soup, I always go to this spot. Honestly, it's not up to par as to Taiwanese restaurants in Rockville, but it's also not mediocre and it's quite good value for the price. One thing I have to give it a solid 4/4.5 is the popcorn chickens and fried snacks, it's huge in portion and taste very close to actual Taiwan flavor. It always comes out piping hot and juicy. Very satisfying. On the other hand the drinks are meh, I'd rather walk a little further for other brand's boba milk teas. It's more of a food cafe than for drinks. I would recommend for students and staffs at UMD, but I won't go there if I have to purposely drive to this place. I believe there's better somewhere else but it's very convenient and solid lunch for UMD. (UMD don't really have too much Taiwanese food options, this is about it)

It's usually packed with Asian folks who come for A&J's dim sum-style food. The food is described as "Northern style" Chinese, and it's definitely not Americanized. I've also enjoyed Ma La Er Si (sliced pigs ears with hot and spicy seasoning) and Pi Dan Dou Fu (tofu with Thousand Year Egg) - things I doubt will EVER show up on a menu in my hometown. And the dumplings: oh my. I think I've tried them all, and haven't found one yet I wouldn't order again. The only downside to A&J (besides it being a drive for me) is their cash-only policy. I have kept this place in the back of my mind, with fond memories, however, have not visited in some years due to multiple moves around the country. Recently, my friend was organizing a casual gathering for our friend group, and asked ChatGPT if there were any good recommendations for food in the area that was affordable and delicious, and A&J came up as a top choice. So I came back to A&J after almost 10 years, and the food was just as good as I remembered. The decor remained simple and unchanged, but this is very typical of Asian restaurants. The menu was large, and it's easy to order by circling items you want on the paper menu. We had a mix of noodle soup bowls (so many different flavors and styles) and appetizers, and everything we tried was delicious. Our bill came out to less than $25 per person with tip. I could imagine more pretentious Chinese restaurants downtown upcharging a lot more for lower quality Chinese food (Queen's English, for example). It was so good and affordable, that I actually ended up coming back the next day with a different friend. Overall, excellent experience, and I will be back again soon! One interesting tidbit, my coworker who grew up in the Midwest and only eats meat, potatoes, absolutely no vegetables, started going here for lunch and loves it. I think flour-based items (noodles, dumplings, buns) are really the star of the restaurant, and this can be enjoyed across different taste palates! I hope you will give this place a try.
