The ice cream was tasty, but the staff was rude. It's a Friday night, we were eating around Vero Beach, and decided to end the night with ice cream. This place was close by where we were & they closed at 10pm. We got there with 20 minutes to spare. It wasn't busy when we arrived; one customer ahead of us. There were two older women working behind the counter. One woman was snapping at everything we said. At first I thought she was joking but she was actually serious. My group likes to make jokes and she wasn't having it. She was being outwardly rude to us for coming in 20 minutes before they closed. She actively told people who came in behind us to leave. At one point I remember thinking "this is an ice cream shop, why are you so unhappy" good grief lady, get out of customer service because you're not good at it. Not to mention, directly after paying for our ice cream the woman who had just served us asked us to leave immediately. Ice cream was great though! Great little place on the strip in Vero Beach. They have plenty of Ice cream options, toppings, cakes, brownies, shakes, etc. Get it by the cone or the cup its good stuff. I really appreciated the hand washing station they have by the front door during this pandemic. They have a large patio area where you can sit and eat your ice cream while people watching. They are also dog friendly and have doggie portions. read more

I was staying in Vero and found this place on Yelp. I love supporting local businesses, so I thought I would give it a try. First, the pastries are divine. Fresh and yummy. The coffee was meh. I ordered a mocha the first day and a latte the second. Neither had much flavor and I truly felt in I was drinking steamed milk. I noticed an unfriendly older lady working both days ( maybe owner or manager). I felt she was rude not only to customers but especially to staff. This place was great! I was just in town for the night visiting people staying at the resort just across the street from Cravings. The ice cream was great, and since it was Wednesday we were able to take advantage of the buy one waffle cone, get one free! While the ice cream was great, it was the specialty baked goods that really impressed me. They had paleo, gluten free, and vegan baked goods! Having said that, the options were limited, but these items (especially paleo, which is how I eat) are RARELY found in shops like this. The young dude serving us, who appeared high school age, was a sweetheart but the older colleague working with him was rude to him as well as the customers. The ice cream was expensive but it is Vero Beach so I expected it. What I didn't expect was the Walmart attitude of some of the employees. It was frozen and they made us get it out of the fridge. 2nd, when we walked in, the woman told us to move out of the way for the other customers when we were not in the way. She told us to move to the other register where you can only order smoothies. When we said we wanted ice cream they rudely told us to move back where we came in. Then we asked for an item on the menu and the guy behind the counter was confused and had no idea what menu item we were asking for. Everyone was very rude and didn't know what was going on. Found this place on yelp nearby our hotel for breaky and noticed they had vegan options for me so we took a stroll! Their menu is huge--almost too big. My husband had a bacon, egg, and cheese croissant--loved it! I had the avocado toast (only comes with one slice) on Ezekiel bread (get them whole grains) as well as a bowl of oatmeal. The oatmeal was pretty basic, but did the job! You can do dried fruit, nuts, and brown sugar which I opted for. Not a fan of their to-go packaging considering how close they are to the beach. I feel like beach spots should be much more environmentally conscious. I also had an oatmilk latte--asked for a shot of vanilla but didn't get any. Husband had a very large vanilla latte and I would say, there was not enough espresso given the size of the cup. COVID: they had a one-way entrance, one-way exit and masks are required . My score loses a star due to the service. The woman serving behind the counter wasn't very customer-forward--and I know we are in a weird time, so I took that into consideration. read more

While staying here on vacation I researched some breakfast places and this one popped up. We decided to give it a try for breakfast and it was was very average. I'm not a coffee person but this place seemed to offer tons of coffee options for all you coffee lovers. When you walk in it's very cluttered and overwhelming with menu options above the counter that are written on chalkboards the length on the restaraunt. I finally just grabbed a menu by the counter to look at because there was a lot going on. We both ordered a ham egg and cheese croissant. The sandwiches were good, portioned right and didn't fall apart everywhere which was nice. $17.00 for two croissant sandwiches is too much. The service was okay but not great. I think my hubby and I went here everyday during our honeymoon. The blended low carb coffee drink was delicious. I got the caramel and he go the mocha. We ordered a turkey club and 2 smoothies for almost $40 and were told theres a 20 min wait...ok fine. Sandwich came out after 15 min... still no smoothies. I asked the girl who dropped our food about them and she said saw them making them now... they were never ours. Multiple people walked in and out, smoothies in hand and by the end of eating our lunch w no beverage we finally had to walk in and ask n they had no idea they didnt make them and offered a cookie... no we would like the $9 a piece smoothies we ordered 30 min ago. We went in on a Monday night. People were lined up out the door. As we got closer, we heard someone yelling from behind the counter "Close the door!" several times. After we got inside, she continued to yell to get away from the door, even though a party of about 10 people had gone in front of us and there was literally no where to stand. There's also a wide selection of ice cream here, which is really awesome. There were several flavors I had never seen or heard of. This place has a great location near the beach on lovely Ocean Drive. The food is yummy, with short wait times. They have a lot to offer, between breakfast sandwiches, coffee drinks, baked goods, paninis, ice cream, and more. They even have vegan and gluten-free options. The only downside is that it is small inside and thus gets rather cramped in busy times, being too crowded to even form a proper line, and making it hard to get around. OK so this place is crowded, has an inefficient layout, is way overpriced (even for a prime location on the beach). BUT none of that matters when you grab your cone, take a seat on the bench outside on a glorious spring day, and just savor the moment. Life is good! Ice cream is good! Writing this review makes me sad. I've come to Vero Beach & stayed in many hotels here since I was a little girl & I've came to this ice cream shop every time I'm here visiting. It used to be my favorite place. I loved the atmosphere & the ice cream! I was so excited to take my boyfriend here for the 1st time while we were in town recently. The service wasn't great, the workers were friendly but not outstanding service or anything & the ice cream scoops were not all that at all. They would not fill up the cups/ cones all the way or as much as they should have. The ice cream didn't taste delicious, it was decent but tasted like it had been sitting in the same bucket for a longggg time. I would also recommend a change in interior. They have the same exact pictures on the wall from so long ago. It just looks a little bit outdated. There is so much potential location-wise& who doesn't love ice cream ?! Decent food options. I've only had dessert here. I like their chocolate chip muffins, but they taste like they have some less than completely natural ingredients in them. Maybe crisco? They have a tip jar, "Give me 5 cents and I can go to college; give me 5 dollars and I won't have to go to college." I guess it's sort of funny, but I find it somewhat off-putting and offensive. I ordered an egg and cheese, with spinach and tomato and added avocado, and got an orange juice, my boyfriend got their daily special which was their version of a Cuban. The soda machine's flavor was gross, and so they let him switch out for something in the case. No one knew what to do about the machine not working properly. The woman brought my egg sandwich and went to take the number and we told her that my boyfriend also had a sandwich she went back to get it. And I love seeing businessmen in their suits walking out of this place licking rainbow colored treats in a large waffle cone. They have free wifi, and maybe one in five times I visit, it's working. Sign says they close at 10:00pm get there at 9:46 pm and they have somebody at the door letting people out, but won't let customers in. Where I'm from if you are open until 10:00, you don't close at 9:45 and turn customers away. Just rude. Went last night and asked for 2 scoops and got 2 tablespoons. They are the only game in town at the beach and they treat customers like trash. I would rather drive 10 miles for a scoop of dog duke, than to ever go there again. I ain't doin it.
