I thought I reviewed this before but apparently I didn't. I get here periodically and it's always good. You can't go wrong at Sushi Ya 2. Tonight, my daughter was visiting from out of town, and we decided to go there. I went out of the box and tried something new. I had three different rollsand they were all fabulous. Most of the time I eat at the sushi bar and enjoy what the sushi chefs create. Looking forward to my next visit. It is always clean, prompt service, good food and fresh and good pricing. You can't go wrong!

Pink Apple Roll, House Wasabi Roll, and Sushi Deluxe Dinner

Cute sushi place with friendly and fast service located right by the wine store and Acme in Vernon. BYOB and also has fun Japanese sodas to drink. We started with miso soup and then got the sushi deluxe, pink apple roll, and house wasabi roll. Everything was great and I especially loved the house wasabi roll - never had a special roll like it and it was pack with wasabi caviar. They do takeout but I don't think delivery even through apps. Will definitely be back here when I'm in the area!

Great sushi - very consistent. I always do takeout and have never been disappointed. My only criticism was the way they packed soy sauce into the big platter of sushi (a big container of soy sauce placed on top with no bag) which caused me to spill it all over, but they took note and fixed that when I brought it up.

I stopped by here for a business lunch and it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff, nice environment, spacious plenty seating available. Restaurant is kept clean and organized the times I've visited here. Food tastes great and I'm happy for that. Portion sizes on some of the items are fairly small. One dish is strictly for one person but the food is great. They will also accommodate any special requests, not common at most sushi places. Definitely will return. PS: This place is BYOB with no cork fees.

BBQ calamari, ichiban, seafood salad, salmon skin roll and shrimp tempura roll.

It is hidden gem in the ACME plaza. With the wide variety menu, it caters to a lot. I ordered an array of items and was not disappointed. From the seafood salad to the mochi very tasty and fulfilling. I will be trying the hibachi and bento box next.

Treasure island

Located in the shopping plaza in Vernon nj We went for lunch with our children and whilst the food is not the worst ever. It's edible. It just isn't anything to write home about. The restaurant was nearly empty with the exception of one other table of guest and the staff eating. The treasure island was actually the best thing we had. It's the avocado with crunchy spicy tuna. We ordered a number of rolls, hibachi, fried calamari and a steak soup. All of it was just ok. The waitress was not very attentive and kept going back to her coworkers who where eating to talk. We didn't feel like she was paying much attention to us and at some point she also joined them to eat at a booth whilst in the middle of serving us. We will not be returning.

Delicious, fresh tasting sushi. We have ordered take out from here three times now. The order was ready quickly and service was friendly when I picked up. Most importantly, the food was delicious.

Awful service. Waitress with glasses is a miserable. Simply rude, unfriendly, pompous.

A typical strip mall Chinese/Japanese joint. Food is tasty but greasy. Could be cleaner as well.

I have never had an unpleasant experience at Mt. Fuji. The excitement starts as you drive through…read morethe majestic entrance and make your way up the winding Mt. Fuji Road. Having valet service makes the visit comfortable, the grounds are well kept (including the Koi pond) and the host desk is always friendly and accommodating. During this visit, we had a private booth, which I highly recommend. The chef ALWAYS puts on an entertaining performance and I'm always in awe at the sharpness of their knives. The food is always prepared as requested and the service is second to none. The staff is well dressed, cordial, and ready to tend to every course and need. Mt. After that, service slowed to a crawl. We spent much of the night politely waving for drink refills, and there was a long wait after soup and salad before the chef arrived. The full experience clocked in at nearly three hours -- enough time to consider dessert elsewhere. The restaurant has been renovated, but the hibachi experience itself wasn't exactly a showstopper. Our chef was very animated and did all the expected tricks, but with nearby chefs singing at full volume, the atmosphere felt less like hibachi and more like an impromptu karaoke night. The prices were steep -- nearly double what similar hibachi spots charge -- and unfortunately, the food didn't rise to the occasion. The filet mignon and sirloin were underwhelming, the chicken was generously coated in teriyaki but somehow still lacked flavor, and the green tea soft serve arrived with an unexpected chocolate syrup drizzle that definitely did not ask for permission. While this place is clearly popular and booked months in advance, the experience wasn't unique enough to justify the cost or the time commitment. There are plenty of nearby options offering the same hibachi show without the three-hour runtime.

Go for the fusion dishes, skip the Italian specials. We…read moreloved the bao buns and korean tacos. The specials that day (we got frutti di mare and another pasta a la vodka?) were disasters. Not sure if they used a fusilli, gemelli, or cavatappi, but it tasted like microwaved overcooked pasta. I was expecting a spaghetti, linguini, or bucatini for the frutti di mare and penne, ziti or rigatoni for the a la vodka, so just the choice of pasta was a surpenned, the fact that we got the same for 2 very different dishes indicated that that was the only pasta they had in the kitchen. All said, it would've been totally fine if both dishes didn't taste like mush. And both sauces tasted nearly identical. Sad, because service was great and the other dishes were absolutely phenomenal. They ran out of the ramen that day so I suspect that's a popular dish as well. I would just stick with the fusion style dishes. If my rating was based on the two fusion plates I had, would definitely be 4 stars!

Asian Fusion Meets Pub Food: A Delightful Dilemma…read more The biggest challenge at this restaurant is deciding what to choose! With an array of intriguing options alongside classic pub fare, the menu is an adventure! It's small but comfortable and well decorated. The service was quick and friendly. I started with a lychee martini, perfectly paired with Korean Short Rib Tacos. The balance of flavors was impeccable--neither too sweet nor too stiff, with a texture that was just right. The tacos delivered a burst of flavor that did not disappoint. We also tried the Bahn Mi, which had great flavor, though it might not make our reorder list. A favorite from the pub menu was fried pickles. A must-have at every restaurant I visit, served as coins--the only proper way, in my opinion. The breading was thick, crispy, and well-seasoned, reminiscent of a chicken nugget. In the most delicious way. I can't wait to return and explore more of the menu. This place is definitely on our list of regular haunts.

Solid local sushi spot with a chill vibe…read more Sushi and Sashimi Special ($75) - This party platter comes with 12 pieces of sushi, 18 pieces of sashimi, 6 piece spicy tuna naruto roll, and 6 piece california roll. I think it would be enough to feed 2 people, but if you have more than that, you probably want to order another roll or two. Everything here was pretty good. The fish seemed average freshness. The naruto roll was unique with cucumber around the outside, though the tuna was not really spicy. I specifically thought the sea bream (white fish) sashimi was good, as it had a creamy taste and consistency. Julie Roll ($15) - This roll was delicious, with a nice combo of yellowtail, salmon, and tuna in one roll. In addition, there was mango for some sweetness, avocado, and cucumber in there. It was topped with red fish eggs and had a soy wrapper around it, which made it a little unique. Beauty and Beast Roll ($15) - This is sort of a 2-in-1 roll, as half of the pieces have tuna on top and half have avocado on top. There is also shrimp tempura inside along with cucumber and eel. Another tasty roll. The restaurant has a very chill vibe inside. There were a couple others dining in as well for Sunday lunch. The staff are super friendly and even gave us a side of edamame on the house. The service speed was pretty quick. Overall, if you are in the mood for some sushi (either dining in or take-out), I think Nigiri Sushi would be a very good option, particularly if you are in the Franklin Lakes area.
