I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough that I feel like I should. We had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated, which we were fine with at first because we expected the food to be worth it. Unfortunately, it wasn't. Once we ordered, it took another 30 minutes for our food to come out -- and when it finally did, it was cold. There were multiple issues with the food itself. The shrimp were mushy and not properly cleaned, which was really off-putting. The king crab was very small for what you'd expect, and the eggs were undercooked. We ordered two potatoes and were served what looked like two halves instead of full portions. They also forgot to bring our rice altogether, and part of our order was incorrect. We also ordered eggrolls, and they honestly didn't taste like they had any meat in them at all -- mostly just filler. That was disappointing. The drinks were another letdown. I ordered a martini and it came out in a tall glass filled with ice, which is not how a martini is typically served. Another drink we ordered specifically because it included coconut cream came out without it. We mentioned it, but the drinks were never properly fixed. We only ordered that cocktail because of the coconut cream, so that was frustrating. The drinks also tasted watered down. Overall, between the long wait, cold food, missing items, and drinks that weren't made correctly, the experience just didn't match the price or expectations. I understand that restaurants can get busy, but the lack of attention to detail across so many parts of the meal made it hard to enjoy. I hope they work on consistency because the concept has potential, but this visit was disappointing.

First time knowing this was in SPM and my first time trying it. I got the pound of shrimp and pound of crawfish, you have to add all of your veggies. There is nothing included. I was disappointed to find out nothing was included but I added potatoes, corn and sausage. The flavor was very good. The medium is pretty spicy and I will say there is a tad of sweetness to it that I was not expecting but was not off-putting. Service was nice, they only come check on you occasionally as to not interrupt your experience. Drinks were always refilled and this is some place I would come back to visit when I'm craving a seafood boil. It's a classic boil restaurant with paper on the table and a country Cajun feel.

We dined here Friday evening around 6:30pm. This was my first time here and last. The restaurant was decently full but no wait. Ambience ok- sort of a seafood nautical mixed with sports bar feel. We read the reviews before we went in, so I knew it could be hit or miss depending on what you order. Most reviews only complained about the oysters and raved about the crawfish. If you make it before 7pm they have happy hour food and drink specials. I ordered a Mexican martini for $5.50 and the hubby ordered the house margarita for $3. We were seated at a booth in the back with a nice window view. This is pretty much the end of my positives. We ordered jalapeño poppers. They were your basic, bought out the frozen food section and dropped in grease poppers, nothing fancy. My Mexican martini was awful- someone had poured a ton of olive juice in it. The house margarita just tasted like mixer. My hubby ordered the shrimp po boy and Cajun wings. His wings were slightly burnt but at least temperature hot. His shrimp on the po boy were hot but the french bread was hard and tough. I ordered the tilapia platter, fried, with Cajun fries. My food was completely cold! Fish batter was bland with no seasoning and tasted slight burnt also. Meanwhile my husband kept mentioning there were ants crawling on the window we were sitting next to. My son accidentally dropped a French fry on the floor. When I went down to pick it up, the floor was swarming with ants and the fry was covered as well as other food particles. I was completely grossed out at this point. My camera pics don't do it justice. We advised the server and asked for our check. He just looked at us like we had three heads and walked away for the check. No apologies or anything. He then brought the check and disappeared. Luckily we had cash so we could easily pay and leave. Typically I like to address these issues with management but I was tired with a toddler so I needed to leave.

Heard rave reviews about this place especially the oysters. Also a favorite of my GF's kiddos. So, we decided to check it out with them. We arrived just before opening; hung out at the front door with the sign blinking open. Once inside they told us another 15 minutes as they were behind on prep. Took the rest of our party a few minutes to arrive so we weren't too worried. Drinks were provided quickly; we did forage for our own menus while we waited. First thing I noticed is most are the apps are small but equally cheap. I mean, who takes the time to put only 8 mushrooms in the deep fryer? Or how about 4 hushpuppies for $1.80? I'm baffled, thinking they went and stole the add on prices for extra at Long John Silvers. Truthfully, most of the fried stuff is straight outa the food service truck. And, those cheap apps are only there to entice you into spending your weekly paycheck on pricier food. Some of my raw oysters suffered from sediment meaning they weren't properly cleaned. The diablo shrimp should have been grilled or griddled instead of time in the deep fryer with all the other apps. Boudin balls were super tough. One member of our table never received her wings; that was to be her entree. I did find the crawfish etouffee acceptable with a light blonde roux. Only a few dashed of tabasco made it a solid dish. And now, they 2lbs of Cajun snow crab legs. Possibly some of the best I've had and the redeeming quality for my two star review. Service started out OK and got worse as our meal progressed. Refills started great and then it was down to waiving and asking. I appreciate the restaurant's tenure but I've noticed even some of their regulars have started to complain on yelp in recent months. We spent over $200 with tip; that doesn't jive with the food offered and the venue. Next time we'll just head over to Pappadeaux.

Food was good, server was informative and friendly . We arrived pretty late to celebrate my daughter in law birthday. I called a couple of hours prior to arrival to inform we would be coming in and I requested the group to sing Happy Birthday to her. (Which they usually do) I was told absolutely; However, even after I reminded the front hostess when we arrived and told my waiter... the song never happened.

