    Crispy Beef and Au jus
    David M.

First time going here. I know right now they might have a shaky score, but my experience was good. The food was good, the service was good. The fresh cut cries were decent a bit salty imo. (But that's can be fixed if you say less salt.) The burger was nothing special, juicy decent flavor, good bun. The crispy beef however..., I asked the lady taking my order what was good and she said the crispy beef was the most popular. But i was craving a burger so I went burger. Got a little "house sauce" on the side (like Big Mac Sauce) To go i got the crispy beef. She was 100% right. I see why it's popular, juicy, flavorful, decent size, good au just. I'm going back soon!

First time visiting. The Cripsy Beef was fantastic. Highly recommend if you like Italian Beef served a new way. Home made fries were great. Friendly staff! Will definitely be going back.

Just tried Craver's in Lockport for the second time this week--and I'm officially hooked! We originally saw people raving about it on Facebook and had to see what the hype was about. Let me tell you... they were NOT wrong! I had the Gyro Italiano, and WOW. It was loaded with flavor--savory, rich, and super filling. Definitely not your average gyro! My husband ordered one of their crispers, which are like giant egg rolls stuffed with tons of meat and flavor. We couldn't stop talking about how good they were. If you try anything here, make sure you get a crisper! You definitely won't walk away hungry. The onion rings deserve their own shout-out--crispy, golden perfection. Honestly some of the best I've had in years. The fries were solid too, but those rings stole the show. Service was great both times. The first time we walked in, it wasn't crowded and our order was ready quickly. The second time I ordered online (super convenient!) and even got to pick between 10% off or a free hot dog--love little perks like that. And they write positive, uplifting messages on the takeout bags like "stay humble" and "be kind." Such a nice touch! It just made me smile. Huge portions, delicious food, awesome people--Craver's definitely lives up to the name. Highly recommend giving it a try!

YUM. All the greatness of a beef sandwich without all that soggy bread. The fries are real potatoes and not frozen like other joints. The staff was super friendly. I came in mid afternoon during the week and it was pretty empty but I can see it filling up during dinner rush. Be patient, they're only a week old and I'm sure working out the kinks. If you don't have time to wait call your order in. If you're an entitled impatient jerk... learn to cook at home and save us all having to deal with your attitude. All-in-all. Love this place already!!

Had cravers for the first time Saturday and GOOD GOD it was DELICIOUS!!! Garlic parm fries were to die for. And I love good French fries. Fries were the hand cut ones soooo good. Wings delicious, crispy beef so good. Chicken Sammy was mediocre and basic. but everything else was 10/10. Definitely will be going back! Friendly service too- my son got a free lemon ice and he absolutely loved it! Said it was better than ice cream :) looking forward to going back here!!! Great addition to Lockport.

ETA: I did speak with the owner. He was apologetic regarding the 1 new person working. The 4 other people standing there get a pass. (The ones who have been there longest?! Make it make sense) I don't recommend going here unless you want crappie service and an expectation of dealing with it. There was a new cashier. The one that I'm assuming was training the other was on the phone trying to get the credit machine up and moving. I have patience for things going wrong, new employees- we're all new at some point. But what lacked was communication. It was awkward with 5 employees trying not to make eye contact while i waited. After 5 minutes, I was acknowledged letting me know it's cash only. Great, that's how I planned on paying! Lessss gooooo. I think my food popped up faster than waiting to order! On to the good part... I ordered the crispy beef and garlic ranch fries. The beef was Fantastic! I inquired before ordering that the garlic fries had garlic seasoning and ranch on the side. The young man confirmed. The ranch, infact, comes on the fries. If you're 20 mins away from your destination, I recommend getting the ranch on the side. (Although that is how I ordered it. Good luck to you!) The positive vibes on the bag were- You Rock & You matter. Maybe i had high hopes catching this place from a reel with a recommendation, but I really wasn't feeling it. Yes the beef was good, but there's also good beef closer. I was turned off by the cold feeling from staff. A better writing on the bag could have given kudos where it was lacking. Anything besides feeling like i had burdened them. P.s. the au jus is supposed to be a light color and have seasonings in it. That is Not what I received.

