When I walked in I was a bit nervous because it was not a buffet. The food looked pretty good. Advice is good that I might be able to make at home without much difficulty but that was way easier to eat here. They serve Coke products which is OK but I still prefer Pepsi products. The way they present their food gives them great flexibility especially in how much they can offer. They were very friendly and attentive of customers. What was even better was that the majority of them were actually cheerful as they served. I probably would visit again because I had a great experience. read more

For a quick and inexpensive good "home-cooked meal", you can't beat Cravings. The vegetables are delicious and the banana pudding is a must! The wonderful friendly staff makes this one of my favorite lunch spots. This is a perfect Sunday/after church place to pick up a take out box. My wife and I have been eating here several times a week for about the past four years. The food is always fresh and well-prepared. One of my favorites (I have several) is the Southwest chicken. It is delicious! I have not seen this dish anywhere else.The owners and staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. My wife says the vegetables, casseroles, and desserts seem to be prepared with the Southern recipes she grew up with from her mother's and grandmother's cooking. We like the fact that the kitchen is open, and you can see the food being prepared. The people in the back are always working hard, cooking or cleaning. We love this place! read more

Very disappointed in the treatment of our family . . . Our family patronizes Cravings at least two-three times per month. Celebrating a special time for our little girl, we took our family including grandparents to lunch at Cravings, because they have good food and we THOUGHT they handled crowds well. Unfortunately, instead of viewing our family as customers, we were made to feel more like cattle being herded through an auction. As we were finishing desserts and drinks, a member of the staff (probably management) inquired if needed refills to which we responded "no, thank you" - all of our glasses were still at least half full. Without hesitating, she quickly picked up all of our glasses, dessert plates and dinner plates without even asking if we were finished. I totally understand they had a crowd - we were being very cognizant of the crowd, but they also had 4+ available tables in the restaurant. If you are only desiring to scarf down a good, home cooked style meal, then they are a great option . . . If you have any desire to eat & visit - don't bother! read more

The customer service is extremely bad in poor taste, and to find out the business owner herself leads by this example is remarkable. She smarts off to customers and provides the worse hospitality. Her wait staff follows her lead and is as unprofessional as she is. They want your money but have no business etiquette on how to address and treat their customers, The busboy picks up your food before your done, and leans the dirty dish tray on your table filled with dirty dishes, this is unsanitary and the health inspector will be notified of their practices. You want to spend your hard earned money somewhere else where your valued as a customer and can get better food. read more

Step in the door and your mouth waters; step to the counter, and you better hope you are not hungry. Though the food is 'okay', the portions to price leave something to be desired. Average size plate(8") with 2 vegetables and a meat might be fine for an elementary student age 9-12, but it will not satisfy a teen or a hungry husband. Unless you want to stand in line for a second and third plate at $7.25 each you better go to Golden Corral where the price and variety of food will satisfy any hungry appetite with the same country flavor. I found this to be no better than Golden Corral, Ryan's or a Fire Mountain dinning experience. Fair to moderate country cooking, friendly enough service and a server yourself cafeteria style environment. Oh and the local hospital has about the same in their cafeteria, at a better price I might add. read more

Been here twice already this week, just sampling the menu. Lots of good southern dishes, and nothing I don't like as if yet. Their green beans are fantastic. Country fried steak and baked chicken are both very good. The only reason I am not dropping five stars here is because they could serve things just a tad warmer. We have been going to Cravings for over one year. At first there was great service and good food. After a few months I started to notice the portion sizes were getting smaller and smaller. It is almost as if the young people that are serving up the food on your plate are being watched by owners/management so close they must be afraid to serve up a decent size portion. As you move down the counter and select your choices you get what I call, kid size portions, and don't ask for a little more. You get the look like, don't ask me that, they will beat me if I put too much on your plate, I have seen them even pull a little food back off of people's plates and back into the pans. So back to my most recent and LAST visit. The lady was nearly out of chicken and I got the last couple of pieces. The lady called back for more chicken to be cooked. Once at my table I tried the chicken, it was sort of nasty and cold. So, when the lady came around to check on us I asked to have my chicken replaced. I was told I would have to pay extra, So I couldn't get fresh food, her reply was, "I had to pay extra", REALLY! I was told I didn't have eat there and she walked away. This is not how you keep a business going and keep your reputation at a high level. All for the cost of a couple of pieces of chicken, really. If Cravings is running on that tight of a budget, it makes one wonder how else and where are they are cutting corners to make a profit. Sorry to say I will not return and will be sure to inform everyone I know of my experience. read more

Good food. My church friends and I have patronized this restaurant for a couple of years about once every six weeks or so. But on a recent visit, as was commented earlier, as soon as we had placed the napkins over our plates, we were asked if we wanted refills on glasses of water that were yet 2/3 full. My friend asked for a "to-go" cup of water, and as soon as this was placed before her, the server interrupted our conversation and asked us to leave because there were other people who needed to be seated! Needless to say, we were at first extremely embarrassed that we had been so caught up in conversation that we had overstayed our welcome to the point they had to ask us to leave! We always try to be sensitive to a busy restaurant and those waiting in line. Quite a line had formed (late church service letting out), but this line was waiting to go through the buffet line. The only couple who appeared to be in need of a table immediately was just finishing up paying for their food. As we exited, we passed by two other empty booths. And as I got into my car, I noted the time, 12:30, and that we had been there only 55 minutes. So, yes, as noted above, very good food, but if you are going for a relaxed meal to enjoy the fellowship of your friends, this is not the place. We probably eat here 2-4 times per week. With our busy schedule, not cooking at home is good and saves time on cleanup. Nearly everything I've tried has been good. I love the chicken livers! I like the variety, but you have to check from day to day to see what they're having. Not being open on Saturday is a bummer, but I guess I can eat junk food on that day. read more

I have eaten lunch at Cravings several times, and I've enjoyed it each time. Most recently, I went on a Friday for lunch because someone had posted a photo of salmon patties on a Facebook group I'm in. My husband said he doesn't like salmon patties, so I didn't want to make a batch just for myself. I figured a good Southern diner like Cravings would have them on a Friday, and they didn't disappoint. I looked at other entrees, but held to my I initial mission and got the salmon, Mac and cheese and squash casserole. As I rounded the corner, I realized they had fresh slaw. Fish just calls for fresh slaw, so I added a serving. Got everything to go because I knew my eyes were bigger than my tummy. Good call... I ate one of the two patties, and it was exceptional. Very light and well-seasoned and not greasy at all. The Mac and cheese was good, not as cheesy or custardy as some might like, but still authentic with a little bit of crisp crust included in the serving. And the squash casserole was dead-on. Mainly just squash with little filler. The slaw was excellent, finely grated cabbage with a hint of sweetness, kind of like KFC. The service was good with a friendly young waitress who even fixed me a tea to go. I brought my leftovers home and let my husband have them. Low and behold, he ate the leftover salmon and said it was good. I will be going back to Cravings to try the baked chicken and the candied yams and carrot-raisin salad and broccoli-rice.... read more
