Shrimp etouffee & Fried Catfish (couldn't wait and had to take a bite)

Love this place. Tuesday & Thursday etouffee can't be beat. Need to get here on Monday for red beans and rice. Fried catfish is crispy with great flavor. Banana pudding is different from typical versions. They whip the pudding part so it is light and airy and the nilla wafers are crisp. If you want some NOLA staples, this is a great option.

I love this little new food truck. I've been there three times and every meal has been awesome. My first trip I had grilled fish with the best Mac and cheese and cornbread I've ever had in my life! The second time I had a huge shrimp Po boy, and today I had etouffee. I thought it was just going to be the etouffee, but it came with shrimp and a catfish fillet! They have a limited menu everyday so call ahead or check out their Instagram page for the day's meal.

We were headed to a BBQ place when we decided to try Err Thing New Orleans. We ordered the fried catfish, gumbo, shrimp étouffée, red beans and rice, it came with a piece of cornbread and a garlic toast. The service was great and the food came out quick. Everything was FLAVORFUL!! The catfish was definitely catfish. I'm not the only one that realized that some restaurants switch catfish for Swai.If you know your seafood you know what I'm talking about. The fish was season perfectly, it was moist and fresh. The étouffée came with huge shrimps and again very flavorful. The gumbo was full of chunks of shrimp, and the roux was made with love. The cornbread was sweet and sticky! The red beans and rice was amazing!!! Don't walk but run and come get you some authentic New Orleans, Cajun food. You will not be disappointed!!

This is the best gumbo I have had in Austin. Sorry to the rest of those places trying their best, but this is the real deal. The potato salad also gets a passing grade and as a Louisiana girl I might be even more picky about potato salad than gumbo.

The aroma through the container was so pleasantly strong. Once I got back to work I didn't even get out the car for fear my coworkers would disturb this blessing of gumbo and cornbread. I just sat in the car and ate. Mind you with no music. This was the best. Oh...I have finally found better lemonade than CFA. It's here!!! Friendly and just all around good people. I will be back.

I literally drove over here 2 days in a Row and it was Closed after Google and Yelp said it was Open. There is no number to contact the business before hand to even see if they are open. So disappointed i waisted time and gas again today; wont be returning just to be let down. read more

While ago at AFS Cinema I was talking about Seafood and Everything New Orleans Trailer at 1309 W 45th was highly recomended. Went there and was immediately welcomed like I was back in New Orleans. I tried the Gumbo which was excellent with Big Shrimp so fresh they tasted like they were just pulled from the Gulf! The Corn Bread was so flavorful that I had to get Corn Bread to go! The Gumbo & Cornbread filled me up but I decided to chase it with their Lemonade which also was a delight to drink. Rushed home & took a 3 hour afternoon nap. Ordered the seafood gumbo and shrimp po'boy. The gumbo special comes with a choice of lemonade or Hawaiian Punch. The gumbo is rich and is thickened with the most flavorful roux this side of the Texas-Louisiana border. The gumbo had nice chunks of chicken, shrimp, and sausage. The po-boy was generous with perfectly battered shrimps - they were on the verge of colossal. I got mine all the way so it was well dressed with Mayo, lettuce, and tomato. As for the service, very friendly. I ordered through a delivery app and they didn't have yakamein that day and they called to let me know. The gentleman on the phone was so nice. I finally tried and oh my gosh, this place is so beyond good. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo with a side of potato salad ‍ The gumbo was delicious, its the closest gumbo ive found that is like my dads. You know this family is Cajun and knows what they're doing! The potato salad was the BEST IVE EVER HAD! It was mad good, and im not even that crazy for potato salad. The service was great as well, I believe they had the family there helping out. The son handed me my food and he was the sweetest cutest young man. This truck is parked at the Roaedale Market where they stock trending drinks and candies ( I saw the Dubai chocolate bar lol ), they also have a covered sitting area for you to eat and hang! read more

From what I can tell from reviews, their food is good. That said, do not order online from them. I did today - and arrived only to find them not open. I called the number on the truck and was refused a refund. They insisted I ask DoorDash for it (even though I paid directly through their Square site, not DoorDash). Even after letting them know that and telling them my alternative would be to go through Amex (who would ding them with a chargeback), they insisted on my reaching out to DoorDash and were rude / unhelpful. I won't return after this - but take heed of my lesson... don't order unless you're at the trailer. read more

