I have not frequented this establishment. I found out about it through their obnoxious marketing. Despite a no soliciting sign on my property, these ppl left THREE flyers (garage, front door, and front windshield) I had to pay $20 for a car wash. Local joint with really good seafood options. Price was on point as well. My guest and I weren't sure what to get but our server was very helpful and gave us great tips. I went with the bisque and fish tacos. The tacos were good...but dang, that bisque stole the show. The location isn't anything fancy but the service was good. I came on a busy Friday night but my server found an extra chair for me to sit at one of the bar tables. I always go here and hope it's going to be better than the last time. We went a total of three times. The first time was early in the year and we were told there were no fresh oysters. It was the whole reason we went to this restaurant. However, we have fried oysters and two of the specials that day, which I believe were haddock and something else. They were fantastic. So we decided to go back. Then we came back with others and waited 45 minutes for a table and then spent about 30 min ordering (it felt like we were an after-thought) , and another 30-45 min to get our food, which was sub par to say the least. My husband got the the rockfish I believe, and he thought the dish was unpleasantly fishy. Our other guests disliked his food. I got shrimp scampi, and I loved it. However, our drinks were never refilled. After 15 minutes we were ready to leave and it took us yet another 30 to get our check and actually exit. In total, it was a nightmare. The third time we went in we were told it would be a 45 minute wait and so we left. I doubt we'll ever be back. Which is a shame. read more

I have been to this restaurant several times and there are so many positive things about it, but I have to comment on their version of crab cakes. They are awful!!! While staying in the Solomons area, we decided to make the drive to The Foxy Fish to get some fresh seafood. I ordered crabs which were nice size and absolutely delicious. My husband got the seafood platter. Review of platter: Fried oysters GREAT!! Fried shrimp were lightly breaded and seasoned well. Fried fish and scallops were OK. The crab cake was AWFUL!!! Basically it was a bread cake with a tiny bits of crab meat in it. I must say, this is the third time I've encountered this horrible so-called crab cake, but I didn't write a review. In fact, the first time I went to the restaurant I was with someone who referred the restaurant to me. When we got back to our vacation rental, we all commented how awful the crabcakes were. The young lady who referred the Foxy Fish to us apologized because she said in the past, they had been much better I could not let another day go by without informing the owners that they need to give us what we are paying for. You expect a true crabcake and not a bread cake. FYI, that I will continue to go to the Foxy Fish because they have so many positive things going for them. I was in Foxy Fish on Saturday November 4, 2023 and purchased crab dip and haddock fish bites entrée so I didn't eat the crab dip until the fifth on Sunday and it was too salty. When calling the restaurant back Theresa said because I didn't eat the crab dip until the next day and that is why it was salty who ever heard of such, because you don't eat the food the day that you purchased it it is going to be salty the next day I've never heard of such. I would not be going back. I've purchased crab dip before at Jerry's Place in Prince Frederick Maryland, and have never had any problem. Jerry knows how to treat his customers. This place really let me down today. I ordered: *cup of cream of crab soup. The cup was $7 and didn't have much crab. The crab that it did have, was still stuck to the bone so the soup was 'crunchy' when it should not have been. It was also under seasoned and very thick. *bang bang shrimp with pasta. they must be making a killing on this, because it was probably 6 shrimp, fried and chopped up to look like more than 6 shrimp over a bed of pasta with sauce. Nothing else. The sauce is pretty good, I wouldn't call it spicy though and the dish is NOT worth $20. It does come with a free side, I opted for the cole slaw, which was serviceable. This was my first time eating Maryland crabs with my s/o and we hoped that it would be a perfect experience. Unfortunately, even though we came fairly early for dinner (I'm talking around 5), there was still a crazy wait. I didn't feel as though the host at the front was too approachable? We ended up getting a table outside, which was alright, but I didn't feel like there was enough room, and we kept having flies come around our food. Another downside to eating outside. The table is also next to where people wait, so it just felt weird for us. We ended up getting the appetizer platter which was pretty good! I really enjoyed the hush puppies and my s/o liked most of what was on that plate. We were total amateurs when it came to cutting the crabs open, but had a fun first experience. Our server was also pretty good. The only downside to our server was that she took a while to come out with our check. Another pet peeve of mine. Maybe if we were seated inside with everyone else, we wouldn't have felt forgotten?! I don't know. Came here and had the broiled seafood platter( shrimp scallops fish and crabcake). Here is the problem, the food was very bland aside from the crabcake which was decent. But the rest of the food tasted like it was thrown in a skillet with water and salt and that's it. Even the hushpuppies tasted like oil and were too hard. It's not that difficult to make this dish outstanding with just a little bit of effort and a pinch of creativity. My teenage kids can cook way better than this. I dine not just to simply get full, but also to enjoy flavors and satisfy my taste buds. The Foxy Fish is a seafood restaurant owned by Debbie and David Buckler. The menu is quite extensive, offering various appetizers (such as mozarella sticks, chicken wings, rockfish bites, etc.), salads, sandwiches, subs, fried seafood baskets, steamed seafood, entrees (such as scallops, broiled platters, crab cakes, etc.), and desserts. They also have beer and wine available. The hubs and I came to check this place out for lunch, and started off with: Crab Truffles (lump crab meat with cheddar cheese, cream cheese, jalapenos, and panko bread crumbs, deep-fried and served with a side of remoulade sauce; definitely a heavier app, but it was pretty tasty with the generous amount of crab meat with a cheesy goodness); Bang Bang Shrimp (crispy fried shrimp tossed in the house's homemade creamy spicy sauce; this was literally one of my favorite apps of all time! The shrimp was large in size, perfectly battered and fried, and the spicy creamy sauce was just MONEY! Definitely a licking-the-plate type of a starter!); Hot Crab Dip (hot crab meat with cream cheese, topped with cheddar; served with toasted baguettes; this was just okay, as it was slightly bland; also, the toasted baguettes could have been more toasted and more crisp); and, Rockfish Bites (only when in season; these small bites of rockfish were covered with a homemade beer batter and fried; I wish the rockfish was somewhat seasoned (may be with salt) before being battered up). For our main entrees, we ordered: the Fried Shrimp (lightly breaded and deep-fried; same shrimp style used in Bang Bang Shrimp, this wasn't needed, as I preferred it with the spicy sauce!); Steamed Shrimp (had a nice Chesapeake Bay seasoning on them; these were of a nice size and perfectly steamed); a Crab Cake Platter (2 jumbo lump crabcakes; with your choice of having them broiled or fried; I recommend them having broiled, as it has a nice crisp top and you get to taste all of the grab! These were super tasty!); and fried scallops. Don't forget to get Hush Puppies as your side, as these come from a sweet southern recipe and served with a delicious cup of honey butter - perfectly fried and a yummy complement to your meal! We also got corn on the cob, too. We were stuffed, but we couldn't pass up on their housemade gigantic cupcakes (they also have sundaes and pie, too!)! I saw the little table by the hostess stand, where it had some of their cupcakes and the different flavors that they offered. I chose the Strawberry, the Apple Pie, and the Blueberry - oh boy, these were one of the best cupcakes I've had - super moist, and it definitely tasted like the flavors that they were labeled as! Our server, Ms. Michele, was super welcoming, sweet, and attentive! She checked up on us often and made sure we had everything. The restaurant itself is super cute, and I loved how they decorated the restaurant - the window and the wall decor!