This place operates on a tab-based system, so no need to wait for a check, since the tab is opened for you before you're seated. This worked very smoothly! My list of places to try in Austin is a never-ending backlog. About a year ago, I had a friend…read morerecommend Lil' Easy for dinner. Since it was this new and poppin' restaurant on East Cesar Chavez from the team behind De Nada, we had over an hour wait that we didn't take up. Its vibe intrigued me, and I think Cajun food is top five like Tatum with a cut. I decided to prepare only slightly this time. While getting dinner with a friend, we were discussing places when I suggested Lil' Easy. I threw a reservation down for an hour later at one of their numerous dining options. Upon arrival, parking at that little strip of restaurants on East Cesar Chavez is a bit treacherous. If you're not afraid of getting your steps in at 6 pm on a Friday, don't sweat it. Anyone else, good luck. There are a lot of different seating arrangements at Lil' Easy: the true outdoor patio with fans and umbrellas, the climate-controlled outdoor space that still brings the sun while still pumping A/C, and the traditional indoor space. Plenty of seating. The entire place was decorated with Mardi Gras beads and colors. Off the rip, we had to set the tone: I ordered a Pimm's Cup while my friend got some secret frozen swirl. We had to throw down an order of the Crawfish Queso as well. The food and drinks were served so quickly, we questioned if it was ours. The queso was De Nada's signature queso with Crawfish Étouffée mixed in. There are no tortilla chips on the side, but instead toasted bread. It's kinda like a DIY Crostini. The crawfish's flavor is a unique and savory balance to the cheesiness of the queso. Very delightful. We crushed it. My friend wanted to go wild. Another appetizer?? Their Shrimp Cocktail was thrown down immediately after ordering. The shrimp was great, but those house pickles were sneakily one of the best things they served us. Living the high life. Speaking of that, I ordered a High Life Pony as we made our main orders: a Fried Catfish Po'Boy and Fried Oyster Po'Boy. Both cut down the middle so we could have a little this, a little that. I think the bread, the catfish and the oysters, and the fries served alongside it were all incredible. My only issue was that the catfish po'boy had horseradish in it. That is a me issue, and I don't know why I can't stand horseradish. I don't know if it was hiding in their coleslaw or their rémoulade, but something was horseradish-y! I'd get the oyster po'boy again and again though! We closed the night with me being fun as I ordered their Frozen Espresso Martini with sprinkles and whipped cream because some other lady sitting nearby had that, and I WANTED TO BE FUN TOO. My friend got herself the seasonal nonalcoholic Arnold Palmer that was spiked with some Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka. Hers was great, but mine was basically a milkshake. I looked like a joyous kid with my drink. I was so very happy. They do give you lids for your drinks if you want to take them with you, but I planned to finish mine then and there. The gimme cups are also a nice touch and have their cute alligator mascot on them. Throughout the night, we could not believe how fast the service was at getting our meals and our drinks to us. Our waitress was absolutely on point the entire time we were there, constantly checking in on us and being extremely friendly and helpful in making sure we chose the right things and had a good meal ahead of us. Lil' Easy is casual, fun, and absolutely delicious. They have some of the best frozens in Austin, and their food is some of the best seafood and Cajun food I've had in Austin, hands down. The waitress is very helpful and nice. I came here because I kept hearing good things about the crawfish. I have to say the crawfish was OK. There is nothing amazing about it, but it was good. I will say the corn and the onion were beyond spicy, but that was a nice kick. We also got the oysters. I have to say that the oysters were delicious so I give them that. The gumball was definitely missing a lot of flavor. It was it that good. The deviled eggs were mediocre and nothing special to them. We also got a meat. Patty empanada kind of deal and that was OK. It was a little overly greasy. And for dessert, we got the banana rum cake, which I have to say was nice but again nothing special. As for drinks, they had quite a variation. One of us got the espresso martini, which was OK. It was too sweet for my taste. And then I got the spritz which was nice. It's very hard to mess up a spritz. Not sure I would've come back just because the food was OK if I did come back, it would be for the oysters cause I do say that was really good for them.

Every time we come, we have been satisfied. This is a black-owned restaurant and babiiesss, this is one for the books. The best times to come are early before 5. SUNDAYS ARE SUPER BUSY, (line out the door busy), so beware of that. Let's start with the service, the owner is HIM. Every time we've come, he's greeting everyone that comes in with a calm, cool, welcoming, and assured demeanor about himself while taking orders. When he has the chance, he comes by the tables and checks in with everyone, making sure everyone is satisfied and the place is up to his standards. This man is the definition of #HANDSON! It's needed. He doesn't know it, but we really value him. The Ambiance is usually way more busier, energetic like. However, today we came closer to opening @ 11:15am and was able to enjoy sitting down without the rush. It's always great music playing, so you know I'm jamming :P The cooks keep hair nets on their heads and gloves on. It's somewhat an open window kitchen so that's cool too. There's usually a cleaning lady going around making sure the place stays clean and tables rotating. The prices aren't bad. They did just increase since the last we been here, but they're still affordable. Now for the food WITH SOULLLL... Since we've been here so many times, I'll give you the MUST TRYs! These are delicious, delightful and your tastebuds will love you for it. Plus the portions are generous and never lack in flavor. #ComfortingFood 1. Oxtail Eggrolls $14 2. Cheezy Mac (regular) $6 3. One thing about it, whether you're vegetarian or loving the meat, you'll find something to love that will lighten your soul. It's been hard to find QUALITY food here in Austin, but we found it in 'WHIP MY SOUL'. So GO, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! You won't be disappointed.
