Massaman Curry
Nick C.

Ended up Cravin Thai on Father's Day because my dad had read somewhere that it is one of the best restaurants in New Jersey. We made a reservation and were seated immediately upon arrival. Apparently, this old building on Main Street used to house a bank. The interior has a bar and a good amount of exposed brick. There aren't that many tables either. Most of the waitstaff was notably, not Thai, or even Asian. But they took our orders shortly after we received the menu. We ordered the appetizer sampler, massaman curry, pineapple fried rice, spaghetti basil, and drunken noodles. The food took long to get out. Appetizers came out about half an hour after we ordered and the entrees took nearly an hour. But the food was surprisingly good. Pineapple fried rice wasn't too sweet, and the massaman curry had a slightly tangy spice balanced by the coconut milk. My dad and I had ordered the drunken noodles and spaghetti basil extra spicy. I haven't seen the spaghetti basil at other Thai restaurants. It was similar to the drunken noodles, but the sauce was had more sweetness. Both were spicy, but I preferred the spicier and less sweet drunken noodles. Fortunately, my dad prefered the sweeter, less spicy spaghetti basil, so we just traded dishes. Surprisingly good Thai food considering the area, but the long wait time and distance from home keeps it from being on my regular list.

Good Thai fair. I had the Massaman curry and asked for spicy on the scale of mild, medium spicy, spicy, and Thai spicy, and it was rather spicy on my scale (considering I like hot food). The taste was good, and the sticky rice that was served w it worked with the curry. Service was pleasant and helpful. The decore was basic but pleasing and the atmosphere was nice as well.

Cravin Thai is a great spot for tasty food, cool drinks, and friendly service. The place has a nice vibe overall. Just a heads up, though--the chili lime ribs have a bit of a funky smell that may not suit everyone's taste...Still, plenty of other good stuff on the menu to check out!

My wife and I went for dinner last night. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. The food was delicious and came out very fast! The waitress was great as well!

Old broccoli - not edible

Was not impressed with my takeout experience. Broccoli in the fried rice was old and ruined the dish. Pad thai and green curry were fine. The latter was spicier than I would've preferred.

I've been here so many times I can't believe I've never done a review! Went with my friend and got fried tofu app and Brussels sprouts app. They were great but I forgot to take pics. We had chicken pad Thai and red curry. I go back over and over so I can say that the Thai spring rolls, pad ginger and pad see eew are also great!

Great food, good service. Only problem is place is small and always busy. That's a good problem to have. Don't forget- they have take out!

Ok, just ok. I prefer the 2 Thai restaurants in Newton and they are both BYOB, with a wine shop next door.

Wonderful cozy find! Best breakfast-for-dinner ever…read more We stumbled upon this absolute gem on a freezing, rainy evening after an outdoor event, just looking for a warm bite to eat around dinner time. My partner found this spot while searching nearby, and oh how happy I am that he did! I had been craving blueberry pancakes for days and was so excited to have a rare breakfast-for-dinner treat. From the moment we walked in, the warmth of the place completely melted the cold away. We were greeted by a wonderful, incredibly kind waitress, and the atmosphere inside was just so cozy and comforting. There was a lovely mix of people having their supper, including a sweet family of seven eating dinner together at the table next to us. It just had that perfect, welcoming community feel. The menu was seriously impressive. My other half ordered the southern chicken sausage gravy dinner, and it was phenomenal! I got my blueberry pancakes- my absolute favorite - and they completely exceeded expectations. I also tried the lentil soup, which was packed with flavor. Honestly, I don't think you could have a bad meal here if you tried. Our waitress (the same lovely woman who greeted us) chatted with us for a bit and was just so delightful and attentive. I even spotted a rice pudding with strawberries and whipped cream on the dessert menu that looked right up my alley, but between my pancakes and stealing a few delicious bites of the chicken dinner, I was far too full this time around! As we left, I noticed the pretty flowers and the outdoor picnic tables. I'm sure this place absolutely hops on weekend mornings, but it was the perfect rainy evening escape for us. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality-we are officially adding this to our regular rotation when we are in the area.

If you don't want your entrées coming out with the appetizers, just give them a heads up, because the kitchen moves fast here. We started with the mushroom dish and a hearty soup...both full of flavor and the perfect start to the meal. Then came the star of the night: the lamb chops. Perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and melt-in-your-mouth good. Everything we tried was fresh and satisfying, the kind of food that makes you want to go back the next day. The service was on point- Friendly and attentive, and the whole space has this quirky, cozy feel, like you're sitting in your grandma's living room with its mix of chairs and warm, homey vibe. It's also BYOB, which is always a win. We brought a bottle of wine that paired perfectly with the meal. Overall, Butcher's Grill is a must-visit if you're in the area. Great food, quick service, and a cozy atmosphere that makes it stand out. Can't wait to come back!

THE FULL RUN DOWN!!! lol, I saw so many varying reviews I needed to get the official answer myself…read more My girlfriend and I came in, right off the bat, the drinks aren't very good, mojito was a NOjito, as in no flavor and all sour lol but the beer was good. We got potato skins and wings and the wings were perfect, fall off the bone as well cooked. The potato skins........perfect cheese, perfect bacon, but can we get a little flavor onto that potato? Next time. I got the pulled pork Sandwhich, it was perfect all around and delicious. The fries were PERFECT!! Crispy and fresh. My girlfriend got the stir fry, the vegetables were perfectly seasoned but the chicken could use some flavor in itself. I was told it's a bit bland like the potato. Overall, 4 stars, our server was attentive, friendly and patient with us. The food was great, no major complaints at all. I took the star off just because the cocktail wasn't very good, the base of the food we ate could use some more seasoning and flavor in the (potato and chicken). Also side suggestion would be to make a few playlists, I felt like the music was all over the place and definitely can set the mood when hanging out. Definitely would love to return, worth the stop 100%

As soon as we sat down, the staff brought over warm bread with a cheesy crust on top, simple but really good, and a nice way to settle in. I started with an Old Fashioned mocktail, which I have to admit just didn't work. After a couple of sips, I gave up on it. I stuck with the mocktail because I was taking medication for a cold, but honestly, I found myself wishing I had just ordered the real version. Once the French onion soup came out, things turned around quickly. It was exactly what I needed, rich, hot, and comforting in all the right ways. Our waiter checked in just enough without hovering, and the rest of the staff was just as attentive. It felt welcoming, whether people were staying at the resort or just coming in for dinner, which added to the relaxed atmosphere. For my main dish, I went with the burger cooked medium-rare, and it hit the mark. Juicy, full of flavor, and paired with crisp fries that were actually seasoned well. Between the quality of the food and the friendly service, the Crystal Tavern left a good impression. I'd definitely go back and try more of the menu next time.
