Beautiful ambiance at Crate wine and bar.

All I can say is sleek, urban and trendy with a slice of umm ummm good! If you need to wind down after happy hour or simply find a intimate place to kick back and relax "The Crate" has it. You have to try the strawberry salad and the wine selection is tremendous. The owner "gets it" folks. There's no place in the area like it. From hosting events and more. Just know you have to take a stroll under the lights in downtown Greer and come on in to "The Crate" and be celebrated and appreciated the way you deserve it. They serve it because your deserving. But don't take my word for it, I'll see ya soon!

After an exhausting day of travel for a business trip, I arrived to my hotel around 9 pm and didn't want to eat fast food. I searched for a place to have a plate and possibly maybe even a drink. At that point I jumped on my phone and did a quick search. One of the first places to pop up was Crate Restaurant & Wine Bar and the menu looked perfect. There wasn't one thing on it that I wouldn't want to try, plus.. they didn't close until 11pm. I drove over, parked my car, and was immediately mesmerized. What an adorable little town! Walked into the restaurant (which was full of music and laughter). It was a Tuesday. So, they had karaoke (go on a Tuesday) I was greeted immediately. I ordered lobster sliders and the first glass of wine I saw on the menu. Everything was perfect. The sliders were excellent and exactly what I needed. Perfect portion sizes and had the best flavor. I ended up staying until they closed and meeting the most incredible people. Everyone was so friendly. You can tell their staff puts their heart into everything they do. Not only that but everything was so reasonably priced. This restaurant is such a gem and has the most beautiful souls within it. If you have the chance, check them out. You won't regret it. I can't wait to go back for more. Food 5/5 Drink 5/5 Experience 5/5 Staff 10/5

My husband & I have never eaten in downtown Greer. We were in the area & decided to check it out. We were walking on Trade St. headed to a Mexican restaurant that had great reviews & passed this gem on the way there. We stopped in, checked out the menu & decided to stay. It was fantastic! I had honey glazed salmon with mango salsa on top & my husband had shrimp & grits. Both were delicious! I also tried the Crate Martini which was made of dusse, peach schnapps, grand mariner, & lime juice...Fantastic! They also have karaoke on Tuesday nights, comedy acts on the weekend, & 1/2 price drinks Tuesday-Friday from 4:00-6:00. Best kept secret in Greer!

Hands down the best place I've been in Greer, SC. My girlfriend and I are originally from Maryland and are down here for a wedding. Saw this place on Yelp, gave it a shot and it was so worth it. The music was fantastic. And the food was to die for. Highly recommend the Lobster Sliders if they're on the menu, as well as the Charcuterie board! Also, huge shoutout to Jason our server. He was such a nice guy, and gave us great service.

Service was horrible, manager was extremely rude. Didn't introduce himself, and made it very clear he had no interest in speaking.

Paid a first visit to House 509 Bistro, a charming and cozy restaurant located just off N Hwy 101,…read morewell north of downtown Greer. The name "House 509" has a fascinating backstory. Chef G, who spent his early life in Haiti, lived in a region with the 509 area code. After some time in Miami, he moved to a home in Greer with the street address "509." It was a natural choice for the restaurant's name. Upon arrival, our reservations were honored promptly. I requested to change tables, and Ashley was more than happy to accommodate us. The menu is designed around flights--of food and wine--making it difficult to choose from so many appealing options. We opted for flights that included scallops, shrimp and grits, mahi mahi, and mushroom ravioli, along with a side of lobster bisque and chocolate cake. Each dish was awesome! Chef G stopped by our table to say hello. The intent behind the name House 509 is to create a homey atmosphere, and the staff does an excellent job achieving that. While it may take a little time for your entrees to arrive due to the careful preparation, the wait is definitely worth it. Make sure to add House 509 to your must-visit list!

I walked around the store and bought things on sale. Sadly, the sale prices that are posted is not how things ring up. The other problem, I bought a smoked chicken a whole chicken. I was very excited to get home and eat it. It wasn't fully cooked. I didn't realize and ate a chicken wing. I also bought a piece of cooked salmon. I'm not sure if it was the salmon or the chicken but all of a sudden I was so incredibly nauseous! Then I looked for my receipt. I had no memory of the cashier giving me a receipt. I looked through all my bags. I looked in my purse. I looked in my wallet. No receipt. Oh and I bought a bottle of evolution. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Opened it up when I got home and it was bitter, which meant it was going bad already. And I went directly from the store home so it didn't sit in my car and get warm. Since I didn't have a receipt and I felt I was overcharged... The charge of my credit card wasn't what I thought I had paid... I returned everything to the store. They were able to download my receipt. They did give me a complete credit for everything I bought. But there was something I went back and bought. Simple syrup mixers for alcoholic drinks. They were on sale for $2.99 and usually $4.35 or $4.50. My original purchase I had bought five. That's definitely a good deal and I use this product all the time. After returning everything, I went back to the shelves and grabbed two bottles of simple syrup. When I went to pay, here's a surprise: they rang up at full price. As I walked into the store, and as I walked out of the store, I kept telling people to check their receipts. It's very common for grocery stores to have sale prices posted, but not update their computer system and if you're not paying attention, you do not get the sale price. Well, sadly, I guess this is what this chain does. I hope the people who run this chain read my review. I hope they check how they cook their chickens in store and sell them as fully cooked. I know Costco and all the other grocery store chains do not sell undercooked hot chickens. Someone's not doing their job or they don't have their thermometers working. Very sad.

Two bays is a two hour minimum. We chose one of their "feasts" for our lunch food choice, which was 6 slider burgers, 18 wings (2x flavors) and a pound of fries. We got two of these at $65 each and had enough for two lunches left over the next day, probably along with a snack or two from the leftovers. The service from Emma as our primary server was great and she had good help from the friendly Bobby. We played 2-3 games of golf. Four of us had our own clubs. Others used the clubs provided. Some of us were golfers and some were not golfers at all, but everyone had fun. The wings were very good and a surprise that they were so good. The slider burgers also were very good. After this experience, and since it is 1.2 miles to my home. I'm signing up for the summer pass for $180 for two hours per day of play, 10% off food and five guests within restricted hours, such as open to 5PM weekdays, but hey, I'm newly retired and can do that. Plus, comfortable seating and climate control is appreciated and adult beverages are available if one wishes to partake. The only caution is to tip on the food and beverage amount and it is not considered necessary to tip on the game play charges. We had a blast!
