I tried the Gumbo which was excellent with Big Shrimp so fresh they tasted like they were just pulled from the Gulf! The Corn Bread was so flavorful that I had to get Corn Bread to go! The gumbo is rich and is thickened with the most flavorful roux this side of the Texas-Louisiana border. The gumbo had nice chunks of chicken, shrimp, and sausage. The po-boy was generous with perfectly battered shrimps - they were on the verge of colossal. I got mine all the way so it was well dressed with Mayo, lettuce, and tomato. I finally tried and oh my gosh, this place is so beyond good. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo with a side of potato salad ‍ The gumbo was delicious, its the closest gumbo ive found that is like my dads. You know this family is Cajun and knows what they're doing! The potato salad was the BEST IVE EVER HAD! It was mad good, and im not even that crazy for potato salad. I love this little new food truck. I've been there three times and every meal has been awesome. My first trip I had grilled fish with the best Mac and cheese and cornbread I've ever had in my life! From what I can tell from reviews, their food is good. That said, do not order online from them. I did today - and arrived only to find them not open. I called the number on the truck and was refused a refund. They insisted I ask DoorDash for it (even though I paid directly through their Square site, not DoorDash). Even after letting them know that and telling them my alternative would be to go through Amex (who would ding them with a chargeback), they insisted on my reaching out to DoorDash and were rude / unhelpful. I have been driving by this place everyday on my way to and from work. it's right next to kuways banh mi which happens to also be my fav banh mi in town and in the Rosedale Market parking lot which the rosedale markets loud electronic music has been dear to me for years now. I finally decided to stop by, I'm pregnant and I've been craving etouffee and it's surprising how many Cajun places in austin don't have etouffee, so I'm on a mission. first thing I notice is the truck letters, very DIY which I kinda loved and was a tell tale sign it was about to slap (you don't need frills when the food is amazing) and then when I saw the caricature on the window... thats when I knew. the lady was pleasant and took my order quickly but also guided me through it and had to have known I hadn't been there before lol I got, of course, etouffee (it was shrimp today) and their special which was chicken tenders and fries, potato salad, and a lemonade. it got even better when they gave me the lemonade in a portion cup with a pink straw. the potato salad was seasoned and amazing, the chicken was fried to perfection and still juicy and flavorful, and the etouffee was exactly what I have been searching for.