I buy multiple plates of it and freeze it in case I'm having a bad day or there's a freak snow storm in May. I'm not sure if the man who makes the gumbo is also the owner, but he needs a raise. It comes with cornbread. The most delicious also, and not a sliver; they give you a brick of cornbread. Such a friendly place, and actually this time while I was enjoying the quirky signs around the bar, I did take a peek at the rest of the menu. It looks like everything they have is equally worth eating. I tell you what, my soul was pretty happy walking out of there.

This place is directly across the street from the theater, so the convenience cannot be beat. It is a comfortable place with a decent bar and excellent bartender. The customer service could not be beat. The owner was on hand, making sure everything went well through the rush prior to the show across the street. waitresses and food runners were busy, thorough and efficient. The sandwiches we got were fine, but the fries were excellent! Seasoned perfectly and had a great crunch to them. The appetizers were a basic fare. Nothing to write home about, but they hit the spot.

MAXWELL STREET RACING…read more Ya gotta make a pit stop for polish sausage at this Portillo's Pickup in Joliet. Speed isn't just the goal here; it's integrated into the overall theme.  Most Portillo's have decor from a certain era (e.g. Glendale Heights features 30's prohibition, Elmhurst is a 1950's neon diner, Homewood has a 70's hippie vibe), but this location on Larkin Ave is all about NASCAR. The racing motif is fitting, as this Portillo's has a unique triple drive thru (yep, *3* lanes) to serve customers as quickly as possible.  Since there's no dining room, all business is done at a small pickup counter inside or via the drive thru.  Service has been zippy across a few visits. There are lots of great things on the menu, especially the beef 'n' cheddar croissant ($8), jumbo Chicago style dog ($5), and the iconic chocolate cake ($6).  Lemon cake is a seasonal fan favorite, and my wife absolutely loves their strawberry shortcake ($5).  Char burger w/cheese & bacon is underrated, too. As with the classic hot dog, their Maxwell Street polish ($6) comes on a steamed poppyseed bun with mustard.  It's seasoned to perfection and has a wonderful 'snap' to it. Grilled onions are piled on top, and for an added burst of flavor, I recommend adding sport peppers. On my last trip here, I ordered a cup of hot giardiniera to go with an Italian beef and instead got.....a cup of hot oil.  0% "giard", 100% tub o' spicy liquid.  I found this more amusing than upsetting, but it wasn't what I paid for, so I have to dock a star. * TL;DR * Put the pedal to the metal and hurry to your nearest Portillo's! The Maxwell Street (a.k.a. footlong polish sausage) is great for those with a hearty appetite, although you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.  Sign up for their rewards program and they'll give you a free large fry, plus a free piece of cake on your birthday. This location is lacking the interior charm of other Portillo's in the Chicagoland area, but if all you care about is getting tasty food relatively quickly, then consider this place victory lane.

I've been looking for an excuse to come to this Portillo's forever since it opened. I assumed I had…read morethe perfect chance to visit after getting a free coupon for an Italian beef sandwich from a hockey game I went to months ago from a Portillo's promotion. Mind you that my card was valid until the end of 2026. The people at Portillo's were telling me that my card voucher was expired though it was not. The worst part was is that it took me 30 minutes just to get up to the lady to ask for my food too. Just to be the client and even get out of line in the end wasting my time that I won't get back. It's supposed to be a three-lane drive-thru and the traffic is more backed up than Interstate 55 heading towards Chicago just to be able to obtain your food anyways. After experiencing this, I will not be coming back to this Portillo's. If I do come back there better to be an area for me to walk in and order my food and not sit in the Drive-Thru the entire time.
