Never buy a car from here. I bought a cx-9 from here, It was sold with certain features such as remote start and keyless entry. What we were never told was all those features were just temporary and you had to purchase a monthly subscription inorder to use it. Also it was sold with 2 free oil changes. When I brought it in for the second oil change they charged me over $100. They're salesman will say anything to sell you a car. I definitely do not recommend Crater Lake Mazda to anyone. First off, I don't leave negative reviews unless I've been misled or wronged by the company, which was the case with Crater Lake Ford/ Mazda. Tanner Newcombe was my salesman. In 2024, I purchased a "lifetime oil contract from them for $995. One year later, I traded in that car for new CX-50. Tanner had me sign a cancellation form to get the prorated refund from my trade-in. I was told I'd receive the refund within 90 days. Needless to say, the $709 never arrived, and it's been 6 months! To make matters worse, he convinced me to buy a new oil change contract on the new car for another $995. I was misled and lied to by Tanner and a manager named Brett P. I've been emailing and leaving messages for Tanner, yet he never gave me the courtesy of a response. After my recent purchase, the dealership wanted me to review Tanner. I mistakenly gave him a positive review, which I now regret. I will either revise that to reflect my recent experiences or complete a new one naming the staff involved. This brings me to yesterday, when I drove the 40 minutes to address this with Tanner. He said he never got the VM's or emails I left, but would investigate and send me a Docusign to process this refund. I asked if I could just sign the form again while I was there, but he had another excuse for why that wasn't possible. I waited 24 hrs and the DocuSign never came. I've had enough of their lies. Since Tanner didn't follow through once again, I called to speak with a manager. Brett P. told me he'd do some research and call me back. Brett called and informed me that the cancellation paperwork was never processed, with no explanation as to the reason why or who is responsible. Brett told me I just needed to call their third-party vendor, DWS, and they'd mail my refund directly to my home. That didn't happen either. Before I hung up, I asked Brett if I could call him back should I have any more issues, to which he agreed. I tried calling Brett back x 2 and left him a voicemail explaining what DWS is requesting. I've yet to hear back from him or anyone from Crater Lake. DWS is adding additional roadblocks, requiring a hard copy of my cancellation request and proof of loan payoff. I was never provided with this documentation, so I'll need to drive in again today to get these documents. I've been inconvenienced one too many times by their sales team and management. Here's my recommendation after buying 2 Mazdas from Crater Lake in the last two years: *** Drive the extra miles to buy from another Mazda dealership in Eugene or Brookings, if you don't want to end up with buyer's remorse! Horrible. I asked only if the listed price was the out the door price. It took 2 days and 5 emails to get an answer. Then, they lied about the price. Then, when they were called on the lie they said that previously undisclosed price was not negotiable. But, when I thanked them for wasting my time by not disclosing that when I first asked, they suddenly became responsive, sending 4 gratuitous emails in 20 minutes. Great experience getting my daughter into her first car she was able to buy on her own. Our salesman JT was very easy to work with and wasn't pushy like I've experienced at other lots in the valley. He tried multiple times on getting her the best financing rate he could get, which was pleasantly less than we were expecting. He was also able to offer many different cars to choose from, but she had her heart set on a Miata and so that's what she got. Even if I'm not shopping for a Mazda the next time I'm looking for a new vehicle I will definitely go back to JT specifically and see what he can find for me. I purchased my 2019 Mazda CX-5 from this dealership. I got an error message stating the Smart Break Sensor was malfunctioning. I took the vehicle in to be inspected and was informed a wire somewhere was disconnected and it would take approx. 5 hours to figure out where the problem was. Mind you, codes were available. I could not afford the cost of 5 hours labor and asked if the car could still be driven, I was told yes. I was charged $187.00. It was suggested that I take the car to Neil Brown Automotive, an independent shop. Within 2 hours Neil's team had discovered the problem, a break lamp was out. Light was replaced and the car it back to normal. Why, why do they provide this kind of service. Why the deceit? I just don't understand. The service is absolutely awful. They upcharged me and oversold me on one occasion. On another occasion they wouldn't service the car because they didn't have a Mazda technician who could do it. How does a Mazda dealership not have a Mazda technician?? I will not bring my car here again. read more

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this service dept. I brought my Mazda 3 in due to a recall on the steering wheel cover and an oil change. I had not had any other problems previously. A couple miles down the road after I picked it up it lurched and the AT light and engine light came on. I turned around and took it back to them. They said they couldn't find anything and that the engine light turned off. A day or so later it did it again. I took it back to inquire about what could have happened. After two hours they said it was a sensor and that it cost me $200 to find that out. They would not put any of that money towards having them fix it like some mechanics do. They ordered the parts but said that they needed a bolt that was on back order for 4 months! When I left from there my car would no longer shift into 4th gear at all. I asked why they couldn't just use the bolt that was is there but they gave no answer. I waited for a couple weeks in hopes they could get the bolt sooner. I happened to run into a previous Mazda tech and he said "why don't they use the same bolt". I then took it to a new mechanic and he said no special bolt was needed and fixed it. He showed me that the pin in the old sensor had been bent. There is no way that that could have happened on its own. So . . . Use your imagination here. I was in the market for a new car, but this made me decide against getting another Mazda as I don't want to deal with this service center again. read more

I specifically said I am only going to test drive the car and that I am not ready to buy. Ever since then I have received a call from Ridge almost every single day including multiple emails from other staff members. I have told Rich to stop contacting me and I will contact him when I am ready to buy but this has not stopped him from calling. I have gotten so annoyed that I will not, nor ever go through this company. I would much rather find a dealership up north that will not be contacting me every day after I specifically asked to stop. These service department guys are condescending , sarcastic, and generally rude. Beware if you're female, they will try to make you feel belittled. We had to go to oil stop despite having a oil change package on the new car. Oil stop guys we're super polite and friendly. Terrible service. Never going back. Went to inquire the meaning of an error code in the car, and was told it would be almost $200 just to CHECK. I went online and found it in 5 minutes. I also asked if they would sync my fob with my car. They were going to charge me $113. Again, I looked online and was able to do it myself in 2 mins, absolutely free. This place is not here to create loyal customers, but to swindle you out of your money. The man who was helping us seemed disinterested and repeatedly told us he couldn't help us because he would be on lunch break soon. Ridiculous.