Right next to the Rosedale Market at 45th and Burnet. You could almost miss it - but you definitely want to try Everything New Orleans. As a Louisiana transplant I am pretty hard to please with Cajun/NOLA food. This place is fabulous. I had the gumbo and my whole family loved it as a side for Tuesday night dinner. Definitely going back. Friendly staff, "Katrina Refugees" who moved here post hurricane 17 years ago. Thanks for bringing a bit of home to Austin!!! See you again soon. read more

I had a bowl of the gumbo - it came with a lot of shrimp, sausage and chicken. It was good - the only thing was the menu was a bit confusing and only partially listed prices- I had some sticker shock with the $17 which did include a drink and cornbread. It seems like everything is $17ish including poboys which just seems a bit expensive so I won't be in a rush to come back. read more

RUN, do not walk, RUN! To try this place. My husband stumbled across this place a couple months ago and bought me their special of the day, Yakamein. I was very hesitant as I had never had it before but it was SO GOOD. Very flavorful and a generous portion. We split the fish po-boy a couple of weeks ago and they knocked that out of the park too! So well seasoned and fresh. We also had the lemonade which is absolutely perfect. I cannot sing enough praises for the owners! They are so kind and the definition of southern hospitality. Check them out if you in the neighborhood! Honestly I'd drive at least 30 min for their food. It's just that good read more

A New Orleans transplant here who knows how hard it is to find a good hot plate in Austin... this place is now my go-to. Fish was fried FRESH, potato salad was moist and flavorful, cornbread wasn't too sweet and the red beans actually tasted like more than just salt. Will be back weekly for my fix. read more

My wife and I saw this new place pop up at the Rosedale Market. Stuff there is usually good so we tried it. It was cold so we got the Yakima and a fish po boy. It was sooo good. And the people running the truck are so sweet. They even have kool aid. Has definitely become a go to spot. read more

wow! I have been driving by this place everyday on my way to and from work. it's right next to kuways banh mi which happens to also be my fav banh mi in town and in the Rosedale Market parking lot which the rosedale markets loud electronic music has been dear to me for years now. I finally decided to stop by, I'm pregnant and I've been craving etouffee and it's surprising how many Cajun places in austin don't have etouffee, so I'm on a mission. first thing I notice is the truck letters, very DIY which I kinda loved and was a tell tale sign it was about to slap (you don't need frills when the food is amazing) and then when I saw the caricature on the window... thats when I knew. the lady was pleasant and took my order quickly but also guided me through it and had to have known I hadn't been there before lol I got, of course, etouffee (it was shrimp today) and their special which was chicken tenders and fries, potato salad, and a lemonade. it got even better when they gave me the lemonade in a portion cup with a pink straw. the potato salad was seasoned and amazing, the chicken was fried to perfection and still juicy and flavorful, and the etouffee was exactly what I have been searching for. I got to speak with Chef Manny and and Carina, the general manager to gain some insights about the business. Mexican Cocina is based on the cooking method and seasonings. The foods can be cooked over fire, oven or in the stove. Their unique value proposition is that you can choose your seafood from the case and the restaurant staff prepares the food to your liking. The restaurant is very large with different size rooms for rental. For large party rentals the spend minimum is $1000 and during the week it is $800. The black beans didn't taste bad but they were superheated as if they were warmed in a microwave. Overall, the food was pretty horrible. So very sad as I was hoping to find a good Mexican seafood option in Austin. I was told that this restaurant is owned by the same folks that operate Casa Chapala, where I have had great experiences. Hopefully this place will improve over time.

Example: Our check was $822 (included gratuities) for seven people and we were only able to split evenly four ways. Roughly $118 each. It is what it is but I didn't even get a main course. Just a glass of wine, a half of a piece of bruschetta, some of the Caesar salad and a small portion of the gnocchi (all shared) I'm glad I got to experience Red Ash, but now that I've checked that off my list, I'm good.

We had to wait for about 40 minutes for the food but they were so good! Highly recommend and we will definitely come back!
